Tyler~

I was laying on my side on the bed, the sheets pulled down to my stomach, staring across the room to the window. The curtains were open and the very first glimpse of light was starting to show in the sky. I hadn't even gotten to sleep yet. I'd just laid here all night thinking about everything that has suddenly happened to me.

Marco never asked me where I'd been, so I never had to give an answer. Neil seemed pretty angry, but I knew it was because he cared and he was worried. Max had filled me in on a few things before he'd dropped me off. Like the fact I was staying with my Uncle now, until my parents thought it was safe back home. Apparently someone had broken into my room. Max explained that it'd actually been him, but that my parents didn't know.

He told me I was still dating Vienna, and it was actually her who set the two of us up in the first place. She'd encouraged it. He wasn't sure how much I'd told my friends, so he couldn't tell me about that, but he did say that Gunner was being strange and not talking to me. He said it's because of the incident at his house, not that he even remembered it.

So he filled me in on all the events I'd forgotten, and explained as best he could. But it was like being told something new, something you didn't know first off. It was hard to believe all this had happened, and why I'd forgotten them in the first place.

I'd killed two aliens tonight, without even thinking about it. I'd just taken them down with a natural instinct to protect. Protect myself? Or protect Max?

I couldn't remember that guy. As hard as I tried, I couldn't. But I wanted to.

I closed my eyes and pictured Max before me. He was laying there in my bed in front of me, smirking at me in the very dim light.

“Please remember me,” imaginary Max breathed onto my face.

“I'm trying,” I replied. And after that I tried to drift off to sleep to the thoughts of Max here with me.

“Uh!” came a muffled distant sound from out in the living room. I frowned and then smirked. I thought I'd been sensing some tension between my uncle and best friend for a while now. Looks like things have progressed in the few weeks of memory I'd missed.

Marco~

It was early, but I wasn't sure how early. 6? 7? Too early for a Saturday at least. I was sleeping on the couch in Neil's apartment, Tyler and Neil in their own rooms, but something was moving around in the room that woke me. I opened my eyes, but it was still dark and I couldn't see very well. The curtains were closed in the living room to block the light, but I could see a dark figure moving around the room. It was standing at the end of the couch near my feet, moving towards me slowly. I sat up quickly, opening my mouth to scream, but a hand covered my mouth.

“Shhh, it's me,” Neil whispered, sitting down on the couch edge near me. I relaxed, gulping down the scream that had crept up my throat.

“Don't do that,” I hissed, yanking his hand down from my mouth.

“Sorry,” he chuckled, leaning over me. “But I couldn't help it.” Then he pressed his lips to mine. It felt good, warm and inviting, and soothing. I forgave him right away, tucking a hand behind his head and pulling him down as I laid back on the couch. He climbed over me, one knee between my legs, and tilted his head to deepen the kiss. I let him, parting my lips to invite his tongue and he accepted.

“I was thinking...” Neil said, and I had a bad feeling about this.

“Mmm?” I replied, because I didn't want to properly address it.

“I'm your principal-” he started, but I shut him up by smashing my mouth back to his. I distracted him for a few moments with some intense tongue action, but he was persistent and pulled back again.

“Marco, listen,” he said. I tried to kiss him again but he pushed on my shoulders and pinned me down, holding me back. “Because of our status, if you're not serious about this you need to let me know now. I'm not going to risk my career for some boy who's looking for a quick hook up.”

His words stung me, but I understood them.

“I'm serious about you,” I told him firmly, waiting for the pang of pain to hit when he told me no. But Neil didn't speak, he just looked down at me for a moment through the darkness, before kissing me again.

“Good. Then you can't tell anyone,” he informed me. I still had one thing left to say before I let him keep me quiet.

“I'm gonna break up with my girlfriend in the morning,” I told him. He pressed his face into my neck and sighed.

“It's the right thing to do if we're going to continue this,” he said into my skin, sending a shudder through me. I grabbed at his shirt, pulling it away from his stomach.

