Lee's P.O.V

Standing in Mike's front yard with my mate Tom next to me with his black hair hanging shaggy in his puppy brown eyes. Tom was taller than me at 6.2ft. Soul and Mike were loading everyone's bags into the back of his small family bus while Josh was chatting with Abbey over by the front and Ellie and Jamie were laughing inside the bus, already claiming seats. Buses made me feel sick, like sick to the OMG GET ME OUT OF HERE I AM GONNA VOM EVERYWHERE! So I wasn't looking forward to the four hour ride to the lake, but hopefully it would be fine... so long as I had a window seat and didn't stop talking.

Mike, who I'd just met about ten minutes ago, came over to me. He was shorter than me with short brown hair that was spiked up into a Mo-hawk.

“Ready?” he asked me, taking the backpack from my hand and slinging it over one shoulder. I looked up at Tom who was grinning at me and then I nodded to Mike.

“Sure,” I said. Mike nodded and turned to everyone, raising his arms to get their attention.

“Everyone get your hairy butts on that bus now or I'm leaving without you,” he called and then winked over his shoulder at me and hopped on the bus. Sluggishly we all piled onto the bus and Mike revved the engine from the driver's seat. Soul, Ellie and Jamie sat on the back seat of the mini bus, I sat on the next seat down with my legs spread out and my back to the window and Josh sat opposite me. On the next seats down were Tom and Abbey.

Ten minutes later we were on the road.

“Who wants to sing a song?” Josh called out to everyone over the roar of the old bus engine. Some of the others groaned in unison.

“Lee will, won't you Lee,” Soul grinned evilly at me. I scowled and shook my head, crossing my arms over my chest and pouting.

“i most certainly will not,” I growled back to him.

“Come on Lee, you're a great singer,” Josh beamed at me. I blushed.

“And since when did you hear me sing?” I asked, raising an eyebrow at him. Josh turned his head away guiltily.

“When you had a shower at my place,” Josh winked at Soul.

“WHAT?” I cried, my face getting hot.

“Don't change the subject and hurry up and sing,” Soul ordered. I poked my tongue out at him.

“Bite me,” I snarled. Soul glared at me for a moment and then jumped over the back of my seat at me. I squealed and leaped over the next one, falling onto Tom. I jumped into the aisle of the bus and ran to the front. Soul ran after me and jumped on my back, forcing me into one of the front seats.

“Get back in your seats,” Mike yelled, “Don't make me turn this bus around!” Everyone burst out laughing while I leaped over the next row of seats heading back up the bus. I landed with a stop in Josh's lap as Soul reached the back of the bus and I put my feet up on his chest to stop him reaching down to me.

“Sing,” he ordered and grabbed my shoes, ripping them off.

“NO!” I shouted. Josh wrapped his arms around my chest and put his mouth to my ear.

“Try and escape now,” he chuckled softly. I wriggled, trying to break free, but Soul had my feet and was tickling them, they were my weakness.

Damn you feet!

“Aw, not fair,” I hissed and struggled to get free.

“Come one Lee,” Tom urged me.

“Stay out of this you betrayer,” I shouted, pointing a finger at my supposed best friend.

“Lee,” Abbey whined.

“No,” I yelled.

“Leeeee,” Abbey continued, “Pretty pleassssssseeee?”

“This is peer pressure, someone help me!” I shouted, kicking and screaming.

“Tickle him behind the ears,” Soul ordered Josh. Josh reached one hand uo and I squirmed and wriggled about. He put his fingers behind my right ear and tickled. I shuddered and sunk under his touch, shivering at the feeling and trying to shy away from it. Curse you Soul!

“Aw, he's like a puppy,” Ellie cooed.

“No,” I pouted.

“Awww baby,” Jamie and Ellie sighed.

“I need to see you with floppy dog ears before I die,” Josh sighed, touching his chest over his heart with his hand.

“Make him woof!” Ellie cried.

“NO!” I fake sobbed.

“Woof and we'll let you go,” Josh chuckled darkly.

“No, let go,” I shouted.

“Just say woof Lee,” Soul grinned evilly.

“I hate you!” I yelled at him. He grabbed my legs by the knees and tickled the backs of them.

