It was a Friday probably one of the coldest days this whole winter.

A week had past since the masquerade party but Eric hadn't come to school.

What was up with him? I missed his pointless chatter and warm smiles.

I walked down the hall and made sure no one was following me, I had become the new obsession at school.

I'm not even joking someone had started an Abel fan club, people were always taking pictures of me.

I walked into the always empty classroom, the door clicked lock behind me.

His mouth crashed on mine as he longingly ran his hands under my shirt.

His hands were freezing but I've been through worse, at least his mouth was warm.

I pressed my crotch against his, he was really turned on and oh my gosh it was impressive.

He slid his hand in my pants, I pushed him back, "Tim stop" I said softly, he growled against my mouth.

"Why?" he asked me, my heart was racing, I really wanted him too but I'm not that easy.

"I want more of a commitment before we go any further" I said softly, he tilted his head back thinking.

"How about dinner at my place tonight, you can meet my parents?" he asked me, my eyes widened.

"Are you sure?" I asked, was he joking, I'm pretty sure he's joking.

"I'm serious Abel, I like you, so they're going to have to like you, better to rip the bandaid off" he said with a smile.

I grabbed his face and kissed him, he laughed against my mouth, I took a step back, I had the biggest smile on my face.

"I'll pick you up at six" he said after me as I quickly walked back to class, I turned and gave him a thumbs up.

He smiled, I could smell that he was nervous, but that was inevitable, but still.

Wait that means I have to meet his parents, nerves started to over take me as well.

What if they don't like me? what if they disown Tim? what if I kill them accidentally?

Thoughts raced through my mind all day, I know where I was going right after school, ten points for you if you can guess where.

Eric's car was parked in the exact same spot, I walked in his house it was starting to get dusty.

My note was still on the table, he was no where to be found, "where are you Eric" I said to his voicemail after my second unanswered call.

I did a lap around his property, I didn't even get one wiff of him, it's starting to worry me.

I left another note on his kitchen table and then left, I had to get an outfit for tonight.

I got a cute white dress shirt and nice black jeans, and a gold tie, it was unnecessary but I liked it.

I glamoured him, I was really good at it, I think because my looks captivated people.

I went in the cafe to see mom, we barely saw each other anymore so it'd be nice to catch up.

I walked in to see my mom eating cake with Simon, they were laughing, how is he gonna ignore me but hang with my mom.

Cake was my mom and I's thing, I walked up and sat down, I had to fight my vampire.

"Oh hi sweetie" my mom said with a warm smile, I pulled up a chair and kissed her on the cheek.

"What are you guys talking about?"i asked curiously as I took my moms cake.

"Do you want to tell him?" my mom said to Simon, I didn't like the sound of that.

"Well you see Abe, your moms met someone" Simon said smiling at her, I gagged.

"Oh no, oh god, I'm gonna throw up, really mom my best friend" I said gagging as I jumped away from the table.

They looked at each other and started laughing, how was this funny!?

"No Abel! Simon is like a son to me, his name is Robert and he's a business man" my mom said with a blush.

Relief coursed through my body, I was about to kill Simon, but seeing my mom blush melted my heart.

"I'm so happy for you mom" I said genuinely, she got up and kissed my forehead.

"I love you Abel" she said, I smiled at her, she kissed Simon on the forehead and then got her apron.

"Well I've got to get back to work" she said with a wink, I flashed my teeth at her and she smiled.

I looked awkwardly at Simon who looked awkwardly at me, "so" he said.

"So" I replied, I took another bite of my cake and looked around the room.

"We totally have to find out if this guy is good or not" Simon said quickly, my eyes lit up.

"Right!?" I said excitedly, we started laughing, we smiled at each other.

"So are we friends again?" he asked me, I nodded and smiled at him, he returned it with a cheesy one.

"Should we stalk him tonight?" he asked me with a wink, I smiled but it quickly faded.

"I can't I have plans tonight" I sighed let down, I really wanted to and a Simon and Abel night was long overdue.

"Oh really what are you doing tonight?" he asked me with raised eyebrows, I blushed.

"I'm going to Tim's for dinner and meeting his parents" I said holding up the bags.

"Abel I know you're going to be mad at me for saying this but I don't think that's a good idea" he said.

My eyes turned red with anger, "oh my gosh Simon I'm not doing this again" I said getting up.

He grabbed my wrist, "no Abel it's not that, it's about his dad" Simon said quickly.

This made my curiosity peak, "what about his dad?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Do you know what he does for work?" he asked me, I shook my head, I didn't even know his name.

"He's the number one genetics scientist, he asked me to intern for him after graduation" he said quickly.

