Sorry about the late chapter guys, I've started losing interest in writing these past few weeks ;-;

However, I will finish all my stories, and hopefully by then, the urge to write will come back to me, because I really do enjoy writing from the bottom of my heart, and have no intention to fully stop writing in this lifetime.

As a side note, this story is coming to a conclusion soon, within the next few chapters, so that's something to look forward to. Well, unless you hate when stories end, then you'll be dreading it. :P

Anyways, enjoy the chapter. Since its been too long since I've last written, I feel like I've gotten a bit rusty, so hopefully I didn't do too terrible of a job writing this chapter. :/

P.S. - Sorry it's so short; at least its longer than the last though, right? ;-;

Aiden's P. O. V.

As I rounded the corner, my heart jolted from what I saw as I became panic induced. My eyes widened with horror and rage filled me to the brim, causing me to develop tunnel vision as all I could focus on was the horror show in front of me.

There was my father, drunk and no doubt irrational from it, towering over my mother who lay pale faced and trembling on the grown, hand clutching at her bruised cheek. A small trace of blood dripped slowly down from her split lip and splashed onto the wooden floor. The sound of it echoed like church bells, loud and startling, shaking me to my very soul. Something in me swelled up then, and dreadful emotions began to boil my nerves.

"Mom!" I cried out in surprise.

My expression turned unsightly to behold as I rushed to my mother's aid, wanting nothing more than to kill this man where he stood!

My self control seemed to be on the verge of breaking as I forced myself to think rationally, as going berserk because of my anger was not in my best interest at this time.

But I was this close, so close, to snapping.

If it wasn't for my mother, who would end up bare witnessing my acts of violence, I might really of gone off on him. However, I did not want to do so in front of her, for her wellbeing only I held back.

I bent down and helped my mother to her feet with a gentle hand beneath her elbow supporting her along the way, my tentative eyes never leaving my father for even a second.

I didn't trust him to not pull some sort of stunt when my eyes were turned away, especially as drunk as he was.

As I guided my mother behind me, my father's unfocused eyes sharpened and turned towards me. A chill went down my spine from the dark look that passed through his eyes. It contained a deep rage, one that seemed to have been steaming for a while now, it seemed fueled by his intoxication.

"You!" He growled with contempt and reached for one of the empty bottles that littered the floor. This caused a bad feeling to go through me as I anxiously wondered what he planned to do with that bottle.

My father then straightened his body and began to slowly stumble his way over to me, his body swaying ever so slightly in tune to his steps. The feeling of impending danger caused me to back up as he moved forward my way. I felt like I was being stalked by a predator, me being the prey. This situation was not too far off from such a depiction.

I directed my mother with a wave of my hand to move to the other side of the room, as far away from my father, while still being in my peripheral line of sight, knowing that all his attention will now be focused on me, the object of his hate.

I raised my arms in a non threatening manner and said in my calmest voice, knowing that at any moment, my father might go off on me, and I knew for a fact that he was stronger than me, and while drunk, I knew he would not hold back that strength. At least if he was sober, I would have the slim chance of being even in a fight with him, but as drunk as he was, he had no concept of going easy on me just because I am technically his son, even if he despised the fact that I was gay.

"Put the bottle down Father, your drunk, and not thinking straight. Just calm down. Put the bottle down," I emphasized, managing to hide the slight waver in my voice from how nervous I was.

I hoped to dissuade my father from his current anger till I manage to safely lead my mother elsewhere. However, as I continued to observer my father further, I knew that this plan of mine did not work in the slightest.

I began to break out in cold sweat, a worrisome expression coating my face with creases.

"If it wasn't for you," my father continued to ramble hysterically, his hold on the bottle tightening. The muscles on his arm bulged and it seemed as if the bottle would shatter under the pressure of his grip.

Without warning, my father threw the bottle at me; I only had enough time to maneuver my head safely to the side to avoid direct collision with the flying object.

The bottle flew past my face and shattered against the wall behind me. Unfortunately, I wasn't left completely unscathed.

The force of impact from the bottle against the wall caused its shards to scatter about, and a few of those pieces of glass grazed my cheek, leaving two distant lines along my skin.

Blood bubble up through the cut and slid down my cheek. The warmth of the blood coming into contact with my cool skin caused me to shiver. My eyes contracted with slight fright as I stared wide eyed and open mouthed at my father.

Only the sting of the cuts and the sound of my mothers shocked gasp broke me from terrors grip.

I turned my head just in time to see my mother rush towards my father, face red from rage as tears gather beneath her eyes.

"How dare you!" She shrilled, her fisted hands raised high in the air, posed and ready to give someone, more specifically my father, a good beating, one she would no doubt lose.

"Stay back!" I shouted at her, my face white as I drowned in panic.

I began to breath heavily as I lurched forward and pulled my mother back, knowing if she instigated anything, then it would only make things harder for me in the long run.

She struggled within my arms, a hint to how livid she was at my father this time around. She was just like me in this aspect. When it comes to him harming her, she doesn't bother to retaliate, but the moment my fathers anger is directed at me, she loses control.

