Chapter One

New Year's Eve 2012

I never thought that tonight, the last day of the year would be a life changing day for me. A day that would change how I thought the new year would be like.

Tonight my older sister Sienna was throwing a New Year's Eve/ birthday party. She invited lots of her friends and I invited my two best friends Alex and Amelia.

Together, the three of them are the 3A's. Well no one knows them by that name but it just sounds cool. But what they are, are an inseparable group of friends that go to high school together.

The party was going to start soon so I climbed up the stairs to my bedroom to get changed. I chose to wear a nice pair of dark blue jeans and a white long sleeved shirt. Looking at the mirror, I smiled checking my reflection and outfit out. I quickly ran a comb through my hair, trying to style it to resemble somewhat of a messy look. Nodding to myself, I exited and strode downstairs to see if there was anything I could do to help with the party.

Just as I reached the bottom of the flight of stairs, the doorbell rang, slightly startling me. Sliding towards the door on the newly cleaned floorboards, I turned the key to unlock the wooden door. I swung it open to reveal a boy, that I didn't recognise.

Checking out the boy at the door, I slowly trailed my eyes down then up his toned body, completely taking my breath away. Then reaching his face, admiring his red pouty lips, strong jawline, tousled hair and intense looking eyes.

They then locked eyes and I became frozen. It was like his eyes were holding me there, unable to speak and move.

Just to clarify I was in fact gay and this boy was totally my type, if I had a type.

The boy coughed and I blushed breaking out of the trance, stepping away from the doorway to let him pass. I had no idea how long I was staring at him for. He coughed loudly clearing his throat.

"Sorry, come in" I said politely, avoiding his eyes whilst trying to regain my composure. Trying not to completely ruin his first impression of me.

"Thanks" he replied as he walked straight passed me, probably to find Sienna. The party had yet to start for a while, he was one of the first arrivals. He must be here to help Sienna set up before the majority of the guests arrive.

I sighed, he is one hot guy. Following him inside, I went to find my own friends that were already here to keep me company. Walking around the corner I spied one of my best friends, Amelia.

Wrapping my arms around her, slightly scaring her then hugging her close when she mumbled how annoying I was.

"You always do that, can't you just greet me like a normal person" she asked turning around, releasing herself from my arms. She was smiling but also rolled her eyes at me.

"Where's the fun in that?" I replied, shrugging then reaching my arms out to her sides to tickle her.

"Oh my god, stop...AIDEN!" she shouted, running away from me laughing. I caught up with her and then told her I wanted to find Alex.

I found him talking to a pretty good looking guy. I thought about what it would be like if Alex were also into guys. But he is unfortunately or fortunately straight and has the hugest crush on Amelia. It was so obvious to everyone besides them, it seemed like they would keep denying it until the day they die. The amount of stubbornness between them, means they will never accept it as a thing until someone else intervenes.

Alex and Amelia both don't know about my sexual orientation. Well I can't be too sure though because they are pretty perceptive people and my best friends after all. I think I should come out to them soon, but I'm not sure how they would react to the new information, I can't begin to think what it would be like without them, they have been a big part of my life. I don't want to risk losing them.

"Hey guys!" I called out as I neared them.

They turned and smiled "Hey Aiden". Although I was curious how the stranger also knew my name. Maybe Alex had talked about me? He approached them and stood with them, dragging Amelia with me.

"Hi Amelia" Alex greeted with a small smile. The stranger also said a quick hello.

Then the awkwardness started, no one was talking, maybe I shouldn't have come over.

I coughed and awkwardly asked "So who are you?" glancing pointedly at the mystery guy. He wasn't the guy from before but they looked around the same age, so maybe he knew him.

He laughed lightly "Forgot to introduce myself, I'm Zac" he beamed brightly. He seemed like someone I would get along with.

"Nice, I'm Aiden as you already know and this is my friend Amelia"

"Hey! I just noticed that all your names start with A" he chuckled.

"Yeah we know, it sort of just turned out that way" I shrugged and chuckled along with him.

"By the way, have you seen a guy about your age, blue green eyes, about 1.80m tall, toned body, sexy disheveled hair, kissable lips..." I sighed imagining the boy from before with probably a dreamy look in my eyes. I knew that I would be thinking about him all night at the very least.

I brought his hand to his mouth, did I just say all that out loud. My eyes widened and I looked at my friends. However, it seems like they didn't hear any of that. I had to be more careful, I could have just came out to them and Zacm a guy I didn't know at all. I cried softly in relief, the music had gotten much louder so that's why they probably didn't hear what I said.

The real party was starting now. I dragged Alex to dance with me with a smirk filling his face. He looked slightly uncomfortable but I just ignored it. As the song turned into a more upbeat one he looked much more relaxed. He loosened up a bit more and started dancing hilariously flailing his arms everywhere. I glanced over at Amelia and Zac, they were dancing as well, everyone was having fun. It could be ten times better if that cute guy from before was around.

Where was my prince charming? I sighed and scanned the room. My eyes flitted pass lots of people but I couldn't see him, he wasn't here.

I walked over to get a drink and bumped into someone, I glanced up and sighed, a girl. I turned away without apologising, I wasn't in the mood to be polite.

