Third Person P.O.V

          It was Albus' birthday which happened to fall on the day of Scorpius and James' graduation. Albus had always been a birthday brat he loved his birthday, unlike his boyfriend. However, he was really excited that he could share the day with Scorpius who was graduating the top of his class and giving a speech. James would not be giving a speech but he would be cheering on his good friend.

            As they got ready back stage, The Potter's and Malfoy's sat together near the front of the stage waiting for them to come out.  Albus was sitting next to Lily and Rose who were making him feel comfortable with the large crowd.

            "It's such a nice day out." Ginny commented. "Guess we got lucky that it isn't raining."

            "Thankfully it's not raining, I'd rather do the ceremony out here than in the gym." Astoria replied. Ginny just smiled at her new friend. The pair got along great and discussed their sons getting married... playfully.

            "Albus, are you alright?" Harry asked.

            "Yes I'm good." Albus nodded. "The c-crowds don't bother me as much." He told his dad. He was doing well since Dom was sentenced. He was more relaxed and he seemed to be a lot happier. He had come such a long way in the seven months he was home. He gained almost all of his weight back and he was much more talkative like his usual self. Sure there were days he would wake up from a nightmare but his boyfriend was right there through the window and then there cuddling him.

            "I'm happy to hear that." Harry reached over Lily and stroked Albus' locks as Albus hummed in contentment.

            A lady in black dress robes walked over to the podium and tapped on the mic to get the attention of the audience.

            "Attention, attention please." She spoke. "As you know, I am Miss McGonagall. I'd like thank you all for coming and congratulate you on your child's achievements." She smiled. "Welcome the class of 2022."  She announced and every started to cheer as Scorpius started the line of people out onto the lawn to take their respective seats.

            After everyone was sat, McGonagall came back and talked for a bit about the hard working students. She talked about the grades and how they were overall the best grades of the year compared to former students. Finally, she introduced Scorpius to speak. He stood up and a lot of people cheered for him. His face was flushed with a blush by the time he got on to stage.

            "Hello." He greeted and people joined in a chorus of hello's themselves. "I've been trying to think of a great speech to prepare everyone for their futures. And I couldn't think of one." He explained and everyone laughed. "I don't think it really matters what I say up here because that's up to you. Your future is yours and after today, you can do whatever the hell you want with it.  If you want to become an actor go out and become an actor. If you want to be a doctor, go be a doctor. If your grades weren't the grade this year, well sod that. I hated school, I still do and look at me, I'm the top of the class. But do I want to be a doctor? No. Do I want to be a scientist or an actor? No. What do I want to do? I have no bloody clue, I'm only 18 years old. But I can tell you that when I finally choose what I'm gonna do, it's gonna be what I want because I control my future. And you control yours. So I say, do what makes you happy because it's your life not anyone else's."  Scorpius finished the speech and everyone erupted into cheers. Scorpius blushed heavily and then chuckled to himself. He leaned back into the microphone and add, "Also, I'd like to wish my boyfriend Albus a happy birthday. Happy Birthday sweetie." He cooed and everyone awed. Albus' face flushed in an embarrassment so he buried it into his hands. Scorpius sat down as McGonagall talked for a few moments before calling every graduating person up in alphabetical order.  Person after person was called and finally they got to the people of the hour.

            "Scorpius Malfoy!" They called and Scorpius walked across the stage, grabbed his diploma and waved to the crowd. After he stepped down a few more people were called and then got to the second person.  "James Potter!"  Everyone cheered for James as Scorpius wolf whistled. He stepped down and Scorpius shot him a wink as he rolled his eyes.  After everyone was graduated, McGonagall said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, your class of 2022." She announced and everyone cheered while they threw their caps in the air.

            Students hugged each other and cried with each other. They dispersed and found their families.

            Scorpius immediately found his family and hugged both of his parents as James greeted his family. They were both congratulated by the two families. Scorpius turned to his boyfriend and smiled.

