*Thayer's POV*

"um...hi Piper..." I said trying to not spit out my drink. Piper NEVER talks to me.

"Listen Thayer, I'm getting really bored at this party..." Piper took my drink from my hands and sat on my lap. I look over and saw Micah coming over. Is he going to be upset? Mad?

"um" Was all I could say. Piper smiled and switched her position on my lap so she had one leg on each side; straddling me. What was going on?

"Mic-"

"Shhhhhh...you don't need him when you can have me." Piper put her finger to my lips. She wants me to come with her? I sneak a glance at Micah. He was just watching me. Watching Piper, like he was waiting for something. Obviously Piper was indicating me to come with her, but it was kinda weird with Micah standing there watching me like a disapproving parent.

"Well?" Piper broke my thoughts.

"Well what?" I played dumb. This has to be a joke. Micah hates Piper. Piper doesn't talk to me. And now Piper is talking to me and Micah is just standing there watching. But I also haven't 'gotten any' in awhile. A long while. This was my chance, and I was going to take it.

"Come with me?" Piper asked. There it was, the words I was waiting for.

"Lead the way." I smiled at her. She smiled back and got off my lap. I took her hand and she started to lead me back to the stairs. I felt bad after taking her hand. I thought of Micah. Again, Micah did not like Piper. Things weren't adding up. I looked over my shoulder for Micah and saw him still standing by the couch full of girls. He had a face of longing. He looked sad. Why was he sad? It's not like he wanted Piper. Why else would he be upset? Or was this his face of shock, who knows. Maybe I should have talked to him about this first. Thats what I should do and that's what I'm going to do. I stopped walking halfway up the stairs.

"What is it?" Piper said after she realized I stopped walking.

"I need to talk to Micah real quick." I said, turning around.

"Jeez! You two can't do anything without each other can you?" She yelled.

"What's it matter? Are you upset you have never had a best friend?" I turned to face her, "or mad because you got me instead of Micah?" Where did that come from? I didn't have time to think about what I just said because Piper freaked again.

"Whatever! Your loss! This was a one time deal!" She rushed past me, almost knocked me over. THATS NOT WHAT I WANTED. I ran down the stairs to try to talk to Piper but she was already talking to someone else. More like ranting the words 'I told you!' Who was she talking to? I couldn't see because of this group of people who just happen to crowd the bottom of the stairs. How convenient.

*Micah's POV*

"What are you talking about?! He left with you!" I yelled right back at Piper. I was internally panicking because I did see Micah stop up the stairs. If he decided to say no, for god knows what, I have a nasty date to attend.

"He did, but then, he turned around and made some bullshit comment about talking to you first! Now that's gay!" Piper laughed. Did she think this was funny?

"I would still be his friend if he is gay!" I snapped. What is up with her? She must really want me. Well I hope she knows I won't be happy while attending our 'date'.

"I'm not...gay..." Wait what? I look past Piper's ugly face and see Thayer standing there. Great, just great. What else could go wrong tonight.

"I didn't say you-" I started but Piper cut me off with her loud mouth.

"Oh but Micah you did. Now let's get going, this party is boring!" She wrapped her arm around my waist. Jesus she picked the wrong time for this.

"I didn't...I'm not..." Thayer couldn't finish, I could see it in his eyes. He turned around and ran up the stairs. Wonderful. On the way home back to his house I can figure out how to explain to him all this, whatever this is.

"Piper not tonight." I yanked her arm off my waist and went off to find Thayer. Piper yelled something to me as I was sprinting upstairs but I couldn't hear her over the loud music and people. I get upstairs and Thayer is not there. I hear a car being started outside. I know that car anywhere, it's Thayer's. I walk outside to see him in his car, on his phone. Walking in front of the car to get to the passenger door, Thayer decides to turn his brights on and half blind me. I deserve it. And whatever comments he has to say when I get in. I climb in expecting the worse. Instead Micah is silent. He backs up the car and drives home. The whole way is silent. The whole night is silent.

The whole morning is silent. I leave before noon to avoid any more silence. I don't think I could take it. I feel so bad.
