So this is it, the last chapter. I know this is a short story, but it is my first so forgive me! Tell me what you think though ok. I hope you all like it!

Chapter 14

 After a 12 hour trek, well more like me riding on Dominik's wolf form while everyone else used their superhuman strength and speed to travel, we finally arrived to the outskirts of Jonathan's territory. I saw the mansion perched up on top of the hill, and geographically speaking, he had the advantage. We had to find a way to break through his defenses. Being on Dominik's back was an experience. I thought it would be rough and uncomfortable, but it was actually quite the opposite. His jet black fur was soft to the touch. He leaped and ran across the forest floor with such grace and agile-ness you couldn't help but be amazed at him. I was. I'm so happy to have such a strong person as a mate. Now it was my turn to amaze him. I had to prove to him and myself that I was worthy to stand by his side.

"You are worthy meine liebe. More than worthy to stand by my side and I am honored that you chose me to stand next to," Dominik whispered in my ear as everyone took a break. I looked into his eyes and smiled before I gave him a kiss on his lips. It sent a sparks through my body and relished the feeling a simple kiss brought me. He cupped my face with his hands and kiss me even deeper. "Let's get you some rest ok. I know you must be tired from the journey."

I would be lying if I said that I wasn't tired. I didn't argue with him and snuggled closer to his body. He enveloped me in his arms and his warmth radiated from his body, acting as my own personal heater. The sun was about to set and we set up guards to keep a lookout. We plan to attack when the moon was high. It felt like even the goddess was behind us tonight because the moonlight gave her children the vigor and vitality that they needed. Rogues and banished vampires, I've learned, didn't benefit from this, of which I'm glad. We welcomed all the help that we can get. 

I closed my eyes and after what seemed like minutes, a shout woke me from my slumber. As if on reflex, I shot out of Dominik's embrace and grabbed my bow which I kept with me at all times. I crouched down and readied a bow and aimed for wherever the shout came from. I felt a hand on my shoulder and I turned to face Dominik with my bow aimed for his chest. He pulled up his hand in surrender, "whoa there meine liebe, calm down. It was just one of the patrol unit. It looks like they brought back a present for us."

I relaxed my form and turned around to see two wolfs flanking a vampire dragging another form across the dirt. It was a vampire, or rather a banished one. The vampire, one of Giovanni's coven member, threw the banished one into the middle of the circle which grew from all the commotion. 

"Speak now, wench, and I promise to make your death as painless as possible. What is your name?" Giovanni spoke with Maddie right beside him, their fingers entwined. 

"Please spare me, High One. My name is Shira and I am merely escaping from Jonathan and I stumbled across your camp. Please," the young vampire spoke in between sobs. 

"Why are you escaping Jonathan?" It was Dominik that asked this question.

"I will not speak to your kind dog!" Shira spat out. Blood boiled at hearing this I wanted to hit this woman bad after insulting my mate like that. Before I could do anything Giovanni spoke in his regal tone. 

"Be careful with your words. Those wolfs are my allies and friends. You'd watch your tongue when speaking to them if you do not want to suffer the consequences." I noticed Dominik tense. I looked up at him and was surprised to see him smile at Giovanni. I guess he liked the fact that he called him his friend and ally. "Now, answer his question. Why are you escaping from Jonathan?"

Shira whimpered at his words. "I'm sorry High One. Jonathan has been nothing but cruel to me. He's ravaged my body beyond words and killed my familiar in front of me a couple of years ago. His rule is without tyranny and the majority is tired of it. Many wish to escape but hesitate since they have nowhere else to go. They're merely following him because they have nothing else, no home. Nothing."

I couldn't help but fell sorry for the girl. To have your other half killed in front of your eyes...I don't even want to think about it. As if on reflex I held onto Dominik even tighter and he mirrored the action. I saw Maddie get closer to Giovanni as if mimicking my feelings. Maddie might have a tough exterior but she's always had a soft spot.

There was a long silence in the group, and I decided to speak up. "Can you tell us where to find Jonathan? If you do I give you my word no harm will come to you." Shira looked at me with her blood red eyes. I couldn't help but wince at the sadness and horror present in her eyes. She began to tear up but managed to say she would. She knew a back way and she could get a Small group in undetected. I don't know why but I trusted her. Something in my gut told me to trust her and that she was the key to ending all this. 

I looked at Dominik and hoped he knew where I was going with this. I plan to take a small group, through passageway while a decoy attack from the front. This way we can surprise Jonathan and hopefully end it quick with little damage to our side as possible. Dominik was impressed with my plan and relayed it to everyone. They all agreed to go through with it and we broke off into two groups: Giovanni and Maddie would lead the charge from the front and Dominik, myself, and a dozen werewolves and vampires would take Jonathan from the back. 

I said my goodbyes to Maddie and kissed her on her cheeks with a big hug. I turned to Giovanni and gave him a threat. "If anything happens to my sister I will pay it back to you a hundred fold." I couldn't help but mentally laugh at this. Me, a mere human, threatening one of the most ancient and powerful vampire in the wold and having said vampire agreeing to my condition. 

