Chapter 11
5 months later...
Jesse’s POV
‘Everyone up now! We have a round of shirtless soccer first thing,’ the coach, or doctor, or whatever you want to call him yelled from outside of the tent. I could feel Daman shift beside me before sitting up and looking at me with sleepy eyes. I gave him a friendly smile before rolling over in the tent then just staring at the green fabric.
‘What’s up with you now Jesse?’ Daman asked as he began to crawl to the door of the tent.
‘I was just thinking about Kayda and Olivia,’ I answered as I copied him then crawled out of the open tent door whilst heading over to our lockers which were in the shower room. ‘So what are you doing when you get home?’ I asked as I put the code into my locker.
‘Finding a girlfriend maybe, probably. Anyway we still have another two weeks at this crap thing so don’t go getting ahead of yourself,’ Daman laughed as he smacked my arm playfully. I sarcastically laughed as I took my black basketball shorts from my locker then quickly folded them whilst picking my red converse up then making my way over to the showers which we already full with naked men all at this camp for the same reason as me.
‘Andre hurry the hell up, some people need to make themselves look presentable unlike you,’ Christopher moaned as he stood beside me then crossed his arm. I gave him a welcoming smile as I looked him up and down. Christopher’s the pretty boy of the camp, apparently he is going to be staying here the longest; sucks to be him. ‘Them guys always end up hogging the showers,’ Christopher complained as he crossed his arms then lent back on the window of the shower room.
‘It’s because they are smart enough to get up early,’ Daman laughed as he wrapped his arm around Christopher’s shoulder then pulled him up to him. ‘No boner, you’re obviously getting better Chris,’ Daman claimed as he released Chris. I rolled my eyes at the pair of them as they joked around like fools.
‘Bagsy first shower,’ Christopher yelled as he sprinted across the slippy floor to the shower which Fletcher had just come from.
‘You bitch! I was here first!’ Daman shouted as he tiptoed carefully, yet quickly, across the white tiles over to Christopher before tackling him to the ground and they both slipped then ended up in a sort of doggy pile on the floor. I decided to be boss and just step over them then take the shower they were both fighting over before stripping out of my underwear. ‘Jesse help me here, I thought you were on my side you jerk!’ Daman mumbled as Christopher clung onto his side whilst he tried to crawl away from the water coming from my shower. I just ignored them then continued to shower proudly at my achievement of claiming the shower.
We all stood in the middle of the field with confused looks plastered on our face. I looked around all twenty boys and everyone had well built bodies. ‘No sexual contact boys!’ Coach shouted as he walked kicked a soccer ball towards Fletcher who was looking at the grass. Everyone instantly began charging towards him. I just stood back with my hands behind my back like an idiot as the guys all fought in front of me. ‘Jesse get involved now!’ Coach shouted as he blew a loud whistle in my ear. I turned to him the scowled before jogging towards the ball unwittingly.
‘Did you hear the news?’ Daman asked as he jogged to my side whilst pushing his auburn hair away from his face. His cheeks were a slight tone of pink but his skin was nicely tanned so it wasn’t very noticeable.
‘What news?’ I asked as I continued to jog to the ball which was now getting kicked to the other side of the “pitch” which was just a few sticks outlining a goal on either side.
‘Apparently that Prince is back in town. He has just flown over from New York.’ My mind instantly switched back to Charles. I hadn’t thought about him in about two months, since I’d been at camp Charles had been permanently pushed aside of my brain. ‘You know who I mean right? Him from that island, Prince Charles. I use to have a crush on him but that died off after I came here,’ Daman continued. ‘Do you know who I mean?’ I nodded slowly. Charles was going to be back in Los Angeles? When I finally began moving on he had to re-appear.
‘Yeah I know who he is, I read about him in the paper a while back,’ I muttered not wanting to have to explain the full story to Daman.
‘Jesse wat-,’ too late, I ran straight into a tree and ended up on the floor. I heard Daman burst out into fits of laughter which made me want to punch him in the face. ‘Dude, are you okay? You look like you ran into that tree pretty fast.’ I looked at Daman with a frown and he was lying on the floor whilst clutching his stomach, probably trying to stop himself from laughing.
