Everyone gathered at the carpark, waiting for manager hyung to fetch them for dinner. Finally, during practising diligently for another few hours after lunch, they're going to have dinner at a restaurant.
A black van parked nicely in front of the seven guys. As usual, Rap Mon got the front seat beside the driver, while the others went to the back.
Meanwhile, Jungkook was standing there playing his Piano Tiles intently. He was so close to breaking his high score, and even ignored his hyungs' call, asking him to get up the car.
Finally pressing the pause button, Jungkook looked up to see that everybody had already got up the van. He hopped up too, only to find one empty seat in the middle row.
In a normal situation, he would have just sat there, the guys don't have a specific formation in the car anyway. But somehow, something just made him froze there.
He saw how the other hyungs were occupying the last row, how Rap Mon was at the passenger seat as usual, and...how the Yoonmin couple were taking up the middle row. He stared at the empty seat, oh shit, is he gonna sit beside Jimin?
"Wae yo?" manager hyung asked as he extended his head to the back.
Instantly, everyone looked at the maknae, including Jimin who was initially talking to his boyfriend. Jimin's expression changed too, Yoongi's too - only the three of them know how awkward the situation is.
Jungkook immediately turn his head towards Taehyung, the only hyung that understands his situation, the only hyung he can rely on. Because only with Taehyung, Jungkook felt like a really dongsaeng and he can trust his hyung to protect him no matter what.
But this time round, no, Jungkook can't wait for his hyung to 'save him'. He made a quick eye contact with Taehyung and shook his head lightly.
Jungkook knew Taehyung wanted to do something, but no, the golden maknae wants to handle this by his own.
"A-aniyo, nothing's wrong," Jungkook answered manager hyung as he sat down slowly beside Jimin.
Naturally, Jimin shifted his body closer towards Yoongi, he thought this will give the maknae more space, but the maknae saw it in another light.
Jungkook noticed the small gap in between them, the gap Jimin created when he sat down. Jungkook also purposely leaned more to the window, not bothering about whether is it obvious that he was trying to avoid his hyung.
"Ha..." Jimin yawned as he quickly covered his mouth.
"You tired?" his boyfriend immediately asked.
"Ne, a little," he nodded his head.
Smiling a little, Suga guided his boyfriend's head onto his shoulders and ruffled his hair. Jimin obediently followed and saw how Suga quickly turn into his poker face and look out of the window, pretending that he don't care when they made eye contact.
Jimin giggled at the sweet gesture, ignoring the weird stare Namjoon was sending them from the front.
On the other side of the van, there was Jungkook, who had his headphones on and looking outside the window. He felt a movement beside him, and naturally turned to his left.
His expression changed immediately. He saw how Jimin was leaning his head comfortably on his boyfriend's shoulder and how Suga was playing with the younger's hair. Both had bright smiles on their faces, yea, such a lovely scene.
Jungkook immediately pull his head away, letting out a sigh unknowingly.
However, Jimin caught that sigh. He was planning to take a short nap with his comfy pillow when he heard a sigh from the maknae. He turned around and saw how Jungkook has a frown on his face.
"Is it because of me?" he asked himself, "Dumb ass, isn't it obvious? Who in the world can make Kookie so depressed except you?"
Overwhelmed by a sense of guilt, Jimin slowly push himself up from his boyfriend. "I'm too hungry to sleep," Jimin explained.
Arriving at a Chinese restaurant, the seven guys entered quietly, trying hard not to attract attention. Getting a table at a corner, they took a seat each. It was a long table with eight chairs.
Jungkook cleverly avoided the couple and went to the other side of the table, he thought not sitting beside them can save him from all those lovely dovey scene.
He was the first to sit down, and even better, Taehyung was sitting beside him! He smiled at his hyung who immediately pat his head like a little kid.
Jungkook opened his eyes wide as he remembered how he paused his game halfway and was in the midst of breaking his high score. In the speed of light, he took out his phone and began to tap furiously on the screen.
Finally, food is here and just in the nick of time, he ended his game with three crowns on the screen. Showing a satisfied smile, Jungkook took his chopsticks and began to grab every type of dishes onto his place.
