Chapter 6
Charles’s POV
Geoffrey and Callie were bouncing childishly on Geoffrey’s bed whilst I struggled to pull my black, formal shoes onto my feet.
‘Charles am I going with you before school or should I go with Callie?’ Geoffrey asked as he jumped off the bed and landed in front of me whilst adjusting his red and blue plaid shirt.
‘You can go with Callie, I’ll be in school by lunch anyway,’ I decided as I stomped on the floor so my foot was sitting comfortably in the shoe. ‘Anyway Chandler and Vincent will be coming back here after, they are staying for a few days before they go to Los Vegas.’ Vincent is Chandler’s butler and Geoffrey’s cousin; I think it’s like a family thing for them to work at the palace.
‘Jesse is coming round here after school you know so make sure Vincent and Chandler know that,’ Geoffrey informed. I nodded my head. ‘Callie’s in your lesson before lunch anyway so you can meet me, right?’ I nodded again.
‘Right I’m gonna go now, so bye,’ I mumbled as I stood up from the bed then headed to the door. ‘Geoff can you take my bag with you to school? I don’t fancy going to see Chandler in these clothes with a huge rucksack,’ I asked as I smiled at Geoffrey politely.
‘Sure, see you in a bit,’ Geoffrey laughed as Callie jumped of the bed and landed on Geoffrey’s back and her feet crashed on the floor. ‘If you drop it isn’t my fault,’ I heard Geoffrey say to Callie as I shut the door, with a final wave, then began walking to the stairs.
‘Charles, do you want me to drop you off?’ Victoria asked as she walked out of her bedroom in a black dress. I think she had some important meeting at her work place or something. I’m not sure.
‘Yes please, if that’s okay that is,’ I said as I began walking down the stairs whilst Victoria walked behind me whilst trying to put her black stilettos on. ‘Is it weird that I’m nervous about seeing Chandler?’ I questioned Victoria as I turned to face her whilst turning round the corner of the stairs and heading to the kitchen where Daniel was cutting up an orange.
‘Not at all, I mean you have gone from seeing him every single day to not seeing him once in two weeks. I’m sure that when you actually get there you will be perfectly fine. It’ll be like you never left,’ Victoria said comfortingly. I nodded then began chewing on my bottom lip.
-
I sat in Victoria’s car at the front of the hotel which Chandler was staying in. There were a few people stood outside of the doors of the hotel but only about twenty which wasn’t too bad.
Leonardo, one of our security guards, could easily be seen stood in front of the door blocking everyone away.
‘Victoria, can you come with me please? I mean I’m a little scared of going out there alone,’ I muttered honestly as I fiddled with my fingers on my legs. I loosened my red tie and then opened the top button of my white buttoned shirt.
‘Come on then Char, I have a meeting I need to be at soon,’ Victoria informed as she began picking her black purse up then opened the door of the car.
None of the paparazzi turned around which was good. I quickly opened the door then stood out the car quietly. Leonardo noticed me instantly and quickly rushed over to me whilst the crowd followed him.
‘Prince Charles, how have you been? And nice to see you again Vicky, long time no see,’ Leonardo said as he laughed a deep, Santa-like laugh. To be honest, Leonardo looked a little like Santa except his hair was brown, almost black, and not white.
‘I’ve been good,’ I answered casually as I watched the paparazzi coming closer towards me.
There was someone stood in the crowd that I was sure I recognised. It was a small girl who was waving her camera around and snapping random photos. She had mousey brown, straight hair which was about shoulder length long and rather large green eyes.
‘Prince can you please hurry inside, you too Vicky,’ Leonardo decided. I kept glancing at the girl who was smirking a mocking smirk. I quickly shook it off as soon as we entered the hotel and Vince was stood at the bottom of a long stair case. Quickly, I flashed Vince a smile as I grabbed Victoria’s hand then began pulling her towards Vince.
‘Hello Prince Charles, your brother is waiting for you in room number 92. I can show you and your friend there now if you like. I need to go and see him anyway,’ Vincent said in a posh tone. I smiled at him then nodded. Vince began walking up the stairs to an elevator and Victoria gave me a reassuring smile.
I stood back as Vince knocked on the hotel room door. ‘Who is it?’ I heard Chandler voice come from the other side.
