Chapter 22

Days had been spent with a pack getting to know the actual Derek aka Jalin. Come to find out he was a pretty cool guy. Langdon was forming a protective streak in him. After what happened to Zero, he was keeping a watchful eye over his mate. If Zero was away from him, Zero had to call and let him know what was going on.

Jalin and Langdon was getting along with his big brother. Zero had found it funny how two lost brothers had bonded so quickly. Jalin was actually a pretty funny guy. He knew how to make Langdon laugh. Strange that he could so easily connect with his little brother. It was like they have known each other for years.

What impressed Zero even more was Jalin had volunteered himself to be another test dummy for Langdon’s lessons. He was grateful that he had someone else to endure the emotion that Langdon could inflict.

During a pack meeting a few of the wolves were angered that the Alpha was bringing in more outsiders. Allowing them to roam freely on the territory. Jalin felt the emotion, causing the War wolves to gather around the younger War wolf. Nathanial ordered them to take Jalin outside. Langdon shot Zero a frustrated look before heading out the door after his brother. Leaving a extremely ticked off mate.

Tatom followed him out the door. There was an unsettling feeling inside of Langdon. He still didn’t know if he wanted to stay within the pack. Zero knew this. And what just happened didn’t make the decision any easier for him.

“Do not blame my father,” Zero growled as he stood up. “It is my choice to allow Jalin to stay.”

The pack looked over at their future Alpha.

“What this pack forgets is we do things to protect you. Jalin is a strong War wolf, who has not shared his soul. And who is Langdon’s brother.

“I’m sick of hearing doubt upon you. My father, myself and our Beta’s are trying to give this pack more protection. By all means, there’s the door. If you cannot accept our decisions, then walk. You will not be allowed back. You will lose our protection and won’t be allowed back.”

Some members shifted in their seats. Settling any arguments on their end. A few teenagers were worried that their parents would leave. Knowing that they had voiced their opinions. Bret received the shock of a lifetime when his mother and aunt stood up. People gasped as the realization settled in. Everyone had heard them voice their opinions, however, enough to leave was a different story.

“Bret, come along. We are leaving.”

His shock kept him stunned for a moment. Then his anger grew, “I’m not leaving.”

“Oh yes you are!”

“I do believe I’m an adult. I can make my own decisions. Unlike you I do not care that Zero is mated to a man. Or the Alpha is bringing in more wolves. Or any other decision that is made. I like this pack. I’m staying in this pack.” His voice rang the dominate tone. Impressing a few wolves around him.

“You would turn your back on family?” His mother gasped.

“No, my decisions are for me and me alone.”

“I knew you were a disgrace,” his aunt snapped. “Disloyal, no good.”

“Get the hell out!” Zero stood over the women growling. His body guarded Bret from them. “Bret has chosen to stay with us. Therefore I will protect him at all cost.”

His growling kept up towards the women. They looked over to find Aaron and Josh hovering around their Alpha. Snatching each others hand they walked out with their heads high. The air was silent for a moment. Zero calmed his beast down. The wolf was trying to claw its way towards the surface for its own action.

“Max, Jen go with them. Make sure they do not destroy any of Bret’s belongings. See them to the line, then straight back.”

“Yes Alpha.” Max had taken a hold of Jen’s hand and walked passed their pack leaders. Both showed their necks as they went.

“Anymore?”

No wolves spoke up or even moved for that matter.

“Very well,” Zero moved back with his Beta’s. “We have one more wolf coming. A War wolf. He also is a brother of Langdon’s. If he chooses to stay he will.”

That ended that conversation.

“Langdon, are you going to stay with me?” Zero sat down on the bed. Bailey had just finished her nightly mother routine. Somehow they had split up the housing between the Alpha’s and here. Tonight it was Bailey’s turn.

“I’m not leaving you.”

“Not the same.”

Langdon closed his eyes. He had been back and forth about his decision. If Jace went home, he would lost his brother. Zero wouldn’t deny him trips, but it wasn’t the same. On top of that he couldn’t help feeling guilty about Savage. Knowing he hadn’t started the war. Just felt like he added to it.

