Some say in ice

From what I've tasted of desire,

I hold with those who favour fire

But if I had to perish twice

I think I know enough of hate

To say that for destruction, ice

I saw Kol take a step towards me, but I turned and started walking away.

"Eli? Where are you going?" he called and ran after me.

I whipped around angrily with a glare.

"NO. You do NOT get to ask ME that after 3 MONTHS Kol. 3 FUCKING MONTHS. Where am I going? WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!"

He flinched and recoiled.

I turned around with a scoff and again began to walk away.

"Elijah, just let me explain!" Kol cried as he grabbed my arm.

I ripped my arm away, "No Kol! Everything was pretend for you! I gave up my whole life, all I had was you and you threw me away. You walked out on me first Kol."

"You've got to understand Eli, I'm not used to being needed and needing someone - loving someone! I got scared so I ran!"

"You got scared?" I asked unbelieving then scoffed, "When are the lies going to stop?"

"I'm not lying!" he defended.

"How am I suppose to believe you?!"

He was enraged, "I'm. Not. Lying."

His anger built up into fire which he released toward me accidentally, which I quickly blocked with ice.

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" I shouted.

I dropped it to see him looking at me wide-eyed.

"You... You created your own ice, without the lake's water..." he breathed.

"A lot can happen in 3 months Kol, especially when you have nothing else to do." I said with a sigh.

His face dropped, his body soon following.

"How could you ever forgive me?" he whispered with his face in his hands.

I sighed and dropped down next to him.

"I can't," I said, then put my hand on his cheek, "but the problem is that I've already fallen in love with you."

He looked up at me with hopeful and teary eyes.

I smiled at him softly and captured his lips.

After a few seconds, he pulled away.

"I'm in love with you too."
