Sorry bout that last chapter... Don't worry, things will get cleared up again soon :D Enjoyyyyy XD
Chapter Eleven
I was sitting in my bed, watching Spongebob when my phone rang. It had been almost a week since I was released from the hospital. Other than the fact that I sometimes got random migraines that last about a minute or so, I was perfectly fine.
"Hello?"
"Zeek! Hey, it's Weston!" I smiled. I hadn't talked to Weston since our date, but he did say he wanted to be friends...
"Hey Weston, what's up?"
"Well... I kinda have a favor to ask?"
"What is it?" He sounded kinda nervous...
"Well... There's this guy I like... like really like... but I'm not even sure if he's into guys... I was wondering if you could meet him, and we could act like a fake couple or something to see if he gets jealous?" I thought it over for a second.
"Sure. When?"
"I can pick you up in an hour?"
"Sounds good!" We hung up and I shut off my tv.
"Mom, I'm going out soon!" I yelled up the stairs.
"Don't forget your pills!" I fixed my messy hair and shoved my small bottle of pain pills into the pocket of my leather jacket. This was going to be one interesting day...

"So, tell me about this guy..." I was sitting in Weston's car, and we were going to the bowling alley, because apparently that's where the guy works.
"His name is Shane... He's kind of a bad boy... He rides a motorcycle, and he's got muscles that make me dizzy... But he also has a sweet side... He looks all tough, but the other day I saw him volunteering at the animal shelter. He also helps his aunt with a daycare for kids with autism... He's different from other guys... He doesn't care about things that don't matter, but he's so sweet..."
"Sounds like you fell hard." I raised a brow at him, smirking when he blushed.
"Whatever... What about you and your friend Austen?" My smile faltered a bit.
"Well... We were at a party the other night, and we were playing truth or dare... I was told to tell everyone something that nobody knew about me... And of course, because I was slightly buzzed and the lack of secrets I had... I told everyone I was gay, then ran off. Apparently I slipped and smacked my head and was knocked out, so I don't remember anything else... Although I did have an odd dream..."
"What was the dream?"
"Well, it was after I ran off. Austen called me and asked where I was and then came looking for me. When he found me, I could've sworn he was gonna hate me... But he kissed me and told me he loved me... Then I woke up in the hospital." He thought silently for a moment.
"Are you sure it was a dream? Maybe that was just the last thing you remember before hitting your head." Hope bubbled in my chest, but sunk back down quickly.
"He didn't act any different though. After I woke up, it was as if nothing happened. He didn't even bring up the fact that I came out to him."
"Maybe he thought you didn't remember. Or that you didn't like him in the first place." I didn't have time to respond, because we were in the parking lot of a bowling alley, and Weston was climbing out of the car. "That's Shane's bike." He pointed across the lot to a shiny black motorcycle. "You'll love him, trust me." I followed him into the building and watched as his face lit up when he spotted who I guessed was Shane.
"Is that him?" I pointed to the guy he was staring at.
"Yea, that's him." He had light hair, and was pretty tall. I could see part of a tattoo on his arm.
"Does he know you're gay?"
"I've never told him, but he probably knows." He took a deep breath and pulled me by my sleeve to where Shane was.
"Wes! Hey, whatcha up to?"
"I'm on a date. This is Zeek, Zeek this is Shane." I held my hand out for him to shake. I could already see pain in his eyes. Yep...he liked Weston... He shook my hand anyways and forced a smile.
"Nice to meet you. Have fun I guess." Shane trudged away as I turned to Weston.
"He likes you."
"How can you tell?"
"He looked heartbroken when you said you were on a date." Weston still looked skeptic.
"Let's do more coupley stuff, then see what happens." I shrugged and grabbed his hand as we went to the counter to get shoes.
"You paid last time, so let me this time." We told the cheery girl behind the counter our sizes and I handed her the money.
"I'm gonna win." Weston teased. I rolled my eyes and picked a bright orange ball from the rack and found our lane.
"Babe, do you want to go first?" I added in the nickname when I saw Shane walk by... and he looked pissed...
"Sure." He carried his own blue ball, kissing my cheek on the way to the lane. "YEAH!" he did a victory dance when he knocked down most of the pins, but his good mood faded when he missed the rest on his second try. I shook my head and gave him a hug.
"I can help you if you want." He scowled at me and motioned for me to take my turn.
"No fair!" He pouted when I got a strike.
"Come here, I'll show you." I glanced over and saw Shane staring at us from behind the counter. "And try to look as flirty as possible. Shane is practically murdering me with his eyes." I pulled him by the arm and stood behind him, holding his hands on the ball. I moved his body slightly so that his throw would be better, then took a step back. "Now try." He swung (A.N...Is swung a word??? lol) his arm and let the ball go, nervously biting his nails as it descended down the lane.
"YES!" He jumped on me in excitement, forgetting he was significantly bigger than me. In other words, we crashed onto the hard floor. "I'm sorry! Wait he's looking at us again... Should we kiss?"
"If you want to." Now that I knew I wasn't effected by Weston's kisses, I didn't care. I wasn't nervous, but I wasn't excited... Weston smiled brightly and slowly lowered his mouth to mine. It was quick, probably because neither of us were really into it anyways. I felt only two emotions during the rest of our 'date'. Freedom- I finally could be as gay as I wanted in public and not have to worry about Austen seeing... Guilt- Even though I wasn't even with Austen, I still felt as if I was cheating on him...
