Dylan ------->
~Carson’s POV~
“Hey, um little Ruby, wake up.” I say while gently nudging him.
“Hmm, huh? Where I’m I?” He questions, while sitting up from the guest bed. His voice cracked too. Probably from all that screaming.
“Um, you’re at my house. Ruby you slept over. Right after you fainted.” I say sheepishly. Waiting for his reaction.
He jumps up, and tries to get out of bed, but his legs give up on him and he falls on the ground. Then he instantly tries to balance on something, but it doesn’t work either.
So I hold him, and tell him to just hold onto me, so he doesn’t fall again.
He jerks his body away from mine, and lands on the bed again.
I sigh, and ask him if he’s okay. No response from him, but he’s trembling, and looks about he’s about to cry.
No! Don’t cry! I won’t forgive myself if you cry. Your tears, will make me feel useless and unworthy, I don’t know why? But I know it will.
But he holds it in, and looks at me, with sky blue eyes. He’s trembling uncontrollably, trying hard to say something to me.
“Why I’m I here? And don’t touch me.” He responds weakly, but with seriousness.
“Well, after you fainted, I brought you here. I couldn’t take you home, because no one was at home, at that time.” I answered honestly.
“Look, Ruby. I’m really sorry, can you ever forgive me? I know I went too far, but please don’t give me that expression.” I apologize, and trying to reach out to him and wanted to hold him.
“I said don’t t-t-touch me, Just take me home.” Ruby whines.
He looks away, and holds himself in a shape of a ball on the bed. I can see the bruises I left, and it reminds me of how cruel I can be.
I definitely went too far, and I just couldn’t control my temper at all. I don’t know what Ruby does to me, but he just makes me lose my cool.
“Alright. Are you able to stand on your own?” I ask worriedly.
He didn’t answer back, but was already up, I knew he was in pain. He just kept on walking like it was nothing, and getting his things, so he can go home.
I walk him to my car, and open his door for him. While, I do that I apologize again.
I went inside the car, and started to drive, and the whole time in the car, it was dead silent.
When we reached his home, I was going to walk him to his house, but he told me to just leave.
I said bye, and apologized again. Driving away, and hoping I don’t do anything else stupid.
~Ruby POV~
When I got inside my house, I hear my mom shout from the living room.
“Reuben, is that you? Honey, where were you? I was worried sick!”
“I just stayed over a friend’s place, mom. Don’t worry.” I assure her.
“Next time you should call me, if you’re going to do that. I almost had a heart attack!” she reply.
“Okay mom, I’m sorry.” I say humbly. And walk up to my room. I just want to lay down and stay home.
“Reuben are you okay? You don’t look so good.” Mom asked, concerned.
“I’m fine, I just want to stay home. Okay, mom.” I say.
“Alright, just ask me if you need anything.” She says.
I was already in my room, and it’s about 7:30 (a.m.). I landed on my bed, and closed my eyes, and instantly.
Carson’s head pops in my vision. Oh great (sarcasm), now I can’t sleep.
I sit up, and my phone rings, and I pick it up. I check the caller ID, and it’s Lizzie calling.
“Hello.” I greet in a tired tone.
“Hey! Rubs. Morning, almost ready for school? Today, is me and you day, okay? And no one is going to get in our way.” Lizzie declares.
“Sorry Lizzie, but I’m not going to school today.” I reply.
“Eh, what? Oh no, you’re going to school. Did something happen Rubs?” She says.
“Just something, I don’t want to talk about.” I say not caring. I’m too used to not caring, because if I care it won’t make a difference.
“That’s it! I’m going over in about 5 minutes.” She announces.
I hang up. And get up from my bed.
Well, might as well get up, and go to school. Even though my body is killing me.
I was already, and prepared for another day school. It took me exactly 12 minutes.
Lizzie arrives, and greets me with a hug.
“See, I told you we’re going to school today. And we have a lot to catch up on.” Lizzie says.
“I do miss you Lizzie.” I reply.
“And that’s why it’s us day. Oh! Did you hear that you there’s a new student coming today?” Lizzie says, too excited.
“No, I haven’t Lizzie.” I reply, while we walk to her car. I haven’t driven my car in a while. I miss my buddy!
“Well, I heard it’s a boy, and he’s hot. I hope we can become friends.” She claimed.