“ALRIGHT!” I laughed, squirming. Everyone paused and waited. I heard Mike chuckling from up the front. I bowed my head in shame and took a deep breath.

“Woof...” I sobbed, pouting. Everyone awed at me. Soul sat back in his seat but Josh held me tighter to him. I pouted at him, turning my head up to look him in the face as he looked down at me.

“You're choking me,” I croaked as he started rubbing his forehead against mine and it was making me weak at the knees.

“Now you have to sing,” Abbey chuckled.

“Sing that one from the other day,” Tom told me. I scowled at him. That had been a love song. I didn't want to sing a love song.

“The Come What May one?” Soul asked Tom, who nodded back at him. I sighed, they were never going to stop pestering me were they?

“Fine, if Josh lets me go,” I said. Josh let me go immediately, I think I caught a glimpse of... rejection in his eyes before I fell onto the ground in the aisle. Soul helped me back into my seat and I sat with my back to the window again. All eyes were on me. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.

Never knew I could feel like this,

like I've never seen the sky before,

want to vanish inside your kiss,

everyday I love you more and more,

listen to my heart, can you hear it sing?

Telling me to give you everything,

seasons may change, winter to spring,

but I love you, until the end of time,” I sang softly. When I opened my eyes again everyone was looking at me with what I could only describe as amazement. I felt my face go red and I looked down at my knees as I pulled them up to my chest and hugged them.

“You're... you are... wow,” Josh gulped, his eyes blank with wonder. I blushed INSTA SCARLET. “And I thought you were good when I heard you in the shower through the door... that was-”

“Amazing!” Ellie agreed with him in awe. “Lee, are you single?” She giggled.

“He's gay!” Josh barked at her. I buried my head in my knees.

“I told you I didn't want to sing,” I grumbled.

“Are you kidding?” Abbey cried out.

“You're incredible,' Soul exploded.

“No I'm not, you guys are just being nice,” I sniffed. I heard someone slide off their seat and put a hand on the top of my head, brushing my hair back. It felt good. I looked up to see Josh sitting in front of me. I peered at him through my dark hair that had fallen into my eyes and he smiled.

“Sing some more, something up beat this time,” he urged me. I couldn't refuse that sexy face.

Josh' P.O.V

Lee was singing a love song. Not just a love song, the love song from my favourite musical Moulin Rouge. His eyes were closed, he looked like some kind of angel sent from heaven. My heart fluttered as his words moved around the silent bus. I shuddered. This was so strange, I was feeling things for this boy I'd never felt for anyone in my life. I wanted so badly to make him mine, but for the first time in my life I was shy. I didn't know how to approach him like that. I didn't want to scare him away, I knew I could be a handful at times. The idea of him rejecting me froze me in place every time I tried to open my mouth to ask him out. That had never happened before, I'd always been so confident and uncaring. Lee finished and opened his eyes, looking at everyone.

“You're... you are... wow,” I gulped. Lee blushed. “And I thought you were good when I heard you in the shower through the door... that was-”

“Amazing!” Ellie finished for me. The others complimented Lee too but he seemed to become shier and shier. Someone asked if he was single, a girl. My protective side burst through.

“He's gay!” I shouted. Lee blushed darker and crawled into a ball. Oh no, did I upset him with that remark? I hope not. Before I knew it I was creeping off my seat uncontrollably and sitting in front of him with my head in his hair. It felt so good touching him. He looked up at me through his hair, it was so cute I couldn't help but smile.

“Sing some more, something up beat this time,” I urged him. He sighed.

“Yeah, come on Lee,” Tom urged.

“Traitor!” Lee said to him, eyes wide and pointing a finger at his friend. But he was smiling.

“Lee! Lee! Lee! Lee!” Soul and Abbey chorused together.

“Alright, any requests?” Lee asked softly.

'Alive With The Glory Of Love by Say Anything, you know it?” Jamie wondered.

“Yes he does,” Soul grinned. Lee gave him a hateful glare and then began to sing, looking into my face.

