(Pic of Nolan)
*Nolan*
"Mmm," I moaned, throwing my head back in bliss as Asher lifted his hips, giving one last thrust as he let go right inside of me.
We panted, trying to catch our breaths. "Six years and you're still so tight."
"I do the proper exercises, love," I explained, kissing him on his inviting lips. He ran his fingers through my hair.
"And this cut makes you look so sexy, you don't understand."
"Dad number two!"
We jumped as we heard a sharp knock on our door.
"Fuck, I'm gonna kill him," Asher hissed as I got off of him.
"Well, I'm number two..." I sighed and grabbed my robe off the head board of the bed, fixing it on. Asher just pulled the sheets over himself, relaxing on the pillow as I went over to our door. I opened it, coming face-to-face with our ten year old son. Well... more like face-to-chest, with him being shorter.
"Hey, Dad," Zion smiled at me, holding up the home phone. "Some weird guy wants to talk to you. He said he thinks your cell's off."
"Leave it to Tyler to call in the middle of a great fuck." I rolled my eyes and took the phone, almost slapping myself for even saying that in front of my kid.
"Hey, can I go hang out with some kids from school tomorrow?" Zion asked, staring at me with anticipation.
"You can bring it up for discussion during dinner, but keep an eye on Jos for now, okay?" I touched his cheek affectionately- which probably wasn't a good idea- and smiled.
He bit his lip and nodded. "Yeah, sure."
"Crap, angel, you might wanna wash your face," I told him.
"Why?"
"I just touched your cheek."
He slowly grimaced. "Ew, Dad! Not again!" He whined.
I watched him leave down the hall before sighing and closing the door. I pressed the phone to my ear. "Tyler, I could so kill you right now."
"I'm sorry, did I interrupt something? Anyway, when are you coming back to North Carolina? My goodness, we were planning this nice party-reunion kind of thing, and it wouldn't be the same without you! You have family and friends here, too, you ass." I could just see him pouting like a 12-year-old.
"We've gone through this how many times? A billion?" I glanced at Asher who had an eyebrow raised. "I just had a long day of work, Ty."
"Oh, yeah. How's it going for you?"
I had opened my own restaurant, and it was very successful. With Asher being the face of Sholé fashions, my business got its own little piece of fame, along with our children. Jocelyn Kai was just four but she'd been in several ads targeting the audience of little kids. She was my biological child, stealing my blue eyes and hair color, and the curls of her mother. Her skin was quite flawless, with a slight golden tint. It made me proud that she resembled Asher's son, which was what I'd hoped for.
"It's booming. No worries, when you come to New York to visit, I'll take you there."
"You should franchise. Go big."
"I will, one of these days." I sighed. "Don't worry, we're planning to come visit next week."
"Good! That's when the party is; perfect! Alright, I'll leave you to your love making."
"Awesome, we'll talk later. Oh, and by the way, thank you for those exercises."
"Ah, you see? I was right, as always. Bet you're tight as ever?"
"Uh- yeah, I'm hanging up now. But thanks."
I hung up and dropped down onto the bed, Asher wrapping his arms around me.
"You seem stressed, love," he observed, nuzzling my neck sweetly.
"I am, for a number of reasons."
"He's still pestering you about coming back?"
"It's not like he doesn't have other friends and Darren, but it's not just him. Justin misses me, Mom misses me. I miss them, too, and my little niece and nephew, but I like being in New York, despite how freaking crowded it is."
"I miss my family, too. I mean, that's our home."
"Yeah. But, being here helps your modeling career, and it helps our son tremendously."
Asher nodded with a little huff. "That's what you're worried about, huh? He'll be just fine."
"Kids are a lot nicer to him here. Apparently he wants to hang out with some of the school kids tomorrow. It's amazing he has friends who wanna include him. Back home, no one understands. As if having two dads makes him some kind of alien. He's ten, I just want him to laugh and play, you know? It's like no matter what, he'll always try so hard to fit in."
"I know. I figured he'd struggle with that ever since he was little. The best thing to do is just remind him how much we love him every single day, and everything's gonna work out just fine." Asher kissed my cheek. "Promise. Now, let's freshen up and have some dinner."
"Right, dinner. More cooking." I smirked.
"You don't always have to cook, Nolan. Ordering food is always an option."
"Hell no. I don't want our kids getting sick."
We got out of bed and made our way to the shower. After making dinner with Zion's help and setting the table, our family all sat down to eat. I placed my baby girl in her special high seat since she was just slightly shorter than average.
"Thanks for looking after her, Z," I appreciated. He smiled and straightened up as we began to eat.
"So, what's this I hear about hanging out with kids from school?" Asher asked, cutting his chicken tender in half.
"Um, I met these really cool people at school and we wanted to play soccer."
"What're their names?"
"Um, Ace and Kaz. They're twins, actually."
"Aww," I gushed. "I think it's a good idea. Where are you playing soccer?"
"At the park nearby."
"Okay, but you know the rules. I gotta meet or at least speak to your friends' parents before anything else, but I'll let you go," Asher told him.
"Just make sure you come home first before you go, and I'll give you your phone to call us, okay?" I added.
Zion nodded with an excited smile. "Yeah. Thanks."
"I love you, alright?" I reminded before turning to look at Jocelyn who was nibbling on chicken. She was staring at me unwaveringly and without blinking as she chewed.
"How is it, baby?" Asher asked her with a playful smile.
She set the chicken on her plastic plate without a word. I grabbed her Sippy cup filled with juice and gave it to her.
