Yoongi is waiting at the bus stop for his Hoseok, and has been for the last 10 minutes. He's getting impatient, and he's going to be late for school if Hoseok doesn't hurry up.
He waits for a few more minutes, checking his phone regularly for any texts from Hoseok.
He's about to call when he hears someone shout behind him.
"Yoongi hyung!" And Yoongi turns around to see an out of breath Hoseok running towards him.
"What took you so long?" He sighs.
"I woke up late, sorry ,hyung." And Yoongi can't help but forgive the boy when he sees his adorable smile.
Yoongi doesn't like people, Yoongi doesn't like relationships, and Yoongi certainly doesn't like love.
But Hoseok is his exception.
Yoongi isn't in love with Hoseok, but he sure does have a weak spot for him and his heart shaped smile.
"Hyung, the bus." Hoseok pulls Yoongi's arm making him snap out of his thoughts.
Yoongi stands behind Hoseok waiting to get onto the bus when he notices something.
"Hoseok is that a hickey?" Yoongi asks with wide eyes.
Hoseok immediately turns around with wide eyes.
"What? Where? A hickey?" He asks touching his neck up and down.
"There." Yoongi narrows his eyes and points to the light bruise on Hoseoks neck.
Hoseok winces and smiles shyly.
"Oh, that," Hoseok laughs awkwardly, "well uh, I went paint balling with my cousin.. And well, yeah he kinda shot me in the neck." And Yoongi laughs and feels his body relax.
At least Hoseok wasn't getting it on with someone, and Yoongi knew he never had a chance with his best friend, but Hoseok could get anyone; he was a cute energetic ball of sunshine. And Yoongi also happened to be very possesive of him.
"Hyung." Hoseok poked his side when they were on the bus.
"Hm?" Yoongi hummed.
"Will you come over this weekend? My dad got the tent out and I kinda wanna sleep in it." Hoseok smiles sheepishly.
"Sure." Yoongi shrugs.
"Thanks, hyung." And Hoseok leans his head on his shoulder.
Skinship between them wasn't at all rare, but Yoongi just shrugged it off because they were best friends. And best friends like skinship. Right?
***
Hoseok is acting strange at lunch, and Yoongi tries to listen to what he's whispering in Seokjin's ear, but he can't hear a thing in the crowded class room they're in.
***
When school ends Yoongi goes to the school gates and sees Hoseok waiting for him, like he does everyday.
He greets him and Hoseok greets him back with his signature heart smile.
But after 5 minutes they're walking in silence, and it's not the comfortable type either.
"What's wrong?" Yoongi asks with furrowed eyebrows. Hoseok is never like this, he's energetic and bubbly, and henever shuts up but Yoongi likes that.
Hoseok's eyes snap up to Yoongi from where they were staring at the sidewalk.
"Uh, nothing, gotta go, bye!" Hoseok calls and runs up the sreet to his house.
Yoongi just sighs and walks to his own house, wondering what was on his best friends mind to make him so quiet and so unlike himself.
When he gets home he texts Hoseok.
'What was wrong today?'
He gets a reply 20 minutes later, which is also unlike Hoseok, usually he would get a reply instantly.
'It was nothing, I just have alot of school work'
Yoongi frowns, he knows that's not true.
'Well, whatever is wrong, tell me when your ready' He replies back and sets his phone down on his bedside table.
***
When he wakes up he has 4 texts from Hoseok, and he yawns rolling his eyes.
"What does he want now?" Yoongi mumbles to himself going onto his texts.
'Hyung, what time will you be over today?'
'Hyungggggg wake upppp'
'Wake up wake up wake up'
'Its a saturday, your wasting half the day'
And Yoongi laughs at his best friend.
He checks the time and sees it's nearly 12. He rolls over and gets out of bed.
"The things I do for this kid." Yoongi smiles a little.
***
He's round Hoseok's house an hour later, watching Hoseok excitedly carry blankets into the tent.
"Why are you so excited?" Yoongi arches an eyebrow and Hoseok turns around.
"We're camping, hyung!" Hoseok cheers and Yoongi scoffs.
"So?"
"So, we get to camp, I love camping." Hoseok smiles and Yoongi rolls his eyes.
They spend all day sitting where Hoseok has decided to camp, which is in the woods by Hoseok's house.
It's a nice woods, Yoongi remembers coming here with Hoseok when they were younger, and the memories make Yoongi smile.
"Remember when you were 6, and you ate a worm because I told you it would make girls like you." Yoongi starts laughing and Hoseok pouts.
"That wasn't funny! It tasted gross and I didn't even get any girls." Hoseok whines.
"You certainly got me, didn't you?" Yoongi mumbles to himself and Hoseok looks up.
"What was that, hyung?" Hoseok asks sweetly.
"Nothing." Yoongi grumbles.
***
Yoongi and Hoseok are sitting by the camp fire Yoongi had managed to light up and Hoseok sighs.
"Something on your mind, Hobi-ah?" Yoongi asks, using his nickname that he knows Hoseok loves.
"Do you.. Do you ever feel like you don't belong?" Hoseok asks and Yoongi gives him a confused look.
"In what way?" He asks wrapoing his arm around Hoseok's shoulder.
"I need to tell you something." Hoseok says and sits up straight moving away from Yoongi.
"What is it?" Yoongi frowns.
"You won't think differently of me, right?" Hoseok asks.
"Of course not, you'll always be my best friend." Yoongi says and Hoseok manages a small smile.
"Hyung, I- I think I'm gay." Hoseok says and avoids Yoongi's eyes.
"So?" Yoongi laughs a little.
"Well, don't you think it's a big deal?" Hoseok asks looking at Yoongi with wide eyes.
"No, for the record, I'm pretty sure I'm not exactly straight either." Yoongi shrugs.
"I'm glad that that's out of the way, but there's something else I have to tell you." Hoseok says, playing with the hem of his hoodie.
"Hm?" Yoongi hums.
"Well, I-I don't know how to say this.. I uh, I think, I think.."
"Just say it." Yoongi moves and puts his arm around Hoseok again.
"I... I think I like you, hyung...As in, more than a friend.." Hoseok ducks his head to avoid Yoongi's eyes.
Yoongi's heart is going at 1000 miles per hour and he's not quite sure what he's doing, but before he knows it, he's pulling Hoseok uo to his level and pressing their lips together. Hoseok surprisingly kissed back and Yoongi could feel butterflies in his stomach.
The kiss was short and sweet, and there were no fireworks or sparks, like in the books. All it was, was two people sharing a kiss, and it made Yoongi's insides feel like jelly.
"I like you too, Hobi-ah." Yoongi smiled shyly and Hoseok just leaned his head on Yoongi's shoulder.
"I'm glad to hear that." And Hoseok can't stop the huge smile that's spreading across his face.
"Hyung, look at the stars!" Hoseok shouts and Yoongi pushes Hoseok away from him.
"Not so loud, brat." He says and smiles a little.
He looks up at the stars and they're shining bright.
With Hoseok by his side and the stars in the sky, in that moment, everything is just how Yoongi wants it to be.
