Timothee Chalamet as Josiah

~Jaden~

I woke up to the skin of my lower back being gently caressed.

"Mm..." I hummed in contentment. A warm kiss fell to the crook of my neck and my eyes opened slowly. I let my vision adjust to the light as strong arms pulled me close.

I was... definitely not in my room. I gasped, sitting up a little too quickly as I whipped my head around, finding Kris there. He'd been evidently startled by my abrupt surprise before a calming smile graced his lips.

"It's okay. We're in my hotel room, remember?" he read the curiosity in my mind. My eyes did a rapid sweep of his bare torso, with the rest of his body tangled in the sheets like mine and the events of last night saturated my thoughts.

I had amazing sex with Kris Hamilton.

Right here. In this bed. Last night.

No. He meant a lot more to me than just his name. Before he ever knew I existed, my heart pined after the attention of this boy that I worshipped in daydreams. So no, he wasn't just the heartthrob football star Kris Hamilton. He was my boyfriend, and he was all mine.

And, my, was he a legend in bed.

"Jaden... you okay?"

I snapped out of it and settled back down next to him. "I feel perfect," I whispered, still in a daze. Even as I looked at him, all I could think of was the night before.

"You like what you see," he observed, making my cheeks flush with embarrassment. I must've been staring at him for ages.

"Sorry. I-I can't help it."

"Please," his eyebrows furrowed. "Don't be sorry. I'm enjoying my view as well." He nudged my chin affectionately. I swallowed and closed my eyes, focusing on his precious touch. Suddenly it seemed like the slightest contact between us burned me with passion, and I craved him.

I moved closer, leaning down to his chest to kiss him there a few times. His hands ventured from my waist, to my hips, groped my thighs, then cupped my butt. He placed one of my legs between both of his, grinding into me.

My breath shattered. "W-we have to go back, don't we? Back home, back to reality?"

He sighed into my hair. "Soon, yeah. We can visit our little bubble of peace anytime you want though."

"One more time? Before we have to leave?" I laid on my stomach as he mounted me, his weight pressing my body into the soft mattress. His lips tickled the back of my neck, and he whispered that I was beautiful.

After a bit of shuffling, I soon felt the cold sensation of lube against me then his fingers giving a very sensual rub. I tried not to moan but failed woefully. It was such a pleasurable spot and he knew exactly what he was doing.

After a few blissful minutes, and my disgraceful begging, he pushed a thick erection into me. I hissed, gripping the sheets when the pain hit. I managed to smile when I successfully predicted the soothing kisses near my ear, and he stroked my curly hair knowing how much it comforted me.

We both let out satisfied exhales when he was fully inside. "Yes," I couldn't help but murmur in ecstasy. Jesus Christ... where has sex been all my life?

🎻🎻🎻

I walked through my front door around noon after Kris dropped me off. I didn't look nearly as glamorous as I did the night before. My hair was a bit of a mess, and I was carrying my fur coat.

I heard classical music playing softly, as always, and I could smell the aroma of food being cooked so I trudged into the kitchen to find my dad in front of the stove.

"Hi, Dad," I greeted. His dark eyebrows lifted when he saw me.

"You're back. You look..." He tilted his head, trying to find a word to describe my appearance. Ultimately, he couldn't come up with a single thing.

"It's only twelve; is that lunch?" I nodded toward the food he was making.

"Oh, no. Um, we have a couple visitors so I decided to make something real quick. I'm about done."

"What visitors?"

He was so busy staring at my neck that he completely missed my question. Reaching out, he took my chin in his hand and gently moved it to the left so he could get a better view. "Is that..."

I quickly cupped my neck, realizing that there was an obvious remnant of what transpired between me and Kris last night.

"A hickey," Dad snorted. "Rough night, was it?"

My cheeks reddened severely as I closed my eyes in embarrassment.

"You know you can tell me anything, right? I say it all the time. So... did you?"

I sighed, looking back at him. "I um... yes. We did," I quietly responded.

"Your first time?"

I nodded timidly but Dad just squeezed my shoulder with an understanding smile. "Please tell me you used protection. We both suffered through a painful talk about safe sex earlier this year; it wasn't all for nothing, was it?"

"We were safe. I promise." Well, for the first round, I amended in my head.

"Good. So tell me." He turned off the stove and grinned. "Was it nice?"

"Dad!" I whined with a grimace, turning around to go to my room. I heard his laughter all the way up the stairs.

"It matches your eyes!" Emery squealed as Raina laughed.

"You should be a professional!" That was definitely a boy's voice, and although it wasn't very deep, I could tell he was not a small child.

I frowned in curiosity, setting down my belongings and moving to my sisters' room door, which was about half open. I popped my head through it and found my siblings putting nail polish on a boy who I rightfully guessed to be in his teens.

He was smiling brightly, and I was quick to notice his nasal cannula which provided him oxygen.

"Jaden!" Raina put down her polish and ran over to give me a hug. I picked her up as Emery and the boy's attention were drawn to me.

"Hey, baby girl," I hugged my sister back.

