It's nearly 3AM when Jins phone rings and a tired Jin opens his eyes, and sits up.
He looks beside him where he sees his phone ringing.
Jin sighs knowing exactly who it is that's calling, and why.
"Hey Hoseok." Jin says tiredly when he finally answers the call.
"It's bad this time, Jin hyung. He's had too many and hes trashed half the bar." Hoseok sighs as Jin stands up beginning to put on his robe.
"I'm on my way." Jin sighes frustratedly.
And at that Jin hung up and grabbed his car keys.
He leaves the house in nothing but his robe and PJ's.
Jin starts the car, he's so used to this by now. It's become a routine for him, go to bed, wait for Namjoon to come to bed, wake up at 3AM by Hoseok calling telling him Namjoons drunk out of his mind at the bar. Jin doesn't even know how they got to this point.
He drives down the empty roads as he grips the steering wheel tightly. He doesn't know how much he can take of this, he and Namjoon used to be so close, so in love. And Jin is still very much in love with Namjoon, but Jin doubts Namjoon still loves him like he used to.
They were always so close, they shared everything, their friends used to say "you guys are like the relationship everybody wants, I thought love like this only existed in fairy tales" and it hurts Jin to think they're not like that anymore.
He sighs again as he parks infront of the bar.
He sees Hoseok holding a very drunk, hyper Namjoon, and he just jumps out the car.
"Sorry about this, Jin hyung." Hoseok says when he sees Jin approaching them.
Jin simply waves his hand to say its okay and smiles one of his fake smiles.
He takes Namjoon and puts his arm around his shoulder leading him into the car.
Jin looks back at Hoseok and waves goodbye while Hoseok shoots him a sympathetic look.
He puts Namjoon into the passenger seat, with much difficulty, and straps him in.
He doesn't even say anything as he drives back with a childish whining Namjoon beside him.
"Hyungggggg, I just want one more drink." Namjoon whines.
Jin doesn't reply as he feels his eyes water.
"Hyung, just one m- hyung are you crying?" And at that Jin stops the car and gets out.
He helps Namjoon out and Namjoons so drunk and clueless he's already forgotten that he saw his boyfriend crying just a second ago.
Jin leads Namjoon up the stairs to their apartment and puts him into bed.
Namjoon falls asleep quickly, unlike Jin who is sitting by the window with tears falling from his eyes rapidly.
He feels so alone at this point, sure in the day, he and Namjoon aren't as bad. But when night falls he's constantly having to pick up Namjoon from the bar and he can't handle it anymore. He never sleeps, he gets his 4 hours of sleep each night, picks up Namjoon, and then stays awake for the rest of the night.
He wipes his tears away and sniffles.
"Ah, Kim SeokJin, what a pathetic excuse of a man you are, what would eomma think if she knew you were sitting here crying every night?" Jin asked himself, laughing miserably.
Jin sits there for the rest of the night, thanking God that he doesn't have to work as it's a saturday. He really couldn't handle his 14 hour job after tonight.
Jin spends all morning cleaning the house before Namjoon stumbles out of their bedroom.
They don't talk, or even look at eachother, and Jin's heart is breaking into tiny pieces, but of course Namjoon doesn't know that.
"Where's the coffee?" Namjoon asks from the kitchen.
"We're out." Jin replies with no emotion.
"Why didn't you pick some up last night?" Namjoon says as he looks at Jin from the kitchen door with an annoyed face.
"I was too busy picking you up from the bar." Jin says as he grits his teeth, he doesn't want an argument right now.
"Pft, you didn't have to do that." Namjoon shot back.
"Yes I did." Jin says, careful not to let his anger seep through his words.
"Whatever." Namjoon waves Jin away.
And that's when Jin really snaps, he's had enough of this.
"Oh really? So if I don't pick you up where would you be? Huh? You'd be laying dead somewhere if it weren't for me!" Jin shouts at the taller male.
"Oh, here we go again, stop exaggerating! I can take care of myself!" Namjoon spits back.
