*Aiden's POV*

"Aiden? Aiden, can you hear me?"

Turning my head in every direction possible, I tried to find the voice that floated through the air, haunting my ears with questions I wasn't sure were really being asked.

Snow fell from the sky above me, coating the ground and trees that surrounded my sight. Though I had no idea where I was, the entire situation seemed unusually familiar to me.

"Aiden, if you can here me, call out your name."

The voice sounded so close to me. I recognised it, but couldn't put a name to it. Ignoring the calls that ran through my head, I decided to walk around and see where I had ended up.

"Aiden, don't listen to her, this is only a dream!"

The voice echoed through my mind, removing all other sounds that should have been resting in my ears. I could see birds chirping, wolves howling, and even fireflies lighting up before me, but no other sound made it passed the new voice.

"K-Kylan?"

It was hard to talk. My head pounded, sending waves of agony throughout every inch of my body, but paled in comparison to the pain my left eye began to release.

"Yes. Aiden, do not listen to her. You have to wake up!"

A sharp blast of pain shot its way into my mind as the voices battled in my head. It felt as though I was going to explode. I felt the cold snow beneath my knees as I fell forward, cradling my head.

"Don't listen to him, Aiden. Call out your name, call out your name and this will all go away."

Over powered by pain, a loud scream escaped my lips and echoed through the snow covered land, bouncing off all the near by objects.

"Aiden, come here."

Looking up as a new voice floated through the air, I gasped in shock as Tucker came into view. Holding out his hand to help me up, I took hold of it and managed to get to my feet.

The pain from my left eye soared to new levels as our hands connected, causing me to jump back in pain and almost fall over again. He seemed...different. Though he looked the same, something about his demeanor had changed completely.

"Its okay, Aiden. Its only me." He said, taking a step towards me.

"Call out your name. That's all it will take for us to be together."

"Aiden, its not him! You need to wake up!"

I felt like my head was being ripped apart. As the two voices battled in my I fell to the ground once more then cried out in pain as Tucker's arms made their way across my chest.

Closing my eyes, I screamed for this to stop, to just go away, but despite my cries, the pain grew ten fold. I could feel my body being lifted from the snow once again, but this time it didn't hurt.

The agony that once held me in its grasp seemed to fade like a candle left in the night wind. Opening my eyes once more I found myself in the arms of someone I didn't recognize, but no pain coursed through my body.

Everything seemed to melt away as his grasp on me tightened. Looking around as my eyes began to blur, I gasped in shock as I realized I had moved, but my body was in the same place.

I could see myself in front of me, cradling my head as Tucker held tight to my body. It felt as though I was moving, though my feet stayed planted to the ground.

As my eye sight began to blur even more I looked down at the arms that held me in place, then up to the face that rested itself to the back of my head.

Though his eyes were closed, and his breathing labored, I still found a sense of relaxation here in his arms. Everything around us seemed to fade. Even he was washing from my eyes as the world around me faded to black.

Opening my eyes once more, I took in the familiar surroundings that made shape before me. I was back in the same place I had fallen asleep in, but Tucker wasn't in the bed with me, instead sitting off in a corner scribbling onto a notebook.

"GOOD MORNING!"

Jumping at the unexpected voice that flowed through the air, my body shot upwards in time to see Tucker fly from the the corner he was in and charge to where the voice had come from.

A loud roar left his lips as his right arm flew forward, grabbing Kylan by the neck and slamming him to the wall behind.

"God damn it, Kylan! What they hell are you doing here? I could have killed you!"

Letting go of his throat and walking back towards the bed, I intertwined my fingers with his, in hopes it would calm him down.

"Well, someones obviously not a morning person." Kylan stated, walking over to us. "How are you doing, Aiden?"

I wasn't sure how to respond. He had to know about my dream. Hell, he was in it.

After voicing my thoughts on what had occurred, he turned his gaze from me and pretending the question was never asked, he brought his eyes to Tucker and demanded where he had gone last night.

"Alec wanted to talk to me, so I went to see what he wanted."

