FAQ

1)      Why did you kill off Rowan and Justin??

I wasn’t sure when I started the story how I was going to end it. Initially I thought I’d have them run away together, or maybe even fake their own deaths, but the former seemed anti-climatic and the latter seemed wayyyy too dramatic. About halfway through writing I decided to stay as loyal as possible to the ending without making it entirely unrealistic – Rowan and Justin, as characters, weren’t right for suicide, if I may put it so bluntly. In the end, they died together, because of one another, like old Will said they did XD

2)      Is there going to be a sequel?

Nooooo, don’t be silly. First of all, Rowan and Justin are dead. There’s no coming back from that XD Secondly, Shakespeare didn’t write a sequel and so of course neither will I.

3)      Why didn’t we get to see what happened to Tyson and everyone?

Well, considering it was in first person narrative from Justin and Rowan’s perspectives, it would have been strange to continue the story after their deaths. The newspaper article outlines how the town reacted to the event, and hints that the rivalry between the schools will end, which kind of alludes to how Tyson, Ben, Mitch, and Nate will spend the last few weeks in Verona before heading off the live the rest of their lives.