"Omo!! Is that lamb skewer?!?" Jungkook shouted as he saw that dish across the table.
Jin nodded as he answered, "Ne, it's for you and Suga. We ordered it specially for you two!"
"Hallelujah," the maknae cheered as he reached out to grab one piece.
However, another pair of chopsticks also landed on his attractive piece of meat. He looked up to see his opponent, luckily or not, it was Jimin.
The sight of his hyung made him retreat his hands and took a few seconds of buffering time.
"Aniyo Kookie, you can have it..." Jimin said.
"Err...gwenchana," he stuttered, "I...I...I'm fine."
Okay, the weird conservation attracted some stares from the members. Yoongi was one of them and Jimin noticed that too, and quickly nod his head before taking that lamb skewer and place it on Yoongi's plate.
"For you hyung," Jimin whispered. He tried to make it less obvious, knowing that Jungkook would definitely be jealous if he sees it.
Jungkook's eyes followed the path of the meat, from the main plate, to Yoongi's bowl. His eyes continued to stay on the piece of meat and finally did he noticed how the couple was actually sitting directly in front of him, with Jimin directly opposite him.
"So the meat was for Yoongi hyung?" he uttered under his breath.
Jungkook stick his chopsticks into his bowl of rice and frowned. Yes, he was angry, but never would he admit he is actually jealous too. 'Fighting' for a lamb skewer with Jungkook just for his boyfriend, Jimin just made the worst mistake in his life.
Jimin felt that ominous atmosphere too. He took a peek at Jungkook, who was sulking and was only stuffing plain rice into his mouth. "He's angry..." he said to himself, "what should I do?"
Trying to salvage the situation, Jimin reached his chopsticks out one more time, aiming directly on the plate of lamb skewers. However, before he pick it up, he was stopped by someone, again.
He immediately look up, to see Taehyung smiling cheekily at him. Both of their chopsticks grabbed hold onto the meat tightly and firmly, both of them refusing to let go.
They exchange glances, with Taehyung uttering under his breath, "This fight is for Jungkook."
Somehow, Jimin caught that statement and whispered back, "I'm not gonna back down."
"Go back to your boyfriend Jimin."
"I can care for the maknae too."
"Not when you just dump him few days ago."
Jimin paused there, and recalled the episode in the taxi. Indeed, he was the one who dumped Jungkook, and now, he doesn't deserve to win Jungkook back. Pulling his hand back, he witnessed how Taehyung gave a victory smirk before placing the lamb skewer on Jungkook's plate.
"For you," Taehyung said sweetly, earning him a smile from the maknae.
A sour sensation immediately took over Jimin. "When did they even become this close?" he rolled his eyes, "but wait, maybe, I really shouldn't even pick that meat for Jungkook. Yoongi hyung will be suspicious for sure...ne, maybe...we should really keep a distance."
Thanks to Taehyung, Jungkook's mood became a little better. He love how his hyung always manage to read his feelings and then secretly whispering, "You look ugly when you're upset." Without fail, Jungkook's mood would become brightened after hearing that.
After finishing one bowl of rice, Jungkook stood up and took another one from the end of the table. At this moment, when he was about to sit down, he accidentally kicked onto someone.
He quickly lift his head up, to see Jimin's body jumping up a little. Their eyes met, and this time round, Jungkook did not turn away like he always do.
"Oh shit, did I accidentally kick Jimin hyung?"
The two looked at each other for a while, as a piece of memory flew into their mind. It was a kicking game they used to play, when they were still together. Every meal time, Jungkook would always try to side either beside or opposite his hyung. And when everyone is engross in munching their food, Jungkook would purposely kick his hyung lightly.
Seeking his attention you might say, and the irritated look on Jimin's face never fail to send snickers to the maknae, followed by another kick from the older one.
If they're sitting beside each other, Jimin will always rest one of his hands on the younger's thigh. And if they're sitting opposite each other, Jungkook would be the one resting his foot on his hyung's knees. They loved, or probably even obsessed, with such small secret gestures.
But now...it's all in the past...
