[Durmstrang Draco: fourth year, fifth year]
THIRD PERSON
"The Triwizard Tournament? Here?" Ron whispered excitedly to Hermione and Harry after Dumbledore announced it.
Harry sighed, thinking Just great. More chaos at school while I'm still trying to figure out if I'm gay or not.
Then the Beauxbatons Academy girls made their entrance, to which Harry wasn't paying attention to. Ron was wooed by them, but they made no affect on Harry.
Maybe that just proves that I am gay, Harry thought as he saw almost all the Hogwarts guys (and a few girls of course) were just swooning over the Beauxbatons girls.
Then the next entrance caught Harry's attention. Not because of the sparks, or the fire, or loud stomping, but because of him. The Durmstrang boys came in and a certain blond boy caught his eye. He was in Durmstrang uniform like the others, and had white blond hair, was pretty tall, and it seemed like he had ... silvery eyes. Harry felt himself falling for the boy in that moment, and when the blond actually glanced at Harry and their eyes met, Harry was speechless.
Something flashed in the boy's silver eyes, and a small smirk made its way onto his lips. Then their eye contact was lost, and Harry felt empty.
Yep, Harry thought, I am definitely gay.
Then everyone gasped when they saw Viktor Krum, but Harry was still looking at the blond boy who was at the front of the room now.
Some more speeches and talking and 'no one under 17 entering' and then the feast started. Harry was disappointed when the Durmstrang boys all sat at the end of another table together, and not the Gryffindor one.
"Harry? Harry? Harry!"
He snapped out of his staring at the other table, and looked to Hermione.
She was looking concerned. "Are you okay, mate?" Ron asked.
Harry smiled and said in a quiet voice, "I'm gay."
Hermione just smiled and continued eating her food like his confession was nothing new. Ron laughed and started eating as well.
"Was it that obvious?" Harry asked.
"Yes, it was. We've known since second year," Hermione answered. "And just now, you weren't affected by the Beauxbatons girls, but you were staring at the Durmstrang boys like you just fell in love."
Harry sighed and thought maybe I did.
The boy Harry had been staring at, Draco Malfoy was his name, was currently looking at Harry Potter and smiling to himself.
Later, at lunch, Draco sat next to Harry at the Gryffindor table. Harry looked up, expecting to see Hermione and Ron who weren't there yet, but was shocked to find his newfound crush. He was even more beautiful up close, especially with a smile on his face.
"Hello, Harry Potter, correct?" He asked.
Harry practically melted at the boy's voice, and nodded, not able to speak.
Draco smirked, noticing this, and said, "I'm Draco Malfoy. I'm gay, and I currently have my sights set on you."
Harry was shocked at Draco's confidence, and blushed at what the boy had said.
"What about you?" Draco asked, scooting closer to Harry and putting an arm around his shoulders. "You must like blokes, because I know how you were staring at me earlier."
Harry blushed harder, and looked down, leaving Draco's arm.
His face was brought back up by Draco's spare hand, and Harry shivered at their close proximity. Draco's face was just inches away.
"I just r-recently figured out my s-sexuality," Harry said quietly.
Draco nodded, "Mm, and what is it?" He then leaned in even more.
Harry was lost in the silver eyes that were two inches from his. "I'm gay," he breathed out.
Draco smirked, pulled back and took his arm from Harry's shoulders. "Lovely." Before he left, he placed a kiss on Harry's cheek.
Harry felt his cheek after that, grinning widely.
Hermione and Ron sat across from him. "What was that about?" Ron asked, gesturing to where Draco was now sitting with the rest of the Durmstrangs.
Harry didn't reply, he just smiled and finally took a bite of his food. His two friends exchanged looks, then started eating as well.
Harry was now sitting with his friends in the room where the cup was. It was surrounded by an age line, to make sure no one under 17 entered. Fred and George tried of course, and failed. When Viktor entered, everyone cheered especially loudly. He looked at Hermione as he walked away, and she blushed slightly, looking down.
Ron didn't notice, but Harry raised an eyebrow at her.
He then looked up to see Draco staring at him. When their eyes met, Draco smirked his all famous smirk, and looked away.
Now Dumbledore was reading out the names of the champions that came out of the cup. First came Viktor, then Fleur, then Cedric. All was good and well until another name came out of the cup. Everyone was confused, and Dumbledore read "Harry Potter".
Harry stayed sitting, wondering if he was hearing things, but Dumbledore said it again louder. Harry stood up and made his way to the front, as basically everyone glared at him. He sneaked a glance at Draco who wasn't angry at all, he actually looked surprised and even ... Impressed?
