That night, when they were alone, Luca finally spoke.
"Damien," he said quietly, "you put a target on my back today."
Damien sighed. "I know."
"And you don't regret it?"
Damien turned to him, expression softer now.
"I regret that you ever had to worry about this," he murmured. "But Luca—you're mine."
His fingers brushed Luca's jaw.
"And I don't let anyone question what's mine."
Luca swallowed.
For the first time since all this started, he realized something important.
He wasn't just beside Damien anymore.
He was part of this world now.
And whether he liked it or not...
There was no turning back.
Luca had never been a man of grand gestures.
But today?
Today, he was making an exception.
Because if Damien thought he was the only one allowed to make dramatic declarations of love, then Luca was about to prove him wrong.
It started with a simple idea.
Put a ring on Damien's finger.
No warning. No buildup. No elaborate speech.
Just slip it on, watch the chaos unfold, and enjoy the moment.
Luca had even chosen the perfect setting.
Their home.
No flashy dinner. No crowd.
Just Damien, completely unprepared.
Exactly how Luca wanted him.
It was late.
Damien was on the couch, half-asleep, scrolling lazily through his phone.
Luca sat beside him, feigning nonchalance.
His heart? Racing.
"Damien."
A sleepy hum.
Luca took his hand.
Damien didn't react at first—just let Luca play with his fingers like it was nothing new.
And then—
Luca pulled out a simple silver ring and slid it onto Damien's ring finger.
Silence.
The world paused.
Luca held his breath.
Then Damien blinked.
Once.
Twice.
Thrice.
Slowly, his brain caught up.
His eyes snapped to the ring.
Then to Luca.
Then back to the ring.
"Luca," Damien said, his voice higher than usual.
Luca smirked.
"Yeah?"
Damien's mouth opened—then closed—then opened again.
"Did you just—"
"Yeah."
"You—"
"Yup."
"You're—"
"Mm-hmm."
Damien stared.
His entire face turned a deep shade of red.
Luca had seen Damien in every possible state—furious, amused, exhausted, covered in blood.
But this?
This was new.
This was gold.
"You put a ring on my finger." Damien's voice cracked.
Luca leaned in, grinning.
"You gonna take it off?"
Damien glared.
"Of course not," he snapped, clutching his hand like someone was going to steal it.
Luca chuckled.
"Good."
He kissed Damien's knuckles, right over the ring.
Damien sputtered.
"You—!"
Luca leaned back, satisfied.
"Guess that makes you mine now."
Damien grumbled something under his breath, but his fingers tightened around Luca's.
Neither of them let go.
Not now. Not ever.