‘It’s me Prince, I have your brother and a friend here,’ Vincent began as he stood close to the door.
‘Come in then please,’ Chandler responded. Vincent nodded to us both then pushed the door open. I glanced at Victoria and then we both entered the room. I was still holding onto Victoria’s hand as we walked in. ‘Bro, check you out!’ Chandler shouted as he tried to sound as chavy as possible.
‘Chandler, how are you doing?’ I responded as I let go of Victoria’s hand then ran to Chandler and practically jumped onto him then wrapped my arms around his neck. Chandler stumbled a little but then stood up straight whilst continuing to hug me.
‘I’m doing good Charlie-boy. Be careful though because I’m still getting use to this stupid thing,’ Chandler said with a grin as he tapped the prosthetic leg which joint at his knee.
Six months ago Chandler was in a car accident, he lost his leg whilst trying to protect my younger sister. Just a month ago he got the prosthetic leg and now he's trying to adjust to it.
‘No way,’ Chandler gasped before laughing as he walked over to Victoria before pulling her into a tight embrace.
‘How have you been, Chandler?’ Victoria questioned, she looked like she needed to breath whilst continuing to rub circles on his back.
‘I'm doing well, what about you Victoria? How long has it been now? 9 years?’ Chandler questioned as he walked slowly to the large bed in the centre of his hotel room.
’10 years next month, I’m well anyway. Your brother has been the perfect house guest,’ Victoria said with a smile. I laughed a little as I watched Vincent standing in the doorway.
‘Anyway, what happened with your face?’ Chandler laughed as he looked at me. ‘I was supposed to ask you one of those times when I rung because when Geoff was telling me he didn’t really make too much sense,’ Chandler continued.
‘Pretty much, this guy didn’t like me because he thought I was dating Callie. He went all weird and attacked me outside this party thing where everyone was drinking and stuff. The Geoffrey saw and he came and punched the guy in the face. It’s okay now though because me and Jesse are friends again I guess,’ I responded trying to make things as simple as possible.
Chandler just nodded however his face looked completely confused, he decided not to press the subject any further.
‘Where is Geoffrey anyway? I’ve missed that goon.’
‘He went to school with Callie, I told him I’d be okay to come here alone but now thinking about it I need someone to take me back to school,’ I mentioned as I continued to chew my lip.
‘Well Oscar is somewhere, he can always take you,’ Vincent commented, Oscar is Chandler's driver. I nodded then smiled at Vincent.
‘Anyway, Victoria you can leave now if you like. I’m going to convince Chandler to come back to your's later on anyway so then Callie can meet him and Geoffrey wants to speak to him,’ I decided as I plonked onto the bed beside Chandler. The bed was so padded that I nearly fell off, but I gained my balance quickly.
Victoria quickly walked over and gave Chandler another hug before proceeding to leave whilst waving back and then getting taken with Vincent.
‘So how’s life been at home? Is mother any better?’ I asked as I kicked my shoes off then crossed my legs on the bed as though Chandler and I were going to have a huge gossip session.
‘She’s getting there I guess. Her tumour is almost completely gone and she is back on her feet. In fact she has a meeting later on in the week. You’ve only been gone two week Char, I doubt to much has changed,’ Chandler said as he smirked and I waited for the question to be asked. ‘So...have you found what you came looking for?’
I shook my head whilst sighing. ‘I have to tell you something, you’re my brother and I tell you anything. Just promise me something Chandler, please?’ I pleaded as I put my hands like I was about to pray.
‘What is it? Have you like started dating someone like 30 years older than you? Or younger than you?’ Chandler asked suspiciously.
‘No, it’s nothing like that Chan. Will you love me all the same if I tell you? And do you promise not to tell anyone?’ I begged as I felt myself struggling to breathe. It felt as if my throat was clogging up and that I would faint any second.
‘Don’t make me do one of those stupid speeches. Yes Char I love you, yes I will always love you know matter what happens. I also promise not to tell anyone,’ Chandler said morbidly and then finished with a sheepish smile. ‘Now are you going to get to the point quickly because you look as though you’re about to throw up so if you are, please go to the bathroom now,’ Chandler continued casually as he lay back on the bed.
I took large breaths before finally speaking. ‘I think I might be gay,’ I murmured under my breath. A awkward silence filled the room until Vincent burst through the door.
