He glanced over at me and then turned in my direction. I looked at the DVD he had in his hand and he put it back.

"It's not any good." He explained as he turned back to me. His head nodded as he observed the snacks I held in my arms. I smiled, glad that he didn't object to my choices.

"So have you seen anything you might want to watch?" I asked as I skimmed over the tons of movies in the aisle. He looked at them as well.

"...not really." He responded indifferently.

"Oh..." I replied and then looked at him. "Well then I'll look too. Let's choose one together."

He didn't reply to my suggestion, but his cheeks tinged pink again. I was starting to get used to all of his blushing. He did it a lot more than he used to. I went down the aisle a little bit and picked up a movie and showed it to him.

"How about this one?" I asked as I struggled to hold all the snacks and show him the case at the same time. He plucked it from my hands and looked over it for a moment.

"...it looks kind of...cheesy." He admitted. I laughed and then looked again. This time, I grabbed a movie that looked less cheesy and again, with difficulty, handed him the DVD. He looked at it, then stared at meas I tried to adjust my snack situation. After a moment of watching, he held his arm out.

"I'll...I'll hold some of those for you if you want." He offered. I stared at his outstretched arm, and then looked up to see him blushing again. I was honestly a little stunned that he offered. It was a bit unexpected of him, since his usual character wasn't very kind...

"Well?" His tone grew impatient and I snapped back into reality and nodded, smiling.

"Oh yeah...thanks." I handed him the chips and bags of gummy bears. It was a little easier to manage the snacks now.

"So-" I began.

"I think this one looks fine." He said as he skimmed the cover. I nodded.

"Okay." I replied and began to walk down the aisle. "Then let's go check out so we can get home and watch it."

We walked to the register and tossed our items on the counter. I pulled out my money for the snacks, and Kizumi handed me his for the movie. After we paid, I gave Kizumi the change, and we each grabbed a bag and headed out again.

As we walked back down the sidewalk to the house, Kizumi decided to speak.

"I think we have popcorn at the house too."

"That's good." I laughed. "You can't watch a movie without popcorn."

"Yeah..." He sighed as he looked ahead. I did the same, keeping with his steps rhythmically to distract myself from the silence again.

"I've never done this sort of thing before." He suddenly said after a moment.

"Done what?" I asked.

"I don't know...this. Hung out with someone and stuff." He sounded kind of...sad.

"Really?" I replied, even though everyone probably knew that. "I guess that's kind of cool for me at least."

"For you?" He asked as he looked over at me. I nodded, keeping my eyes straight ahead.

"Yeah. I'm the first friend who's ever come over. It's kind of awesome." I chuckled.

"...friend?" His voice swam with slight confusion and surprise.

"Well...I consider you my friend." I said. Then, in a blurt, I said, "I mean, you don't have to consider me your friend but...well..." I started blushing and I felt like an idiot suddenly.

"N-no...I didn't mean...well..." He began, but then trailed off. Things got quiet again as we walked in awkward silence once more.

"...Th-thank you..." He said after a second. I looked at him and his cheeks deepened a shade as he said,

"...for being my friend."
