Chapter 16
Jesse’s POV
The plane had been flying for over twenty hours when it began to land. The island I was looking at looked amazing. It didn’t even look like a real place, it was like I had died and gone to a place even better then heaven. The photos weren’t even lying. From the sky I could see all the bright green grass and the white pebble roads. All the houses had brown thatched roofs. I couldn’t see the entire island because it was huge but what I could see was gorgeous. I could even make out where the palace was. It was huge!
‘Where to?’ A man asked as he pulled up outside the airport in a white Mercedes C Class car. This is what the taxis look like in Driftwood.
‘The palace,’ I said as I watched the man get out the car and open the door.
‘I don’t know if that is a good idea. If you are going site seeing then you might need to wait a while to go there, you see something bad happened there at the beginning of the week,’ the taxi driver said as he put our suitcases in the boot. My heart began racing.
‘Did something happen to Charles? Please, please, please tell me Charles is okay,’ I said quietly.
‘Nothing happened to Prince Charles. By the way you might want to start saying Prince before you just say Charles. People over here find it offensive,’ the man said as shut our doors then got into the
front of the car.
‘Sorry, it’s just a habit. You see when he came to America I didn’t know he was a Prince until his last day,’ I said with a laugh. The taxi driver just looked at me through the window with an amused look whilst Kayda sat in silence.
‘So why do you want to go to the palace if it isn’t to harass the royal family?’ The taxi driver asked and he started the car up.
I looked at him through the mirror. ‘My father was seen in the background of a photo at the palace and I need to find him. Charles, sorry Prince Charles, and I have a weird relationship,’ I responded. The taxi driver nodded his head then began to drive silently.
‘That would be three pounds, forty-five pence,’ the taxi driver said. Crap! I don’t have any money from this country which is obviously the British currency.
‘If you couldn’t tell from my accent, I’m from America,’ I began. ‘I will go to the palace and ask Char for a little money so if you like?’ I asked.
‘Well with you being a friend of the Prince’s I will let you off,’ the taxi driver said as he got out the Mercedes and then opened the door for Kayda and I to get out. ‘I hope you enjoy your stay in Driftwood,’ the taxi driver finished as he got into the car and sped away.
‘Can you believe it Kayda? We actually made it to Driftwood, alone,’ I whispered as I walked up to the huge, metal gates which line an amazing looking palace. There was a huge fountain which was spurting water in the centre of the white pebbled driveway. Limousine’s outlined the fountain perfectly and they all were parked properly and neatly. A small buzzer blended in with the black metal of the gate and I clicked the button waiting for something magical to happen. All that happened was a man begun speaking.
‘Sorry but there isn’t any tours happening today for tourist,’ the man began.
‘Actually I’ve come to find my father and see Prince Charles,’ I spoke down the machine up closely as though the person on the opposite side was deaf.
‘What is your father names sir and what is yours twos names?’ the man asked, his accent sounded like Charles except his voice was a lot deeper.
‘Kenneth Taylor is my father sir, and I’m Jesse Taylor and this is my little sister Kayda Taylor,’ I replied.
‘Oh yes, please make your way to the front door where a guard should meet you and bring you into the palace.’
‘Thank you,’ I called as I gripped Kayda’s hand tightly again. I felt a little nausea coming on. The gate began opening and I saw the beauty of the palace closely. The house was huge with about one million windows just on the front of it. The walls were white stone and the steps leading to the front door were made out of a light coloured marble from what I could see even though the walk to the steps looked as though it would take over three minutes.
‘You must be Jesse and Kayda Taylor?’ A large guy asked as he began leading me up the marble stair and to the door of the palace which was guarded by two other large men both in suits.
‘Yeah that is correct,’ I couldn’t help smiling. I’d be seeing my dad, finally!
‘Okay I think that Charles’s butler Geoffrey is waiting in the main hall so he can show you to Charles. Kayda someone has sent Harvey to take you to see Kenneth,’ Kayda and I both nodded excitedly whilst still holding out cases behind us. The two guards opened both the doors a synchronised times and allowed us to see what was hiding behind them. I gasped as I tried to take in the gorgeous site, and this is where Charles grew up? There were large paintings lining the walls of what I was guessing to be the entire royal family. I couldn’t take my eyes off the painting of Charles. I looked pretty recent because he looked almost the same, just a lot smarter. In the main hall there were over twenty people speeding through whilst getting dressed. Kayda and I looked completely out of place. Everyone was dressed in either suits or professional dresses whilst I stood in my jogger bottoms, baggy hoodie and red converse and Kayda was wearing some white skinny jeans, a purple vest top and her grey vans.