“I’m scared,” he whispered.

“I’m right here,” Zero pulled him over his chest. “Are you afraid to lose Jalin?”

Langdon nodded.

“How about this? We can ask Jace to become a member of our pack.”

Langdon looked up.

“My Beta’s and I was talking. Jalin needs War wolves, the pack has them.” Langdon laughed. “June is here. Jack is like you. Savage’s pack has a lot of rogues. We could use his help. Plus he’s been helping you.

“How about this, we wait until this big brother comes and then we’ll talk. It will give you more time to think. And we’ll see who this big brother is.”

“Okay,” Langdon actually like this idea. He really did have a cool and understanding mate. Showering kisses along Zero’s jaw line, a growl slowly slipped up. Zero could feel the smirk forming on Langdon’s face. Being a werewolf defiantly has its perks.

Tatom was careful on how he was dressing today. He did the normal routine, fix his hair, put on what he felt more comfortable in. Even though it took five shirt changes. There was excitement building up in him. He felt Langdon’s vibes from here. Taking a deep breath and held it for a moment. Blowing it out, the energy was building. He had to calm himself down. Today was about the brothers. He couldn’t do anything that would take the spot light off of Langdon and Jalin. But then again, the excitement was growing more by the minute.

Deciding that it would be okay to explode a brief but controlled moment. He fist pumped the air like a boxer would. This seemed to help. Only movement caught his eye. Looking over, great he had been caught by Jace. His dream guy. Blushing with embarrassment, Jace giggled. Oh that sound is so sweet.

“What’s up with the digs?” a husky voice entered the air. Jalin appeared over the top of Jace’s head.

“I don’t know. Really couldn’t decide what I felt more comfortable in.”

“You are a strange witch. But alright, let’s go. Fire should be here soon.”

Jace eyed his excitement. The knowing eyes told him he knew something was up. Shrugging his shoulders, Tatom gathered his shoes and walked towards the bedroom door. He actually liked not living alone. It was nice to have friends that look after one and another. Jace and Jalin had become those friends. Jace gave him a quick hug before returning to Jalin’s side. Jalin shook his head. He had a too friendly of a mate. The witch knew though. He only looked at Jace like a friend.

Tatom removed himself from the room for a moment. This should happen, maybe, not today. There will be War wolves all over the Alpha’s house. He had to be careful, the sons of the father’s will be walking around. This frightened and excited him. He loved War wolves. Thought they were beautiful creatures.

The Alpha opened the door to a knock. There stood a rather large wolf and a she-wolf. By the looks of him, he defiantly was Langdon’s brother. The wolf’s eyes held a tiredness. His body was amped up. Sticking out his hand, he introduce himself as Dalson. The Alpha shook his hand and told him to come in. Dalson jumped up the remaining three steps. He was pumped up to see his brothers. Nathanial laughed. Soon as Dalson entered the house, the War wolves met him at the door. Dalson paused.

He knew he needed this. Allowing one of the War wolves touch him, he closed his eyes. Inhaling deep breath, something sweet caught his attention. Made his beast stirred up more excitement. The War wolves surrounded him, blocking his senses for a moment. His beast howled. Maybe they had been away from other War wolves for too long.

Once the wolves straightened up, Alpha Blackwood stood before him. “How are you?”

Dalson inhaled a deep breath, “Actually I am better now.”

“Are you okay to meet your brother or do you need more time? Jalin told me that you are in more control of your wolf. But Langdon is pretty excited to meet you. He’s been feeling the house up all day.”

They heard a irritated growl then laughter. Dalson chuckled. “I’m good. Besides Jalin knows me. He’ll know if I’m losing control.”

            “No setting things on fire.”

Dalson nodded his head, and thought. ‘Jalin at least told him the first sign of me losing control.’ His beast growled. He had been wanting to see Jalin as much as he did. Both him and his beast was excited to finally meet this baby brother of theirs.

