Chapter 2
Charles’s POV
Callie walked into my bedroom and woke me up for my fifth day at school, the last day of the week. I looked at her with dopey eyes before sitting up and stretching then just staring at the wall in front of me. Callie smiled at me as she walked over to Geoffrey’s bed then shook him lightly.
‘Hey dude, get up. Mom has made pancakes,’ Callie said in a sweet voice. Geoffrey budged around in his bed as Callie began walking back to me and then there was a bang. Geoffrey was now lying in a heap on the floor.
‘I’m okay,’ Geoffrey said quietly as he pushed himself up then began crawling over to his things which were in a suitcase at the end of his bed. ‘Prince Charles what would you like me to wear today?’ Geoffrey asked me as he stood up.
‘You can wear whatever you like Geoff but please don’t wear another tuxedo because on Monday that didn’t go down to well,’ I said as I laughed at Geoff.
‘But Prince, your mother told me I must wear a suit when I’m with you,’ Geoffrey began as he stood up whilst holding some blue faded jeans that sagged loads in the middle.
‘Yeah my mother may have said this but we aren’t at the palace so pretty much you are off duty as my butler,’ I pointed out as I slid from under the bed cover and began walking to my suitcase and taking out some grey jogging bottoms. ‘And Geoff you don’t have to call me Prince if we are in the palace or in America,’ I added as I smiled at Geoffrey.
‘Of course Prin-Charles,’ Geoffrey corrected himself as he gave me a half-hearted smile. I rolled my eyes jokily before walking out of the bedroom so I could go shower.
‘Thanks again for letting us stay her Victoria,’ I thanked Callie’s mother as she handed me a pancake on a plate.
‘I couldn’t let your mom down Char, I mean I use to work for her,’ Victoria laughed as she began sprinkling chocolate onto my pancake. ‘Is that enough?’ She asked as she stopped and looked at me; I nodded.
Callie walked into the kitchen with a frown on her face whilst brushing her hair. She gave me a quickly smile before dropping onto a chair which was across the table from me.
‘I think Charlie ate my straighteners,’ Callie complained, Charlie is her brown and white King Charles spaniel.
Victoria spun on her heels to face us before speaking, ‘I think if the dog ate your straighteners we would know about it,’ and as if on cue Charlie came running into the kitchen followed by Geoffrey who was buttoning his white shirt. ‘Geoffrey aren’t you looking nice; Charles why don’t you dress like that you scruff,’ Victoria teased as she put Geoffrey a pancake onto his plate then topped it with blueberries like he had asked.
‘I’m not a scruff,’ I denied as I crossed my arms then pouted my lips like a baby.
‘You totally are,’ Callie chipped in as she finished brushing her hair then tied it into a braid.
‘Shut up,’ I spat as I ate a forkful of pancake whilst frowning moodily. I heard everyone let a little laugh out and then when I looked up they all went silent; jerks. Callie’s father Daniel walked into the kitchen whilst doing up his tie.
‘How do I look?’ He asked as he gave us all a little twirl.
‘Dad that’s sounds like something I’d ask,’ Callie mocked as she eyed her dad who was still twirling around in circles.
Daniel gave a little shrug before responding, ‘I don’t care, I have a very important meeting,’ Daniel raised his voice a little as he said very before giving Callie a little smirk.
There is just something about Callie’s family that seems homely. I mean both her parents are in there early forties but they still look like there in their late twenties. Luckily for Callie she is the only child so she has her parents all to herself.
‘Dan you look very handsome,’ Victoria insisted as she wrapped her arms around her husband’s neck and then kissed him lightly.
‘You’re too old to be doing that,’ Callie shouted as she screwed her face up in disgust. Both Victoria and Daniel turned to face Callie before sticking their tongues out at matching times which made me grin a little. ‘Oh and mom I’m taking Geoff and Char to the beach tonight,’ Callie decided as she stood up and placed her empty plate into the sink.
‘Whatever, as long as you’re home in time for dinner and none of you get into trouble. I don’t fancy getting a phone call from your mother because you’ve been arrested Charles,’ Victoria said sternly but she soon began smiling again. ‘Or you Geoffrey, just because you no longer live with your parents doesn’t mean your siblings won't be getting told, I'm sure Elton won't be impressed.’
‘Don’t worry mom I’ll keep them in line,’ Callie giggled as she jumped on the counter whilst trying to pull her brown wedged shoes onto her feet.
-
‘Thanks for the lift,’ I thanked Victoria as I stepped out of her black car into the school grounds. Victoria gave me a smile as she waved to us all before being to drive away.
We were all walking across the parking lot and then Jesse came and stopped in front of us, I don’t like that guy.
‘So Callie, I was wondering if you wanted to get back with me?’ Jesse asked casually as he flashed a teeth bearing smile. I looked at Callie, if only looks could kill.
‘I think I’m good,’ Callie decided as she gave him a half hearted smile before trying to walk off but Jesse stood in her path. ‘Move,’ Callie instructed.
‘Why won’t you get back with me?’ Jesse asked, he sounded pretty desperate.
‘Well because...’ Callie began but cut her sentence short then rolled her eyes.
‘Because what?’ Jesse questioned as he ran his fingers through his slightly scruffy dark brown hair.