"And you're scared I'm going to ruin that?" I said with anger, my fangs fought there way out.

"No, you're a vampire Abel, can you imagine what he'd do if he found out?" he said, it made me nervous to think about.

"And not just that, you're pretty damn perfect, and your eyes are unique what if he wants to do research on you?" he continued, it was true my eyes were one in a billion.

"I know I can't change your mind, I'm just telling you to be careful" he said softly.

"Thanks Simon I will" I said, he got up and hugged me, I hugged him back.

I agreed that he could sleep at my house tonight and I'd meet him and talk to him about everything.

We waited at home, Simon sat on the sofa and threw a ball off the wall and caught it and on and on as he watched tv.

"How do I look?" I asked him, his head turned and looked at me, his eye twitched.

"You look really good" he said as he looked me up and down, I smiled and he blushed and looked back at the tv.

The gold of my tie matched the good specs in my eyes, the door bell rang, but I had ran upstairs to look in my mirror.

"Hey man" Simon said awkwardly as he sat back down, yes I was using my senses to eavesdrop.

"Hey" Tim said softly, he sat down next to Simon and they watched tv together, I hope this goes well.

"So do you really think it's safe to bring Abel around your dad?" Simon said protectively.

"I think he might be a little more distracted that I brought a guy home for dinner" Tim snarled.

"You better pray everything goes well or I'll beat the shit out of you" Simon said nonchalantly.

"Oh please" Tim said defensively, Simon cleared his throat, and cracked his fingers.

"I mean it man, if Abel gets hurt physically or emotionally you're gonna pay for it" Simon said like an older brother defending his little sister.

I don't really think I needed protection though, I'm kind of really strong incase he didn't notice.

"Don't worry about my dad, worry about yourself" Tim whispered, my jaw dropped, I should really break this up soon.

I couldn't bring myself to it, this was so good, I pressed my ear against the door and grinned.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Simon said getting off the sofa, Tim laughed.

"I mean you did kill him" Tim said, I gasped quietly, that was Simons sensitive spot, he went a little low.

"You act like I'm the only one who did stuff, but you've been torturing him since middle school, I don't remember a day that Abel didn't have a bruise from you" Simon retorted.

Tim got off the sofa, this was getting ugly quick, I should really break it up soon.

"At least I'm not using him as a replacement brother, filling some hole or longing" Tim said with a laugh, that was too low

"But you're using him to fulfill some gay fantasy, you're such a hypocrite" Simon said.

I opened my door loudly, they both jumped, I walked down the stairs slowly to give them time to simmer down.

When I reached the bottom of the stairs they gave each other a final dirty look and then Simon went back to watching tv.

"Wow Abel you look great" Tim said in shock, I felt a blush rise to my cheeks, he wore a basic black and white suit.

"So do you" I said softly, he held my hand and opened the door for me, he flipped Simon off who returned it by mouthing fuck you.

They were so immature, I nervously sat in the car as we went to the same place that the masquerade party was held.

"Wait your moms the mayor?" I asked, they looked nothing alike, he laughed.

"No she's my step mom" he said smiling at me, I gulped as I got out of the car.

"What's wrong" he said pushing me against the car before we started walking up the long entrance.

"It's just I'm scared" I said honestly, he laughed at me, my eyes turned red, how was that funny.

"I'm sorry it's just that you're actually scared, the big bad Abel is scared of meeting my parents" he laughed.

"Shut up, is that such a bad thing?" I laughed nervously, he smiled and kissed my forehead.

"Not at all, it's actually quite normal, I'm a little shocked, I didn't think you were capable of normal" he said hugging me.

"It's cute" he added quickly sensing my anger at his joke, I liked Simon and my jokes better.

"Wait" I said quickly before we started walking, he looked at the door and back at me.

"What's wrong Abel, my parents hate when people are late" he said nervously, I could tell the nerves were now hitting him.

"It's just that, well it's your dad" I struggled to say, he looked into my eyes comfortingly.

"Everything will be fine, I promise" he said softly, I smiled and kissed his lips softly.

We walked in the house, they sat at the table and smiled at me as I sat down next to Tim.

The table was full of foods, the introductions were good and the small talk was awkward but surprisingly okay.

"So you're more handsome than my son described" the mayor said, she winked at Tim.

"Thank you but I'm nothing special compared to your beautiful family" I said politely.

Tim and Mayor Clara laughed, his dad put his hands together and leaned forwards, his face was warm but his eyes looked greedy.

"Abel Crosswell, you are very special" his dad said, he looked me up and down.

"Thank you but I'm not really" I blushed nervously, Tim coughed sarcastically.