Walking into the living room, Jalin stepped forth. His eyes widened. “Damn Jalin, you’ve grown again!” Dalson laughed as he pulled his little brother into a hug. This calmed him down more. He whispered, “You okay little bro?”

“I’m good!” Jalin squeezed his arms around Dalson. Dalson’s beast pushed forward, he wanted to feel Jalin’s wildness. Out of the two of them, Jalin had more rogue in him. They figured it was because he was a Rage wolf.

Pulling back, Jalin done a side step. “Meet Langdon.” Langdon stood up, Jalin took a hold of his shoulder and gently pulled him forward. Zero kept his eyes on his mate. He promised not to pull the dominate Alpha male until he felt that Langdon was in harms way.

Langdon and Dalson had a lot in common by looks. The same green eyes, dark blonde hair, same nose. Jalin had once said he looked more like their father, where Dalson and Langdon was a mixture of both.

Holding his hand on Langdon’s shoulder. Dalson raked his eyes over his little baby brother’s face. Tears of longing joy fell from the massive wolf. Tucking a hand at the side of his face, Dalson couldn’t believe that he was standing there with his baby brother. One word came out before Dalson smothered him into a hug, “Langdon.” The big dangerous wolf was a baby when it came to this very moment. Jalin laid his hand on Dalson’s shoulder. His big brother was losing control, just not in a way that they thought he would.

“I hate to tell you this, but I’m afraid you are suck looking like me.” A Dalson joke saved them from the moment. Dalson would never allow himself get too serious, he knew that he was dangerous.

Listening to the laughter coming from the Alpha’s living room. Dalson seemed to be the joker of the three brothers. A pang of sorrow hit home with him. Dalson showed up with a chic hanging on his arm. This wasn’t how it was suppose to be. Dalson was to meet his mate today, and didn’t. Even came face to face with the person, nothing! Tatom rubbed his neck. This was wrong. Something was wrong. Mates were suppose to find themselves today.

Eyeing the living room, he could see his mate sitting there. He was sitting close to Zero and Langdon but back around the other War wolves. Ivan tapped his shoulder, looking back, the man had crossed his arms. Whispering if he was eyeing his boy. Tatom shrugged. He was watching the War wolves. Ivan never questioned why he liked the War wolves so much. He would just shake his head, then move on.

Dressing up wasn’t needed today. His mate looked him square in the eye and moved along. That meant he read the vision wrong. All he really seen was, nothing. The vision was wrong. No War wolf would ever want him as a mate. He had always been the odd ball. The witches even told him that. Why on earth would he think that a beautiful War wolf would want him anyway.

Peeking in one last time, all the wolves were enjoying the company of each other. Langdon radiated with happy vibes. Keeping the wolves in a jovial like state. Then it hit him on what the vision could have meant. He was being thanked for what he had done. The War wolf that he though was his mate, was thanking him. With Langdon’s excitement, it caused him to act that way. Nodding to himself, he went for the door. Before that could have happened, he wanted to get out of there. Save himself from the embarrassment.

Tapping his pocket half way down the drive. It was punishment. He had broken Kagen’s heart. This was punishment for doing a bad deed. His mother had warned him not to mess with love. He would from out that karma can come back and break him.

In the morning there was a tap on the door. Tatom knew it was Jace. Another tap, he wondered if Jalin and Dalson was standing with him. Finally the door popped opened. A smile lit his face.

            “You okay?”

            Nodding, “Just don’t feel well.”

He frowned, “Can I get you something?”

            “No thank you.”

“Call me if you need anything.”

            “I will.”

He stared at him for a moment. Could he tell that he was lying? He didn’t feel all that great just extremely embarrassed. Before leaving he came in and gave him a hug. Without saying another word, Jace left.

Damn him for being so kind hearted! Rolling over he closed his eyes. Allowing the embarrassment to wash over him again. With the bond between him and Langdon he had to force his emotions away. Today he just couldn’t do it. Karma had bit him where it hurt.
