Luca wasn't paying attention.
Typical.
Eyes glued to his phone, probably checking messages, when—
Smack.
He stumbled back, catching himself just before he tripped over his own feet.
"Sorry—" he started before blinking in surprise.
Elias.
Of all people.
The man who had been his first love, now standing before him with an amused smirk.
"Well," Elias chuckled, "I guess fate has a sense of humor."
Luca gave him a sheepish smile. "Yeah, seems like it."
Elias tilted his head. "You free? There's a café just around the corner."
Luca hesitated.
He and Damien hadn't exactly talked about Elias since the party, but it wasn't like Luca had anything to hide.
So he nodded. "Yeah, okay."
The café was quiet, the scent of freshly brewed coffee filling the air.
Luca stirred his drink absently.
Elias watched him with a small smile. "You look good, Luca."
Luca snorted. "I know."
Elias laughed. "Still the same."
They talked—about old memories, dumb things they did in school, and the way life had changed since then.
It was... nice.
Luca didn't regret coming.
Until—
Damien walked in.
Luca felt Damien before he even saw him.
That heavy, magnetic presence.
The café suddenly felt smaller.
Luca turned just as Damien's gaze locked onto him—sharp, dark, unreadable.
Luca winced.
Oh no.
Damien's eyes flicked to Elias, then back to Luca.
Then, without a word, he strode over.
"Sweetheart," Damien said, voice calm but dangerous. "What a surprise."
Luca groaned internally.
Elias, to his credit, simply smiled. "Damien."
Luca knew that tone.
Damien leaned down, one hand casually resting on the back of Luca's chair, the other stealing a sip from Luca's coffee like he owned it.
Luca sighed. "Damien."
Damien ignored him, staring Elias down. "Didn't expect to see you here."
Elias shrugged. "Neither did I."
Luca could feel the tension.
He looked between them before rubbing his temples. "Alright, nope. We're not doing this."
Damien raised an eyebrow. "Doing what?"
Luca crossed his arms. "The whole territorial chest-thumping thing."
Damien smirked. "Sweetheart, I don't need to do that. Everyone already knows you're mine."
Luca swore Elias was trying not to laugh.
Great.
Elias left not long after, and Luca braced himself.
As expected, Damien wasn't pleased.
He didn't say anything at first, just walking beside Luca in silence.
Until—
"Why?" Damien finally asked.
Luca sighed. "It was just coffee."
Damien clenched his jaw. "With your first love."
Luca stopped walking.
He turned to Damien, expression softer.
"Damien," he said, stepping closer, fingers grazing Damien's wrist. "I don't love Elias. I love you."
Damien exhaled slowly.
"I know," he muttered.
Luca smirked. "Oh? Then why the jealousy, Mr. Callisto?"
Damien scowled. "I wasn't jealous."
Luca laughed. "You literally drank my coffee just to assert dominance."
Damien grumbled something under his breath.
Luca grinned.
Then, standing on his toes, he kissed Damien—slow, lingering.
By the time they pulled away, Damien's grip on his waist had tightened.
Luca whispered, "You don't need to worry about anyone, Damien."
Damien sighed. "You make it impossible to stay mad."
Luca smirked. "I know."