Later on Harry could tell that everyone was angry at him, especially Ron. He argued with Harry and then started ignoring him. Harry fell asleep that night with a sad sigh.
The next morning, Harry sat at a secluded part of the Gryffindor table. He felt lonely until Draco sat next to him.
"I can see all your friends aren't talking to you," the blond stated, rolling his eyes at Harry's friends. "I mean, are they stupid enough to think you entered your name? It wouldn't have worked. So, I know it wasn't you, and I believe you. Though I am impressed that you're one of the champions, and only 14 years old."
"Thanks Draco, I guess you're one of the only ones who believe me."
"No problem, babe. Don't worry about being alone through all this, because if your friends are such jerks that they're going to ignore you all year, I'll be here for you. I'll also help you with the tasks if you like."
Draco was surprised but happy when Harry engulfed him in a hug. He wrapped his arms around the smaller boy, and rested his chin on the brunette's head. "Also," he whispered in Harry's ear, "I'm rooting for you over the others, even Krum."
"Really? You'd rather me win than the champion from your school?" Harry mumbled into Draco's chest.
Draco smiled and whispered, "Yes, definitely. Never liked Krum much anyways, but I've always had an interest in you raven. As soon as I heard about your story as a small child, I've always wanted to meet you. Over these past few years since you've entered the wizarding world, I've seen pictures of you and heard more about you - like how you're an excellent seeker - and I've honestly had a crush on you since first year, even though I'd never met you. Now that I have, and even though it hasn't been long, I definitely know that my feelings for you are strong."
Harry grinned as he hugged Draco even tighter. "I like you a lot as well, even though I haven't known you long. Also, I like when you call me raven."
"I will continue to call you that then, raven."
"What should I call you then?" Harry wondered aloud, "Hmm, how about ... dragon?"
"Sounds good to me, raven."
Then they pulled apart and started eating.
It was now the day before the first task.
"Harry! Raven!"
Harry turned around to see Draco, and he immediately smiled. He stopped so that Draco could catch up, then continued walking.
"What's up, dragon?"
They had been hanging out a lot over the past while, especially since out of all his friends, only Hermione had talked to Harry since his name had came out of the cup. She was usually hanging out with Ron, though.
"Have you figured out what to do for the dragons yet?" Draco asked.
They both knew because after Hagrid had showed Harry the dragons, Harry had told Draco.
"Yeah, Moody talked to me about it and I'm gonna summon my firebolt because flying is my strength I guess. Of course, I told Cedric about the dragons because it wouldn't be fair if he was the only champion who didn't know."
The next day, before the task, both Hermione and Draco visited Harry. They both hugged him and wished him luck. Harry was glad that at least Hermione knew he didn't enter himself, even if she still didn't hang out with him much. He just hoped Ron would come around. Hermione then left and Draco hugged him again, and kissed him on the cheek.
"You'll do great out there, raven, I just know it."
Harry smiled and repeated those words in his mind until it was his turn to go out.
Now all the champions had survived the first task. Ron came to talk to Harry later and told him that he believed him now that he didn't enter himself. Harry accepted his apology and they went back to being best friends. Harry was glad Ron believed him now, because he didn't know how he would survive without Ron and Hermione.
Now there was the talk of the Yule Ball and who would go with who. Hermione had a mystery date for the ball. Harry and Ron didn't know who it was at all. The twins told them to get a move on before all the good people were taken.
Harry could tell that Parvati and Padma liked him, but Harry wasn't interested in any girls. No, he wanted to go with Draco.
"So," Harry said one day when he and Draco were taking a walk, "did you get a date for the Ball yet?"
Draco laughed, shaking his head. "No, a girl from your school asked me, but I told her I was gay and left. I wasn't lying though, I am gay!" He chuckled and then looked at Harry, "There's only one guy I want to go with."
Harry sucked in a sharp breath, and looked away from Draco's intense gaze.
"Do you have a date yet?" Draco asked him, seeming nervous.
"No, I'm waiting for the guy I like to ask me," Harry replied, hoping Draco would realize he meant him.
I mean, they both knew that the other had a crush on him!
Draco's face seemed to fall. "Oh, well he's stupid to not have asked you yet."
"Dragon, you do realize you're the one I like right?"
Draco's face brightened. "Sorry, I just wasn't sure if you had started liking someone else instead. Will you go to the Ball with me, raven?"
Harry grinned, and kissed Draco on the cheek, "Of course, Dragon."
