"I can't believe it's already April." I say looking up at James.

"Yeah Sam and TJ are preparing for their sixth birthdays in a couple months and a couple months after that Connor's going to be ready to pop again." James says with a chuckle. Its been a week since I woke up and the doctors are letting me go home. Well to James's home at least. I haven't had a home since I left six and a half years ago.

James is pushing my wheelchair and TJ's walking beside it. The doctors say I'm paralyzed from the waist down but with intense therapy I might get my legs back. They aren't sure though.

"When are you going to call your parents?" James asks me softly.

"I don't know. Its going to be hard to tell them. First they have a six year old grandson and then their son is paralyzed for an undefined amount of time." I say with a sigh.

"You'd also have to tell them why you were off the grid for six years." He adds.

"Yeah that too." I grimace. We pull up to the car.

"TJ can you get yourself in while I help Papa?" James asks.

"Yeah." He says opening the back door.

After a very difficult time of getting me in we're under way. I pull my phone and type in the once familiar number. I hesitate before hitting the send button.

"Hello?" The voice at the other end says.

"Hey mum." I say after a pause.

"Tristan? Tris baby is that you?" She asks shocked.

"Yeah it's me." I tell her.

"Where have you been? Why haven't you called? We've been worried sick about you." She goes to say more but I interrupt her.

"Mum. Can you meet us? I'll explain everything. Saturday at," I pause looking at James.

'Macca's' He mouths at me.

"At Macca's on Main and 17th? Could you bring James and Millie too?" I ask her.

"I'll ask them but they both have a pretty busy schedule. James is finally getting married and Millie's in university. Your dad and I will be there though." She tells me.

"Thanks mum. I got to go now but I'll see you then." I reply.

"Bye Tris. I love you." She says before I hang up. Nobody speaks for a while.

"I don't think I could have been that calm." James says breaking the silence.

"That's just outside." I tell him. "Inside I'm a turmoil of emotions."

"You're nervous. Why? Is it seeing your family again?" He asks, reading me like a book.

"Not so much seeing them again. More so their reactions." I admit.

"Reactions on what? Your legs?" He questions.

"That but mostly," I trail off, looking back at TJ who's almost asleep. "Mostly about him."

"Well if I know your mother she'll reaction one of two ways. She'll either love you for giving her a grandchild or she'll beat you up for getting me pregnant. Or both." He says chuckling. I join him because yeah that's how my mum will react.

"Relax everything's going to be fine." He tells me. For once I believe he's right.