When I watch you, I wanna do you right where you're standing (yeah)

Right on the foyer, on this dark day, right in plain view (oh yeah)

Of the whole ghetto. The boots stomp meadows, but we ignore that (yeah)

You're lovely, baby. This war is crazy. I won't let you down (Oh no no)

No, I won't let them take you, won't let them take you

Hell no no, oh no, I won't let them take you, won't let them take you

Hell no no,” Lee sung, Soul did the backing. Everyone joined in for the rest of the song, even Mike at the front. But I was slightly reserved. Had Lee been singing to me?

The rest of the bus trip went pretty much like that. All us singing songs and laughing. After two hours Ellie took over driving the bus. Ellie and Mike were the only two qualified to drive us bus, they'd both learnt on their farms.

We arrived at the lake at 9:00pm and Lee was first off the bus. He was bent over and resting his hands on his knees to take deep breaths. I don't think he liked buses. I watched as Soul beat me to him, putting a hand on his back.

“Alright bro?” he asked him.

“Fine,” Lee coughed and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. I leaped off the bus and danced about like a terrible ballerina.

“So who is ready to par-tay?” I cried out as I danced.

“No,” Mike growled and opened up the side of the bus so people could get their bags. I sighed and went to get my stuff and took it inside. I raced through down the bedroom hall and climbed onto a top bunk in a room.

“This is my bed!” I claimed, shouting out to people walking into the cabin. There were three compartments in camping area. In the middle was the lounge/kitchen/dining area. The right end was the bedrooms and bathroom; two bedrooms with two bunk beds in each and a big double bathroom. At the other end of the lodge was a games room with pool table and swimming toys for the lake; as well as a small laundry. From the sky I guess it would look like a C facing the lake. In the middle of the two ends were picnic benches, it was choice. I left my bags on my bed and went to explore. Ellie and Jamie kidnapped Abbey and they were all sharing one room, they were all having some sort of... pillow fight, or something. It looked very girlie, so of course I joined in. I grabbed the pillow Jamie was about to hit Abbey with and smacked Ellie over the back of the head. She grinned at me.

“You asked for it,” she shrieked and charged at me. That fish was crazy.

“It's on fishes!” I cried and all hell broke loose.

“Cool it Josh,” Mike said from the doorway as I copped Jamie between the legs and she shrugged at me. Oh that's right, that move don't work on women. I whacked her in the boobs.

“Ow Josh,” Jamie cried, grabbing her chest. Mike chuckled and walked away.

“I'm bored now,” I said and dropped the pillow onto Ellie's head and left. Lee was sitting on the floor against the wall in the hallway going through his phone.

“Oh frigidity flag, not this again,” he muttered. I slumped down next to him, making sure our sides were touching.

“Not what again?” I asked him. He looked up at me.

“Angry birds,” he smiled. I melted on the inside. “Why do you call the girls fishes?” I laughed.

“I call everyone fish actually,” I said.

“Okay, why do you call everyone fishes?” Lee asked. Aw, he was just so cute.

“Because of the sayings; 'There's plenty more fish in the sea' and 'I've got bigger fish to fry'! That's why,” I cackled. Lee smiled and rolled his eyes.

“Oh I see,” Lee chuckled.

“So Lee, have you got bigger fish to fry?” I asked him suggestively. Lee frowned.

“What do you mean?” he asked. I lent in forward so my face just hovered over Lee's and I watched as he blushed.

“I mean,” I said softly, my eyes darting down to his lips, “Are you looking for love?” OMG I can't believe I just asked him that. What was wrong with me?

“Hehem,” Soul coughed as he appeared in the hall. “Josh come help with the stuff.” I pulled away from Lee and sighed.

“Yeah coming,” I scowled at him as he walked away.

Lee's P.O.V

The cabins were all really old looking. They had dark wooden slab walls and wooden furniture and railings. Inside the floors were wooden floor boards and only the living room had carpet. The kitchen was fairly new with marble bench tops and a stainless steel fridge. There were trees all around us outside and they drooped against the buildings. All the furniture was actually pretty new considering.

“We have the lake to ourselves,” Josh was saying as he got up to help other people bring our things inside. “Because all the other camps are under renovation. Plus the owners live about a mile north from here and only come down when they need too. I had the keys posted to me yesterday.”

