Scorpius' P.O.V
Three months in and I still hated school. It was bloody awful. I mean, you're thrown into a building with people you don't particularly like who don't particularly like you, it's torture. At least school would be done at the end of the year and I would be free.
The bell sounded and I packed my stuff up quickly making my way out of the classroom that held me hostage for over an hour. I skidded out and then ran down the steps getting on my skateboard to ride home. It was a short ways from the school and I got there in no time. I walked through the door and immediately smelled food.
"Mum?" I yelled from the foyer.
"In the kitchen sweetheart." She yelled back. I kicked off my shoes and placed my skateboard against the wall. I walked out of the foyer passed the stairs and into the kitchen where my mother was. "Hello love, how was school? I baked you some cookies."
"School was alright and thank you." I acknowledged and sat on the stool at the island. She pushed the plate of cookies towards me. She was looking at the telly which was the news.
Still no sign of Albus Potter, 15, who has been missing for a little over three months. Police intensify their search in hopes that he is still alive.
The lady on the news said and a picture of the boy popped up on the screen. I had seen that face for three months now. Beautiful green eyes and messy black hair. He was smiling as he was riding a horse.
"Poor thing." My mother muttered. "His parents must be worried sick."
"Do you think he's dead?" I asked and my mother simply sighed.
"That's not my place to answer."
"Why not?" I asked. "I think he's alive."
"I know Scorpius, you say this every day." She told me. "Now eat up." She directed and I ate a few more cookies before leaving the kitchen to go upstairs. I walked into my room and went straight for my laptop that was on my desk. I sat down and I typed in Albus Potter. I found it strange that this kid just vanished and no one had heard from him.
Boy Lost
Albus Potter, 15, who vanished three months ago while on a family trip coming home from his grandparents has still not been found. His family reports that he wandered away as the family went to get gas.
"He asked to stretch his legs and we had been in the car for a while. I told him he could but to stay close. When I turned around he was gone." Albus' father reports. There have been other reports that many had seen the boy with an elderly man but other people report that he was seen wandering away in his lonesome.
I scratched my face and typed in the story with the elderly man. I read up on that and then stories of Albus in general. I must have been in my room for a while because a knock on my door scared me.
"Scorpius." My father walked in.
"Yes?" I asked and he looked at my laptop.
"It's dinner time." He told me. Then he walked in and sat on my bed. "Scorpius, you need to end this little obsession with this boy." My father told me.
"But da-"
"No Scorpius, you have been looking up this boy for months now, almost since his disappearance, you need to focus on school." He told me.
"But dad, he just disappeared! Don't you think it's strange?" I asked and he stood up.
"Yes but it happens sometimes. He must have gotten lost and then was taken."
"Then why can't they find him?"
"I don't know Scorpius." He sighed. "Dinner is waiting. Your mother and I need to talk to you." He told me and I sighed. I trotted with my father down the stairs and to the table which was set. For dinner we would be eating turkey and mashed potatoes. I sat in my seat as my father took the head. We were severed in silence then I broke the silence when my mother took her seat.
"What do you need to talk to me about?" I asked.
"Well Scorpius, your father and I have been looking at houses, bigger ones and we've found one that's perfect."
"So at the end of the week we're moving in."
"Moving?" I gasped dropping my fork on my plate creating a loud clank.
"Yes we're moving to a few towns over." My father told me. "However, you'll be attending another school." He told me and I groaned. Again with the school.
"Or I could just not go to school and spend my days working." I smirked but my father shook his head.
"No Scorpius, you need to attend school. I don't want you spending your days on that laptop searching for that boy."
"But da-"
"No Scorpius! We are moving and you will be attending school. You will no longer search for this boy. It's a fresh start which means a fresh mind. Am I understood?" He asked me and I sighed angrily.
"Yes sir." I muttered.
"Great." My mother smiled. "Now eat up sweetie, you're far too skinny." She told me and I took a bite of my turkey. Fresh start my arse.
~~~
We moved in to the house and my parents were right, it was bigger than our old house. There were three bathrooms, four bedrooms, and two living rooms. The kitchen was huge and the dining room could fit ten. My room was rather large and I was able to get all my old stuff in the new room and then some. My desk put against a window where I had a view of the neighbor's house. I could peer in and just barely make out the other room. It looked to be another boy's room but the window and blinds were closed.
