This year has gone so fast. Today is Sam and TJ's sixth birthday party. James told me that last year they didn't want anyone at their part but this year they want everyone. So every one is coming, Grandma and Grandpa Simpson and Auntie Nat, Grandma and Grandpa Ball and Uncle Lewie, Grandma and Grandpa McVey and Auntie Sophie, and Grandma and Grandpa Evans and Uncle James and Auntie Millie. Ryan and Madi are coming too.

Brad and Connor's parents and Connor's brother are already here and Ryan spent the night so we're waiting on James family, Brad's sister, my family and Madi.

Just then the doorbell rings. James and I get there at the same time. There's a woman and a little girl on the other side.

"Madi?" James asks.

"That's me." The little black haired girl says grinning. "You must be TJ's daddy." She says looking at James.

"I am and are you Madi's mother?" He asks that woman.

"I am. I'm Carla Brom. Sorry for being quick but I've got to get to work. My husband Ron will be here to pick her up at about seven thirty." She says in a hurry.

"Its fine we've got her." James tells her letting Madi in the door.

"Okay. Bye Madi dear." Her mother says before turning and walking down the path.

James turns to led Madi to the rest of the kids when my wheelchair lets out an obnoxious squeak. Madi turns to look at me and she eyes my chair.

"You must be TJ's papa." She says. "Let me help." She kneels down next to my chair.

"What are you doing?" I ask her.

"Don't worry. My Uncle Danny had a wheelchair and I used to help him when his chair got squeaky." She tells me. "Uncle Danny had no legs he got blown up. He was always sad too. Not because of his legs. Mummy said he was missing his heart. That Grammy and Grampy made him leave his princess." She says as she does something to my chair.

"Why's that?" I ask her.

"Because they think a princess has to be a girl. Uncle Danny's princess wasn't a girl so they made him leave. He went to fight and he didn't come home til after his legs got blown off. He found his princess but his princess had a new prince. He told Uncle Danny that he would always have a place in his heart but he was to late. Uncle Danny was sad until the angels took him. Mummy said he was going to wait for his princess in heaven now." She says before standing up. "All better." I move my chair a bit to find no more squeaks.

"Wow." I say impressed.

"Madeleine." TJ says running into the room. "I was afraid you weren't gonna make it."

"Yeah I'm here. I was just helping your papa with his wheelchair." Madi informs him.

"Oh." He says nodding. "Are you gonna be a wheelchair fixer person when you grow up?"

"Maybe." She replies shrugging.

"You mean a mechanic?" I ask.

"Yeah that." TJ says nodding. Madi nods too.

"Well don't you let anyone tell you that you can't." I tell her. She just grins at me.

"Well let's get back to the party." James says.

Within the next half hour the rest of the family gets here. Everyone crowds into the living room as Sam and TJ get ready to open their presents. Even with the five kids on the floor seating is still tight. I pull James onto my lap. He rolls his eyes at me but doesn't argue. I pull him close and he leans his head on my shoulder as we watch Sam and TJ open their presents.

"Be mine." I say softly into his ear. He turns his head and looks at me in shock. "Be mine." I repeat.

"Don't leave me again." He counters.

"Never." I tell him. He intertwins his fingers with mine.

"What brought this up now?" He asks me.

"Madi's uncle. Her story reminded me how hard it was to live with out you. I can't do that again." I say honestly.

"Well I'm not going anywhere so as long as you stay you won't be without me." He says. I pull his hand up and kiss it. He turns back to the kids, I see a smile he's trying to hide. I look up and see TJ watching us with a huge grin.
