So, it's a new chapter, yay! I thank you all for your patience once again, and I hope you enjoy this chapter that's only a built up for what is to come.

This chapter is also kind of shorter than previous ones, but the next chapter will surly be longer. Or well, I'll try to make it longer. No promises!

Anyways, enjoy. :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Aiden's P. O. V.

It was nearly the appointed time, and already I was a nervous wreck.

Standing outside Nathans house, my car on idle as I struggled to work up the courage to walk up to the front door and request for Nathan, it certainty seemed like I wasn't going anywhere now was I at this rate?

I let out a long, frustrated sigh and pulled at my collar, feeling constricted even with its loose material.

I briefly glanced down to once over myself and make sure I looked decent before I presented myself to Nathan or his parents.

I was dressed in a gray, short-sleeved cotton shirt that hung leisurely to my body, leaving room to breath, and dark blue jeans with rips across the knee area. Today I had styled my hair so that it was wavy and silky soft. One look at it would fill you with the urge to run your hands through my hair.

Once I had confirmed that I looked good enough, I began pumping myself up as a way to get rid of my onset of nervousness.

Come on, you can do this, I thought encouragingly. You've worked so hard to find the perfect place, there's no reason to become a coward now and let all that go to waste, especially since I was going to prove to Nathan just how true my feelings for him were.

So, pull yourself together and go to him, before he thinks you chickened out on this date!

I grumbled disgruntledly, my self-inflicted harsh words seemed to have knocked some sense into me and I began making my way over to the front door. I walked slowly, so as to give myself some more time to calm myself down, and by the time I had reached the door, I was as composed as I could be, considering my present situation.

I swallowed hard, beads of sweat running down my back due to my nerves, and knocked on the door three times, loud enough for whoever was inside to hear me.

It wasn't long after before the door swung open to reveal Mrs. Fernandez, and she wasn't alone. I spotted a man coming up behind her, and I assumed, from his looks, that he was Nathan's father, Mr. Fernandez.

I grew even more nervous as the man neared, and my heart rate increased two fold, as it was my first time meeting the man. Last time I came here, it was only Nathan's mother that had been around, Mr. Fernandez having been at work at the time.

I took this opportunity to get a closer look at the man, and from what I saw, Mr. Fernandez shared similar traits between him and Nathan.

Both had the same facial structure, with their sharp jaw lines. They even gave off the same aura; somewhat cold, untouchable; but, at the same time, his eyes held warmth. It was like staring at the older version of Nathan, and I couldn't help but approve of such future prospects, because if Nathan looked this good when he was much older, then I had a lot to look forward to.

I can see where Nathan got such good looks from, I thought appraisingly.

I mentally shook my head at myself, as this was not the time to be think of such things, and prepared myself for what Mr. Fernandez will do to me, knowing that I was a man, and taking his son out on a date.

I could only hope he won't react too badly to me and possibly have a good impression of me, even welcome me with open arms.

God, this is so daunting!

"Aiden, it's good to see you again," Mrs. Fernandez said, seeming sincere, a wide smile forming on her face as she gazed with shinning eyes at me. Her cheeks were flushed slightly red with happiness, and there was no doubt in my mind that she knew the reason for my visit.

Well, at least I know I have her approval, I thought with some relief.

"You too, Mrs. Fernandez," I said with an answering smile to match her bright one, grateful for her support.

"Ah, why don't you just call my by my first name, Andrea," Mrs. Fernandez suggested, seeming fine with me being on a first name basis with her already, which only goes to show how much she favored me and my relationship with Nathan.

I gave her an awkward, but thankful smile in return. "Yes, Mrs. Fern-, I mean, Andrea."

This will take some time getting used to, saying her first name, instead of what I would be more comfortable say, that is, the name Mrs. Fernandez, I thought.

"Hmm," she seemed pleased by this, and if possible, her eyes began to shine even brighter with enthusiasm. "Alright, let me introduce you to my husband, as I'm sure this is your first time meeting him. Dear?"

Sensing that it was his turn to speak up, the man opened his mouth and introduced himself to me. "Hello, I'm Nathan's father, Rick Fernandez," he said in clear voice, and I couldn't help but be slightly pressured by the way he carried himself: with such confidence, to the point of causing intimidation.

So this is Nathan's father...

I suppressed the urge to gulp loudly due to my sudden increase in anxiety.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Fernandez," I said with as much sincerity as I could muster, hoping that I didn't sound as stiff as I believed I was. Though I'm sure my word choices only told him exactly how nervous I was.

"No need to be so formal, just call me Rick," he said, his gaze calm and kind, at least, for now.

I nodded my head in agreement, then took a deep breath and prepared for what was to happen next, as I was unsure how my next words will affect them and their attitudes towards me. Or well, the only one I actually had to worry about the most was how Nathan's father will react, as Mrs. Fernandez already knew the reason for my visit.

"Then, Andrea, Rick, I'm sure you know why I'm here. I've come to get Nathan so that we may go on a date." Once the words were out of my mouth, I held my breath as I waited for their response.

Mrs. Fernandez let out a small giggle, seeming delighted by what I had said. "Of course we know why you're here. Nathan told us all about it. Though, we don't know the specifics."

This seemed to cause her to grow curious, and I had no doubts that she was tempted to ask for more details. But even so, I did not plan on revealing anything to her for fear of her blurting any spoilers out while Nathan was around.

"So... your fine with me taking him on a date, even though I'm a guy?" I asked, really just seeking self-assurance that I had not mistaken her earlier feelings of approval.

