Xavier's POV

I stepped from foot to foot, sheepishly, i had been thinking the same thing all this time but just wasn't 100% sure about it. I guess i just needed someone to tell me, a second opinion. This was a important subject, i couldn't make the wrong decision now, it was the absolute turning point.

"It was obvious, wasn't it...there's no way around it" I told him, shaking my head slightly concluding the discussion with a nervous chuckle.

"Yeah pretty much, come on let's get to school" he replied, getting up and off the bed. He held out his hand I put mine in his before following close behind him. I picked up my bag and various other necessities before closing the front door and getting into the car with him.

In a few minutes we had reached our school, putting on a weak nervous smile I stepped out of the car. I quickly scanned the place somewhat sneakily before relaxing when I didn't see Aiden or Sophie for that matter. I was seriously psyching myself out of this every second i thought about it.

Then I walked over to my locker, putting my bag inside before slamming it shut. I turned around and leaned my body against the metal door. Closing my eyes briefly to calm my nerves, next class I will surely see Sophie, I had to give her a proper explanation for my sudden actions. Just hours ago, before our break up; I didn't really show any obvious signs so it must have been pretty surprising on her part. It was settled I had to do it. I blinked my eyes opened and suddenly i back around, facing my locker.

I was surprised to see both Sophie and Aiden walking down the hallway together. Since when were they friends? I thought, turning back to my locker to hide myself still shocked by the sight. After the first bell went, I swiftly moved in with the crowds and got to class early. I sat down in my seat and placed my head on the desk whilst I waited for the rest of my classmates to arrive.

I was awoken from my half sleeping mode when I felt a light tapping on my shoulder. I let out a small breath of relief when I realised it was just Zac. I gave him a tiny smile still a little tired from my lack of sleep last night. My smile crumbled a little when I saw who had just entered the room, I was worried about her and I was stuck on how to explain myself without hurting her any more than I already have.

I was planning on talking to her in this class, but the teacher wouldn't stop talking and she wasn't sitting next to me. She was on the opposite side of the room with her girlfriends, I didn't exactly expect her to sit next to me but she could have at least acknowledged me somehow. I guess this may be how it's going to be from now on but I'm sure we can still remain friends after some time. I didn't have any other classes with her today so I decided to talk to her at lunch.

I pulled out a sheet of paper and folded it in half. I had to tell her I wanted to talk to her some way. I wrote her name on top before scribbling out a short message. I folded it again before passing it to Zac and it was passed on to a few more people it reached Sophie. When she saw her name I watched her from a distance, to see her reaction. She read the inside and looked across at me, I gave her a small smile. I didn't sign my name so she was kinda intuitive to figure it out. She smiled back, her smile not reaching her eyes. She was really was hurt, I could tell.

When class finished, I rushed out without waiting for Zac. I half listened half slept through the rest of my classes. Lunch time finally rolled around after about half the day had passed. I walked outside the building to see Sophie waiting alone at the tree. I went quickly over to her, almost instinctively hugged her and kissed her. But luckily, I stopped myself at the last minute, I paused short of her, leaving a good metre between us. It was pretty awkward, we were never like this. After a second of thought I took a step closer and sat down on the stump. She sat on the grass leaning against the tree and looked up at me expectantly.

"I'm sorry about yesterday, I didn't give you any reasons" I rushed out, a blush forming on my cheeks. She just kept looking at me, urging me to continue.

I took a breath, "Well you see...I don't know how to tell you this...but I'm...gay" I blurted out, muttering the last word quickly.

"Oh" she said quietly, "I guess if that's why you broke up with me, it's ok" she said slowly smiling at me.

I gave her a quick hug and whispered through her hair, "Thanks for understanding"

"Who did you fall for?" she asked curiously filling her voice, "Is it Aiden, Alex or Zac maybe?"

"How did you guess?" I asked, she got it in one go, she was always a smart one. I smiled shyly, a blush threatening to light up my face, "It's Aiden"

"Oh, I thought so" she said as I noticed a hurt look pass through her eyes, "I was crying yesterday and he helped me" she told me. Oh that explains why they were together this morning.