“Does that mean-” I started, but Neil cut my off with a kiss.

“Yes, I'll break it off with my boyfriend,” he smirked and licked over my bottom lip.

“You better,” I told him and latched on, pulling him down to me.

“Oh really?” Neil chuckled, kissing the corners of my mouth. I moaned, and Neil moved so that both his legs were now between mine.

“Yes, or I'm dumping your ass,” I told him.

“My sexy ass,” he retorted and I laughed, loudly, then clamped a hand over my mouth and looked in the direction of the hallway where Tyler's bedroom would be.

“Shh,” Neil breathed, amused, and kissed me softly, not giving me a chance to reply with a smart comment. Neil's hand trailed down my bare chest, because I'd been sleeping in only my boxers, him in his briefs, and came to a stop on my crotch. I lurched, lust growing in my pelvis. The idea of doing anything with a man was still a little... strange. But if it was Neil...

“Is this okay?” he asked me, noticing my resistance.

“Yeah,” I breathed, wanting him to touch me more.

“This is your first time with a guy?” Neil guessed, but it seemed more rhetorical. “Then I'll save the big act for some other time, and make you want it more.” And then he slid his hand up one leg of my boxer shorts.

(Okay so i'm seriously loving on that song on the side there. It so suits Max's mood for this P.O.V right now!! MMmm yeah, good song!)

Max~

School.

Monday.

First Period English.

Tyler was sitting in the seat in front of me, copying the work off the board. Vienna was watching him from his right, frowning and trying to figure out what was going on with him. I'd read her mind a minute ago, she had no clue what was going on or why. Tyler hadn't told her anything.

Marco on the other hand, who was sitting on Tyler's left, was glancing at his best friend thinking some very curious things.

I wonder if he heard anything the other morning.

He didn't say anything to me, and acted pretty normal, but...

I wonder if he noticed anything.

I smirked and glanced back at my own blank page. What could Marco and Neil possibly have gotten up to? Actually I knew, Marco had sat still for precisely two minutes and fifteen seconds visualising exactly what he and Tyler's Uncle had gotten up to in the early hours of Saturday morning.

But, I didn't like invading people's privacy, so I quickly retracted the connection and left it at that.

I didn't access Tyler's mind to find out what he was thinking. I wanted to give him space and time to work things out, maybe try and remember. I'd decided to give him space physically too, keeping my distance and letting him be the one to approach me. Besides, I liked the idea of him coming to look for me.

No far he hadn't, but I wasn't phased.

Tyler turned in his chair and my eyes flicked up to see him looking back at me. He smiled when our eyes met and then shyly swivelled back to the front. A grin spread across my lips.

The classroom door was knocked on and then Tyler's uncle walked in. He went straight to the teacher and said something, then they both glanced at me. This can't be good, they both looked very serious.

“Max,” the teacher called to me, making every head in the room turn in my direction. “Your uncle is here to collect you.” I blinked at her. So way, that's impossible. I'd put that random couple from next door into a trance so they'd pretend to be my parents to enrol, there was never anything about an uncle. Then I'd taken them out of it, there's no way they'd come here looking for me, right?

I rose from my chair, well aware that Tyler was staring after me, wondering what was going on. I walked to the front and Neil led me out of the room into the hallway. There was a man standing there, he looked sullen with thick greying hair and blue eyes.

“I'll leave you two to talk,” Neil said and walked back towards his office. We watched the principal walk away and then the man turned to me.

“Hello Kiasorah,” he said.

“Hello father,” I replied. A smile spread across the man's lips and his eyes lit up.

“Aren't you going to give your old dad a hug?” he asked, holding his arms out. I stepped forward into his embrace and hugged my Juperian father.

“What're you doing here?” I asked, stepping back and looking at my father's human form properly. We did indeed look related in human form as we did in Juperian.