‘The limousine awaits Prince Chandler. Prince Charles, if you would like to come also so you can get dropped off at High School,’ Vincent said boldly, he sounded a lot like Geoffrey. ‘You may need to hurry though because we are going to be late if not.’ I nodded my head signalling for Vincent to leave. He nodded back before leaving the room and then the awkward silence returned.
‘Chandler please...’ I wailed as I looked at him as he stared at the ceiling.
‘You’re an idiot you know that?’ Chandler muttered randomly. ‘I don’t care who you love to be honest Char. As long as you’re happy that’s all that matters right? That’s what mother taught us when we was young. You’re still the same Charles you’ve always been to me. No one can judge you for being you,’ Chandler said plainly as he pushed himself up then rested his arm on my shoulder. ‘Now hurry up and put your shoes on or we’ll be late.'
-
I tripped out of the limousine and waved to Chandler as he smiled at me.
A little crowd of paparazzi gathered around the school courtyard but Leonardo blocked anyone from getting close to me as he stretched his arms our around me and cleared a path to the school entrance. The entire school yard was empty and quiet which was good because nobody would recognise me.
I cover my head from anyone peeping through windows to try and get a look at all the commotion.
‘I’ll be okay from here,’ I said to Leonardo as I opened the door then walked inside the school and shut the door behind me. Leonardo nodded his head as he bowed slightly before standing in front of the door to stop the paparazzi getting.
Quickly, I ran down the hall trying to block all the windows from my face until I reached my maths classroom.
As soon as I got there I knocked on the door quietly before pushing it open and walking in. Mr Andrews turned from the board and looked at me. ‘Charles, nice for you to turn up. Do you fancy telling me where you’ve been after lesson?’ Mr Andrews asked as he wrote some sums on the board.
‘Sure,’ I said quietly as I walked over to my seat beside Callie then sat down.
‘Looks like the guy in the suit changed from Geoffrey to Charles,’ Jesse laughed and the whole class joined in. I just sent him a “shut the hell up” look then looked back towards the board before taking a sheet of paper and pen from Callie then scribbling my name and the date down.
I could feel Callie’s eyes on me before she asked, ‘how was your meet up?’
‘It was good, your mother has agreed for Chandler to come over a little after school and once he’s finished the meeting,’ I explained to Callie as I began answering the easier questions. ‘What is 9 times 7?’ I asked dumbly as I looked at the board then bit my pen.
’63. What happened when you met up with Chandler; did you tell him?’ Callie asked as she watched me writing. I just nodded then continued to write not really wanting to speak about the awkwardness.
‘Anyway, I will still have to marry a girl when I get home. There is no way on Earth that my mother shell allow or except me being a homosexual so I might as well not tell her,’ I grumbled as I wrote in fancy palace writing, my name, all over the paper which had my maths work on. ‘I need to go find Geoffrey, he has my bag,’ I muttered as I was about to stand up but Callie held onto my shirt making me stop in mid-stance. ‘Get of my shirt,’ I grunted as I tried to reach my arm around my back to pull her off me.
‘You aren’t going anywhere. Soon people will start getting suspicious and start asking questions about why you keep walking out. What am I going to say? Oh yeah, Charles is the Prince of an Island so he doesn’t have rules?’ Callie nagged.
I sighed loudly then dropped back into my seat and began writing my name again.
Finally it was lunch break. As soon as the bell rang I sprung from my seat and was first out the door without being dismissed. I began walking in the direction of the auditorium where Geoffrey had agreed on meeting me and Callie.
When I got there he was already waiting with a comforting smile and my backpack in his hand. I quickly took it of him when I got to him and put it onto my back making my formal outfit look a little, less formal?
‘So how was it; did Chandler say anything?’ Geoffrey asked as we waited for Callie who was obviously still in lesson like the rest of my class.
‘He said he still loves me and he promised not to tell anyone,’ I said in a almost whisper. ‘I’m still so scared though.’
‘Why? You have Chandler; you have me and Callie. I’m sure no one in Driftwood will mind beside you’re the Prince so either way they will have to accept you,’ Geoffrey began but I cut him off.
‘I’m not telling anyone in Driftwood and you best not either,’ I interrupted. ‘This is something that stays between you, me, Callie and Chandler; no one else. When we go home no one can find this out. I don’t need my Island dealing with this especially seen as they are trying to get over mother's tumor still,’ I hissed as I began walking down the hall when I could see Callie walking towards us.
