Enjoy the last (longass) chapter :3
-----------
Klaus had to bite his nails. It was a nervous tic, of course, and for the last three days he was nothing but nervous as he drowned in worry for his villain.
He felt the way he did back in the days his father used to force him wear gloves in order to stop biting his nails, gesture which his dad considered unacceptable. Problem is, now he can't just chew the straitjacket to reach the nails, the way he used to do with the gloves...
With a sigh, he hit his head against the pillowed wall behind him before letting it bounce repeatedly. How did the villain manage to bear through 9 years of this, the hero couldn't understand. To sit in a white room for hours and hours with nothing to do...
He didn't consider himself to be nuts, but the immobility and lack of occupation sure did things to his head. Klaus had a few fits since he got in the mental hospital, almost having killed a few workers in the process. But now, he just alternated between feeling bored, annoyed and worried.
Maybe that was what they were aiming for in the first place, with the whole 'two weeks before leaving the room' thing. It must be their plan of turning the patients' brains into jelly so they would be easier to deal with afterwards.
The hero got on his feet, stretching his legs carefully before jumping a bit to put his muscles back to work. He then walked to the big, thick window, looking at the empty room across him, where Venom is bound to stay as soon as he heals.
Klaus rested his head on the glass, shamelessly staring as random patients and nurses walked around. The patients moved zombie-like, their gazes lost and empty, except for one specific person, who was then approaching him.
Megan stopped in front of him, grinning teasingly at the locked man before her. Disturbingly enough, she didn't seem the least surprised to see the hero in a cell room of the mental hospital. They held eye contact in an involuntary staring contest, one of the girl's eyes twitching occasionally. Lost in the gaze, Klaus stumbled back startled when the door suddenly opened.
Josh entered the room, a grin on his face and a bag in his hand. "You two seem to be getting along well." he chuckled, the grin fading a little when he took a look at the expression on Megan's face, her painfully big smile sending shivers up his spine. And not he good sort of shivers.
Klaus sighed in relief, happy to finally have some sort of distraction. "I thought the visiting was only allowed in two weeks..." he exclaimed, shooting Megan a 'go away' look before sitting down, back leaning on the wall. Josh joined him after the guards locked the door, eyes following Megan's retreating figure from behind the window.
"Please, I'm a detective. A badge can do wonders." he explained to the hero, reaching in the bag to take out a Coca Cola can. "Now, say 'aaah'." he teased, to which Klaus shot a glare, but sipped from the can nonetheless.
Klaus frowned when the taste of beer blessed his mouth. For a moment, he thought he was hallucinating, the hospital's atmosphere probably having gotten to him. But, judging by the mischievous look on the detective's face, he then knew he wasn't. "Did you seriously put beer in a coke can to sneakily drunken a patient? You're a horrible detective!" he exclaimed, laughing.
"Horrible detective? I managed to catch you and your walking corpse, didn't I?" Josh spoke victoriously, before offering him more of the drink. "Oh, just so you know, there's also ecstasy in this drink. Figured you could use some fun in this place." he added, making the hero almost choke.
"Ecstasy?" he shrieked before laughing hysterically. "This is priceless! You're like, the best friend one could ask for." the hero admired honestly, pecking his cheek, to which Josh chuckled. Out of the blue, Klaus then gasped. "Are you trying to have your way with me?" he accused, the grin never leaving his face.
"I wouldn't drug you to do such thing." Josh deadpanned. "It's just the only drug I found in my flat that would make your sitting here less miserable." he said, before once again bringing the can to his friend's lips, watching his silly face as he drank. His eyes were both watching the can in a crossed position, the sight making Josh giggle. "Oh, and Venom is healed. They'll take him to his room any second now."
At hearing that, the hero stopped drinking, turning his head to look at the detective shocked. "And you chose this day to drug me? We didn't see for days, and his first sight of me will involve me humping the damn wall!" he whined, then shoved his head against Josh's shoulder in what he struggled to make a violent push.
"Calm down, he's on sleeping pills." Josh laughed after regaining his balance. "By the time he'll wake up, you'll be fresh and sober like a flower in the morning." the detective joked, wiping some beer of his friend's chin before patting his cheek. He then looked up in time to see the guards carrying the villain in his room. Following his gaze, the hero got up on his feet, stumbling eagerly to the window which he then pressed his face against.
He watched mesmerized Venom's sleeping body as it lied in the middle of the floor, curled in a little ball. Klaus's breath got faster until he was straight up panting in need, the air leaving his mouth steaming the window and slowly blocking his view.