“We received your distress signal and your mother and I were very worried,” my dad said, turning so we could walk and talk away from my class. “Then we got your message saying you were okay and opting to stay here on Earth. I must say I was most alarmed to hear this news,” dad explained, going on.

“Father, I'm-”

“No Kiasorah, you're only 43, you're still young. Being a fleet commander doesn't make you responsible. I don't want you flitting around on another planet lovestruck by some Earthling, do you understand?” my dad hissed, low so no one would overhear, suddenly serious. I blinked at him, then bowed my head.

“You're right father. But this isn't some fling like you think it is. I love him,” I announced. It was my father's turn to blink with shock. He gulped, then scratched his chin where his human form had a few bristles. He believed me, because a Juperian could never lie about love. It is in our nature, our honour, our loyalty to our race. When a Juperian finds a mate, and he truly loves them, he is bound to them until the day he dies.

“It's that serious already...” my father muttered, mostly to himself. He seemed to be thinking about something, and I was blocked from reading his mind.

“Why are you here dad? We could have said all this over a call,” I asked. The fact that my father actually took the effort and security measures to come all the way here to see me meant there was something else going on. I knew I was right when my dad sighed and turned away from me.

“The Martian king has sent a message to the Star-C board,” my dad said reluctantly, back still turned to me. This was obviously difficult for him to say. “They have declared war if we don't hand you over in 24 hours. Of course, I managed to convince the board not to arrest you and throw you to them like dogs.”

“But...?” I knew there would be a catch, with the Star-C board, everything came with a price.

“But... when the Martian's drones embark for us, they want you to lead the embassy into war against them.” I brought my hands to my face and rubbed it, thinking about this. The board's condition meant I would be on the front line of the battle field, I'd be open game, it was like practically handing me over to the Martians anyway. The Martians would either take me back to their planet and kill me there in front of a crowd as a sign of triumph and dishonour towards me, or they'd shoot me down and kill me in battle. The first option was more likely. I was going to die either way.

“And if I run?” I asked, though I knew it was no use. You can't run from a Juperian Star-C board general, they will always find you. They have eyes even in the darkest most remote corners of the Universe. They saw and heard everything, and they always knew.

“I'd like to say I could hide you son,” my dad said, turning to look at me. Tears were swimming in his eyes and I had to look away. He hated this more than I did, and it touched me that he cared so much, when all my life he'd seemed quite hostile. He didn't approve of the way I lived my life, always getting into trouble, always stirring things up, always pranking the Martians.

“Then I will lead the fleet,” I mumbled, glancing back up the hall towards my classroom. Just inside that room sitting peacefully was the love of my life, and he didn't even know it. It'd be easy for him if I just disappeared. Maybe he'd wonder where I went, I hoped he would, but then he'd forget about me.

No, I thought suddenly, walking away was a cowards thing to do, and I was not a coward.

“I will come with you father,” I told my dad strongly, “But first I must say goodbye to someone.” Then I strode past him up the hall and burst through my classroom door. And amidst confused looking faces I made my way over to Tyler's desk. I grabbed the front of his shirt as I bent forward over his desk so that he was leaning forward and I pressed my lips to his in front of everyone. A few people gasped, a few whistled, I'm pretty sure Vienna got a lady boner beside us, but I didn't care.

“I have to go away now, but I'll be back,” I told him so only he could hear. He looked into my eyes, searching.

“Promise?” he asked me and a smile slicked onto my lips.

“Promise,” I told him and then left, leaving the room in peace. I meant what I said, I would be back. I'd do whatever it took to survive and come back to him, even if it meant killing every single Martian on that god damn planet. Even if it took me fifty years. I will always come back to him.

Plus, this was a great opportunity for me to get my vengeance on them for almost taking away my love.

I stalked over to my father and he nodded, leading out to his cloaked spaceship in the street over from the school. It was time to kick some Martian butt.

Farewell my Maxy!!! You will be missed :'(