Unfortunately, there was nothing she could ever do back then when it happened because she was always overpowered by my father.

However, now that I've grown up, and after that period of no abuse from my father, she has become more independent and less tolerable of such acts of aggression towards me even more so.

This is a problem for me though, at the moment.

This was not the right time for her to explode, not when my father was already over the edge himself and ready to harm loved ones.

"I'm fine mom, just calm down and do what I say. I want you to go upstairs and call for Nathan, I'll be staying over at his house for tonight, to give father some time to calm down, you already know there's no point in talking rationally to him when he's in this state. As for you, I want you to lock yourself up in my room, and call me if anything happens, but only after you contact the police first," I instructed my mother, turning her around to face me.

I looked up and glanced over to my father. He was now slumped against the living room wall, head leaning against the wall and hands resting upon his face.

He seemed to be muttering unceasingly into his palms, only a few loud words couldn't escape my attention.

"Why... your fault... fagot..."

The last word caused me to cringe and I quickly glanced towards my mother to see if she had heard him utter that word, but from her distracted gaze, it seems like I had nothing to worry about.

"Go!" I ushered my mother along, despite her protests and look of sheer confusion.

I knew she was begging for answers to her questions on this matter, but now was neither the right time or place to discuss such pressing issues. I hurriedly followed after her upstairs, then separated from her to go to my room, where I rapidly began to pack a set of clothes and anything else I could possibly need for my sleepover with Nathan. Not caring to fold or make neat this obvious mess, I just threw my belongings into the suit case. For all I knew I was only packing shirts and no pants or underwear, I really didn't have the luxury to match sets of clothes one at a time.

My mind raced during this process as I devised a future plan.

With my father reverting back to the way he was before, I really had to start considering finding different living quarters, not only for myself, but for my mother as well.

There was no way I would allow her to stay in such dire living conditions. I would be immensely worried for her safety regarding my father.

Would he start back up his abuse towards her?

Or rather, would he reveal my secret to her, as she still has no real clue about this ugly predicament I'm in, or the fact that I'm the reason why my father started acting this way again?

Either way, I was scared of any of those situations becoming a reality. I knew I had to prevent such a thing from happening if it's the last thing I do. However, I also knew that stopping such a terrible future was not such an easy thing.

For now I can only seek refuge with Nathan till I can fully get a grasp on my situation.

And, I had no doubt that Nathan would agree to this request of mine, as he had a crystal clear grip on my current situation with my father.

A few days won't hurt.

And I would visit home while my father was at work to make sure everything was okay, and I would call my mother everyday, morning and night, to make sure she is just fine.

But what if she asks about why all this came to be?

Well...

I could only hope that such a conversation is not brought up, or to avoid it when it happens, because there is no possible way that I would be able to bring myself to tell her the truth.

But the possibility of my father spilling the beans while I'm away is unbelievably high. And no doubt my mother will be questioning him on the matter, it would only be up to him then to decide if he wants to tell her the truth or not.

Which I'm quite sure he will tell her everything.

And if that happens¦ when that happens, then I'm just afraid she would want nothing to do with me anymore. That she will disown me as her child, just like father has done.

I was so very scared of such an outcome, as I'm sure I would not be able to recover from the emotional impact that it will bring upon me.

Dread seemed to work its way through me, and my hands unconsciously clenched at the shirt that I was holding, wrinkling the fabric.

The cut on my cheek began to sting more, as if signaling the pain to come, be it emotional, or physical. The blood that coated my skin had long since dried and cracked.

Don't think about it, don't even think about such sorrowful things, I thought to myself, squeezing my eyes shut tightly.

While I was too busy distracted by my thoughts, I didn't come to notice the imposing figure walking through my door until it was too late.

"Where do you think your going?"

A frightened gasp escaped my lips and I quickly spun around to face my father, who looked even more enraged than before. The only difference was the fact that it seemed like he had sobered up some, enough so for the irrational look in his eyes to disappear.

My heart pumped fast and hard against my chest as I struggled to find an answer that would neither give away my intentions, or causing my father's anger to rise. Unfortunately, I could come up with nothing good, all I could really do was minimize the damage my answer would cause by telling small lies within the truth.

"My friend, Mia, needs help with studying for an upcoming test. I'm going to help tutor her into the night, so I figured I might as well stay the night since I don't know how long we'll be up studying," I said steadily, keeping a straight face.

My father stared me down for a good minute, and as the seconds went by, I grew more nervous, and my poker face began to slip as sweat gathered on my brow.

My father 'humphed' and leaned up against my door frame, then crossed his arms across his torso.

"Oh really now," my father began, and those words alone signaled me to the fact that he had easily seen through my lie, "So a day's stay requires that much packing?"

My muscles tensed up and I intently stared at my father, unsure of his next move or words. I could only silently pray that Nathan get's here soon, before something disastrous happens.

"You think I'm so dumb as to fall for such bullshit!" He growled. "Your headed to that faggots house aren't you? Don't you dare lie to me, I know that's where your headed."