"Hmm." I hummed and then started to unpack some more.
"Scorpius!" My mother called. "We're going to meet the neighbors, come down."
"Okay!" I shouted back. I ran out of my room and then down the stairs to meet my parents at the door. We walked to the next door neighbor's house that was size of our house and rang he door bell. Soon enough a redheaded woman opened the door. She gave us a warm smile.
"May I help you?" She asked.
"Yes, we just move in next door. We'd like to introduce ourselves." My mother answered.
"Oh please come in." She opened her door wider and we walked in.
"I'm Astoria, this is my husband Draco and our son Scorpius." Mother introduced and the lady shook our hands.
"It's nice to meet you. I'm Ginny. Care for some tea?" She asked and we nodded. We followed her into her kitchen and sat at the table. "So how old are you Scorpius?" She asked.
"17." I answered.
"My son James is your age."
"Is that your only child?" Mother asked. Ginny's smile faltered as she put the water on the stove.
"I have two others." She told us quietly. "My daughter Lily who is 13. And my other son-"
"Ginny?" A male's voice rang out.
"Sorry, that's my husband." She told us. "In the kitchen Harry. The new neighbors are here." She called out and then a man appeared. His hair was black and unruly. His eyes were green and I gasped. These were the Potter's. Albus Potter aka the missing boy's parents. "This is my husband Harry. Harry these are the new neighbors the..."
"The Malfoy's." My father answered. He must have noticed that these were the missing boy's parents too because he got awkward.
"Nice to meet you." Harry shook his hand.
"I'm Draco, this is my wife Astoria and my son Scorpius." My father introduced and we all shook his hand.
"Harry come sit, we're just having tea." Ginny told him and he took a seat next to me. He regarded me with a nod and I nodded back. The water went off and we were served a mug.
"So um Scorpius, are you ready to start school here?" Harry asked me.
"Not really sir. I don't particularly like school." I told him and he smiled shyly.
"You sound just like my son Albus." He told me and I tensed. Ginny sniffled a bit and then excused herself from the kitchen. "Please excuse our peculiar behavior. I'm not sure if you're aware but our son Albus has been missing for three months and it's taken a toll on the family." He explained.
"Oh we're terribly sorry." My mother told him. "Is there anything we can do?"
"Just hope that he comes back." Harry took a large sip of his tea. "We've been out of our minds since his disappearance."
"Can I ask you a question sir?" I asked.
"Scorpius." My father hissed but Harry shook his head.
"It's fine Draco." Harry told him. "Go ahead Scorpius."
"I just wanted to know if Albus was prone to helping others?" I questioned and he pondered a bit. His Adams apple bobbed when he swallowed.
"Albus is a kind boy. He's quiet and thoughtful. If he saw someone was need in of help then he would have been of assistance. Why do you ask?"
"If the rumors of him being taken were true, then he could have been lured by someone who pretended to be in help. Albus was old enough to know whether or not to wander away." I told him and stared at me for a bit before nodding.
"You're a bright young man. It's a pity you don't take an interest in school." He told me and I smiled a bit. "Do you believe he was taken?"
"I believe he was lured someone and then taken." I answered.
"I'm terribly sorry, our son has been a little...engrossed in your son's disappearance." My father apologized.
"I think it's nice." Harry answered. "Someone's paying attention to his disappearance. You'd make a great detective." He told me.
"Thank you sir." I took a sip of my tea.
"Well we better be on our way." My mother spoke up. "We've imposed a bit too much and we still need to unpack. It was great meeting you and do tell Ginny we said goodbye." She told Harry who stood up along with us.
"Thank you for coming. It was very nice meeting you too and please, don't be a stranger." He walked us to the door. "Good evening."
"See you soon Harry." My father said and then we left. I knew as soon as we got home, I'd hear it from my parents. We walked through the door but the explosion never came. My father sighed and looked at me.
"Come on Scorpius, I need help with unpacking the family room." He told me and I agreed.
"Yes father." I agreed. And for the rest of the night, no one brought up the Potter's not even me. But I did go to bed uneasy thinking of how awful it must be to have a child lost.
I have a new story! However, school has started up again and I've applied for jobs so this will be updated once a week. Usually on Fridays or Saturdays!