‘Jesse Taylor,’ Geoffrey said sounding a little more posh than usual. ‘I shell take you to see Prince Charles. Kayda, Harvey is waiting by the doors,’ Geoffrey added as he pointed to a boy who looked a lot like himself but was a little taller. ‘Excuse me Isaac,’ Geoffrey said as another guy who looked like him walked up.
‘What do you want Geoff?’ Isaac asked as he stood beside him. Geoffrey glanced to us then back at Isaac. Isaac coughed, ‘sorry, would you like me to take your luggage to one of the spare rooms? You’re the children of Kenneth Taylor; I’ll give you a room close to his.’ I nodded my head and smiled at Isaac as he put our luggage onto a golden luggage cart and began walking away.
‘Kayda go to Harvey and he’ll take you to dad. I’ll be there in a minute I just need to go and apologise,’ I whispered to Kayda. Kayda smiled at Geoffrey before walking through the hall to Harvey whilst dodging all the rushing people. ‘Nice to see you so soon Geoff,’ I laughed. ‘Show me the Prince!’ I insisted seeming a little more excited to be in a palace with royal people. Geoffrey rolled his eyes then smiled at me before proceeding to walk ahead of me.
We stood out of a two large, white doors. This can’t be Charles room; the doors are the same size as my entire apartment. Two guards were stood either size which made me scrunch my toes in my shoes. ‘Prince, you have a visitor,’ Geoffrey called as he pushed the doors open.
‘Tell them to come in please,’ I heard Charles voice which sent my belly into a crazy rampage of butterflies. The nausea came back ten times worse and I gulped loudly. I was still trying to get over the sites I had seen in the last hour never mind seeing Charles again.
‘You may enter,’ Geoffrey instructed as the guards pushed open the door. I breathed loudly a few times before walking in slowly. The room was about the same size of a large bungalow. Charles was sat on his bed facing the opposite way to the door. Once the door was closed I felt a lot more relaxed but the butterflies annoyed me, I’ve never had them before.
‘Princey-Boy,’ I spoke. Charles instantly stood up and turned around obviously recognising my voice. I saw a smile appear on Charles face as he ran quickly round the bed but he stopped about a meter away from me even though I held my arms out ready for his embrace.
‘Am I allowed to hug you?’ Charles asked. I looked at him then rolled his eyes before walking up to him and hugging him.
‘I’m sorry Char, from before and everything,’ I said.
‘Don’t worry about it, it was my fault. I shouldn’t have allowed you to kiss me. I was being selfish because I knew I’d be leaving soon and-’ I cut him off by pressing my lips to his. Charles didn’t even take time to think about what was going on before he began kissing back. I let my tongue lick his lip a little before he opened his mouth. Charles had a weird taste about him, he tasted like strawberries. Charles arms were now wrapped around my neck and I held onto his waist whilst allowing my tongue explore his mouth.
‘It wasn’t your fault,’ I said softly whilst looking into his beautiful eyes and he looked back. His cheeks were pink. ‘I was a jerk and I couldn’t decide,’ I muttered as I held onto Charles’s waist as I kissed his lips lightly.
‘Why are you here? In Driftwood?’ Charles asked as he hugged my tighter.
‘I can’t concentrate whilst you are hugging me like this,’ I laughed as I released Charles and the warmness left me instantly. I wanted to pull him back but I had to explain. ‘One of the reasons I came here was to apologise and tell you that I fell in love with you. And the second reason was because my dad lives here, he works in this palace,’ I said trying to avoid the part about me loving Charles.
‘What’s your father’s name?’ Charles asked as he sat on his bed.
‘Kenneth Taylor,’ I answered as I sat next to him.
‘No way, he’s my tutor,’ Charles said as he laughed a little then turned face me. I stood up over him before pushing him to the bed, I could hold back from kissing him any longer. I pushed him down into the strangely padded bed and then jumped onto him so I was straddling him. I leant down a kissed him. Charles held my neck so he could reach my mouth a little easier. I began to drop down until I was practically lying on him. I pulled away from Charles mouth and began kissing his jaw line and then his neck. I sucked his neck lightly and I could felt his bulge hardening on my thigh as I continued to suck different spots. Then he moaned and I knew I found the spot. I sucked a little harder and I felt the bulge get harder so I shifted a little so it wasn’t going into my leg. ‘Jesse stop,’ Charles moaned. I pulled away and looked at the hickey which was forming on Charles’s neck.
‘Sorry,’ I apologised.
‘No it’s not that, I am supposed to be getting married Jesse. I’ll tell my mother and I’ll dump Rosanne for you. But we can’t do this until that has been done.' And then I heard a door slam. I quickly jumped up from Charles and stood up in shock.
