"A double date?" Will asked skeptically. "Ryan and I haven't even been on a date ourselves yet and you want us to go on a date with you and Tyler?"
Liv spun around on the spot she stood to face her friend sitting on the bench. "Yeah, why not? What's wrong with me and Tyler?" she asked defensively.
"I don't know. Maybe the fact that I don't want go on my first date with Ryan while a girl who doesn't like him and her boyfriend who isn't fond of me tag along?" Will replied, evidently showing his disdain of Liv's idea. "I'd rather not, thank you very much."
"I don't don't like Ryan," Liv countered feebly.
"Oh, please! Last year in Chem, I had to hold you back before you threw acid in his face!" Will exclaimed.
Liv sighed, knowing Will was right. She had always been irked by Ryan's existence and she wasn't all that jazzed when Will said he and Ryan were gonna go on a date. But she was the best friend, so she had to suck it up and accept it. "Okay, fine. You're right. But he wouldn't stop singing Party in the USA and he needed to be stopped," she scowled, remembering his awful, off-key rendition of that dreaded song.
"I like how you just didn't defend your boyfriend when I said he didn't like me," Will said, deciding to change topics.
Liv sat down next to her friend. "Yeah, well, he's not your biggest fan," she sighed with a shrug. "Ah, look it your boyfriend," she added mockingly.
Will hit her on the arm before turning to see an approaching Ryan. "What was that for?" his friend grumbled next to him.
"So, so, soo many reasons, but you gotta go," Will replied, trying to shoo her away.
Liv stood up with a dramatic sigh. "Fine, fine, fine, but use protection!" she announced as she twirled past Ryan and tangoed alone down the corridor.
Ryan looked over his shoulder to see her go before looking at Will with a look of confusion. "What was that?" he asked, sitting down next to the redheaded boy.
"That's just Liv being, well, Liv," Will sighed as he laid his on the brunette's shoulder. "What've you been doing?"
"Spent most of lunch looking for you. I found your other three friends in the library and they told me that Liv made you go with her to the canteen. I was about to head there but bumped into you here, obviously," Ryan explained, popping one of Will's grapes in his mouth. "Why are you sitting here? Are we even allowed to sit here?" he asked with his mouth full, referring to the secluded courtyard they were currently sat in, one which no-one really went to.
Will turned his head up to look at Ryan. "Don't do that," he scolded the brunette but Ryan just smirked in return. Will shook his head in disapproval as he put his head back on the other's shoulder. "Liv hates the library, y'know, with having to be quiet and all, so she made me come with her. She wanted to discuss some stuff," he answered.
Will wasn't sure if he wanted to bring up the whole double date thing. He and Ryan were supposedly taking things slow and he felt like if he brought up the date thing, that would be pushing it. Will was sure that his thinking wasn't all that logical but he wanted things to be natural. Mentioning the double date idea felt like he was saying "c'mon Ryan, take me on a date."
OK, truthfully, he really wanted to go on a date.
Real bad.
"What stuff?" Ryan had asked curiously.
Will bit his lip, still debating in his head. Impulse, however, got the better of him, and he blurted out, "Liv wanted us to go on a double date with her and her boyfriend," before muttering an "ah, dammit."
Will watched Ryan to see his response. He could see the wheel's turning in the brunette's head as he debated what to do. Will's mood deflated once he got the sense that Ryan was about to turn him down. He was surprised, however, when Ryan replied, "we should probably go on our own date before we go on a double. How 'bout tonight?"
"I-I uh, yeah, sounds good," Will stammered, looking up at, well, his date.
"Great," Ryan smiled, looking down at the redhead.

"He's taking you out to dinner?" Liv whispered in Philosophy, about half an hour later.
"Yeah, he was talking about this nice Italian place near my house that he said I'd like. Enzo's, I think?" Will whispered back, not really paying attention to the geriatric priest prattling on at the front of the room. He was discussing how the movie they'd been watching recently, Minority Report, had to do with reality. Will would usually love to listen to Fr Harries' philosophical determinations of a Tom Cruise Hollywood blockbuster, but his mind was preoccupied with other things at the moment.
"Yeah, Enzo's is pretty good. My uncle eats there so often, they named a dish after him: Ravioli alla Luigi. Uncle Mario's pretty jealous," Liv whispered.
"Wait, wait, wait, your uncles are called Mario and Luigi?!" Will exclaimed, a bit louder than he intended. Liv shrunk in her seat with embarrassment as everyone turned to look at them.
"They were born before the characters," she informed the class meekly.
The priest cleared his throat to get everyone's attention. "If you wouldn't mind, I would like to continue my lesson," he said before returning to whatever he'd been saying.
"I hate you," Liv whispered once everyone stopped looking at her. "I hope your date goes horribly wrong," she added pettily but Will just rolled his eyes.

"Well, you clean up nicely," Ryan said as Will opened his front door, presenting him with a red rose. "To match your hair," Ryan added with a grin.
"Hi to you too," Will said as he closed the door behind himself. He took the rose with a smile, giving Ryan a quick peck on the cheek. "You clean up well yourself," he added, giving the brunette a quick once over.
"Stop undressing me with your eyes, we can do that later," Ryan joked as he took Will's free hand and pulled him to the car. Once he'd helped the redhead into the car, Ryan raced to the other side and jumped in. "You ready?"
Will nodded and the two were on their way to the restaurant. Surprisingly, "near my place" actually was near Will's place. Ryan pulled up to the Italian restaurant only 10 minutes away. Will was surprised that he'd never heard of or even seen the place before, and even more surprised that a place this nice was in a neighbourhood like his.
Once they had made their way inside, Will noticed the Tuscan themed décor, with an earthy colour scheme, frescos of vineyards on the walls and a soccer game being played on the big screen. The restaurant was packed, with pretty much every table filled. Will was quite surprised that it was so busy for a Wednesday night. Ryan had mentioned his reservation to one of the waitresses and they were led to a nice table by the window that overlooked the park right next door.
"This place is so beautiful," Will said as he continued to look around. He looked back to Ryan once he'd seen everything to find the brunette gazing at him fondly. "What?"
"Nothing here is as beautiful as you are," Ryan said, almost purred.
Will broke out in giggles. "That was so cheesy," the redhead said, shaking his head as he tried to ignore the blush spreading across his cheeks.
Ryan took one of Will's hands in his and put his other hand on Will's cheek. "You still liked it though," Ryan grinned, stroking the other's cheek with his thumb.
"Shut up," Will rolled his eyes as he batted away the hand on his face. "This place is really busy tonight, how'd you get us a reservation so quickly?"
"I have my ways," Ryan answered cryptically before flagging down a waitress and ordering drinks and some garlic bread. It was only then that Will looked down at the menu. The first thing to grab his attention was the price of the meals. Now, Will wasn't poor but this was a lot more than he'd expected it to be. Ryan, noticing his date's shock, said, "Don't worry, I've got it. I was the one who asked you out."
Will was about to protest but he was interrupted again. This time, however, it wasn't Ryan, but someone else at the table next to him.
"Oh my god, Will, what a coincidence!" they exclaimed.
No goddamn way... why?!
