It wasn't that Luke always got what he want, but Luke always got what he wanted. He got his ice cream from Calum if he wanted it, he got the new guitar if he wanted and of course, when Luke asked for love, he got it.
Luke was a spoiled boy when he was younger, simply because he is the youngest. He still is spoiled, but this time, he actually has to do something for it.
Long story short: Luke is not amused, like, at all.
Mostly because his boyfriend and fellow bandmate Calum hasn't had sex with Luke for the past three weeks and to say that Luke is horny, is an understatement. Luke is a nineteen year old teenage boy, who has his needs. Luke doesn't know how often he has masturbated in those three weeks, of course, when Calum wasn't home or any of the other boys really.
Because Luke is loud. He's not the one who moans just a few times, no. It's his way of communicating when he's making love or being fu.cked into the matress by his boyfriend.
''Cally..'' Luke drags out his words as he feels his boyfriend getting out of bed, groaning as Calum just ignores him and walks to their hotel bathroom. ''If you don't want me anymore you can just tell me..'' Luke whispered to himself, turning around to lay on his side, facing their hotel room door, his back to the bathroom.
Luke sighs as he hears the shower turn on after a few minutes of silence, and he closes his eyes as he just listens to the drops of water falling onto the cold tiled floor in the bathroom.
He pretends to sleep as he hears Calum exit the bathroom fifteen minutes later, and he holds back a sniffle as Calum just walks out of the room without saying a thing.
Was this it? Calum didn't cuddle Luke at all the last three nights they slept in this hotel, or even talked to him. The only thing he said was during the interviews they had here in London. Luke's eyes started to tear as he realized that his boyfriend of four and a half years didn't love him anymore, didn't want him anymore at all.
His eyebrows furrow as he sniffles, his whole body soon shaking with the huge amount of power his ugly sobs come out of his mouth. He weakly pulls the blanket of off him and gets himself out of bed as he slowly walks to the bathroom. The light is still on from when Calum used it just minutes prior and Luke sniffles.
He pulls of his black boxers and throws them in the laundry bag grabbing on of the fluffy black towels hanging from the towel rack as he steps into the shower, turning it on. The extreme heath coming from the water lets Luke know that Calum was lost in his thoughts while in the shower.
He lets the water burn his skin as his eyes close, rethinking all of the things he had said to Calum for the past two months that could've possibly ruined everything for Luke and Calum. But, nothing that Luke can remember, is actually so harsh or so stupid that could make Calum lose his love for the blonde boy.
He shivers as all of the sudden the water goes cold, his body not ready for such a change of temperature so it starts to tingle and Luke groans as he shuts the shower of, grabbing his towel and wrapping it around his waist.
Knowing that no one could've entered the hotel room except for Calum, Luke steps out of the bathroom just in his towel. He's slightly dissapointed when he sees no one in the room, he was secretly hoping for Calum, to atleast be able say goodmorning to his boyfriend.
Luke frowned at the word, not even sure if he was Calum's boyfriend, at all. Luke shakes his head, sitting down on their bed and wiping his face with his hands. He watches as small water drops fall from his wet hair, onto the messed up bed. He cracks a sad smile when he looks at the clock, realizing that they have to leave for an interview at Capital.FM in an hour.
Maybe Calum will act normal for atleast an hour.
-
Luke was wrong.
He was trying to hold his tears as they came back from the interview, running up the hotel stairs when they arrived at the hotel. He probably confused so many people as he basically ran upstairs with his hand in his mouth, trying to not let out very loud and obvious sobs.
As he arrived at his and Calum's bedroom, he typed in the code in rapid speed before entering, slamming the door close behind him. He ran into the bathroom, closing that door as well and locking it, so Calum couldn't enter.
Not that he would care.
Luke violently sobs as he slides down the door, landing on his ass and wrapping his arms around his knees, hiding his face in his knees, sobbing like a crazy mess.
The sadness turns into anger quickly after sitting alone for a minute or two. Luke stands up very slowly, not wanting to become dizzy from the sudden movement, as he looks at himself in the mirror. He frowns as he sees his eyes, blood shot red. His cheeks are sticky and tear stained as he touches his cheekbones.
''I'm not enough.'' He whispers. Flashbacks from what happened at the interview started to occur in his mind. He tries to push them away, but he can't.
The boys laugh at the girl sitting behind one of the huge microphones, talking about an emberassing story of hers. ''LizzyLoLo asks: are you guys single, or already taken? Interesting question Lizzy, well guys?'' She looks at the four boys who shrug.
Luke is about to say that he's taken, but then he can see Calum opening so he stops himself. ''I'm taken.'' Luke sighs in relief as he hears that, smiling again for what seemed like enternity. ''Is she or he nice?'' The girl asks, and Calum smiles.
''She's very sweet.''
Tears start to run down his already stained cheeks again, and he lets out a shaky breath. He has to go outside of the bathroom one day, he tells himself as he unlocks the door, and steps into the room.
