SPENCERS POV:
A FEW DAYS LATER
The week had gone by uneventfully. David and Bryce had stayed over, while my mom had been working on doing something... I'm not really sure yet.
My alarm went off. Dammit. Friday morning. Is there anything more depressing than an alarm going off? I don't think so. After laying and wondering how I was ever lucky enough to deserve Jesse, I was interrupted.
My phone buzzed, and I would have been pissed if anyone else would have texted me except for him.
1 New Message: From: My Boy
Hey :) Ready to go, babe?
Seeing that term of endearment made me start freaking out all over again. I cant believe that he is mine. I love seeing him, hugging him, his hand in mine.
After my morning routine, I walked out and texted him.
To: My Boy
Hey! Ready to go. Come pick me up?
A familiar honk in my driveway told me that he was ready. After walking out with my backpack, and saying goodbye to my mom. She looked especially happy, with purpose in her step.
After I got in the car, I leaned over and pecked his lips. He smiled at me.
"Well good morning to you too, sunshine." He said lovingly. I looked back and saw that David and bryce were in the back seat. What? They were holding hands? That's cool and all, just a little surprising.
"Were going to the airport." David said wearily, but happily. I guess we aren't going to school then.
I had to admit, I was a little happy, but I knew I would miss him.
We pulled into the airport after a long drive. We started to walk in, and suddenly every step became painful. I knew that every step I took brought me closer to possibly never seeing David again. I mean, New York? When would I ever go there? I want too though.
After warding off funny stares at not only one, but two gay couples, we arrived at the gate. We helped David and Bryce walk down to the loading arm, when we all stopped. We looked up, knowing that this was where we parted. And that's okay. We would both move on, and miss each other. Because what was happening was obviously meant too.
As it turns out, Bryce got kicked out too, and him and David were going to live in New York with his mom.
We all hugged, and said our goodbyes. We all left teary eyed, but knew we would see each other again, in a place with no darkness.
When me and Jess got back to the car, he grabbed my hand, and we started to drive.
"Where are we going now?" I asked.
"You'll see." He said.
"I don't know... Last time you said that it turned out really great though, so im just going to trust you" Is said.
We drove for a very long time, and arrived at a overlook of salt lake city. It was where my uncle was buried. I never knew him, but still somehow felt peaceful here, feeling like I was safe here, not only in Jessie's arms, but also where my uncle was. It was about noon, and it was very cloudy, and overcast.
Only the city was alive. It was a very pretty day for being overcast. Jesse had been humming through the entire time we were walking over to the overlook.
"What are you singing?" I asked.
"Oh, Just an old song that has been passed down through my family." He said.
"Sing it for me?" I asked sheepishly.
"Uh... I don't know..."
"Please? For me?" I said with the biggest puppy dog face I could possibly try and make.
Ugh, fine. But I'm not going to be happy about it, he said with a smirk.
He started to sing, in the most beautiful voice I had ever heard.
"You are my sunshine,
My only sunshine,
You make me happy,
When skies are gray.
You'll never know dear,
How much I love you
Please don't take, my sunshine away."
At the end he just looked at me. And I leaned forward into a tight embrace.
He pulled something out of his pocket.
"Spencer?" He asked.
"Yeah?" I said half laughing.
"You. Are. My. Sunshine." He said.
He opened up my hand, and placed something into it. He closed it before I could look at it.
When he let go of my hand, I opened it up and found a Silver ring.
"Don't freak out, I'm not proposing to you....................Yet..." He said laughing.
I laughed shyly. I spun the ring around, and found a beautiful sun design engraved into the side of it. I looked up at him, and he was smiling. I knew one thing - I loved this boy more than anything in this world. And what he does, I will do. Where he goes, I will go. Honestly, If he was proposing, I probably would have said yes.
Just then, a single ray of sunlight broke through the clouds on the city, making it look angelic.
"Now just look what your doing!" He said laughing.
"I'm sorry! I cant help it!" I said. And even I was surprised at my response. Usually, I would have felt uncomfortable, and denied it.
But I feel something different. Ever since I met Jesse, I feel like my life has taken an upward spiral. He completes me. And I hope I complete him.
"Hey Jess?" I asked.
"Yeah, babe?" He said
"Am I... Am I enough? I like the feeling whenever I'm with you, but I don't want to limit you, just because of my selfishness."
"Close your eyes." He said.
I obeyed.
He leaned in, and took me in his arms. He pulled me closer. Then he whispered in my ear.
"Spencer Beckstead, I will love you until the day I die. You make me the happiest human being on the planet. And I never want you to leave me."
That was the best thing I have ever heard.

Just to let you guys know, I had an absolute blast writing this story. I think my next book will be aimed at a higher age, just because writing about guys this early in life is a little.... awkward. Idk. I know I can do better. Anyway, Thanks so much for reading and stay tuned for the final chapters!