“Okay.” I respond, not caring one bit.
We were already at school, and heading to our lockers.
I say hi to Marissa. I seriously only have two friends at this school. It’s not my fault, it seems like they try to avoid me. When I try to act socially, it doesn’t make any difference.
It’s like whenever people at school are around me, they start to act nervous. As if, they’s get punished if they go near me, it’s just really suspicious. I’ll probably find out later.
Marissa and Lizzie are the only people I really talk to, and it’s not fair!
I have everything ready for my first period class, and I hug Marissa and Lizzie goodbye.
I walk in the classroom, and it’s quiet. Mmm, it’s never quiet. I quickly walk to my desk, and sit down.
Mr. Bradley walks in, and greets the class like usual. It seems like everyone is waiting for something.
“I bet everyone already know, that there is a new student that will be attending this school.” He announces.
And right after he said that, a boy walks in, and looks really excited. He has shaggy blonde hair, and is a typical surfer boy. With the perfect tan, and tall (well everyone is tall to me), and with clear sea blue eyes.
“Hah! Just on time boy! Introduce yourself to the class.” Mr. Bradley says.
Wait! I didn’t introduce myself on my first day of school, well, I guess there were reasons.
“Hi! Guys my name is Dylan. I love to surf, and love comic books. And I’m Bi.” When he finished, all the girls giggled, and he winked at me when he said that last sentence.
Huh! Wait, why did he wink at me?
I then hear Carson growl daringly, Dylan looks at him, and smirks. Mr. Bradley clears his throat, to interrupt our little scene.
“So, Dylan why don’t you sit behind Mr. Blackwell.”
I feel drama coming, but I hope I don’t get in any drama, at least for the rest of the school year.
Before I knew it, it was already lunch time.
I was going to the bathroom. But I bumped into……Dylan?
“Oh hey! You’re Reuben, right?” Dylan says.
“Umm….yeah.” I reply.
“Wow, you’re even cuter up close. I hope we can become friends. Hey, do you mind if you….you know show me around the school. I don’t want to get lost in this huge school.” He declares.
“Heh! It’ll be torture to get lost in this school. I’ll show you around, and I hope we do become friends too!” I say while smiling.
I continue, “Um, let me see your schedule.” Right, after I said that the bell rings, and I look at his schedule as we walk.
“Oh! You have fifth period with me, Latin class. Well, it seems like we have a lot of classes together. I’ll be your guide, until you get used to your schedule.” I finished, while being polite, looking at him waiting for him to say something.
“To have such a cute guide, makes me happy, you know? Do whatever you need to do, I’m okay with it.” Dylan says, while grinning.
I ignore all the unnecessary compliments, of course, and we reach our fifth period class.
Carson sees us walk in together, and as a furious and suspicious look on his face, but I ignore him.
He knows that I’m not ready to approach him or talk to him (like I even do anyways). Dylan takes his seat, next to me and says something that makes me laugh.
I guess Carson sees that, and glares at Dylan. Dylan doesn’t take notice of him, and we continue to have a conversation.
Carson was calling me, but I ignore him. I don’t pay attention to him at all. It’s getting to him, but he can’t do anything this time, because he doesn’t deserve my attention, and he knows it.
~Ring!~ End of school ring.
I can’t wait until I hang out with my friends. It’s my own decision, if I want to hang out with my friends or not. No one isn’t telling me what to do, or running all over me (so suck it Carson!).
“Time to go to the movies!” Lizzie shouts really loud. I try to calm her down. Sometimes she really is too hyper for her own good.
Out of nowhere, Dylan pops up, and asks “Can I join?”
I reply “Oh yeah, sure!”
Lizzie calms down, and faces Dylan, eyes beaming with hope.
To make the situation less awkward. I drag Dylan and Lizzie to Lizzie’s car. After the movies ( which was a comedy), we drop of Dylan at his house. Dylan is pretty cool, we actually have a lot of things in common too!
I never had a guy friend, but I’m glad I made a friend at least.
I’m staying over Lizzie’s, so we catch up on things, and I’m glad I'm able to do that.
Lizzie does lift up my spirits, and she’s a girl that understands me. I hope my day tomorrow will be better, than yesterday. ~Rewind~ I should just stop wishing for things, because it doesn’t work out anyways.