He sees Calum casually sitting on their bed, and Luke tries to hold back a yell and maybe a bitch slap as he starts to collect his stuff, ignoring Calum completely.
''Luk-''
''Is she pretty, Calum?'' Luke whispers, interupting Calum and looking at what used to be his boyfriend with his blue eyes, who have started to tear again.
''I-''
''Is she? Does she treat you okay?'' Calum looks at Luke in utter shock, brown eyes wide and mouth dropped open.
''It's okay..'' Luke whispers, and he kisses Calum on the cheek for the last time before pocketing his phone, and walking out of the room. He closes the door as he walks out, and lets a shaky breath escape him.
It's really over, isn't it? He asks himself as he starts to walk down the hotel corridor, towards Michael and Ashton's bedroom. He clenches his fists over and over again as he walks trough the long corridor, his feet dragging his body across the corridor until he arrives at the room he was looking for.
He knocks on the door and leans against the wall as he waits for his bandmates to open it. Luke doesn't have to say anything as the door opens and he gets pulled inside.
''Are you okay, Lukey?'' Michael asks as he engulfs his bestfriend in a hug, and Luke can't hold it in anymore. ''What did i do wrong, mikey?'' He asks the lilac haired lad as he hugs Michael tight. ''He did something wrong, Luke. Not you.'' He whispers back patting Luke's back and trying to comfort his friend by simply playing with his blonde hair.
''I can talk to him if you want?'' Luke shakes his head at Ashton's question, sobbing into his best friends shoulder once more. ''I-i do-on't u-understand..'' The blonde boy cries out, clenching his eyes shut.
It was two years later, and the band had quit. They fell apart when Calum messed up. The kiwi boy started doing drugs, going out every night and sleeping around like a mad men. The boys all thought it was a better idea to knock it off.
So, Luke found himself putting his guitar in his guitar case, sighing as he looks into his empty classroom. He started teaching girls and boys at his old high school some music, and he loved it.
He still had the scar on his heart, though. What Calum left was enormous and unforgettable. Luke had left it behind him, he forgave the boy thousands of times, hoping that it would get the kiwi boy back on the right track. It didn't work.
The thing is, Calum wasn't able to forgive himself. Walking down the street he knew all to well, he kicked a small stone out of his way, watching it roll of the sidewalk onto the pavement of the road.
Calum knew he messed up, at that interview two years ago. He shouldn't have done what he did, ignore Luke for weeks, not even kissing him or even talking to him. Calum never knew why he did it, actually. Maybe because he thought the feelings he had for Luke would fade, would leave him alone and make him not have to come out.
Now, two years later, Calum was drunk as hell, lonely as fu.ck and openly bisexual. He slowly dragged himself across the street, to his old high school.
It was twilight, you could barely see the boy who was completely dressed in black clothes walking across the street, onto the school grounds he knew so well. He walked towards a light he saw in one of the windows, the small orange light coming from a classroom on the ground floor.
It was suprising to Calum that he could think so clearly as he sat down in front of the window, his eyes barely reaching the beginning of the large window. He could see the light just barely, it looked like a small orange to him.
He giggled at his own stupidness, ofcourse it wasn't a freaking orange, it was a tangerine. He chuckled again, standing up. He had to use the walls to climb to his feet, the alcohol sinking into Calum's system as he started walking.
Calum had to sit down in the middle of the schoolyard, on the cold stone floor. He giggled on the outside, but on the inside Calum could cry.
He could've been married to the love of his life, who has probably moved on by now. He could've been rocking all sorts of stages instead of getting drunk every night, waking up all hangover and repeating the process again and again.
Calum gagged, getting sick of himself as he started to stand up again, but without a wall to pull him up with, he fell again. He just sat there, crying his eyes out, his sobs echoing across the whole schoolyard.
Luke turned of the small light he had, standing up and grabbing his guitar case, before walking out of his classroom and locking the door. He walks trough the empty and silent corridors, who were filled with loud students just hours prior. he opens the main entrance door, before walking out of his work place.
He's about to walk of the schoolyard when he heard sobs coming from behind him. He turned around to see an all black schoolyard, not being able to see anything as he squints his eyes.
''Hello?'' He says, rather loudly to maybe get the person to reveal himself. ''H-Here..'' Trough the sobs, Luke can't recognize the voice, hoping it itsn't one of his students.
He walks back onto the schoolyard, just walking straight to the middle of it. As he sees the person a little bit better, he gasps.
There he is, the love of his life, who exited Luke's life about a year and a half ago is laying on his back, sobbing his eyes out. ''L-luke? i-is t-that y-you?'' Luke can barely hold back the tears as he hears how broken Calum sounds. He crouches down to feel for Calum's wrist, and when he finds it, he wraps his hand around it and pulls Calum up.
''Wha-''
''You are sleeping at my house tonight, and i don't want to hear any protests.'' Luke says as he practically drags Calum out of the schoolyard, to the blonde's car. He pushes Calum onto the passenger side after he unlocked his car, and closes the door. He goes to his trunk and throws his guitar case inside of it before walking to the drivers seat and getting in.