‘Tell him Callie,’ Geoffrey said as soon as we got to Callie. ‘Tell him to tell Driftwood Island and that everyone will love him all the same.’
‘Geoffrey be quiet please, I don’t need the school to know do I? I've had enough arguments with Jesse over this stupid thing. I’m not telling the Island because not everyone is as accepting as you,’ I butted in as we head in the direction to the cafeteria.
Callie was having some weird chat with her friends whilst Geoffrey and I spoke to David and Aaron, the twins from the football team.
Someone tapped on my shoulder. Both Geoffrey and I turned our head at matching times to see a blonde haired, blue eyed Louisa. ‘Is it true then?’ those were the first words which left Louisa lips as she reached the table. Everyone looked at Louisa with confused faces.
‘Is what true?’ I asked almost as confused as everyone else.
‘Jesse told me,’ Louisa said as she sat down beside me then crossed her leg over her lap and crossed both her arms. ‘You gay aren’t you? Don’t worry if you are, it means we can go shopping and talk cute guys,’ Louisa began to speak; yeah babe, in your dreams...
‘No it isn’t true,’ I lied as I looked at Louisa. ‘Now where is Jesse?’ I asked as I stood up and Geoffrey copied me.
‘Round the back of school. I doubt it’s a good idea to go round there dressed like that,’ Louisa said as she eyed my clothes.
‘I don’t care,’ I admitted as I began walking to the back entrance of the cafeteria with Louisa and Geoffrey behind me.
The back of school was nothing like the rest of school. Sure it was just as morbid and boring but it just looked ten times worse. Everyone round there was dressed in grubby clothes and each person held either a cigarette or a glass bottle in their hand.
I could see Jesse stood in one of the larger groups’ right at the far side of the group. Geoffrey walked beside me with his fist clenched as people looked at us with stoned looks.
It was actually pretty scary round there. The concrete slabs were cover in multicoloured chewing gum and spit which was absolutely disgusting. I treaded carefully as I tried to avoid any spit getting onto my newly polished shoes.
‘Charles are you sure you don’t want to wait back there and I’ll go fetch Jesse?’ Geoffrey asked nervously.
‘Its fine, I can take care of myself Geoffrey. I’m not completely incapable,’ I stated. ‘Now let’s just hurry up, fetch Jesse and leave,’ I urged. Geoffrey nodded then stood in front of me and began pushing past the other people.
They all gave us death glares but I just looked at the floor whilst still trying to avoid all the gross things on the floor.
‘Jesse,’ Geoffrey shouted as we got closer. I could see straight away that Jesse had his arms wrapped around some girl’s waist. It was a girl I didn’t really know but she was in my Chemistry. I think her name is something like Anika or Anita.
‘What do you want posh boy?’ Jesse yelled as he kissed the brown haired girl who was clung onto Jesse.
‘Don’t call me posh boy,’ I commanded. Jesse just laughed. ‘Anyway I need to speak to you,’ I said as I looked at Jesse whilst trying not to get distracted by the girl.
‘I don’t think that’s a good idea Charles. You see it my ruin my rep if I’m seen with a nancy boy,’ Jesse said with a grin as he high5ed this boy. Okay that didn’t offend me; maybe it’s because I don’t exactly know what a nancy boy is?
‘Jesse either you come with us now, don’t you remember the whole incident at the party?’ Geoffrey added. Jesse eyes instantly opened wider and he stubbed his cigarette out on the orange brick wall.
‘Right babe, I’ll be back in a bit,’ Jesse decided as he kissed the girl on the forehead whilst releasing his arms from around her.
Jesse and I followed Geoffrey around the school and to the front parking lot which was empty of students but full of cars. ‘So what’s this all about?’ I asked as I rested on a random car which probably had an alarm which would go of any second.
‘What’s what all about?’ Jesse asked with a smirk as he tried to act clueless.
‘Jesse don’t play dumb and answer Charles’s question,’ Geoffrey insisted as he looked at Jesse with a frown. ‘Why are you telling everyone he’s gay?’