The night of the Yule Ball, Draco and Harry had a blast. They were also surprised to see Hermione's date was Viktor Krum, but soon got over it. Draco was an excellent dancer, so he guided Harry through the dances, and soon Harry was fairly decent as well.
Ron had found a Hufflepuff girl to go to the Ball with, and he seemed to have at least an okay time. People weren't surprised when Harry and Draco had came together, because ever since the other schools had arrived, it was pretty obvious the two boys liked each other.
Harry and Hermione took a break from dancing with their dates and went to talk to Ron, who was sitting alone and frowning.
"What happened to your date?"
"Yeah, and why the grumpy mood?"
They questioned him.
"She left with someone else because I wasn't dancing with her, and I'm not in a good mood because both of my best friends are falling for Durmstrang guys! Bloody hell, I'm the only one in our group that's sane."
"Well, I'm sure if you were into guys like Harry and I are, that you would like one of those boys. But you're straight Ron, so of course you don't like any of them."
"Yeah whatever. Just go be with your dates," Ron grumbled.
Hermione sighed and placed a hand on Ron's shoulder. "We'll see you later." Then she left to find Viktor.
Harry spared one last glance at the red headed boy, and then headed back to the dance floor.
Harry and Draco danced with each other until almost everyone was gone, and then Draco walked Harry to the Gryffindor Tower. They didn't kiss, but they exchanged a long hug and then parted ways.
The next task was the lake one. Cedric had helped Harry with how to open the egg, and now Harry stood with the other champions before the lake. He glanced at the Gillyweed in his hand one last time, and then put it in his mouth. He grimaced at the taste but chewed and swallowed. He thought about where Draco was as he started swimming underwater. Draco was there before the last task to wish him luck, but today he was nowhere to be seen.
Harry heard the voices he had heard from the egg in the prefects' bathroom, and swam in that direction. He found four people floating there, tied to the ground by their foot. There was a young blond girl, who Harry thought to be Fleur's sister. Then there was Cho, who was definitely Cedric's to get. Hermione was there too, for Viktor to get. At the end of the row was Draco, and that eased Harry's mind from wondering where Draco had been today.
Suddenly Cedric appeared and got Cho loose, about to swim away with her. He looked to Harry and pointed at his wrist, as if saying to get going because time was running out. Then Cedric left with Cho, and Harry looked back at the other three left. Could he really leave them here, and just take Draco?
But then Viktor came, his head a shark's head, and got Hermione. He swam away with her, and Harry looked at the young girl and Draco. He had to take them both, he decided. So he freed them both and started to swim away with them.
It was getting harder to swim because the Gillyweed was wearing off, so at the last second he pushed the two captors up so that they could float to the top. Harry managed to cast a spell which sent him flying out of the water, and onto the dock. Draco and the girl he saved were receiving towels and blankets to dry and warm up.
Fleur, who hadn't been able to finish the task, thanked Harry over and over again for saving her sister and kissed his cheek.
Suddenly Hermione rushed over to Harry and placed her thick blanket over his shoulders. "Harry, you must be freezing!"
He thanked her, and wrapped himself in the fabric. "You're not going to be last, you know. Fleur couldn't get past the Grindylows."
Harry nodded, "Yeah, I guess."
Then he was suddenly pressed against a boy's chest with arms wrapped around him. "Harry," Draco breathed into Harry's ear.
He pulled back and smiled at Harry, "I was your treasure to seek. I guess I really am important to you."
Harry smiled and caressed Draco's cheek with his hand, "Of course you are, dragon."
Then Draco leaned in and kissed Harry on the lips, and they both felt fireworks erupting in their stomachs. It was their first kiss.
In the end, Harry actually got second place, and that was awesome. Harry felt really happy that day, because of Draco and getting second to Cedric.
The third task, the final task. Now that one was terrible. Harry technically won the tournament, but Voldemort had come back, and Cedric died. It was all because of Moody actually being Barty Crouch Jr.
Now it was the day that Beauxbatons and Durmstrang were leaving.
"Harry, I promise to write to you often. I hope you will write to me, too." Draco said, standing in front of Harry.
Harry smiled, "Of course I'll write, dragon. And you will convince your parents to let you come to Hogwarts next year?"
Draco nodded, "I will try my absolute hardest. Now don't go kissing anyone else while I'm gone, okay?"
"Definitely not, I only like you."
"And I only like you, raven."
They shared one last hug and kiss, and then Draco left on the Durmstrang ship.
"Until next year, my love." Harry whispered.