"Yes you are, your eyes are very unique, and your skin is perfect, it looks like marble, and don't even get me started about your teeth and bone structure" he said professionally.

"Dad" Tim said quickly, his dad out his hand up and Tim reflexively shut his mouth, fear radiated off Tim.

"I would love to take some samples, it could help so much" his dad said prying my soul with his eyes.

I felt my palms starting to get sweaty, "George what did we talk about" mayor Clara said with authority, he looked at his wife coldly.

"Maybe for Christmas Doctor Carthens" I laughed, he smiled amused, I didn't think he was capable of emotion.

"What a splendid present that would make" he laughed, Mayor Clara laughed as did I, Tim smiled relieved.

He held my hand under the table, after we finished dinner we quickly are dessert.

"You eat more than Tim, honey did you think that was possible" Mayor Clara said with a giggle.

"Not at all, and he's almost half your size Tim" Doctor Carthens laughed, Tim laughed as well surprised.

"I'm growing" I joked and threw in a wink, his parents were capitulated by me, but there was something about his dad that worried me.

"You're actually normal height for your age, everyone else is just really tall" Doctor Carthens said nicely.

I smiled at him, "look who's not normal now" I said to Tim with a wink, everyone laughed.

"Alright, thank you for dinner tonight, I'm going to show Abel my room" Tim said with a smile, his parents waved us off.

"Leave the door open!" Doctor Carthens yelled after us, I started laughing.

"He's serious" Tim said with a laugh, oh gosh he's one of those parents.

He held my hand as he pulled me up a long flight of stairs, when he opened the door I was in disbelief.

His room was bigger than my whole house, and it had stairs that led to a second floor where his bed was.

It was like a living room downstairs, no wonder he didn't study, who would when they had a cinema in there room.

"Wow" I said softly, I was at a loss for words, he laughed at me, I looked at him confused.

"That's what everyone says" he said kissing my forehead, we walked up the marble stairs.

My feet touched thick carpet, I took my shoes off as he did, it was so warm.

He sat on the bed and turned on the huge flat screen, "do you want to watch football?" he asked.

I turned and gave him an 'are you serious' look, he laughed at me, I laughed mocking his raspy laugh.

"Watch it Crosswell" he said, I continued looking around his room, it was like an amusement park.

"You do not have a walk in closet" I said sliding open the door while looking at him.

"Nah my closet is over there" he said pointing at another door, I rolled my eyes.

"What's in here then?" I asked curiously, his face looked nervous.

"Nothing just don't go in there" he said quickly getting off his bed and grabbing my waist.

"What are you hiding?" I asked him, his face went bright red, he shook his head.

"Nothing" he said as he tried to kiss me, I used my strength to push him at arms length.

"Don't try and distract me, what's in there" I asked him with a serious face, he sighed.

"It's a secret" he said rubbing that back of his neck, my eyes squinted at him in anger.

"You know all my secrets Timothy, how can we be together if we're not honest" I said with sophistication.

"Woahhh who said anything about being together" he said lifting his hands up.

My eyes turned red and I bit my lip and looked away feeling stupid for saying that.

"Look I'm just kidding Abel, I just don't want you in there" he said softly, I rolled my eyes and began to walk away.

I kept huffing and puffing as he laughed at some comedy show, his huge muscular arm rested around my waist as I sat on his lap.

"Huhhhhhhh" I huffed dramatically, he pushed me off him, he was fed up, I grinned with satisfaction.

"Go look, just don't judge me" he said, I smiled and happily skipped and opened the door.

I walked in, there was a huge library, like huge, there were books I had never heard of in here.

"You're not the only one with a library" he said placing his head on top of mine.

"Why would I judge you for this?" I asked him, he was crazy, this was the most amazing thing if ever seen.

"I don't like people knowing this stuff, because they expect more from me" he said softly.

Oddly it made sense, if people knew you were smart they would expect the best from you.

"I act dumb so my dad doesn't force me to become a scientist like him" he whispered.

"This is amazing Tim" I said still in shock, I never saw this coming, I felt him smile against the back of my head.

"You think so?" he said happily, I turned around so I could face him, I nodded.

"Yeah, I kind of do" I said honestly, he smiled proudly and kissed me, he was smart, it made sense why he knew I was a vampire, he had probably read so much about them.

The books in here varied so differently, from fantasy fiction to historical non fiction.

"Can I borrow a book?" I asked as I walked through the maze, he walked behind me running his fingers along the books.

"Borrow as many as you want, just don't ruin them or anything" he said, I was dissatisfied by his lack of faith in my responsibleness.

"Thanks" I said, I learned to tread carefully around his sensitive areas, I didn't want him to blow up on me or ruin tonight.