I bit my lip, guilt taking up all my emotions, "I feel so bad to tell you this but there's more, I kissed him once on new year's and recently at his house" I blurted out, shame appearing on my face. I cheated on her, even though they both meant nothing and were just spur of the moment and accidents to me. Well it meant nothing at that point in time, but now on the other hand...

"I already know about them, Sienna told me...it's ok you know I don't mind that you're gay" she said in an understanding tone. I felt myself relax at her words, I was so scared to talk to her but I should have known she wouldn't judge me. She wasn't like that, a perfect girl that deserved someone just as amazing as she was.

Why didn't Sienna tell me, it would have saved a some of my stress. I've got catch up with her later.

"Thanks for everything Sophie and I'm sorry that I hurt you, I didn't mean to" I told her truthfully, my eyes sparkling a little at the unshed tears. I felt pretty emotional at the moment, letting someone go like that was hard and not to mention she's my first love.

"I get it, I expected something was going on with Aiden and I was jealous you know...but not until I suspected you felt the same that I started to accept the fact that you could have the same feelings for him" she said, blushing slightly at her long speech.

I brought her in for her hug and kissed her on her cheek. I stood up and she stuck out her hand for me to take. I took it and picked her up, I pulled her to my side and tickled her sides. Until she burst out laughing, I gave her a real smile and quickly hugged her. "See you later, Sophie" I told her and walked away from her.

I saw a shadow disappear around the corner, wary about the feeling I was getting about the situation. I followed the person until I reached a dead end. I stopped a few metres behind the person, when I finally realised who it was. I moved a little closer and turned him around. He snapped his body back around when I tried to get him to look at me. Aiden...why was he like this. "Hey...what's wrong?" I asked, stepping in front of him. He hesitated before turning around, still keeping his head down and walked out of the alleyway. I followed closely behind him, worry etched on my face, what happened to him, between now and this morning?

"Nothing is wrong..." he told me in a small voice.

"Something is, just tell me Aiden, I can help" I told him with all seriousness.

"It's just...did you get back with S...her" he mumbled out, seeming ready to bolt out of this conversation any second.

My mouth dropped a little in surprise, why would he think that. Except that...I was just talking to Sophie, oh. Suddenly realising what it may have looked like, I stepped closer bringing him in for a tight hug. I had to stop him from leaving until I at least had the chance to explain. I placed my hand under his chin, encouraging him to look up at me. "I promise you Aiden, I was just talking to her, I don't like her in a romantic way anymore but instead I think I may have fallen for you" I admitted with a blush appearing on my face.

He looked at me with widened eyes, before grinning a little. I let go of him and stepped back a step giving him some room. "I have already fallen for you Xavier" he confessed, locking his eyes with mine.

I smirked at him and he smiled back at me cheekily. I moved back, closer to him and pulled him in for a warm hearted hug. He positioned his head on the crook of my neck and tightened his hold on me.

"Aiden, can I kiss you?" I asked shy of what his response may be. I squeezed my eyes shut, scared he may reject me. He stroked my cheek soothlingly before rushing out of my hold and into the courtyard. I stared after him stunned, he didn't even give me a reply.

"No way" he said teasingly and ran out, beckoning me with his finger to chase after him. When I got somewhat close enough, he whispered loudly to me, "Only if you can catch me".

At that, I raced after him, failing to catch up to him, as he dodged my arms reaching for him swiftly. He suddenly disappeared from my view and I ran faster to see where he went. When I almost tripped over him as I realised he had decided to lie on the grass. I gave him a raised eyebrow look at him, "I caught you" I said proudly.

"I let you" he said smirking up at me. I leaned down and tried to kiss him on the lips, but he moved his face at the last second, resulting in me catching his cheek instead.

I growled at him annoyed, "Just one quick kiss, to last me through the day" I said almost begging him.

He touched his finger to his chin, fake contemplating his choice. I pouted at him, giving him a puppy dog eyed look. He faltered a little and nodded. Cheerfully I moved closer to him and brought his lips to mine. Almost fainting when our lips finally touched, but it was over too soon when the bell rang splitting us apart.

"Until next time, sweetheart" I smirked happy about the kiss. I moved off him and got to class just in time. I leaned back on my chair almost touching the desk behind me and smiled up at the sky.

I was so happy this had worked out, this was a risk I was definitely willing to take.
