I was wondering what Dask and Clara were up to.
Was he kissing her? Was she kissing him? Or running her fingers through his hair? Tasting his breath and feeling his arms wrapped around her?
Did he like kissing her? I mean what's so great about her anyway? She's not that pretty. She's not that nice. I mean, I might not be either. But still...
I looked around my room, biting my lip, not quite sure what to with myself.
He's been in here a million times.
I could hear his voice in my head, and the sound of his laugh.
I could picture his beautiful smile, the one that lights up his whole face.
I remembered the way he'd responded to my kiss, only yesterday. I swear it took his breath away, just as much as it did mine.
I couldn't help wondering why didn't tell me he was going to Clara's.
Didn't he think I could handle it, if he told me the truth? Well I can. I don't care, its his life. If he wants Clara, fine.
I sat back down on my bed.
Only it wasn't fine. I didn't want him to be with Clara.
I stared at the wall on the other side of my room, watching the shadows cast over my computer desk get longer.
Someone knocked on my bedroom door.
"Joseph?" It was my mom.
I sighed. "Yeah mom?"
"Dinner is ready. Wash up and come downstairs, please."
"Okay. I'll be down in a moment."
"Alright, hurry up love, before it gets cold."
"Thanks mom."
I washed my hands and face in the bathroom, walked downstairs, and joined my mom and dad at the table.
"Are you okay, Jo?" my mom asked.
"Sure mom."
"Your face is s little pink."
"I just washed it. Keeping it clean, so I don't get acne."
"Okay, love."
I looked down at my dinner plate intently, hoping she'd leave me alone. Thankfully she did, and I got to eat in peace.
Later, I went back up to my room.
I was glad my mom didn't give me a hard time about my homework.
I had a shower, brushed my teeth and lied in bed, with the light off. It was fairly early, but I was tired of thinking. I just wanted to go to sleep.
The next time I saw Dask, was the following morning. I was sitting at the back of the school bus, when it pulled into his stop. I looked out the window, and saw him stand up from the bench seat. A slight breeze ruffled his hair. He shook his head a little, and used his hand to wipe away any remaining fringe from his eyes, before he stepped onto the bus.
He spotted me as he swiped his bus ticket through the scanner. He held himself up straight as he walked towards me, his bag slung over one shoulder.
There was a slight commotion, a few girls were giggling, others said 'hello' to him. He smiled shyly at them, awkwardly waved and said 'hello' back to them, and greeted other friends on the bus on his way to sit next to me.
Poor Dask. It was probably like running a gauntlet, for him. Every day was the same, because I insisted on sitting at the back of the bus. Which meant, if he wanted to sit with me, he had to pass by his admirers and go through this each day.
I almost chuckled to myself when I saw his cheeks had heated up, and he looked towards me as if I was his salvation. But, I tried to remember that I was still annoyed with him for ditching me last night to be with Clara, and he had even lied about it. Well, he hadn't exactly lied, but he hadn't really told me the whole truth either.
I was determined to have a pissed expression on my face when he sat down next to me.
"Hey," he said as he sat down.
"Hey," I replied.
I knew I needed to ask him about Clara right away, before she boarded at the next stop, so I just came out with it. "Are you and Clara back together?"
Dask didn't answer me straight away, and his eyes wouldn't meet mine either. When he finally looked at me, I still saw the hesitation in his eyes. "No," he said.
"I seen you with her yesterday, after school," I said.
"We had some things to talk about."
"Did she ask you out?"
"No."
"What did you have to talk about?"
"A few things."
"Like what?"
There was that hesitation again.
"Just a few things," he said.
"Right, you don't want to tell me."
"It's not that, Jo."
"What is it then?" I asked.
"I can't say."
"Sure," I said, not believing him.
He didn't say anything in return.
I shook my head and looked out the window.
Dask remained silent.
A few minutes later, the bus pulled into Clara's stop, and little 'Miss Perfect' looked happy with herself. She waved at Dask, a huge smile on her face.
I rolled my eyes.
She strolled up to the back of the bus and sat down next to Dask.
"Hi Dasky," she said and gave him a hug.
Dasky? I snickered to myself.
"Hi Clara," he said and smiled at her warmly.
"Hi, Jo," she said to me.
"Hi," I said.
She turned to Dask. "Did you finish up the rest of your assignment last night?"
"I did some," he replied.
