Silva's birthday party was the last place Hunter Price thought he would be on a cold December night like this. He promised to go only because she asked, and it was pretty damn hard to say no to the birthday girl.

He was getting a headache from all the screaming and loud music inside of Pierson's house. It was his cue to step out for fresh air when Carmen tried to approach her. After that big stunt in front of the whole school, there was no way he'd take her back. The only reason she was ever nice to Silvia was because of Hunter. He asked for her to not give Silvia a hard time, that she had gone through enough and didn't need to form any enemies. Carmen promised she wouldn't start any trouble. But that all changed after that night at the Smell when Hunter had gotten hurt. A sense of vengeance sparked in her eyes, and Hunter saw it right away. He broke it off, thinking it would make her less destructive. It did the exact opposite though.

Hunter eased his back on the side of the house and fished out his phone, checking on his notifications. The back door reopened. He poked his head around the corner and saw Pierson walking out, grinning like a fool.

"You look awfully happy." Hunter pointed out. "Did you get laid?"

"Nah." He bit the corner of his lip. "But I think I'm really close to getting with Silvia."

Hunter snorted a laugh and stuffed his phone back into his pants. "I have a feeling that you'll be losing her trust pretty soon."

"What are you talking about?" Pierson growled. "If you think I was behind that whole video thing at the end of school, you're wrong."

"Oh, am I?" He mused. "Because the only one I can see benefiting from this is you. I first thought it was just Carmen behind it, but then it accrued to me. If Silvia never gets back with Dakota, then who will be the one winning in this situation? Ah, right. Pierson. It's the perfect opportunity for you to swoop in, steal the girl and appear as the hero." Hunter began to slow clap. "Bravo. You're a class A-jackass."

Pierson rushed up to him. "I didn't do this."

"Then why are you trembling?" Hunter observed. "We both know that video was extremely fake. The guy didn't even look like Dakota. He had a few similar traits, but that video was way too grainy to confirm if that was him or a look alike."

"Silvia doesn't think that."

"So you don't even think it's Dakota either?"

"I don't know what I saw, okay."

"But you keep telling her that he cheater on her, insisting that the video was real?" Hunter found himself laughing in amazement. "We both know damn well that Dakota wouldn't do that to her. You've seen the way he is with Silvia. It's not like when he was with Carmen. You're really something else Pierson if you're the reason behind all of this. I might not like the guy, but I at least have the decency to not ruin Silvia's image of him."

"I swear I wasn't behind it."

Hunter took a step forward and grabbed Pierson by his collars. "You better pray I don't find out you were behind this. Because if I find out you were even involved in a small fraction of it, I'll make sure your second semester at Crescent High is hell. And you know I'm fucking capable to ruin your life."

"W-why do you even care so much?" he stammered.

Hunter dropped him, causing him to stumble back a few steps. He refrained from punching Pierson square in the jaw for saying that. For even offering that. "I know what she's been through and I know that she doesn't need you or your stupid friends to mess with her."

"Hey, you're one of my so-called stupid friends."

"Yeah, don't remind me." He huffed, smoothing out the wrinkles from his polo shirt. "I'm serious about what I said though. I'm hoping you aren't a part of this at all."

Pierson shifted nervously in his shoes. "You...you can't tell her that I did it. She won't be able to ever look at me if she knew I set that entire thing up. I wasn't going to do it; honestly I wasn't going to. I was set on never doing a Segg prank. But when Finn opened up Dakota's spot for a Segg prank and practically offered it to me at a low price, I knew I had to take it."

"Wait. You can't just prank a Segg member. That's against the rules. Don't you mean you set a bet on Silvia?"

"Dakota is an ex-Segg member. Finn cut him off after he found out that he wasn't doing the tasks anymore and that he wanted to protect Silvia."

"Anymore?"

"Yeah, he...he did a lot before he finally cracked and stopped taking orders. He switched the script on him and refused to go ahead and do what other Segg members wanted to have happen to her, especially after the video surfaced. This all started because someone in Crescent High wants Silvia gone, and gone for good." Pierson rectified him. "Finn offered her spot to the second highest bidder."

"I haven't seen Silvia get pranked though. What is it?"

Pierson shrugged. "Apparently it's a pretty big deal. Something huge. I tried to tell him to go easy on her, but he said that he wouldn't. Supposedly she didn't do some kind of deal he had with her."

(A/N: We have come to the end! The sequel to Disarming Dakota is up right now. The title is Dismissing Dakota and you can find it on my profile or by simply searching up 'Dismissing Dakota'. I'm sorry if you felt like the end was rushed. Commented your thoughts below on the end if you want 😊)

Update: For the one the hundredth time, Silvia is not half siblings with Hunter and Maven Price. I never - not even once - said they were half siblings. Hunter always says "your dad, Silvia." I always get comments about how they're half siblings. And then I get other comments correcting me, saying how I'm wrong for writing "step-siblings." I know what I'm writing. THEY AREN'T RELATED BY BLOOD. In one of the first chapters, IT SAYS THAT.