Something started beeping on his wrist, causing him to roll his eyes and walk away from the bed.

"Aiden was attacked by another spellcaster, last night. You can't leave him while he sleeps, Tucker. I'll explain more when I can, but for now I have to go."

Though his body vanished from my site, his words managed to linger in the air, haunting my every thought. What did he mean another spellcaster? Why did that voice sound so familiar?

"I'm sorry I left, Aiden." Tucker said, breaking my thoughts.

After telling him it was okay, I did my best to describe what had happened in my dream, but I could tell it was making little sense to him.

After changing the subject and getting out of bed, I agreed to go hunt with him before the sun came up and just like before, he made the kill and brought the rest over for me to finish.

I could feel new waves of power coursing through every inch of my being. Gasping for air as I stepped away, I felt Tucker grab hold of my hand and pull me back to the house.

Lying back down in the bed we shared, I felt him slide his body against mine, pulling my arms around him as he buried his head in my chest. Though the position was different from our norm, it still felt oddly comforting holding him, instead of the other way around.

We didn't speak for quite some time. Just laying there with him in my arms was all the noise I seemed to need. The memory of him confessing his love to me began to take shape in my mind, leaving me with a strong feeling of guilt for not returning his words.

I know it bothered him too, and I think that's what gets to me the most. I know I have strong feelings for him, but love? I don't know. I refused to tell him something that wasn't true, especially something of that caliber, but I could still see the pain behind his eyes when I didn't say it back.

"Are you alright, Aiden?"

Pushing the thoughts as best I could as his words entered my ears, I told him I was okay, and just lost in thought.

"What's on your mind?"

I found myself debating on whether or not I should tell him. I knew I would get either a positive, or negative reaction, and I feared for what both would bring. I could feel myself studdering, and hardly getting words out, till he pushed his fingers to my lips, silencing my voice.

"I know I asked, but I'm going to ask that you don't say what I think you're trying to say. Not yet."

A mixture of worry and relief flooded my mind as he finished his words. I could hear he was holding back, that he wanted to say more, but he kept quiet, holding his thoughts to himself.

"Are you sure? I think we need to talk ab-"

"Not yet, Aiden. Please."

Pain painted his face as the words left his mouth and cut into mine. After kissing his forehead and tightening my hold on him, another thought popped into my head.

"I have a question, if I may."

Bringing his face up to mine, a small smile appeared on his face as he told me to go ahead.

"Well, you said Shera went crazy due to no fresh blood. Couldn't someone have just fed her some?"

"They could have, but it would have only gone so far. You see, when a vampire drinks blood from someone, their fangs remove that persons soul. That's why you see their memories. The blood gives us strength and the soul keeps us together."

"Then how can someone become, or be born a vampire?"

"Well, a child has to be born without a soul. The mother also has to take in massive amounts of blood to keep the child 'alive' and to make sure he or she is even born. To turn vampire, you only have to drink from someone who has no soul. In doing so, it kills yours, but still let's you live...so to speak."

"So that's why we can't lose our fangs."

"Yes, Aiden, that's why. However, we might want to get out of bed. Me and Alec talked last night, and we figured the sooner we see the council, the better."

"So, we're going today?"

That feeling of dread took over once more. Our entire existence seemed to be held firmly in the council's hand.

"Everyone is already waiting for us."

Sliding off the bed and and heading for the door, Tucker's hand made its way to mine and began to intertwine his fingers between them.

Everyone was waiting by the front door as we walked out. Looking at everyones face and taking in features, I could tell everyone of them was as nervous as me.

"Be careful, Aiden. And Tucker, please keep an eye on him."

"I'll keep both eyes on him, ma'am."

"Wait, your not coming, aunt Ellis?" I asked, bringing my eyes to her's.

"No, dear, I'm not. Alec is going to stay here with me and help get some things sorted out."

Though I didn't want to leave her here, I figured I didn't have much choice in the matter, so I simply walked over to hug her, and said goodbye.

"Everyone ready?" Paul asked, stepping forward.

"As ready as I can be."