As he starts the car, he notices that the boy has fallen asleep against the cold window, and Luke smiles sadly. The boy may have broken the blonde's heart, but he would've never forgiven himself if he just left Calum there to cry.
He turns his steering wheel, and starts to drive towards his home.
-
When Calum woke up, he was beyond confused to see he was wrapped in a blanket on someone's bed. He looked to the side to see a glass of water and an Advil on the bed side table, and he smiled sadly.
He silently sat up, before grabbing the water and popping the advil into his mouth and swallowing. He puts the glass back down and scans the room, before frowning. Where in the holy hell is he? He doesn't recognize the blue ish wallpaper on the walls, nor the painting that is hanging above a dresser.
Slowly but surely, Calum gets out of the bed, dropping the white sheets onto the bed again before shuffling out of the room, his head pounding with a headache.
When he hears noise coming from down the hall, he decides that he's probably in someone's apartment, maybe someone he hooked up with.
As he starts walking down the hall, he hears the quiet humming of the person who's in, what he guesses to be, the kitchen. He smiles as he faintly recognizes the song, but shrugs it of. As he turns the corner of the hall, he gasps as he sees it.
The blonde boy, the love of his life, is sitting at a white kitchen table, on a wooden chair, sipping from his cup of coffee and reading the newspaper.
This is what Calum dreamt of waking up to for so long, minus the headache of course, and his eyes widen as Luke turns around.
''Goodmorning Calum.'' He says politely, standing up from his seat as he walks towards the coffee machine, and gesturing for Calum to sit down. Calum raises his eyebrows at the gestures, but sits down even though.
''Coffee? I heard it helps to battle the hangover?''
''Why are you doing this Luke?'' Calum asks, his voice groggy and raspy. Luke stops his movements, putting down the wide coffee mug he was holding. ''because, i couldn't just leave you while you were crying on the ground in the school yard. You still mean an awful lot to me, Cal. I couldn't just leave you there while you were crying your eyes out and almost choking on your own tears, unable to catch your breath or even sit up.'' Luke explains with a sigh, picking up the mug again and handing it to Calum.
''bu-''
''I know you broke my heart, Cal. I know you did, I think about it almost every day. There doesn't exist a day where i don't think about you or your stupid attitude. I have forgiven you thousands of times, but the thing is, you couldn't forgive yourself.'' Luke says and Calum gasps.
''I didn't want to end up like this, Luke. I didn't mean for any of this to happen..'' Calum sighs, before standing up. He walks up to Luke, putting his hands on the younger boy his cheek. His cheeks turn bright red as he feels Calum's hands caress them, before hugging the blonde.
''I'm so sorry..'' He sobs into Luke's shoulder, and Luke pets Calum's back. ''It's okay, as i said, i forgive you.''
''Why?''
''Because i know you were afraid, Cal. You were afraid of falling to far. you were absolutely mortified of falling so deep and hard that you couldn't get out anymore. I forgive you.'' Luke says again, and Calum sighs a happy sigh.
''I really don't know why I did what I did in the first place. I am so sorry." Luke pats Calum's back, and he finds himself enjoying the embrace the boys share.
Luke frowns, his eyebrows knitting together as he tries to ignore the butterflies that start to erupt in his stomach.
Luke's not going to pretend that he doesn't know why they are there, because he does know why. Calum was, still is, and always will be the love of Luke's life.
Although Luke is almost a hundred percent sure that Calum has moved on, there is still this little part of his body that tells him to just go for it and kiss the boy, before he disappears again, out of Luke's grasp, out of Luke's house, out of Luke's life.
Luke doesn't want that to happen again.
"Where do you live?" Luke asks the boy in front of him, who's eating some cornflakes Luke got for him. "I have an apartment, somewhere." Calum mumbles, not really knowing if Luke will either laugh at him for not completely remembering where he lives, or will help him find it.
"Somewhere?" Luke asks, a soft chuckle coming out of his mouth. Calum smiles sadly at Luke's response and just continues eating.
"Well, if you want to get dressed you could just use some of my clothes, I put yours in the washing machine because they smelled like alcohol. I have to go and grade some papers." Calum nods at Luke's words, smiling at Luke's, still toned, back as the blonde boy walks out of the kitchen.
Why is he feeling on top of the world?
-
"Would you, Luke Hemmings, do me the honor and marry me?" Luke gasps as he stands up from where he was seated, a very nice soft chair in a very nice and romantic restaurant. He looks up at his slightly taller boyfriend, before nodding.
The boy in front of him beams, a smile that makes his eyes crinkle and Luke's cheeks flush. A smile he knew so well. A smile of pure happiness.
His fiancé puts a beautiful silver ring on Luke's ring finger, and kisses him.
This is all Luke wished for when he got together again with Calum. He truly missed the boy in his life, and the day that Calum asked Luke to be his boyfriend again, Luke said yes.
Now, two years later after that day, Calum asked Luke to marry him, and Luke said yes.
the end.
