So as the suspence builds the pot of confusion brews!

Enjoy!

Benjamin's P.O.V

I stirred. Everything hurt and I was sitting extremely uncomfortably. I opened my eyes, everything was hazy from smoke. There was glass all around me and the windscreen was completely smashed open. The hood of Garret's car was shoved up from the front of the car being smashed in. I gulped and realised I was now lodged in the front seat on top of the gear stick. The stick was digging into my ribs. I groaned and looked over at Garret who was laying forward with his head on the steering wheel. Blood was trickling down his forehead and out of his ear. I grabbed at his neck to feel a pulse, it was still strong. I didn't want to touch him more in case anything was broken. I tried to move off the gear stick so I could find Zain in the back.

“AHHH!” I cried out as pain shot through my left leg and up though my left side. Tears fell down my cheeks as I clutched it desperately. I tried to look into the back, I could see Zain's shoulder, he was crumpled against the back of Garret's seat.

“Zain?” I coughed on the smoke. I could hear something trickling, like fuel escaping, and realised the car could catch on fire and explode at any moment. But I couldn't move, and Garret and Zain were still out. I spotted my phone by my ankle on the shot gun seat and reached around myself for it. I had signal, that was good. I dialled 000.

“Hello District Ambulance Service,” said a lady calmly.

“Hi, there's been an accident. I don't know what happened. I can't move, my friends are knocked out. I don't know if Zain's alive or not,” I croaked into the phone.

“Okay where about are you?” the lady asked, I heard things clicking away.

“Near the public high school,” I said, I couldn't think of anywhere else.

“An ambulance is on the way. Stay on the phone. Tell me what you see,” the lady tried to reassure me and keep my calm.

“There's a lot of smoke, I can hear the fuel leaking, the car's going to explode,” I groan, trying to get her to see how desperate the situation is. Before she could say anything else I dropped the phone as an electric shock surged through my body, awakening the pain from my leg and making me scream.

Why was there electricity?

“You were warned Benjamin Warner,” came a voice beside me. I looked over to see one of the thug's from before peering through the driver's window over Garret.

“You! You did this? YOU BASTARDS I'M GOING TO FUCKING KILL YOU!” I shouted at them, rage bubbling inside me. They hurt Zain, they hurt my baby. “MOTHER FUCKERS!”

The thug reached in through the window and shocked me with a hand held taser. I burst into a fit of electrical pain as my vision turned to white, then darkness elapsed over me and I went into an aching sleep.

Zain's P.O.V

I heard screaming, but still I couldn't force myself to open my eyes and move to help. I was completely immobilised shoved into the back of Garret's seat. I didn't feel any pain, which only made me more worried. Had my spinal chord been broken and now I was paralysed? That was the only explanation to my situation. I began to sob at the thought of never walking again, never riding my motorbike, never being able to jump on Ben and kiss the crap out of him.

“Are you awake son?” came a voice beside me. I opened my eyes and light flooded in. I glanced sideways, unable to turn my neck, and saw a paramedic standing in the door of the car. He nodded to me.

“Are you in any pain?” the man asked me calmly. I shook my head, and after a second of realising I'd actually just moved, pain erupted in my veins and I screamed.

Garret's P.O.V

I woke up and the first thing I saw was the open blue sky. Blue sky? Weird. I glanced around and saw I was lying on a stretcher behind an ambulance. Two paramedics were beside me, one was playing with my arm. The other one noticed me awake and smiled.

“You're okay honey, you're safe now,” she soothed me. I nodded and then frowned. I could only hear her out of one ear. I pulled my hand up to the side of my face and my eyes went wide, my left ear was covered in a huge bandage. I and glanced over and saw my car. My car was head on with a telephone pole, the entire front of it wiped out and shoved up into the windshield.

“OH MY GOD WHAT HAPPENED?” I shouted, trying to sit up. But restraints were holding me back. The lady paramedic put her hand on my forehead and it was cold.

“It's okay honey, your friend is safe,” the lady soothed. I looked over and saw Zain being taken to another ambulance on a stretcher. He was awake and looking around. Phew, he was alive and okay. That was good. Wait, friend? Friend? What about friends? Oh no, don't tell me Benjamin was dead. Oh no please don't let Benjamin be dead.

“Where's Benjamin?” I asked, panicking.

“His heart beat is rising,” the male paramedic working on my arm said.

“Shh, Benjamin is fine, he's over there being taken care of,” the lady cooed at me.

“No you idiot, that's Zain. Where is Benjamin?” I shouted at her. The two paramedics exchanged looks.

“There were only two of you in the car when we arrived sweaty,” the lady hushed me, but was frowning.

“NO THERE BLOODY WELL WASN'T. I WAS GIVING BENJAMIN AND ZAIN BOTH A LIFT TO SCHOOL. WHERE IS BENJAMIN?” I shouted at her. The lady gulped and grabbed her radio, walking over to the others.

Benjamin's P.O.V

I rolled over and groaned. I wasn't in pain anymore, that was good. I wasn't a fan of pain. Then I remembered the crash, seeing Garret and Zain like that, the thug and the taser. I opened my eyes and sat up, the pain returned and I hissed through clenched teeth. I was sitting on a floor, but the floor was completely black and stretched on for as far as I could see. The sky was black too. There were no doors, no walls, no roofs and no windows. It looked completely eerie and stereotypical.

“For the crimes committed against the organisation,” came that familiar thug voice. I looked around to see thugs materialise through the darkness and stand in the circled around me. There were a lot more than just what was in the car before. Standing apart from the rest was a tall man and flanking him was a short man. The short man was talking. “And refusing to act upon warnings presented, Benjamin Andy Warner, has been sentenced to death.”

“Hang on wait, what did I even do?” I protested as the thugs advanced, they pulled weapons like clubs and mallets out of nowhere and raised them high over me.

“No wait, wait!” I cried. The first guy reached me and swung.

I didn't even get to say goodbye to Zain. I promised him i'd never leave him.