When we were all inside and everything was settled I went to lay down on my bed with my arms behind my head. Soul appeared in the hallway talking to Josh. They were both standing in front of the open bedroom door, oblivious to me. It sounded like they were having a heated discussion. I couldn't quite make out what Soul was saying but it sounded something along the lines of,

“He's new to this game, don't be so bloody forward with yourself, he's not ready for that. If you want him you'll have to take it slowly.” My breath caught in my throat and I started coughing, Soul and Josh both looked at me.

“I'm fine,” I coughed to them, putting up one hand as if to stop them coming in and my other hand to my mouth.

“I can be serious and sensitive sometimes you know,” Josh whispered back to Soul and then went off down the hall.

“DINNER!” Jaime called and it sounded through the whole house. Because it was summer we all sat outside under the stars for dinner, which was canned sausages and baked beans, but hey, we hadn't had time to shop. I was thankful Ellie and Jamie weren't the diet type and weren't fussy about what we were eating, though they had no plans of being anywhere near the boys tonight. Soul was staying fairly close by Abbey, of course I knew he liked her, but I didn't think he was that serious. We put the empty cans in the bin and Abbey and Ellie washed the spoons and forks we used. Josh and Mike were pushing the couches against the wall and putting the cushions around the coffee table while Soul went and got something from the bus.

“What's going on?” I asked but everyone ignored me.

“Alright you all have to play,” Josh announced as Soul came back in. Tom grinned at Abbey who wiggled her eyebrows.

“Anyone who backs out has to skinny dip in the lake,” Mike enforced.

“Not fair, I suck at this,” Jamie whined.

“What's going on?” I asked, but was still ignored. Everyone started coming into the living room now and gathering around.

“I'm the champion,” Tom beamed.

“You'll be no where near as good as me,” Josh chuckled.

“Will someone please tell me what we're doing?” I yelled. Everyone turned and looked at me and I suddenly felt self-conscious.

“Strip Poker,” Josh grinned.

“What, oh no god no,” I said, backing away slowly with my hands up.

“What's wrong?” Ellie asked.

“He sucks at poker,” Tom and Soul said at the same time, grinning too. I hated them so much right now.

“If you don't play you have to skinny dip,” Mike said, enforcing his rule. I groaned as Soul grabbed one of my arms and Tom grabbed the other, dragging me over to the table.

“None of you play fair,” I whined.

“Awe!” Ellie giggled. Soon they had me sitting between Abbey and Soul around the table with cards in my hands. Josh explained how to play and then we were at it. Believe it or not I didn't grasp the concept of any of it and five minutes into the game I found myself in this situation.

“But I don't want to,” I cried. Everyone was looking at me, waiting patiently. Josh was staring at me across the table.

“You lost that round, you have to,” he said politely and as kind as possible. My mind took me back to that conversation Soul and he had had in the hallway outside my room and I blushed. I got up on my knees and took off my necklace, the one Soul had give me for our birthday last year. It was a long black ribbon with a metal cross on it, except the cross wasn't the holy one, it was the spiritual one with the loop at the top. I laid the necklace in the middle of the coffee table. Everyone cheered and we moved onto the next round.

Josh was next to take something off. But instead of taking out the gold hoop in his left ear he took off his shirt to reveal marvellous chocolate muscled skin underneath. I blushed again as he leaned forward and placed his shirt on top of my necklace. Seven rounds later and I'd managed to only come last twice. I'd beaten Josh five times and he'd been forced to strip. Now he sat opposite me, legs crossed, completely naked. I was thankful the coffee table covered his privates. I was only in my underwear though; while everyone else was still fully clothed.

“If you lose one more time Josh, you have to skinny dip in the lake,” Mike said, making sure not to look at Josh.

“Alright,” Josh grinned. For some reason he didn't seem bothered being naked. Not that I was really surprised by this.

“I thought you were supposed to be good?” I asked Josh as I looked down to see his bright pink G-string on top of the pile of clothes on the table.

“What makes you think I'm not losing on purpose?” Josh cackled. Next round Josh didn't lose, Ellie did. She was only wearing a red summer dress and underwear so she went with taking her bra off underneath her dress. As she held it out to put it on the pile Josh snatched it and put it on his head.