"You were with Kris weren't you?" my sister teased, her shimmery golden-green polish hovering over our guest's fingernail.

I just decided not to answer that.

"I'm Josiah!" the boy introduced himself, drawing in an audible breath. "My imaginary friends call me Jo, so take your pick."

I had to laugh at that. "My name's Jaden..." I didn't mean for my confusion to be so obvious, but he quickly caught on.

"My mom dragged me here, sorry. She doesn't let me out of her sight no matter how much I assure her I'm fine on my own." He then pointed to his breathing tube. "Then of course, it's entirely possible I could rebelliously take this out and die from asphyxiation all alone."

I didn't know if I should've been relieved by the smile on his face or afraid for him.

"Just a joke," he explained, waving his hand. "My humor isn't always so dark, I promise."

"I don't want you to die," Emery pouted, picking up his hand again.

"No worries, Ems. As long as I'm getting treatment, there's no reason I can't live as long as the average person."

She giggled when he called her Ems.

He smirked at her. "Let's just hope my mom can afford it for the rest of my life, haha."

"Don't say that!" she swatted at his arm with a heavy pout.

"Why ... sorry if I'm nosy, but what exactly..." I tried to ask, and he was thankfully swift to understand.

"I have apnea. It usually just affects my sleep, but I have respiratory issues during the day as well. My brain doesn't tell me to breathe sometimes, basically. Selfish bastard." He inhaled deeply. "Like um, I kinda need that to live, ya know?" He shook his head in mock frustration, and I laughed at his quirkiness. Ironically enough, he was a breath of fresh air. He wasn't bitter about his condition and that was encouraging to witness.

Wait a minute...

"You have sleep apnea?" I put Raina down and let her run back over to her nail polish. "Is your mom downstairs?"

"Yeah, she was adamant about talking to your dad."

"Did she teach at Whitewater High?"

He nodded. "You were her student, I'm guessing?"

I shifted my weight, looking down at the soft carpet. "I was, but... she quit. I didn't think she'd visit though, or that I'd ever see her again."

"You're mad at her," he observed. "I thought it was odd when she told me she had to leave. Mom loves it at that school, plus it was her only source of income. I was shocked. What happened?"

"She didn't tell you?" I furrowed my eyebrows and he just shook his head solemnly. I sighed. "I'll let her tell you. You'd rather hear it from her anyway."

"Okay," he trusted before gazing at his nails to admire Emery's handiwork. "Ah. It really does match my eyes." He blew on it before showing it to me. "She's good."

I smiled. "It suits you. How long are you guys staying?"

He just shrugged. "Maybe for a while, with the way our parental units were eyeing each other. Is your dad single?" His curiosity was innocent; almost childlike.

"Yes. Sort of, I guess," I hesitated.

Josiah picked up on my discomfort. "Oh, okay. I won't ask questions."

"You're fine. I'll leave you guys to it." I backed out of the room and went to my own so I could get out of my overbearing outfit. I had a quick shower because if I were in there too long, I'd be in my head. And as much as I would've liked to focus on Kris and how passionate our time spent together was, the only thing clouding my mind was Ms. C and my mother, who was nowhere to be found.

Great.

I wore a large t-shirt, sweatpants, and socks before walking out of my room. When I made sure that my sisters were still entertaining Josiah with their nailpolish and kids makeup, I rushed down the stairs.

Dad was setting the table with her help, and they were laughing together for some reason. I thought he'd be mad... didn't he know what she did? My hands balled into fists as I marched toward them.

"No need to set a table for six; I'm not eating," I said as they both turned around. I knew my former teacher's eyes were on me, but I kept my focus on my dad. I couldn't look her in the eyes just yet.

"Son-"

"I won't do it. I won't be in the same room with her."

"Jaden, please. I only came to..." Her sentence faded when she was met by my contemptuous glare.

"I'm not eating," I repeated to my dad.

"I understand why you're upset, love, and I was too when she arrived with her son. She explained everything, apologized and answered all my questions honestly. I'm not saying all is forgiven, no. But she didn't have to come all this way. I believe she's sincerely sorry."

"Maybe. But I'm the one who has to show my face at school. Although your talk with the principal helped for literally one minute, the kids are right back to picking on me." I folded my arms, trying to pull myself together. "Mom's gone, did you know that?"

"Gone?" my dad stepped closer with confusion in his eyes. "You went to see her?"

"Two days ago, and she's not at the trailer. That weird guy, Jett? He doesn't have a clue where she is." I quickly stopped myself from speaking further, remembering who was in the room with us. I looked at Ms. C. "Please try not to tell Corbyn my mother has disappeared."

Her face sank with guilt and my dad gave me a warning glance. In a stern voice, he commanded, "you aren't going back to that trailer park. I'll get to the bottom of all this, but for right now go get your sisters and Josiah. We are all eating."

I knew that was final, and if I talked back to him I'd be in hot waters. I was about to turn around when my father called me back.

"Get me the names of those kids, whoever picks on you. I'll be making phone calls to one hundred parents this week if that's what it takes."
