Jay couldn't get Beast out of his head. He didn't know his name, so he stuck with calling him Beast. He supposed it was alright, everyone else called him that. In fact, he didn't know if anyone else knew Beast's real name.
He understood why people did call Beast his nickname, but did it hurt Beast's feelings? Was he okay with the nickname he had been stuck with? After all, he was only nineteen. Jay was only one year younger, but it still didn't mean that the older you got, the more immune to names you were.
Beast. A guy of many wonders.
Jay was still stunned with Beast's sudden interest in him as he never expected it. People tend to think royalty are stuck up — which they aren't. They're normal people, just with a higher status that they were born into.
As per usual, Jay got himself dressed and snuck out of the castle. He always did every morning to roam the city outside of the gates. He was never allowed when he was younger — which was understandable — but he was now older and definitely old enough to explore.
Besides, today he really hoped to run into Beast. His heart sped up just thinking about meeting him. They were quite the opposite, in looks at least. Jay was small, to a certain extent (he was still tall, just not as tall as Beast), and not as muscular as Beast. Well, no one was. The only thing similar was basically their hair colour.
As Jay walked along the houses, he happened to spot Beast from quite far away. A smile graced Jay's lips and he made his way towards Beast. Just as he was so close to him, he stopped. He stopped in his steps and stared ahead. Beast was right there, but wouldn't he think it was weird if he suddenly appeared. Jay frowned. He had to make it seem like a coincidence. But how could it be if he was suppose to be up in the castle hidden away from everyone?
Just then, Beast turned around and his eyes met with Jay's widened ones. Jay looked around, trying to find somewhere to hide. He internally screamed when he realised Beast was walking toward him. Jay looked to each side again and made an attempt to make a swift exit.
"Jay," Beast called, making Jay stop in his steps. He could've carried on walking, but he did secretly want to speak to him anyway. "And what are you doing here?" Beast's voice was quite deep and, to Jay, seemed sort of unwelcoming.
"I always walk around. I just needed some fresh air." Jay acted as if he was a bit defensive. No one usually recognised him on his walks — mainly because some people tended to shun him since he came out — and if they did stop him, he didn't like to be questioned. He found his walks to actually be quite personal which was usually down to the fact he never got to roam the town he semi ruled upon. Sure, his parents and then sister would rule upon it but it still meant he sort of had some authority over it. "I best be going," Jay quickly said, turning around and walking off.
He didn't look back. He didn't want to. Beast was quite intimidating, especially because of his height. Plus, Jay felt extremely nervous around Beast and he hated feeling nervous. No one had ever made him so nervous and it baffled him. Was he already developing feelings for Beast? He couldn't possibly, so he thought. Curiosity got the better of Jay. He turned around and he felt his breath get caught.
"And you think you can get away from me easily, Prince?" Jay made a small squeak, unheard by Beast, and widened his eyes.
"What do you mean?" Terror started to fill up inside of him. Beast's tone was quite sinister and seemed as if he had an ulterior motive — most likely to kidnap him. Scared and frightened, Jay started to jog away from Beast. He turned a few corners which then proved to be a wrong choice. He was trapped. It was a dead end.
"Oh, I don't wanna go this way," he whispered to himself. "I always wanted to die in my sleep, not like this." Beast looked at him weirdly. He was about to question Jay but Jay decided to make a run for it. He tried to go under Beast's arms but it didn't work, obviously.
"What on earth are you doing?" Beast asked, raising an eyebrow at Jay. Jay stood in front of Beast, almost as if he was Bambi who had just lost his mother — scared, lonely and tiny. "I'm not going to hurt you," he chuckled, placing a hand on Jay's shoulder. Jay jumped slightly at the contact.
"You're not going to kidnap me?"
"Well, I'll let you in on a secret." Beast put his other hand on Jay's shoulder and pushed him lightly against the wall. He leaned closer to Jay until their foreheads were almost touching and their lips were inches apart. "Kidnapping you and having you all for myself does sound appealing," he whispered, "especially since you're so... delectable." Jay made the squeak again and this time, it was heard by Beast. "But, I value my life. So instead, I'll do this," and he placed his lips on Jay's. Jay's eyes were as wide like saucers. Instead of freaking out and ruining the moment for himself, he kissed back. He had only ever kissed one person — a young butler who worked at their castle (but was now fired because of the kiss) — and wasn't as experienced. But he thought he might as well enjoy the moment as he may never get it again.
Beast pulled away, a smirk plastered on his face. "I don't know your name," Jay said, sounding breathless. Beast had literally taken away his breath, shocking him with the kiss.
"Nicholai," he replied.
"Nicholai is so much more sexier than Beast."
"And you're much more sexier than anyone in this town." And with that, Nicholai disappeared within minutes. Jay was left there to gather his thoughts. Nicholai had chased him, trapped him in a corner, admitting to wanting to kidnap him, and then kissed him. Jay was stunned in his place. He was convinced he was dreaming and so he did the typical thing everyone does in movies; he pinched himself.
"Oh, damn," he muttered, "it was real." And acting as if he was a love struck teenage girl, he touched his lips as if trying to savour the touch of Nicholai's lips. But reality him hit right in the butt when he realised he had to be getting back to the castle. He ran from where he was and ran to the castle, keeping his face hidden from everyone. He managed to make it back to the castle and no one questioned anything, except his sister.
"Gone to see your secret lover?"
"Shut up, Celia. Or should I say Cinderella?" She rolled her eyes at Jay and stuck her tongue out at him, just moments before her Prince Charming arrived and took her hand in his.