"Hey Aiden!" the voice was very familiar, I turned around and my mouth dropped open in shock.

"Sienna, what the hell are you wearing?!" I scolded looking at her outfit.

She looked down at her clothes, "What's wrong with it?" she asked fake confused.

I rolled my eyes, " Are you kidding me? For one that dress is too short, your heels are too high and you have too much makeup on!" I shouted at her. She can wear what she likes but I was a little overprotective and I didn't want anything to happen to her.

"Don't worry bro, no one is going to come onto me" she sarcastically replied.

I sighed, "Please change into something else"

She huffed in annoyance, rolling her eyes but she was also smiling lightly. She knows that I cares about her, they are siblings after all.

"Fine, my feet are killing me anyway" she walked off into her bedroom, taking off her heels halfway and rubbing her feet, I chuckled and turned towards the dance floor.

I sighed once again in relief, I felt like I had to protect her even though she is older than me, who knows what could have happened, she looked... well not 18. She is already beautiful, she doesn't need all that to look good. But it is her birthday so she should get to dress up a bit. I was a little harsh, I'll make it up to her.

She can take care of herself, she can make her own decisions I concluded.

I was lost in my thoughts when someone tapped my shoulder I turned around my eyes lighting up, then fading, it wasn't him. I turned back, sitting down in a nearby couch.

"Who were you expecting?" Alex asked.

"No one, just no one" How could I feel like this already, I can't begin to imagine what it would be like if I fall in love with him. He is just going to hurt me, he is straight, I repeated to himself over and over, attempting and failing to psych himself out of this stupid crush.

His amazing looks just adds to the effect he has on me and I bets he has this deep sexy voice, I stared into the distance dreamily thinking about him. My mind was going to go downhill at this rate.

Distracting myself I turned towards my best friend who had sat down next to me, "Going to kiss Amelia for the New year's kiss?" I asked teasingly poking him in the shoulder.

"No! Why would you even say that, she is ONLY a friend" he said defensively. He clearly likes her.

"Sure sure, very believable" I replied staring at him straight in the eyes.

He looked away, with a slight blush on his cheeks, smiling secretly. It's just too bad Amelia doesn't know how he feels. I would tell her, but it was between them and I didn't want to meddle. I didn't want to get in the middle of it, they can work it out themselves I knows it.

"You should just kiss her, this is your one and only chance to" I said pointing out the fact that it was in fact New Year's Eve and a lot of kissing tended to happen when the clock struck 12.

"There is next year" he said with a smug smile.

"She could be in a relationship by then, you know how amazing she is"

"I know, but I don't want to ruin the friendship, I'll wait a little bit longer"

"You can't keep scaring guys away from her, she is going to notice!"

"I know, I can handle it"

The crowd suddenly became louder as the clock struck 11, it was getting very close to the new year.

I couldn't wait.

I left Alex as Amelia came towards him and winked before disappearing into the mass of people.

I never knew my sister had so many friends, half of them were probably gate crashers to be honest. Definitely don't look his sisters age, the lot of them.

I walked around the whole house inconspicuously, even though it was my house I didn't want to bring attention to myself and have people ask questions I didn't have time for.

Time was almost up, it was so close to 2013, the countdown was about to begin.

I couldn't find him even though I have been searching pretty much the whole night. It was like he just vanished into thin air, I was sure he wouldn't have left already, it was still early in my books.

I went back onto the dance floor and glanced at the TV. The news was broadcasting that there were 10 minutes left.

I glanced around trying to look for someone that I could potentially kiss at midnight, that's when I spotted him. I took in a deep breath and walked over to him purposefully. I stood there nervously and timidly tapped him on the shoulder. I wasn't usually nervous about these sort of things but it felt different with him.

He turned around smiling, my heart quickened. His eyes were boring into mine, I almost forgot why I had come over.

The boy touched my arm and I melted, I could feel tingles all through my body, the powerful feeling caused me to lose my balance, basically falling into his arms.

I...wait I still didn't know his name, "What's your name?" I asked slightly embarrassed as I got off of him. He seemed pretty composed for a guy that had another guy fall onto him.

"It's Xavier" his voice it was angelic, heaven like.

I grinned, confidence seeping into me, as the countdown began in the crowd around me.

10...they locked eyes.

9...I stepped closer making the space between them disappear,

8...Xavier's eyes held confusion, our eyes staying in contact,

7...I put my arms gently around Xavier's neck,

6...His eyes detained realisation as his mouth slightly gapped at the thought,

5... I pressed my body against his closing the little distance they had,

4...Xavier put his arms around my waist and smiled,

3... Returning it and making my heartbeat quicken,

2...I stared at his lips and bit my lip nervously,

1... and then Xavier closed the gap between them.

Boom! Poof! That's when the fireworks began, literally and the rooms' atmosphere changed as couples kissed and shouts and yells of Happy New Year started.

As 2013 came.

So i guess the story relates to today, since it is New Years Eve :) HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE may 2013 be just as good as this year was. 

Be patient for the next chapter, I'll get it out soon, maybe after my birthday which is on the 5th btw.