I also quickly shot Mr. Fernandez a look to see how he was taking the news, but from what I could see, he remained as calm and friendly as before. I still stayed cautious towards him in case its was all just a mask to hide his real feelings.

"Really now, what kind of parents would we be if we didn't accept our child for who he really is?" Mrs. Fernandez said, as if the idea of rejecting their son for who he was, was an absurd notion that was not at all possible. Like it hadn't of even crossed their minds.

A sharp pang filled with pain and jealousy went through me and stabbed at my heart when she said this, and I couldn't help but hate the world for the unfairness it brought upon me, compared to Nathan's life.

Sure Nathan had his own hardships, but if I had to pick between my life, or his, mine was definitely not the better choice, not by a long shot.

I shook my head of such thoughts and feelings and focused on the here and now, as their was no point in wishing for things that will never happen. Besides, such thoughts could end up making things complicated toward Nathan, and I'd rather keep things good between us, especially after all that trouble I went through to get back on his good side.

"Really?" I asked again, though it was pretty much set that the mother at least was all for me dating Nathan.

"Yes, we don't mind at all, as long as you take good care of him and bring him back before it gets to late at night, as you both do have school tomorrow," Mrs. Fernandez reminded.

"I promise, I'll have him back by eleven," I said, then grew panicked. "Or earlier, if you want," I added hurriedly, earning another amused chuckled form Mrs. Fernandez.

"Eleven's fine. Now, wait here, I'll go an fetch Nathan," she instructed.

I nodded my head obediently in agreement and watched as Mrs. Fernandez walked up a set of stairs, soon disappearing out of sight as she went to get Nathan.

I was now left alone with Mr. Fernandez, and couldn't help but swallow hard and glance over at him to see him assessing me with narrowed eyes.

Oh god!

Now that the wife was gone, there was no one to hold back the husband if he tries anything, I thought. He will no doubt show his true colors now that she's away.

I forced myself to put on a pleasant smile that was filled with tension, but desperately tried to hide it. "So-," I began, but was cut off before I could say another word by Mr. Fernandez.

"Are you serious?" He asked, the accessing look in his eyes seeming to grow even stronger the longer he stared at me, waiting for an answer, and all I could do was give him an uncomprehending look back.

"Can you repeat that, please?" I questioned polity, fidgeting under his pressuring scrutiny.

"You, and my son, is your relationship real?" He asked again, wording his question differently this time, and the meaning behind it was clear to me this time around.

I was quiet for a second, before a gentle smile spread along my face. "I plan on making it that way."

Mr. Fernandez gave me a surprised look, as if my answer was unexpected, but didn't have time to reply as Mrs. Fernandez came back down the stairs with Nathan in tow behind her.

I shifted my eyes away from Mr. Fernandez and to Nathan, and the moment my eyes landed on him, they widened significantly in shock. My mouth dropped open and I quickly snapped it shut before Nathan got a chance to make fun of me for making such a idiotic face.

Dressed in casual clothes, Nathan still managed to pull off the appearance of some kind of fashion model, making one easily jealous by his good looks.

Hair pulled back straight, except for a few thick strands that were styled to the right side of his face, revealed his angular, handsome face that would usually be hidden, and eyes that held a fierceness deep within them. He certainty gave off an air of sexiness. His long-sleeved, black V-neck, and blue skinny jeans that hugged him tight, only added to this thought.

His whole outfit revealed his perfect figure, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of jealousy, as well as contentment in the knowledge that this boy would one day undoubtedly be claimed as mine.

I also knew that I was not a bad looking guy myself, but when compared to Nathan, it seemed I had nothing on him in every aspect.

The unfairness of life yet again playing its tricks on me.

"You look good, Nathan," I appraised, speaking the truth, finding no reason to lie about it, as I'm sure Nathan knew just how handsome he was without me need to tell him about it.

Nathan blinked my way, gave me a once over, his gaze lingering over me for a long while, to the point where I almost detected a hint of lust in he gaze, before he turned away.

"Save the sweet talk for later when you might actually need it," he said indifferently, and amusement filled me.

He's so dishonest with himself, I thought with a mental shake of my head, hiding my smirk. Why can't he admit that he liked my compliment very much?

"Alright, I guess we should go now," I said with slight uncertainty and glanced over to Mrs. Fernandez for approve, not wanting to seem rude.

She smile and nodded her head. "Have fun," she said, "And Aiden, don't forget to have him back home by no later than eleven."

"Yes, then we'll be going. It was nice meeting you Mr. Fer-, I mean Rick," I said, and Mr. Fernandez nodded his head in acknowledgment. I then looked to Nathan. "Let's go."

Both Nathan and I left then and walked over to my car. I hopped onto the drivers seat, while Nathan the passenger one. With one last look at Nathan's parents, I shifted the clutch and set it on reverse, backed out of the driveway, threw the clutch into drive, and sped off into the distance.

As Nathan's house disappeared behind us, and I headed in the direction of our scheduled date, I couldn't help but tighten my hands around the steering wheel until my knuckles grew white from the pressure, as many emotions surged through me, causing my body to tremble.

This is it! The time has finally come for me to prove myself to Nathan, for possibly the last time. So, let the date begin! I thought, my face relaxing into an expression of excitement, my eyes filled with anticipation for what was to come.

-------------------------------------------------------

Whew, this chapter took me less time to write than I had originally thought it would, isn't that great? :)

Anyways, the date has officially begun, how exciting.

Next chapter will be even better, so look forward to it you all! ;D

Don't forget to: V/C/F.

Until next time, peace out! :P