She spoke to me next. "What about you Jo? Our English assignment?"
"Nope. Someone was going to come over last night and help me," I said.
"Oh, that's my bad," Clara said. "I asked Dask to come over and help me with something."
That didn't make me feel any better. He'd promised to help me, then he ditched me for her.
Dask said, "I texted you yesterday, Jo. I told you I had something to do."
"You promised to help me first," I said.
"I'll come over tonight."
"Oh but Clara might still need your help."
Clara interrupted, "Clara doesn't need anymore help."
"Good to know," I said.
Clara and I silently looked at one another. Clara's brow furrowed and she looked at Dask.
I turned towards Dask too. He looked like he wanted to be anywhere else, but with us.
Clara spoke, "Will you come with me to the library first up, Dask?"
"Sure," he replied.
The day went on.
Most of the day, at breaks in shared classes, Clara and Dask would be huddled together in a corner somewhere, talking to eachother.
I knew what that meant. She may not have asked him out, but it was probably just a matter of time before he asked her out.
By the end of school, I'd had enough of seeing them together and all the whispers about them.
He might not have been avoiding me, but it seemed like he was, to me.
I just wanted to go home, put on some loud music, and kill something on my xbox.
I couldn't give two fucks about my assignment.
Surprisingly, Dask did get off the bus with me, and he helped me with my homework. It was a little awkward at first, because of all the left over tension from the day. And, I felt like he was hiding something from me. His eyes would flicker away from mine, and not make regular eye contact. I almost wanted to grab his face and tell him to look at me. That's when I knew I was beginning to lose it.
It didn't help that he smelled so good. That his body begged me to hold it. I wanted to pull his pants off and run my hands up his legs and over his tight little ass and kiss those pouty lips of his.
Yeah, I just wanted to forget homework and make out. Tomorrow he might start going out with Clara. I wanted to make the most of today.
Decided, I placed my hand over his. He stopped writing almost instantly. His hand was warm, and we both watched as I ran the pad of my thumb under his palm, to open his hand, causing him to drop the pencil.
I heard Dask take a shaky breath.
I know. I should let him make the first move, after what happened on the island. But, I figured if I did that I'd be waiting a long time. He was probably going to ask out Clara tomorrow, and I just wanted to kiss him one last time.
I continued to lightly rub circles into his palm.
I heard Dask swallow.
I looked up and seen his eyes were trained on our hands.
He slowly lifted his eyes. His golden lashes parted to reveal his beautiful eyes. They were a soft blue color, and the honesty of his affection was clear within their depths.
I realised that I craved his eyes on me at all times, to watch my every move, to understand me, to want me as much as I wanted him. His attention caused all my blood to run south to my groin.
My heart was in my throat. There was nothing more I wanted than to grab him close.
I leaned in towards him slowly, I tried to hold back a little, take it slow.
His breathing was shallow, his cheeks pink. His pupils were blown wide open and I felt the heat of his skin as I leaned in closer.
He licked his lips. The moisture glistened upon them.
Fuck if I couldn't contain myself any longer.
I brushed my lips lightly across the bone of his jaw, and felt him shiver.
His lips slightly parted. The sweet scent of his breath bathed my lips.
I waited for him to stop me. To tell me he didn't want this.
"Jo?"
I immediately moved back a fraction.
"Yeah?"
"I need to tell you something."
"Can it wait?"
"It's important."
I sighed and moved away from him a little. I wasnt going to be able to listen to him properly if I didn't put some space between us. I had a noticeable problem downstairs.
I wished we could mess around a little before he told me we couldn't anymore, cause he was going to ask out Clara. No such luck.
But there, that did it. My heated thoughts left me at the thought of Clara, taking my hard on with it.
"I just..need to go to the bathroom," I said.
Dask blushed.
"Not for that!" I said.
"No I didn't mean..."
"I just need to go, ya know?"
"When ya gotta go ya gotta go," Dask said.
We looked at each other and laughed.
"You know it," I said.
I smiled as I took off to the bathroom. But, it quickly fell as I remembered that he was going to tell me something that I probably wasn't going to like.

This is not the end of the story. This is a long ass chapter, but I still couldn't manage to fit the ending onto it, in time for uploading. So, there will be another chapter next week. Yay!
The next chapter will probably be the last chapter, but it might not. We shall see.
Dedication for this chapter goes to @TheUnknownFrogDeer for their continued support of this story.