‘Who was that?’ I asked as I looked at Charles nervously. He shrugged then stood up and headed across the room to the door and then pulled it open.
‘Who just came in here?’ Charles asked one of the guards.
‘Rosanne, Prince,’ the guard responded. I felt guilty and I quickly began heading to the door whilst Charles looked at me, his blue eyes looked sat.
‘I’m so sorry Charles,’ I whispered as I held his hand lightly. Charles quickly pulled away.
‘I think you should go and find your dad. I’ll go speak to Geoffrey for a little and discuss how to sort things out with Rosanne,’ Charles said as he struggled to pull his collar a little higher to try and cover the hickey which I had given him.
‘Sorry,’ I said quietly as I left the room in search of someone to help me find my father.
Kayda’s POV
‘Kenneth Taylor,’ Harvey called as he walked into a large room which had loads of computers in it, there was like one hundred. And then I saw him, my dad stood up. The last time I saw him I was three.
‘What do you want Harvey? I working on a very important project,’ my dad said as he looked at Harvey completely oblivious to me stood beside him. I felt tears stinging my eyes before they fell in a river.
‘Your daughter came to see you,’ Harvey announced. I saw my dad look at me and then he quickly ran from the computer he was stood behind and scooped me up into his arms. I always saw photos of him doing this when I was little. ‘Your son is here to but he has gone to go and apologise to Prince Charles.’ I don’t really think my dad was listening; he was too busy crying into my shoulder whilst hugging me like a baby.
‘How did you get here? You didn’t come alone did you?’ My dad asked as between tears as he allowed me back to the floor.
‘No I came with Jesse,’ I answered as I smiled trying to stop myself from crying.
‘What about your mother? Did she just allow you to leave?’ My dad asked, he was still his same, over protective self. The only difference is that he isn’t twenty-eight anymore.
‘She doesn’t know,’ I admitted as I looked to the floor.
‘How could you just leave her?’ My dad asked as he hugged me again.
‘Because I hate her,’ I mumbled as I hugged my dad back.
‘You’re just saying that, you’ll love her and miss her sooner or later and then you’ll leave back to America,’ my dad wailed into my shoulder.
‘No I won’t. I’m never going back; if we do she will kill us. You do know that she put both me and Jesse into hospital. She attacked me and she stabbed Jesse,’ I sobbed, it was a mixture of happiness and sadness.
‘What? Are you both okay? Please tell me you’re joking,’ my dad pleaded. I held my arm out to show my dad the scar which my mom had made after she threw a glass at me. ‘My princess, how did that happen?’
‘Mom did it. You should see Jesse, he is covered in them,’ I said as I held onto my dad tightly.
‘Where is your brother anyway?’ My dad asked I was right when I said he had ignored Harvey.
‘He went to apologise to Prince Charles,’ I answered.
‘Why?’ My dad asked clueless to the fact he had been to America and met us.
‘Because when he came to America Jesse said some pretty horrible things to him. He’s the reason we found you though because you were on some photos with Charles,’ I explained as I continued to hold onto my dad as he stood up.
‘Wait a minute. Charles was telling me about a guy he met in America. He said that he liked him a lot but the guy didn’t like him back. It was something about a gay-to-straight camp. Was that Jesse?’ my dad asked. I nodded my head then smirked. ‘Your brothers gay?’ My dad questioned as he raised his eyebrow then looked at me which made me laugh.
‘Apparently, but only for Charles. At least that’s what he told me,’ I admitted before giggling. I was so happy just to have my dad back.
Charles’s POV
‘I can’t believe that Jesse is actually here in Driftwood, and he’ll probably be staying,’ I said excitedly to Geoffrey as I bit my pillow whilst trying to hide a large smile which was giving me mouth ache.
‘I’ve never seen you like this Charles,’ Geoffrey answered as he played with my phone. I liked it when we had conversations like this because it felt like I was a normal teenager and not a prince.
‘You don’t understand how happy I am,’ I answered as I laughed. ‘He kissed me,’ I admitted as I smiled and the warm feeling filled my belly once again. My happiness got ruined when Clarissa, Geoffrey’s twenty-three year old sister barged into my bedroom.
‘Jesse has been taken!’

Oh yeah, a twist!
So I uploaded early! I decided it will be easier this way just incase I can't upload on Thursday. T is a poop and got a virus on her computer which is affecting her internet so she is going to take everything off it and start over. Getting to the point; I uploaded this chapter today because where I have saved my writing will be deleted off and T needs to put it back on before I can re-write it all. Okay, have a good rest of the week. It's Christmas soon! YES! -ALEX!
