Luca was tough. Luca Moretti did not get scared.

He was tough. A fighter. He had survived Damien's chaotic world, multiple gang wars, and more than a few near-death experiences.

So when Damien suggested a horror movie night, Luca just shrugged.

"Sure. Whatever."

Big. Freaking. Mistake.

It all started when Damien, in his usual smug way, casually threw an arm around Luca while lounging on their couch.

"We should watch a movie tonight."

Luca, who was in the middle of scrolling through his phone, barely looked up. "Cool."

Damien's smirk widened. "A horror movie."

Luca finally glanced up, suspicious.

Because Damien never just suggested a movie without an ulterior motive.

"...Why?"

Damien grinned, sharp and wicked. "Because I want to see your reaction."

Luca rolled his eyes. "You seriously think I'm gonna get scared?"

"I know you're gonna get scared," Damien shot back.

Luca scoffed. "Please. I've seen horror movies before."

Damien leaned in, voice dripping with amusement. "Oh, sweetheart... not the ones I have in mind."

Luca should've known right then and there that he was screwed.

Thirty minutes later, Luca found himself regretting every life choice that led to this moment.

Because Damien, in true demon boyfriend fashion, had picked a movie that was so terrifying it made Luca's stomach twist.

It was one of those psychological horror films—the kind that messed with your head more than just throwing blood and jump scares at you.

At first, Luca was fine. He sat with his arms crossed, unbothered.

Then the weird stuff started happening.

A shadow moving in the background. A door creaking open by itself. The main character waking up to find her reflection wasn't copying her movements.

Luca's heartbeat sped up.

But he refused—refused—to let Damien see.

Damien, of course, noticed anyway.

Because Damien was a little shit.

"Sweetheart," Damien purred, his breath tickling Luca's ear, "you look a little pale."

Luca didn't flinch. Didn't react. Just gritted his teeth and stared at the screen. "Shut. Up."

Damien smirked. "Awww, are you scared?"

"No."

Luca was absolutely scared.

Because suddenly, the TV screen went dead silent.

A long, stretched-out moment of eerie quiet.

Then—

JUMP SCARE.

A grotesque figure lunged at the camera, accompanied by a deafening screech.

Luca yelped—a real, genuine sound of terror—before he could stop himself.

And Damien?

Damien absolutely lost it.

"Oh. My. God."

Luca's soul left his body as Damien doubled over laughing.

"DAMIEN."

"You actually screamed!" Damien howled. "That was—oh my God, sweetheart, that was adorable."

Luca turned red. "Shut. Up."

But Damien just kept laughing, wiping at his eyes. "I should've recorded that."

Luca glared. "I swear, if you keep talking, I'm going to—"

Another jump scare.

This time, Luca jumped so hard that he instinctively grabbed onto Damien's arm, clutching him for dear life.

And Damien froze.

Because, apparently, watching Luca press himself against him, gripping his shirt, was ten times cuter than the actual horror movie.

Damien's laughter immediately died.

Instead, he smirked, voice soft and teasing.

"Aww, sweetheart," Damien cooed. "Are you using me as a human shield?"

Luca's brain short-circuited.

He shoved Damien away instantly. "NO."

Damien was grinning like a wolf. "You totally were."

"I WAS NOT."

"You absolutely were."

Luca grabbed the nearest throw pillow and chucked it at Damien's head.

Damien caught it effortlessly. Still smirking.

Luca could already see the problem.

If he admitted he was scared, Damien would tease him for the rest of his life.

If he denied it, Damien would tease him for the rest of his life.

Luca was doomed either way.

Desperate to regain his dignity, Luca hatched a plan.

Step one: Pretend he needed a snack.

Step two: Go to the kitchen and never come back.

"I'm gonna get something to eat," Luca announced, standing up quickly.

Damien eyed him. "Running away?"

"No."

Damien grinned. "You totally are."

Luca ignored him and stalked into the kitchen, heart still pounding from the stupid movie.

Unfortunately, Damien was one step ahead.

Because the moment Luca stepped into the kitchen, the lights flickered.

Luca froze.

Another flicker.

Then—

A soft whisper from behind him.

"Luca..."

Luca's entire body seized.

Slowly, slowly, he turned around.

And there stood Damien—looming in the doorway, backlit by the dim light, face partially shadowed.

Luca flinched.

And Damien?

Damien grinned like the devil himself.

"BOO."

Luca swung.

Not even thinking—just reacting—he punched Damien right in the stomach.

Damien doubled over, wheezing.

Luca gasped. "Oh my—Damien, I—"

"Worth it," Damien wheezed, grinning despite the pain.

Luca scowled. "You asshole!"

Damien cackled.

Luca stomped past him. "I'm not watching the rest of that movie."

"Sweetheart, c'mon," Damien called after him, still laughing. "I'll protect you."

Luca slammed the bedroom door shut.

And Damien, still grinning like an idiot, knew one thing for certain.

Luca was never living this down.
