As I get dressed I think back to Tris and I 's conversation.
"One date that's all I'm asking for. After that if you don't want to go any farther you can just say the word and I won't mention it again." He told me.
"What about the kids?" I'd asked him.
"Mum wants to spend some time with them and she offered to babysit them." He said and I finally agreed.
Now I'm getting ready for said date and I'm a bit nervous.
"You ready?" Tris asks knocking on my door.
"Yeah I'm ready." I say opening the door. Tris is sitting outside dressed very nicely.
"Hey." He says looking at me. "You look great."
"Thanks." I tell him with a shy smile. I take the handles on his chair and push him out the front door. Lucky I have a one story house.
He doesn't want to tell me where we're going but since I'm driving he concedes to giving me directions. I pull up in front of a large very fancy restaurant.
"Tris you didn't." I say shaking my head.
"Well I have one chance so I'm going to go all out." He says grinning. I roll my eyes trying to suppress a grin.
"Reservation for Evans." Tris tells the hostess inside the door.
"Right this way sir." She says grabbing two menus and leading us to a quieter area of the restaurant. He really does go all out too, ordering us a bottle of fancy white wine and some exquisite food that I don't even know what it is.
We sit in silence while we wait for our food. A peaceful silence not an awkward one. He pushes his hand across the table and takes my hand. It just feels right somehow.
Our food finally comes and I find that exquisite name is simply spaghetti and a veal patty.
After we eat he directs me to another building a little ways down the road. When I open the door I see it's a dance studio.
"How can you dance in a wheelchair?" I ask carefully.
"That's what I asked." He tells me laughing. "One of the girls at therapy taught me. Her favorite thing to do was dance but she got into a car crash so she taught herself to dance in her wheelchair."
"That's amazing." I tell him.
"There she is now." He says waving to a girl across the room. She wheels her way over.
"Hey Tristan. You must be James. I'm Colette but please call me Coco." She says holding her hand out. I shake it. Another girl walks up at that moment putting her hand on Coco's shoulder.
"This is my fiancee and former dance partner, Mariana." Coco introduces.
"Hi. Coco's told me so much about you." Tris says shaking her hand.
"Well we'll leave you two be we're going to go dance." Coco says pulling her fiancee onto her lap and heading off.
"So would you like to dance?" Tris asks holding his hand out to me. I laugh at his formality.
"So how do we do this?" I ask taking his hand.
"You don't do anything but hold on." He says pulling me onto his lap. "I'll do all the work." Where have I heard that before. He puts one arm around my waist and the other he uses to push his chair ahead. Startled I put my arms around his neck to steady myself.
"I got you." He says tightening his arm around my waist. After a few minutes I start to relax and enjoy myself. I turn to look at Tris only to find his lips on mine. He probably meant to kiss my cheek but I turned my head.
Without meaning to I melt into the kiss. He pulls back suddenly.
"I'm s-" He starts to say but I cut him off by kissing him again. He's doesn't move for a second like he's surprised but quickly kisses me back. Its not a demanding kiss, its not a sexual kiss, its just passionate.
I feel his hand creep up under my shirt and I slowly pull back.
"I don't go farther than that on a first date." I say softly, leaning my forehead on his.
"Does that mean I have a chance at a second date?" He asks just as softly.
"You better get planning if you expect the second date to be better then the first." I tell him. He leans up and kisses me again. It only lasts a few seconds when my phone starts ringing. I pull it out of my pocket and answer it when I see Brad's name.
"Hey what's up?" I ask. Why's he calling me now he knows about the date.
"You need to come to the hospital right now." He says, voice shaking.
"Why? What's wrong?" I ask concerned. His answer makes my blood run cold.
"Connor's in labor." He tells me.
"But he's only six months." I gasp.

I official hate hospitals. I just spent most of the day in one again. Now I want to sleep but I have to wait til we get home.
What do you think of Trames date? And the phone call?