‘You best piss of now or else I’ll punch you!’ I spat as I stood up whilst dusting the dry mud from my bum.
‘It’s not my fault that a tree just decided to go in front of you. I mean it totally didn’t start off there,’ Daman teased sarcastically. I just grunted then jogged after the football trying to seem fully awake. Prince Charles Arnold, causing trouble before he’s even arrived? Old habits die hard. I smirked at my thoughts.
Charles’s POV
‘Did you hear?’ Callie muttered as she pulled me into her bedroom whilst holding a pot of ice cream.
‘Not really, I mean I’ve only just got here,’ I answered.
‘Well you remember Jesse Taylor?’ How could I forget Jesse Taylor? He didn’t leave my mind since that stupid kiss. I nodded. ‘He went to a camp to cure homosexuality!’ Callie screamed. My jaw dropped open.
‘There is actually such thing of those? Who is stupid enough to think they can be cured of something that isn’t even a disease?’ I questioned as Geoffrey entered whilst eating an apple.
‘What got cured?’ He asked completely oblivious of our recent conversation.
‘No Geoffrey, Jesse Taylor is at a camp to cure homosexuality,’ I answered as I ate some ice cream. Geoffrey let out an exaggerated laugh before smiling. ‘Stupid people now days. Like seriously it’s the twenty first century, homosexuality should be accepted by now.’
‘I know, Jesse is a turd. I only know this because we actually became pretty close friends since you left. Why didn’t you tell me Char!?’ Callie questioned loudly as she chomped on another spoon of ice cream. Eww! It reminded me of that horrid brain freeze from my last trip to Los Angeles.
‘Tell you what?’ I asked.
‘That you kissed Jesse!’
‘Because I didn’t kiss him, he kissed me,’ I admitted, we it was technically the truth. Sure I enjoyed the kiss but I didn’t choose to kiss him.
‘Still, your lips and his lips touched. This is big news you know!’ Callie continued to shout. I just rolled my eyes.
‘Anyway Jesse doesn’t matter anymore. I have my chosen bride now anyway and I actually think I love her,’ I laughed as I licked the spoon even though it was spotless from any ice cream.
‘Oh yeah I forgot about that, so when am I going to see the photo of this soon to be princess?’ Callie asked as she nudged my shoulder with her arm. I took my phone from my pocket then showed her the background photo. It was of Rosanne and myself. Rose is gorgeous. She has light brown hair which is slightly curly she has olive skin. Her eyes are a dark green colour and she is just perfect. ‘Aww you look so cute together. Anyway do you feel any different being eighteen?’
‘Definitely. I mean I have actually grown a chest hair,’ I laughed as I smiled at Callie. She hit me in the arm jokily.
Geoffrey and I sat in the back of the limousine as we waited to be driven to the hotel we’d be staying at. ‘What are you thinking?’ Geoffrey asked as though he was inside my brain.
‘Nothing,’ I lied.
‘Tell me Char,’ Geoffrey muttered as he looked at his tie in the mirror then began adjusting it.
‘I want to see Jesse,’ I admitted. ‘Stupid I know,’ I mumbled as I looked at Geoffrey.
‘Well then we’ll go see him, tomorrow we’ll find the camp he is at and then we’ll go see him. Sorted,’ Geoffrey said as he smiled at me. I wanted to kiss him on the face.
‘Thank you so much Geoff! Did I ever tell you I love you?’
‘No.’
‘Well I do!’ I kissed Geoffrey’s cheek before clapping my hands like a child. ‘Don’t think me speaking to Jesse again is going to change anything though. We will probably still hate each other, especially after the last time I was here.’
‘I’m not forcing you to go,’ Geoffrey mumbled. I looked at him then rolled my eyes.
‘I want to go; I’m just scared I guess...’ I dragged as I looked out of the blacked out windows at the town of America.
‘What is there to be scared of Char? You know Jesse and he knows you,’ Geoffrey sneered as he watched me whilst continuing to straighten out his uniform.
‘I’m just scared okay, leave me alone,’ I whined as I hugged my knees.
‘You’re so weird Charles,’ Geoffrey admitted. I quickly kicked my leg out into his thigh which just made him laugh. Jerk!
