Hey guys! This chapter is dedicated to: shoes_8675.
(Jesses P.O.V)
The last few minutes of biology went by uneventfully. Me and Spencer unfortunately parted ways through a quiet head nod and -- Was that a smile? anyway, I headed off to second period. World Geography. Great.
Once I arrived, I sat down in the back of the class like always, and looked at the board. World Map Quiz. Not like I wasn't expecting it. I had studied, fortunately, otherwise I would be totally screwed right now. The bell rang and the last few students walked into the classroom. Miss Leggo handed out the test, and I completed it within half the period. I was sure I aced it. I turned it in, and put my head on my desk, and before I knew it, I was asleep.
I dreamt that I was on a beach, and I was walking down the pier. I didn't know why, but nobody else was there. It was just me and the waves. Suddenly, I saw someone at the end of the pier. I continued to walk down, getting closer and closer to the figure at the end of the pier. They were wearing a hood, so I didn't know who it was. I stood next to them, when I decided to look over. I saw a familiar profile when - SNAP!
I jerked awake on my desk. Miss Leggo was staring down at me with the evil eye of death, and the rest of the class was on their way out.
"Just because you finished the test early, does not give you the right to sleep in my class!" she said angrily.
"Uh, Yeah. Sorry." Was all I could stammer out.
I was still a little stunned about what just happened. Did I really just have a dream about - Spencer? I had only met him like, an hour ago! Still, when we were alone together, I couldn't help but feel some kind of... connection? I don't know.
I speed walked out of World Geography, and went to my next class, English. I hated English because of the devil teacher: Mrs. Smith. It went by uneventfully, and nothing really special happened, except Mrs. Smith tripping over the corner of her desk, and falling face first to the ground. Clumsy Bitch.
A few days went by. Me and spencer talked a little bit, but never anything huge.
When the bell rang, I was the first out of the classroom. I walked out to lunch, and decided to go to my locker first, when I was pushed over by David and his idiot friends, laughing.
"WATCH IT, SHITHEAD!"
I casually flipped him off, acting like I didn't even have control of my arm, and walking the other direction. I saw him run out the doors of the school. His grades, not mine.
As I walked to my locker, I heard a small sound - a squeak? Curious, I started following the sound, into the long abandoned hallways. Nobody ever went in there during lunch. After playing a game of silent Marco Polo, I turned a corner and saw the unimaginable.
Spencer in the corner, with his face in his hands, crying, surrounded by splats of red on the floor.
"SPENCER!" I yelled instinctively. I don't even remember running, but I was next to him before I even thought about it. I pulled him into a hug, and he pushed me away screaming.
"NO! PLEASE DON'T HIT ME AGAIN!"
"Hey, hey, its okay. Its just me, Jesse. From your Biology class earlier today."
He inched his hands slowly away from his face, made sure it was me, and then let out a small, sad "Hey"
"Hey? What happened to you? Your face looks like hell! Who did this to you? I am gonna...."
He was crying again. I didn't realize that as I had been asking him, I had been raising my voice into louder and louder until I was screaming. Great. Now he is afraid of me.
Before saying anything else, I sat down next to him, in the corner of the hall, his deep sobs echoing through the hall.
"Hey" I said, keeping my voice in check this time.
Before I could say anything else, he turned his head and looked at me, then slid over closer.
"Who the hell did this to you?" I asked, almost in a whisper.
"I-I-I-I'm Okay, Jesse"
"Spencer" I said, in a concerned voice, that must have come off as threatening, because he was crying again.
I didn't say anything else. Instead, I wrapped my arm around him, and held him, and before I knew it, I was crying too. I knew what it was like to be rejected, and be thrown into an environment where you didn't know anybody. It sucked.
He looked up at me, with his big green eyes, and said quietly "Thanks".
Before he said another word, I had him pulled up onto his feet, maybe a little to quickly, because he started to stumble. I caught him, and he gained his balance. I started walking/dragging him, and couldn't help but notice his physical embrace on me. We were holding hands, and he was holding onto me. This really isn't the the kind of thing I should be noticing in a time like this...
I put him in my car, and drove a little too fast for my comfort back to my house. I helped him out, and set him on the granite counter of my bathroom. I grabbed the first aid kit, and started cleaning him up. He had stopped crying. It was silent, but pleasant. When I was done bandaging him up, I asked him in an extremely loving voice,
"Spencer?"
He looked up at me, and his green eyes locked on me.
"Who did this to you" I asked, maintaining the quiet tone.
He sniffed, and looked at the floor. After a few seconds of silence, he replied "d-d-david and his friends."
WHAT?!? What is Jesse going to do? As always, vote comment, and I LOVE being messaged. (Thanks shoes_8675!)