Our team walked up to the entrance to passageway. We waited for the signal that notified us of the beginning of the attack. 

We waited and waited for the signal. Sweat was coming down my forehead and my eyes darted back and forth, hoping to scope out any threats before they became one.

Finally we heard the sound, the first attack to the property. We continued through the back door and into an underground passageway. We turned left, then right, then another left, then another right, and after what seemed like a million more turns, we finally came across a door that led to the main floor. If it wasn't for Shira we would definitely have gotten lost under here. Dominik turned to face her, 'thank you. Now it's up to you to choose, will you fight with us or leave? Whatever you choose, you are free now."

The vampire looked into between all of us and stopped at me. She must have saw something in my eyes, my past or something, but she must have seen my determination too. She turned to Dominik and said, "I will fight. If it is the last thing I do, I want to see Jonathan die."

Dominik gave a nod and readied everyone before we surge into the mansion. He slowly opened the door and eyed the right and left. When he didn't see any immediate danger he open the door even more. We all walked out into a hallway. 

"Jonathan's chamber is on the second floor. There are going to be guards I'm sure with the attack outside but otherwise it should be empty since most of his followers are outside. I'm sure that once he is killed they will stop attacking." Shira said. 

We continued to the second floor and true to her words, there were only two guards outside the door. They were big but Dominik could easily handle them, the problem was doing it without Jonathan noticing.

Shira looked at the guards and smiled. She started whistling a tube as if trying to get one of their attentions. What the hell is she doing? Is she betraying us? Before anyone could do anything, one fo the guards spotted her and whispered something to the other one. A few seconds later he walked towards us. Everyone got tense and was about ready to strike and one of Giovanni's coven member was ready to rip out SHira's throat for betraying us.

The guard got closer and finally reached us. We were about to attack, but he called for Shira which made us stop. She got out of the vampire're clutches and hugged the guard.

"What are you doing here, you stupid girl. You're suppose to be gone. You're such a stupid girl, Shira. I told you I would come for you," the guard said in between kisses.

"I know but I came across High One Giovanni. He has planned to overthrow Jonathan and I wanted to help them. Please forgive me Silva. I had to come back to you. Please." We all watched the scene before us and our guards dropped slightly. We still didn't know what was going on."

"Shira..." She turned around at Dominik's call. 

"I'm sorry for not telling you Dominik, but this is Silva. He helped me escape. He and I have gotten close since the death of both our mates. I'm sorry to say but I used you just like you did me. I had to come and save Silva." Dominik eyed Silva before he spoke.

"Will you help us take down Jonathan?" Dominik asked Silva.

"Without any hesitation. Tell me what you need to do," Silva answered immediately.

"Is the other guard willing to help us or no? Also is Jonathan in his room? Does he have anymore guards in there?" Dominik asked.

"Yes he is. He does not care for Jonathan but merely following orders. He will help us. There are two guards in there, his trusted advisors. I don't know what is is but he's gone even crazier since he came back from a hunt a month ago. He went with a dozen guards but he came back with himself. He's been more nervous since then. No one knows why."

Was Jonathan...scared? He saw how easily Dominik and Giovanni killed his guards and he must have been nervous for his life since then. All that letter did was show a farce, to hide his true feelings. He was scared. He evoked the wrath of two powerful leaders when he messed with their mates and he overestimated his own strength.

Silva walked over to the other guard and spoke in a hush voice. The guard looked over to our direction and noded. We all made the turn and walked to the door. I readied my bow. This was it. I was going to see Jonathan again and end this nightmare. I looked at Dominik and gave him a nod. He reached for the handle and began to turn it. 

I pushed into the room and was surprised at the scene in front of me. Bodies littered the floor and and in front of the window there stood Jonathan. There were to more figures beside him and it was the vampire and wolf from my childhood they were they ones that were there the day my parents were killed. He turned to face us but it was too late. I aimed my bow at him and let it loose. As if in slow motion, it flew in the air and zeroed in on its target. Closer and closer it goes and for a second I thought it would reach it, but at the last moment Jonathan ducked and ran to the side without looking at his destination. 

That was a mistake for him because waiting there was Dominik. He had his claws out and was ready to strike. As soon as Jonathan reached his destination, Dominik had brought his claw down and decapitated him. Before the vampire could react, one of Giovanni's man and raced next to him and snapped his neck leaving behind a lifeless body. I ready my bow again and searched for the third target, the wolf. I turned to my left and saw him fighting one of our pack members. He easily oversized the warrior but our fighters knew how to fight and they would never back down. I aimed my bow at his head taking advantage of the distraction the warrior was offering. I let go of my bow and saw it whiz through the air and hit the wolf in one of his eyes. I readied another bow as he let out a loud howl. I let it go and this time it hit it's vital spot, the heart. It stumbled back and made it to the window. It tripped on its own feet and fell over the window onto the ground below with a loud thud. My hands trembled. I looked at Dominik and saw Jonathan's lifeless body and head on his feet. It was over. The nightmare came to an end.

YAY!!! My first story ever is complete! I'm really happy about it. I hope it is good. What do you think? Comment ok?! I'm thinking of doing an epilogue but I don't. Does anyone want it?