“Hey,” Ellie cried.

“You can't put clothing back on,” Mike hissed.

“It doesn't count if it's not yours and on your head,” Soul laughed.

“Can we get back to this? I'm winning,” Jamie said eagerly. That set the boys off.

“You are not,” Josh cried, throwing the bra into the air.

“I'm going to win,” Mike shouted, up on his knees.

“No I will win,” Soul cried, lifting his cards above his head but so no one but him could see them.

The next three rounds went on like this. Jamie lost the first one; taking off one of her shoes. Mike lost the second one, taking off his shirt. And I lost the third. Only problem was was I was only wearing my boxer briefs. Everyone was waiting for my next move so I folded my arms over my bare chest.

“No way!” I said firmly. They weren't having any of it.

“Then go skinny dipping,” Mike said, starting to rise.

“No,” I growled. Mike and Soul shared a look and then they both jumped at me. Mike grabbed my legs and Soul grabbed my arms and they started to carry me outside.

“No, no, no, someone help me, please,” I screamed at the top of my lungs.

“You're such a girl Lee,' Abbey tutted.

“I don't care,” I yelled at her. There was a small jetty that went about four meters out over the water and Soul and Mike carried me down it, everyone following and cheering. Now we were at the end of the jetty. The clear night sky was reflecting onto the still clear lake water surface and I could see my own scared reflection in it. I could smell the peppermint trees that surrounded the lake and thought about how cold the water was going to be, despite it being summer. Soul and Mike started to swing me out over the jetty and then back. I gave Soul my puppy dog eyes.

“Please Soul?” I pouted at him, my bottom lip trembling.

“1...” Soul grinned.

“2...” Mike chuckled.

“3!” Josh cried, his arms in the air and his naked body glinting in the light. Suddenly I was falling through the air, and just as sudden I crashed through the surface of the water. I was completely submerged before I pushed to the surface and whipped my hair out of my eyes.

“I HATE you,” I said to Soul. Then I started swimming back to the shore. Josh ran and jumped off the end of the jetty and started splashing around and howling at the cold water and the full moon. I couldn't picture him being serious no matter how hard I tried. Quickly I banished the thought of Soul's talk out of my mind. I stood up and the water came to my thighs, two inches under the end of my red and white boxer briefs. Abruptly I heard Josh right behind me yelling something and then my underwear flew down to my knees. Immediately I sunk under the water and tried to pull them up. I looked at the jetty to see everyone laughing and Josh beside me busting his gut with laughter.

“For such a cute puppy guy I never knew you'd be so big,” Ellie chuckled. I made sure my underwear was secure and then lunged at Josh and pushed him under with all my weight. His surprised face disappeared under quickly and then I let him go. He bounced back up and spat out water.

“Oh you're asking for it,” he cried and wrestled me under. I saw three crashes over by the jetty and as I came back up I identified them as Soul, Mike and Abbey. They started splashing around and having fun. I struck the water and a wave jumped up right into Josh's face. He shook his head and grinned at me, which started to make me feel dizzy in a good way. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Ellie and Jamie jump off the jetty too as I threw myself at Josh. I wrapped my legs around his waist and went under the water with him.

“No way!” I heard Tom saying. Everyone looked over to see Abbey trying to lure Tom into the water. He was standing at the end of the jetty.

“Come on, get in,” Mike cried.

“He's chicken,” Abbey mocked, “Bock, bock, bah-cock.” Soul and I looked at each other and nodded. We raced to the shore and then to the end of the jetty to join Abbey. Slowly we moved down the jetty. Tom noticed us and cried out.

“No, that's not cool guys,” he complained. Tom was trapped and he knew it. He was going into that water one way or another whether he liked it or not.

“I'll be back,” Josh cried and raced out of the water and up to the bus.

“Please?” Tom battered his eyelids.

“Sorry Tom,” I said and then Soul lunged forward, picked Tom up bridal style and carried him to the edge and jumped. Tom fell in screaming and landed with a huge splash. I jumped in after them. Josh raced back with tubes of something in his hands.

“Glow sticks!” Josh cried and through a tube to me. I opened it and handed half to Soul. We cracked them and let the multicolour night unfold.