            "Happy birthday my love!" He cooed and hugged Albus tightly. "I love you." He whispered in Albus' ear. Albus grinned and kissed Scorpius' neck

            "I love you too. Congratulations." He told Scorpius who in response hugged him tighter.

Scorpius' P.O.V

            James, Albus and I all agreed to have a joint birthday/graduation party. Their whole family was invited alongside my family. We were having the party at both our houses because our backyards were actually connecting. Albus' grandmother, my mum and Ginny all cooked for the occasion. We were all outside as the buffet was being set up. All of Albus' family was there, including his outrageous amount of uncles.  We were sitting near everyone... well Albus was sitting on my lap because for some reason that was his favorite place.

            "You're getting old Albus." I told him and he rolled his eyes.

            "You're older than me." He told me and I smirked.

            "Yeah but you're getting old." I told him and his lips quirked up. He kissed me gently then placed his forehead against mine.

            "If I'm old, than what are you?" He asked.

            "Ancient." I teased and he giggled.

            "Food is ready!" Albus' grandmum called out. Albus got off my lap and went to go over there but I grabbed the back of his shirt.

            "No birthday boy, you sit and let me serve you." I pecked his lip and made him sit. "What are you hungry for?" I asked.

            "Um... some pasta and chicken?" He questioned and I smiled.

            "You got it." I ran over to the buffet and grabbed two plates. People moved for me so I could get Albus' food and mine. For my plate I got some meat and potatoes alone with bread for both of us.

            I was just about to sit down when I felt a tug on my arm. I turned and my grandmother was standing there with my father.

            "Congratulations." My grandmother hugged me tightly.

            "Thanks." I laughed. "I'd hug you back but my hands are full." I told her and she laughed.

            "It's okay. We, your grandfather and I, wanted to give you this." She placed an envelope in my pocket. I looked at my father who smiled and nodded.

            "Well thank you." I smiled and kissed her cheek.

            "We hope you use it well." She told me and then allowed me to walk off. I walked back to Albus' table and placed his food in front of him. He smiled at me as I took my seat next to him. I pulled out the envelope out of my pocket and Albus eyed it.

            "What's that?" He asked.

            "I dunno, my grandparents gave it to me."  I explained.

            "Well open it." He told me and I rolled my eyes.

            "Only if you take bite of your food first." I told him. He rolled his eyes but abided and took a big bite of his pasta. I grinned and opened my envelope. It was filled with a bunch of currency. I gasped and read the card,

To our little Scorpion,

            We're so proud of your accomplishments and we think you deserve a reward.

            Have a good trip, on us!

Ton of love, your Grandparents.

            "They're paying for the whole trip." I gasped and looked up at Albus. He swallowed and then furrowed his face.

            "Are you really gonna leave?" He asked and I frowned.

            "Not if you don't want me to." I told him and he shook his head.

            "I want you to go. You've been looking forward to this since the beginning." He told me and I smiled.

            "You don't mind?"

            "I'll miss you a lot but I want you to have fun." He told me and then took my hand in his. "You're my protector Scorpius and I will always be forever grateful. Have a good trip and take care of yourself for once." He told me and I smiled. I leaned in and kissed his lips.

            "I'm gonna miss you so much Albus. More than you know." I told him and I meant it. This boy changed my life.

~~~
            "So you're really going?" My parents asked as we got home.
            "Yes I am." I told them. "I'd really like to go and travel." I explained. They pulled me into a hug and squeezed me tightly.
            "Have you planned for a day?" They asked.
            "Two weeks. I'm gonna backpack across the continent and maybe go to America for a bit. I'll check in all the time with you guys and Albus."
            "What about Albus?" My dad asked.
            "He wants me to go." I smiled.  My mother sniffled a bit but nodded.
            "We approve Scorpius. You deserve to have a good year off. Make the most of it." She told me and I smiled.
            "I will mum. I will."