‘Because I’m dating Charles,’ Callie decided; what? I gave Callie a “have you gone completely insane" look. ‘Yeah that’s it, Charles and I are dating now, please don’t tell anyone Jesse we’re trying to keep it a secret,’ Callie said, she was grinning slightly.
‘You’re dating him? Since when?’ Jesse spat. He scrunched his face up so his eyebrows were pretty much meeting in the centre of his face.
‘Since Charles asked me out, we’ve become pretty close and he’s an amazing guy,’ Callie began to speak. I wanted to hit her but for one I’ll get done for girl abuse and secondly there’s a chance that Jesse might just murder me.
‘So you won’t date me but you’ll date that prick?’ Jesse snarled as he sent me an evil glare, and I thought Callie looked mad when Jesse first came over.
‘I’m still stood here,’ I mumbled which I instantly regretted when Jesse sent me an evil glare.
‘You know what Callie, fuck you! I tried to get back with you but you’d rather date some faggot. You aren’t gonna get away with this,’ Jesse grunted as he pointed at me.
I could see Geoffrey clenching his fist in the corner of my eye, I hit his arm slightly and he automatically unclenched his fist.
Jesse sent me another weird look before marching off to his “crew”.
‘I’m so sorry,’ Callie apologised as she looked at me. ‘I promise I’ll tell him the truth that I’m not dating you soon, it was just a stupid act of the moment.’
‘Don’t worry about it; I might as well play your lover boy. At least if I don’t find anyone before the months up I can take you with me back to the palace, I’m sure mother would love you,’ I chuckled.
‘That’s sweet and everything but Charles you don’t understand, that last guy who dated someone Jesse wanted spent two weeks in hospital,’ Callie explained.
‘I’ll be fine Callie I have Geoffrey,’ I assumed as we all began walking to first lesson of the day.
My first lesson was History and no one I particularly knew was in my lesson. I’ve already had this lesson once this week so I sat in the same place I did last time beside some dude name Kyle; I think he is in my French or something. ‘Dude did you do your homework?’ Kyle asked as soon as I got over to him.
‘What homework?’ I questioned as I sat down, I’ve never done homework in my entire life so why would I start now?
‘I take that as a no,’ Kyle said with a slight grin. ‘I heard you got into a “disagreement” with Jesse Taylor?’ Kyle asked as he did that weird quotation mark thing with his fingers'.
‘Things surely travel fast in this school,’ I murmured. ‘We got into a “disagreement” over Callie,’ I told Kyle as I did that same quotation mark thing he did.
‘Why what happened with Callie?’ Kyle asked. ‘Sorry that’s a little nosey, don’t answer that.’
‘Its fine, it was because Jesse wants to date Callie but Callie is dating me,’ I explained, I smiled at the fact that I had to pretend I was dating Callie.
‘You might want to let Jesse have Callie, I mean I know he is a jerk and I don’t like him but the last time that happened he almost killed the guy. If it was me dating someone then I’d be fine because I’m like the quarterback in the football team and I box but dude, no offence, you look like someone Jesse could take down with one poke,’ Kyle mumbled as the teacher walked into the class.
‘Offence taken,’ I said in a slightly high pitched voice. ‘If Jesse touches me I’ll send...’ and then I stopped myself because I almost gave away the whole Prince thing. ‘I’ll get him arrested,’ I lied.
‘You can try, that’s what they did last time but he only got kept in a week because people thought it was from family problems.’ What’s going on with Jesse’s family?
‘Why what’s up with Jesse family?’ I asked curiously.
‘I don’t know, his dad left when he was eight and he looks after his sister because his mom is always busy or something like that; I don’t really care to much about Jesse, I mean he’s a dick,’ Kyle decided which made me smirk.
The last lesson of the day was maths. I took my seat beside Callie and thankfully Jesse wasn’t in class yet; I kind of hoped he would miss this lesson or something – but he didn’t.
When Jesse entered the classroom his eyes instantly fixed on mine. I quickly turned to look at my book whilst scribbling random things onto a piece of paper hoping Jesse hadn’t noticed me looking.
‘So Callie,’ I heard Jesse’s voice purr as he came over the desk beside me. ‘I was wondering if maybe you want to come to a party tonight, you can even bring your freak,’ Jesse added I looked up to see him looking at me with his hazel eyes.
‘I doubt I’ll be going, you see Char and I already planned something out. Isn’t that right babe?’ Callie asked as she looked at me with a precious smile on her face.
‘Yeah, well after we’ve done that other thing?’ I said with a slight laugh whilst winking my left eye, I honestly didn’t know what I was on about but still; wing it Charles.
‘Well if you like you can come, you see its the game for the football season and seen as I’m the runner back of the team I thought maybe you’d like to come, you’re going to have to bring booze. If you want to come then it’s at Ashley’s house,’ Jesse decided as he stood up then walked away, his red converse patted on the floor.
Callie sent me a smile as she continued to write in her book. I just laughed a little before turning away to my book.
----------
The next chapter will probably be about the party or something, I don't know yet... Again there is no editing, sorry. This chapter is a little longer then the last one I guess but I think the next one might be pretty short. Okay I have a really bad headache and I also need to clean my room so, bye!
Alex!