"I'd like to see you try, you'd drink yourself to death if it weren't for me picking you up and sobering you up everynight! I fucking do everything for you! I make sure your okay even when I'm not! Your a fucking asshole! I've never once heard a 'thank you' come out your fucking mouth! Your an ungreatful bastard, Namjoon!" Jin screams, and at this point there are tears running down his face everywhere.
Even Namjoon is surprised at his boyfriends sudden outbsurst.
"You don't get it." Namjoon says harshly and turns to walk out the door.
"Oh really?! Because I never seem to get anything! What am I to you Namjoon?! I'm not your fucking toy, and I can't do this anymore!" Jin screams making Namjoon stop in his tracks.
Namjoon just walks out and Jin is left a sobbing mess on the living room floor.
Jin angrily stands up and packs everything of his, anything he's bought for Namjoon, any pictures of them together he throws away or smashes. He puts all his things in a suitcase and leaves it in the living room.
He walks around the apartment and removes every picture that has him in it. He removes every trace that he ever existed, and he hates it. He hates the fact he and Namjoon have become such a broken couple that he has to leave the man he loves behind.
Jin picks up his phone and calls Yoongi, while still trying to calm his breathing.
"Jin hyung?" Yoongi answers the phone extremely confused, because he knows Jin hates phoning anyone.
"Yeah, it's me, Yoongi-ah." Jin sniffles.
"What happened?" Yoongi asks camly. Yoongi was always one of those people that never really panicked too much.
"I-I just can't do th-this anymore." Jin sobs.
"What happened this time?" Yoongi asked sympathetically.
After Jin explained their argument this morning, and how he'd packed his things Yoongi sighed heavily.
"You can stay with me if you like, hyung." Yoongi says softly.
"Thank you, Yoongi-ah." Jin smiles a little.
"Do you want me to come pick you up?" Yoongi asked.
"Please." Jin nodded even though Yoongi couldn't see.
"Alright, I'll be right there." Yoongi said as he hung up.
Then Jin took a look at the apartment that had so many memories and so many firsts.
He remembers when Namjoon and he first fought, the first time he got a phone call from Hoseok to pick up Namjoon from the bar, the first time Namjoon insulted Jin, the first time Jin insulted Namjoon, when Namjoon had sworn he would always love Jin and care for him with all his heart. When Jin told Namjoon he would stay by his side forever.
Jin took out a piece of paper and pen and wrote a note for Namjoon, the man he still loved very dearly.
***
He took one last look as he wiped more tears away before walking out the door with his suitcase in hand to meet Yoongi in the parking lot.
***
When Namjoon opened the door the apartment felt empty, too empty. He had brought flowers to Jin to apologise and dropped them onto the floor when he realised Jin's things were nowhere to be seen.
"Jin?!" Namjoon shouted into the empty apartment.
He searched the whole apartment, but Jin was nowhere.
When he sat on the bed and put his head in his hands he saw a piece of folder up paper on the dresser from the corner of his eye.
He picked it up and hesitantly opened it.
"I'm leaving, Namjoon. I'm not coming back, I can't take anymore of this, it's breaking me inside, my hearts so damaged. I wish we could always be the perfect couple we used to, not the one we turned into, always fighting and drinking and all those awful things. I suppose it's good it's over, we're both better off, right? Everything will be okay, I believe it.
Namjoon, have a wonderful life, and please stop drinking, for me. I love you.."
And just like that Namjoons world crumbled.
"No, Jin you can't leave me, I love you so much, I don't know how to live without you." Namjoon began sobbing, tears soaking the piece of paper.
Namjoon stood up and threw the piece of paper, kicking the dresser resulting in the lamp falling off and smashing. He went around the apartment, punching walls and sobbing. He didn't know what to do with all the pain in his chest, he didn't know how to deal with losing the love of his life.
***
And as Jin rests his head against the headboard in Yoongi and Jimin's guest room, Namjoon is doing the same in their-or now, Namjoons apartment on the other side of town.
They both sit, awake, wondering where they both go from now.
