*Aiden's POV*

"You about ready?" Tucker asked, stepping into the room that had been given to me just weeks ago.

I didn't like the change from my place to this. The house was nice, don't get me wrong, but it just wasn't home. We weren't allowed to go back, either. At least, not yet.

Tucker said he needed to speak to the head of the council before we could return him. Though I made no efforts to rush him about it, he knew I was nearing the end of my rope.

"Almost. I do have a few questions, though. And they're not about my past."

"Okay, shoot."

Getting up from my chair and moving to the bed I had been sleeping on, I set my head down on the pillow then smiled as Tucker did the same.

"Well, the first one is: Why did the council send Shera?"

Sighing, he took in each word I said, contemplating his thoughts and answers carefully.

"I commited a great crime by changing you. The only time a vampire is allowed to change a human, is if their life is about to end. If they're not dying, it is considered as what humans think of as treason."

"So they aren't happy campers, are they?"

"Not at all."

"What's going to happen to you?"

There was a hint of fear in my voice, and I know he picked up on it too. Sliding closer to me, I his hand intertwine his fingers with mine, trying to reasure me it was okay.

I know it sounded weird, but I didn't want him to get into any trouble on my behalf. True he had ended my life and it was his fault all of this happened, but it just didn't seem right to me.

"Well, since this is my first offence, they sent Shera. Now that she is incapacitated, I have to go and plead my reasons to them. Best case scenario, I leave without a problem. Worst case, I get branded a heritic and hunted down till the end of my days, as well as any others I've turned to vampires"

I hated the way he said the last part, like it was the most casual thing in the world to have happen to you.

"Odds are though, I'll just get a slap on the wrist and sent on my way. What else do you want to know?"

"What exactly is Shera?"

He say there in silence for a while before finally speaking. His voice caught me off guard as it entered my ears. Pity flooded every word he spoke, along with a small amount of fear.

"Shera was the first to be branded a heritic. She changed a pregnant woman who bore her husbands unborn child. Over come with rage at finding out her lover had someone else, she lost control and changed her without her being close to death. When the council found out, she was hunted down, and eventually caught. The price for being a heritic is your fangs."

"So she was once a vampire?"

"Yes, Aiden, she was."

"But I don't understand, taking away her fangs should have killed her. I mean, she can't eat."

"When a vampire gets their fangs removed, it doesn't kill them, but it changes them forever. Without fresh blood, the mind can't think clearly, and since Shera could no longer drink from anything, her mind faded to insanity. If a vampire gets their fangs removed, they can no longer die, and stay dead without a still beating human heart placed into their chest."

"Wait, so when I punched that hole through her chest, that didn't kill her?"

I could hear the astonishment in my own voice. I remember the feeling of my fist penetrating her skin, the sickening sound it made as her body just became limp after my strike.

"I'm afraid not, Aiden. She'll likely be back up and in chains at the counselors mansion."

I felt like I was going to throw up. Though I hadn't been a vampire long, the idea of losing my fangs and becoming another Shera terrified me.

"I didn't mean to scare you, Aiden."

I hadn't even realized my body was shaking until I felt his arms wrap around me. Cuddling closer and burying my head into his chest, I tried to gain control of the trembling that over took me, but couldn't find the strength to do so.

"I would never let that happen to you, Aiden. Ever."

His words brought more comfort then I would have thought possible. Though I had a number of other questions, I knew it was getting late and I could tell he was tired. Telling him I had just one more question, he kept his eyes on me the entire time I spoke.

"Who is the council? I mean, what are their names?"

"You'll find out soon enough, love. All of us are going to be there when I go and speak to them."

The very idea of it sent shivers down my spine. We were going to meet the very people who decide if we end up like Shera, or somehow just move on.

Trying my best to to push the thought from my mind, telling him okay and getting off the bed, I tried to mentally prepare myself for what I was about to do. The idea of killing someone, drinking their life away still made me shudder. I wanted nothing more than to remove this rasp that had over taken my voice, to quench this thirst that burned at the back of my throat, but to take a life for my own personal existence seemed beyond cruel.