"You know, Zion, we're heading down to North Carolina next week for Spring Break," I announced.
He visibly tensed and shrunk in his seat. "Okay."
"You don't wanna go?" Asher observed, stroking the curls of his son's hair out of his face. "You need a cut."
"I do wanna go, but..."
"We know, sweetheart, you don't have to explain," I understood. "But it's Spring Break, you won't see any kids from school."
"It isn't Spring Break for them, though. But I guess that might be a good thing, huh?"
Asher held his hand reassuringly. "You have nothing to worry about. I know Aunt Aria will keep you busy and you'll have lots of fun with her. You can play with your cousins, too."
"No one's my age, Dad," Zion pulled his hand away and looked down at his food, not feeling up to eating it.
I saw Asher considering something before he smiled. "Actually, there is."
"There is?" I asked, giving him a look. He nodded at me as if I was supposed to know what he meant.
"Yes. Remember, I was close friends with Mrs. Santora when Zion was little."
I searched my memory and titled my head. "Santora... ah, you mean Jonah's mother?" I straightened my head, remembering. "Yeah! Jonah! Perfect!"
"Jonah?" Zion gaped at his dad, but something told me he wasn't too excited about that.
"Yeah, why not? He's your age, right? I remember you little munchkins used to do everything together." Ash pinched his boy's cheeks and when he let go, they were turning red. I laughed at that, making my husband laugh as well.
"Yeah, we did everything together, huh?" Zion agreed, sighing.
"Great. I'll see if I can get in touch with Mrs. Santora and maybe we can get Jonah to come over to see you again."
"Who's Jonah?" Jocelyn asked, startling us. She did that a lot; always speaking out of nowhere and she had quite a loud voice.
"Someone I used to know," Zion replied. "We became friends when I took his toy, but I gave it back." He leaned in towards his sister. "According to dad one and dad two, we used to do everything together. Like, we used to go to the aquarium and the museum and the zoo a lot."
"I wanna go to the zoo!" Jocelyn squealed. "Daddy, I wanna go to the zoo!" she said to no one in particular.
"She's talking to you," I said to Asher.
"Nope, that was you. I'm sure of it," he countered.
"We'll go when we get to North Carolina," Zion said to Jos. "And guess what? We're leaving on an air plane! You wanna ride on a plane?" he teased, poking her to make her laugh.
She giggled and nodded. "I wanna ride a plane!"
"Me, too, Jos." Zion leaned back in his seat, picking at his meal. I knew something was up with him, but he was trying to bury it.
It was painful for me. I mean, when your child is going through a tough time just because people in the world are carelessly ignorant, it tears at your heart. It hurts me more than it hurts him. He wasn't a secretive boy, but I feared that he would be if things didn't get better. I wouldn't stand by and let my angel be ruined by others. I wouldn't sit around and watch the smile that was always on his face, the joy that was constantly in his heart, be washed away and turned into bitterness and anger. Not in this life.
After dinner, we all decided to pile in the living room and watch movies until the kids slept. I made two big bowls of popcorn and placed it on the center table.
"Alright, Jos, it's your pick tonight," Asher said, carrying up our daughter into his arms. He kissed her as she squealed excitedly.
"'Pwincess and the Fwog'!" she exclaimed.
"Oh my god, this is the sixth time in a row she's picked that!" Zion groaned, but I could hear the hidden playfulness in his tone. He found the DVD out of the stacks that we had and began to set it up.
"Um, let the Queen of the house have her pick," Asher told his son as he made himself and Jos comfortable on the sofa. I chuckled and sat beside him. He wrapped an arm around me and pulled me unbelievably closer.
"Fine, but I'm picking horror on my night," Zion joked, coming to sit down next to me after cutting off the lights.
"No, you'll have nightmares and wet the bed," I disapproved.
"I wet the bed anyway, Dad two."
"Ewww," Jocelyn scrunched up her nose. Zion scoffed.
"You wet the bed, too, Jos!"
Asher looked at me, taking my chin in his fingers. "So do we, just in a different, naughty way," he said in a very low whisper, kissing my lips.
"That's disgusting, you horny... person - man."
"So now I'm a person-man." He sighed, shaking his head in mock disappointment.
I nudged him and he quietly laughed. "I love you. I love us, our family, everything," he whispered.
"Me, too. I can't imagine what my life would've been like if I hadn't met you," I responded.
"Your life would be shit."
"God, you're a jerk!" I accused as he laughed.
"If it's any comfort, my life would be absolutely shittier if I hadn't met you. If I hadn't come to your house with your brother and wandered off to stare at the array of pictures on the wall. If your eyes hadn't compelled me to stare at that picture..."
"We had a deal. We're not telling our kids that's how you fell in love with me."
"We never had that deal!"
"So? Just... say we kissed at that park for the first time, remember? Yeah, and then we fell for each other."
Asher chuckled. "Speaking of Pine Creek, we should all go there while we're in Carolina. Now that it's lively again, we'd be fools not to go."
I nodded and leaned my head on his shoulder. "Well, you know I'd travel to the ends of the earth with you, spider-pig," I assured him.
"Okay, panda-fish, so that means we're going to the zoo like Jos wanted. Because... I really wanna see a panda."
I tried not to laugh so loud since the movie had started.
"You and pandas," I teased. "Fine. We have a lot to do for Spring Break then."
"I can't wait. I don't know why, but Spring Break and your body beneath mine goes together so well."
"Watch the movie or Jos is gonna be the one giving you nightmares." I raised my head and gave him a long, steady kiss. "I love you, too, by the way. Always will."