‘Well its true isn’t it; I don’t want people to think that I enjoy hanging around with this homo. First I have to work with him three times a week for two weeks, including tonight, and then I even have to speak to him at school. Sorry to break it to you Charles but I’m not one of you,’ Jesse said with a smirk on his face the entire time.
I was actually speechless, why should I get spoken to like that by anyone let alone some weirdo from a high school I’ve only been to for two weeks.
‘Still Jesse, this isn’t your stuff to spread. If you don’t know I have a family as well. If my family find this out then I don’t know what will happen,’ I muttered.
‘Dude, to be completely honest I don’t care about your stupid sob story. You live on some perfect island with your friend who does pretty much everything for you. You always come to school looking perfect. Compared to me you’ve probably got a better life then I could even imagine,’ Jesse snapped before turning around and storming off back around the back of school.
-
School had finished and everyone was at Callie’s house. As soon as we arrived I realised that the limousine was outside which meant Chandler was already going to be in the house.
Leonardo was sleeping in the front of the limousine which was pretty funny. As soon as Geoffrey saw him he practically shot over to him then banged on the window. ‘Geoffrey, son,’ Leonardo said in his deep voice as he rolled the window out then ruffled Geoffrey’s hair. ‘Prince, your brother is waiting inside,’ Leonardo said completely forgetting this secret thing.
‘Prince?’ Jesse questioned confused.
‘An old nickname, when I was little I use to be spoilt so I got the nickname Prince,’ I said with a laugh as I sent Leonardo a look before walking to the house beside Callie who was fascinated by the limousine.
‘Vincent!’ Geoffrey shouted as he ran through the house to his cousin then hugged him.
Chandler struggled up from the kitchen chair trying to grab his crutches which meant he didn’t have his prosthetic leg on.
‘Prince Chandler, how are you doing sir?’ Geoffrey said as he bowed whilst letting go of Vince. I quickly looked at Jesse who was looking even more confused.
‘I’m doing well thank you Geoffrey,’ Chandler said as he struggled to bow a little whilst holding onto his crutches. For some reason Chandler always copied the butlers because he thought it’s classed as being polite. ‘How has my favourite little brother been at school then?’ Chandler asked in a teasing voice.
‘Erm...’ Jesse mumbled behind me. ‘Isn’t it kind of strange that both of you have the same nickname?’ Jesse asked.
‘What are you on about?’ Chandler asked as he limped over to Jesse then lent on the counter.
‘Well Charles was telling me that Prince was his nickname because he was spoilt. It’s hardly a nickname if you both are called Prince,’ Jesse continued. Chandler just nodded obviously confused.
‘Anyway, Geoffrey have you been looking after my little brother like a real-’
‘Friend,’ I cut in stopping Chandler from saying butler. ‘Yep, he has been awesome.’
‘Good, I’ll make sure mother gives you higher wage.’ I actually wanted to hit myself in the face with a brick.
‘Right I’m confused,’ Jesse stated as he stepped back in the kitchen. ‘What is actually going on?’
‘My brother wanted to come see me for a little before he goes to Vegas with Vincent for a week. He has an important business meeting,’ I said quickly wanting to stop Chandler from speaking.
‘Business meeting. I guess it is a business meeting, I mean I have to spend five boring hours with the President of the United States in five days,’ Chandler began which made me want to smack him in the face with a brick as well.
‘If you don’t mind me asking, how old are you exactly?’
‘Nineteen.’
‘Why are you going to meet the President then?’ Jesse asked as he watched Chandler curiously.
‘Because it’s my duty,’ Chandler said stupidly.
‘Okay enough about Chandler, how about we practise this play?’ Callie said smartly.
‘A play, I love plays,’ Chandler began.
‘I don’t care, you’re staying put. I’ll see you in a bit,’ I mumbled as I walked towards the stairs. My entire body was shaking as I thought about Jesse finding out about me, he already hates me as it is.

T here! <3
So basically Alex asked me to write another part for him because he said he had writers block so I needed to put something for him to work on...
Sorry that this doesn't explain or say much but I didn't want to start something off if Alex couldn't finish it. That's why the chapter ended like this and not with a bunch of questions.
I also wanted to sort of speed things up a tiny bit because if not this story would still be going nowhere. Yeah so thanks for reading.
-Love T!
P.S. I STARTED EDITING THIS FOR ALEX! FINALLY! (Well that was a lie)