My hands began to shake uncontrollably as I watched my father become more and more riled up. I hurriedly clenched my hands into tightly balled fist and swallowed hard, steadying myself and my chaotic emotions.

"Yes, that is where I'm headed to, and you're not going to stop me," I stated powerfully, raising my chin up as I stared down at my father, not willing to back down from this decision of mine.

"Ha, you think he wants you?" My father countered. "You, who is such a disappointment in life? Why would he want you, why would anyone want you? Your more trouble than your worth. If it hadn't of been for your mother, I would have abandoned you long ago. You think that faggot loves you, no, he pities you. No one would ever love someone like you."

A stab of pain shot through me, causing my eyes to water as a physiological war waged in my mind. My father's words hit close to home and the fears that constantly ate at me and my conscious.

And although I knew his words to be untrue, I couldn't stop myself from thinking negatively and beginning to doubt myself.

"Shut up!" I shouted with a trembling voice, "Your worse off than me, I'm the one who should be wondering why anyone could ever love someone like you. Your abusive, an alcoholic, just a total prick in general, and a homophobic piece of shit!" By the end of my rant I was breathing heavily, but rather than regretting my words instantly, I felt more relieved to get all that off my chest more than anything else.

However, my father didn't take my words too kindly.

My father's expression turns extremely dark at my words as a deep rage sparks in his eyes. "Your not going anywhere. You'll never leave this house again, I'll make sure of that, even if I have to chain you up to your bed!" My father hissed with contempt. "Unpack your bags this instant, or your dead!"

"I'd rather die than do that," I replied solemnly, already resigned to such an unfortunate fa

"Then die," my father whispered, just before he attacked.

To say my father's sudden assault was a surprise would be a lie, I had already vaguely foreseen this outcome, but I guess, for some reason, I still believed that he would not commit such an act in the end. This had been a hopeless wish of mine that had no chance of coming true, yet I still thought it. Even now, the sadness that fills me from this act of his, is unbearably heavy.

His hands close in around my throat, almost as if in slow motion, and I was throw back from the force of his momentum and slammed against the wall behind me, stunning me. My vision blurred for a second, and as I focused in on what was happening again, I could feel my father squeeze my neck with all his strength, cutting off any accesses of oxygen past my airway, and I could only helplessly try my best to resist.

A fruitless attempt really.

I clawed viciously at my fathers hands, my nails ripping apart skin and drawing blood as I tried to pry them off me, but his hold was ridiculously unbreakable. His hands were locked tightly around my neck in an iron grip, and it seemed like nothing would be able to get them off me. I already knew my father was a strong man, as he frequently visited the gym, but this strength of his was unbelievable. I felt like a kitten in the face of a mighty lion. Helpless. Weak.

My heart beat faster and harder within my chest as the seconds passed and I grew more feeble from lack of oxygen. I began to struggle fiercely. I kicked and pushed against my father, but it all seemed pointless, as he didn't budge an inch. My panic only grew worse, and I could almost hear myself dying as my body worked hard to pump out the needed oxygen to keep me alive, but I was running out of it, and fast.

My life seemed to flash before my eyes then, and all I could feel was regret and sorrow, and all I could see was Nathan. He seemed to take up my whole vision, all the emotions and sides of Nathan that I've come to love flickered through my mind. From his anger, to his sadness, to his joy, all the accompanying expressions were clear as day. But there was one that stood out the most. The smile on his face when he is the happiest, is the best sight to see, as it was so bright and loving that it caused me to grow emotional. It shinned the most out of all the memories I have of him.

Tears pooled beneath my eyes as I deeply ached to live. I did not want to leave this world, to leave Nathan, but at the same time, I realized that I deserved this. As I look back on my life, I wondered what good did I do for anyone? I've only ever caused pain and misery for those around me, and most of all to my beloved. From the beginning I've only ever caused him pain, even now I bring him trouble, and when I'm gone, I'm sure the grief of my death will cause him to be sad, but life will be better for him after I'm out the picture.

I couldn't help but think this, and think back to what my father had said just minutes earlier. He was right, as much as I hated to admit it.

I really am more trouble than I'm worth...

A loud shout helped me regain some of my senses, and through my tunneling vision I saw my mom appear by my room door, her expression one of horror.

My mom yelled something at my father, which sounded vaguely like, "Get your hands off my son!," and charged towards him; however, all this seemed like it was happening somewhere far away as all my senses started to dull and my body began the process of shutting down. I could feel myself slowly falling towards unconsciousness as the seconds ticked by. My vision darkened at the edges and my ears defended to any noise. I was gradually losing all my strength, weakening until I could do nothing more but grip feebly at my father's hands as they continued to choke the life out of me.

Dimly I could hear my mothers screams in the background, and nearly could I see her petit figure pounding her tiny fists onto my father, tears streaming down her face, then pulling on him in an attempt to get him off me, but even I could tell that it was no use.

My hands slipped away from my fathers as darkness finally closed in around me, and the last thing I remember in those last moments was the sound of my name being called and a crash, and then nothing.