Taking my hand and leading me to the front door, I said good bye to everyone in the house then ran out the door with Tucker.

Everything was beyond clear. I could see every detail of the objects we passed. Things I would never have noticed, things that hardly seemed real, even things that didn't belong. Running at full speed to catch up with Tucker, everything seemed slower than I had expected. Though miles flew by like seconds, I could still make out every detail of a blade of grass, swaying in the wind.

We ran for at least twenty minutes until we were in an area I never even knew existed. By the time Tucker had finally slowed down, he had to use his arms to catch and stop me because I couldn't manage to do it myself.

"We're going to have to work on that." He said laughing, making sure I steadied myself.

Joining his laughter, we started walking around the park keeping a careful eye on the people here at night. A group of guys looked like they were finishing up a basketball game, gathering up their things, and heading separate ways.

"Wait here." Tucker stated, leaving me by the swing set.

I could see his every move as he walked to the one guy that remained on the court. Though his pace seemed slow to my eyes, I could tell the person wouldn't be able to see him.

A loud crack sent a terrifying chill down my spine and I watched in horror as Tucker bit into his neck, sending blood to the ground and all over his face. There was no way I could commit such an act. As it was, I felt like my stomach was going to release itself all over the ground in front of me.

Running back over to where I was standing, he carried the body the entire way then set him down in front of me.

"Drink."

His voice was rough. He seemed heavily intoxicated by what he had just taken in, while his eyes shined brighter than ever before. Blood dripped off his face in lips, sending chill after chill throughout my entire body.

"You need to drink, Aiden. There isn't a lot left, but enough to hold through the night."

I didn't want too, but the sight of it had suddenly shifted in my eyes. The liquid that spilled to the ground no longer seemed repulsive, but immensely appealing. No matter how my mind tried to fight it, I could feel my body inching closer to the man who had just lost his life

It felt as though I was on fire. Not just my skin, but everything inside me burned a though the flames of hell had taken refuge in my body. Each drop that danced across my tongue sent waves of power through each of my veins, earning a loud moan from my mouth.

Pulling away as the last bits of blood entered my system, I gasped in shock as Tucker came into view. My eyes seemed to have become sharper, showing me every detail of his perfect frame.

Moving towards him, I began to lick the remaining bits of blood off of his face, earning a loud moan from him, then me as he did the same. My body seemed so sensitive to his touch, like fireworks going off under my skin. Pulling himself from me and running off back to the house, I followed him with ease jumping over anything that seemed like a challenge.

My room arrive twice as fast as the park first did. I knew it was late, and that I needed sleep for tomorrow, I had way to much energy to lay down. Tucker had already taken place on my bed, patting the spot next to him in an attempt to get me next to him. Walking over, I cuddled up in his arms and began to kiss up and down his neck.

Small soft moans left his mouth as I flicked my tongue up and down, but cut short as he pulled my lips to his. Every inch of my body ached for him to continue, to take his actions to another level, but never once did he try.

"I'm not going to take advantage of you, Aiden."

"I started this, didn't I?" I gasped, practically begging him to continue. I had never felt like something like this before. The lust that had overtaken me, this part of me I never knew existed seemed to have been magnified by one thousand.

"You're not in your normal state of mind, and I neither am I. Please, let's just get to sleep."

Normally, I would have been happy he was stopping me. Happy he was being a gentleman, but for some reason, I couldn't control this new part of me. I wanted him, and I wanted him now.

"Tucker, I am no where near tired."

"Just close your eyes."

Deciding to humor him, I did as he asked and almost instantly felt my body change. The heaviest form of sleep dropped on me so suddenly, it felt as if the sandman himself buried me in the desert.

Cuddling as close to him as our bodies would allow, I felt his arms tightening around me while his hands slid up and down my back. I could feel sleep creeping up on me, and Tucker looked just as tired. Finally giving in, I decided to close my eyes once more.

"Goodnight, my love."