I had about ten books spread on his king sized bed and was reading one, my head rested on his chest, his arm was around my back and he ran his fingers through my hair.

Footsteps clattered in the room, "Tim what time is it?" Mayor Clara asked with her arms crossed.

"Ughhh 10:37" he laughed nervously, his step mom gave him a look, he played dumb.

"Sorry Abel my step son has seemed to forgotten the rules" she said tapping her foot.

"Oh please don't this is so embarrassing Clara" he groaned, my eyebrow raised.

"You have football camp tomorrow which means no one past 10:30" she said looking at her iPad.

I forced my laugh down and kept a serious face, his arm fell from back in defeat.

"C'mon 20 more minutes?" he begged her, she thought about it and then winked at me.

"Only because I like Abel, but you're driving him home at 11" she said quickly, he sighed relieved.

She walked out of the room and I laughed into his shirt so he couldn't hear me.

"Abel why are you crying?" he asked so softly like her was scared I would break.

I lifted my red face up and kept laughing, "it's not funny" he said seriously.

"Why do you have rules! you're almost 18" I laughed, he rolled his eyes and pushed me off the bed.

"My parents are strict, I'm not smart remember, I have to keep up sport if I want to get into college and they take that seriously" he said embarrassed.

"You're so cute" I said pinching his cheeks, he swatted my hands away.

"I'm not cute!" he said with a manly voice, I lifted my eyebrow to show my confusion.

"I'm sexy" he winked, and kissed me, I laughed into his mouth which made him flinch.

"And conceited" I laughed, he pulled me off the floor and stood up himself.

"Shut up" he laughed as he out on his shoes as did i, we walked down stairs and Mayor Clara sat on the huge sofa.

"See you Abel!" she yelled and waved dramatically, I grinned and waved back just as enthusiastically.

"See you!!" I yelled back, we were only a couple feet away from each other so the yelling was unnecessary.

"Where's dad?" Tim asked, he wanted me to say bye to him as well, Mayor Clara rolled her eyes.

"Working as usual, I'll tell him you said bye Abel" she said with a yawn, I smiled with appreciation.

When we got home he walked me to my door step, he smiled at me and I bit my lip.

"Tonight was amazing" he said delicately rubbing his hand against my cheek.

"By far the best night of my life" I said softly, he smiled warmly, he looked so happy.

"But there will be better nights to come, don't you worry" he said with a grin.

"It was almost perfect tonight though" I said, I was cut off by his lips pressing softly against mine.

"Now it was perfect" I smiled against his mouth, I opened my eyes to see his eyes were still shut but he was smiling.

"Abel Crosswell this night has been perfect for me ever since I saw your beautiful face" he whispered in my ear.

I grabbed the back of his neck and kissed him ass passionately as I could, butterflies were eating my stomach alive.

The porch light kept flickering on and off, we both started laughing, "I believe that my signal to go" I said sadly.

"I'll see you in three days when I get back" he said longingly, I nodded, he turned and walked down the stairs to his car.

He turned and looked at me again, he smiled like it was a dream come true, "go before you get grounded" I yelled mockingly.

He waved me off rolling his eyes, I watched as his car drove down the street until it was gone.

I turned to open the door but it swung open, "you're late" Simon said with football paint under his eyes.

"I didn't know I had a curfew" I laughed, I walked past him, he smiled.

"So how was it?" he asked me, I ignored his question trying to avoid a awkward conversation.

"What's with all this?" I said motioning my hands around his face, he smiled excited.

"Football camp tradition, answer" he said quickly, I grumbled, his face turned to relief.

"It was perfect, I've never been so happy in my life, his dad was hectic but it was good" I said quickly, he sighed.

"Did any sucky sucky happen?" he asked with a wink, I laughed so hard, no he didn't ask me that.

"Simon you know me, what do you think?" I asked him seriously, he made an 'oh' face.

"Yeah, so did you blow him or did he blow you?" he asked, I threw one of the books I borrowed from Tim at him.

"I was kidding!" he yelled, I rolled my eyes as he laughed at me, I picked up the book to see if I'd damaged it by accident.

It was fine I sighed relieved, "I'm going to sleep, you coming?" he asked me, I nodded.

He fell asleep, next to me, he was so good at passing out, but not good at sleeping, one leg was off the bed and the other was on mine, and his hand was over my face.

He was lucky I didn't need to breathe or I would have died again, his snoring I was oddly used to and it calmed me.

Today was so perfect, too bad they were both going away for three days, what was I going to do?

I'll figure something out and excitedly await there return, maybe I'll go exploring or something.