A few hugs, and fake kisses later, it was time to leave.
"You know, we should hang out more. As friends I mean." Weston mentioned.
"We should, but right now, I think someone wants to talk to you." I jerked my head toward Shane who was sitting on the counter, looking as if he was waiting for someone.
"What do you think he's gonna say?"
"I don't know, but you should probably go find out..." He nodded his head and took a deep breath, making his way toward Shane. I watched as they talked for a bit, knowing what it would turn out to. Eventually, Shane lifted Weston's face and kissed him. That was when I looked away. That was when I realized I was just surrounded by happy couples. Not only just the strangers in the bowling alley, but everywhere. And I helped two of them get together... So basically I was just a lonely cupid... Deciding that I was physically unable to sit there surrounded by it all, I made my way to the new couple.
"Hey Weston, I thin I'm gonna walk home. You can stay here with Shane."
"You sure? What's wrong?" I shrugged.
"Everything. I'll call you sometime." He looked worried. "You two have fun, and congrats. Sorry we had to make you sit through all that though." I apologized to Shane.
"Don't worry about it. I understand... You gave me enough courage to tell him how I felt... So thanks." I smiled and gave them another goodbye, leaving quickly.

I jumped when I walked into my room. Austen was sleeping on my bed...
"Awe. He waited for you!" I turned around and saw my mother in the doorway. That reminded me... I still haven't told my parents I was gay...
"Mom, is dad home?"
"Yeah, he's watching football in the den, why?"
"I need to tell you guys something." She had a worried look on her face. "I want to tell you both at the same time though." She nodded and we quietly left the room.
"Sit down, I'll go get your father." I sat in my dad's old recliner and tried to calm my nerves.
"Okay, what's up Zeek?" My parents took a seat on the couch across from me.
"You guys will love me no matter what, right?" They looked confused.
"Of course... Zeek, what's wrong?" I didn't even notice I was crying...
"Mom, Dad... I'm... Well um... I like..." I looked at my lap, unable to form a sentence, but I felt someone grab my hand and sit next to me... It was Austen.
"You can do it." He smiled sleepily and squeezed my hand for comfort.
"I'm gay." I saw the shock on their faces, but it eventually wore off.
"Honey, how could you think we wouldn't love you anymore because of that?" My mom asked.
"I don't know... I didn't know how you felt about gays and stuff.." My father shook his head and came to sit on the other side of me.
"Son, we'll always love you. You are the same son we've had for almost eighteen years, and nothing will ever change that, even if you might have a husband rather than a wife someday."
"No grandbabies?" My mom gasped. "You better adopt a million then." I heard Austen chuckle at my side.
"Mom, relax. I don't even have a boyfriend."
"Is there a guy you like?" She sounded like a gossipy cheerleader.
"Yes..."
"TELL ME!"
"Mom, you're worse than Naomi." She faked an offended look.
"Naomi knew before me? And Austen too?"
"Naomi figured it out herself, and I told Austen last week."
"Tell me about this guy you like! Is he cute? Do I know him? Does he know you like him?" I shook my head at my mom.
"Yes he's cute, yes you know him, and no he doesn't know I like him. And I'd like to keep it that way, and you aren't the best at keeping secrets, so I'm gonna leave now..."
"Fine. I'll figure it out eventually." I stood up and began walking back to my room, with Austen still holding my hand.
"You know, we haven't really talked much since the party." He said shutting the door.
"Well, then talk."
"I saw you tonight. At the bowling alley... You kissed that guy... But you said you didn't have a boyfriend?" I saw something in his eyes, but couldn't ell what it was.
"He was just a friend. We dated once... for like a minute... He liked a guy and wanted to make him jealous to see if he liked him back. They are now happily together."
"You helped Naomi and Jack too, didn't you?"
"Yeah."
"Do you think you could help me?" As much as I didn't want to help him get with some girl, I couldn't turn him down...
"Sure..."
"Kay, so I've liked...more like loved actually... Anyways... I've loved someone for a really long time, but I'm scared to tell them... There's a possibility they might be interested, but I don't want to risk it and lose a good friendship... What do you think I should do?" Well that put a giant storm cloud over my head...
"If you really love this person, you should tell them. If things don't work out, you can always be friends. If they don't work out like that either, then it wasn't a very strong friendship to begin with." I'm a hypocrite...
"You really think I should tell them?" No...
"Yes."
"When?"
"Whenever you think it's the right time."
"Thanks Zeeky."
"No problem. Now can we go to bed now? I'm tired. Fake dating and coming out to your parents are exhausting." He laughed and shut off the light, climbing into the bed with me.
"Night Austen."
"Goodnight Zeeky." I nuzzled my head to his now bare chest and waited to fall asleep... Of course, I couldn't.
"Austen? Do you think you could sing to me?" I could feel him nod his head and wrap his arms around me and begin singing softly.
"Just close your eyes, the sun is going down. You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now. Come morning light, you and I will be safe and sound." I closed my eyes and fell fast asleep, but not before I could feel a soft kiss being placed on the top of my head. I also heard a whisper.
"I wish you remembered our kiss."