"Isn't he beautiful?" he whispered, a proud smile on his face.
Josh watched his blushing friend, whose dilated pupils were gazing adoringly at the villain. He was happy for him. With a pat on the hero's back, Josh nodded. "Yes, he is." he murmured amused.
Raising the sleeve of his coat, he checked the watch, sighing. "I must go home before my lady worries, Swartzendaisy. Have fun." he laughed, leaving when his friend nodded. The guard unlocked the door, confused eyes glued on the figure of the panting patient in the room.
The hero felt better the number he got, until his mind and body broke any link. He slowly slid down the wall, his view of the villain disappearing as he slumped down on the ground. Thanks to his beloved friend's drug, he managed to finally loose track of time for once.
The whiteness of the walls slowly turned into indecipherable alternating colours, and the silence that used to deafen him turned into a familiar humming he recognised as the villain's. The auditive hallucination sent his mind back to the pleasurable nights he spent with Venom, and -unaware of his movements- he slowly started grinding against the pillowed floor.
At one point, the door opened. He rolled around to get view access to the intruder, every motion like a haze. A guard stared back at him dumbfounded, a nurse right behind him. "The guy in the monitors room said this one was acting weird, Manuela..." the nameless man murmured to the lady behind him, who looked tired and unfazed.
"It's a mental hospital, what'd he expect..." she sighed, leaning to get a better look. "I'll go get the sleeping drug". she said with a shrug, then walked away, leaving the guard standing there dumbfounded.
Klaus, at processing the door was open, managed to get on his feet and run out the room, legs having a mind on their own, before slamming his body against the door of Venom's room. At noticing it didn't open, he was about to try again before arms wrapped around his body, lifting him up easily. He aimlessly moved his legs, giggling uncontrollably as he had the illusion the arms around him were tickling him.
The security man shoved Klaus back in his room, watching confused as he kept laughing. By that point, many people gathered in front of the room. "Why did I choose this job..." the man murmured, face palming.
Klaus later woke up with a stinging sensation in his arm, caused by the injection he was given by the nurse, having contained sleeping drug to put him in his place. His head was throbbing violently, but that was understandable. His body had been on ecstasy and sleeping drug at the same time, which must have screwed around with his system. He would have probably died at the polar opposite combination if he wasn't super-human.
Slowly blinking, he looked up to notice the lights were out, meaning it was night time. That fact urged him to stand up as he realised how much time passed. Eagerly, he looked out the window, flipping the hair out of his eyes so he could focus them on adjusting to the darkness.
He took in a short breath as he noticed the figure in the room across him. Venom was leaning against the window of his own room, facing the hero, but his eyes were closed, a little drool sliding from his lips down the glass, to which Klaus laughed.
"Venom.." he croaked, his throat dry and in need of water. Then again, even if he was to own a megaphone, the other man couldn't hear him seeing as all the rooms were soundproof. Whining in frustration, he started jumping left and right in hopes of somehow getting his attention. Huffing, he hit his head against the glass in desperation.
Venom had been waiting for the hero to wake up for a while now, and he was about to fall asleep. His body, entering unconsciousness, slowly started sliding down the window, and the moment he started falling, he woke up abruptly.
His eyelids felt heavy, and just as he was about to turn around, movements caught his eyes. He risked another glance towards the hero's room, and the sight of him jumping around like a maniac was the last thing he expected. His eyes widened, any trace of sleepiness now erased.
The hero stopped moving, eyeing happily the villain before him. Without much thought, he leaned in to peck the window, grinning as the villain returned the gesture.
And so, they spent the next days glancing at each other, waiting eagerly for the two weeks to pass so they would be allowed to leave the rooms. They managed to communicate by steaming the windows and writing on them with their noses, and the hospital's patients and staff were awed by their relationship.
It was now the last day of the second week, and they were both watching each other with matching widened eyes and plastered grins as they waited for their doors to be unlocked by the guards. The moment they were, the two of them sprinted out of the rooms.
Klaus slammed his body against Venom's, sending them into the wall of the corridor, before connecting their lips in the most hungry, passionate and desired kiss he's experienced. They struggled against the straitjackets, the urge to embrace each other overwhelming them. Seeing as that failed, Venom wrapped his legs around the hero's waist instead, his tongue never escaping Klaus's.
Their moans echoed in the hospital's silence, the people around watching them stunned. Klaus then moved into Venom's room, where he knelt down and shoved the villain against the floor, away from the peoples' view. Sitting up, he took his time in gasping for air, before leaning to bite his lover's pants, tugging them until his legs were fully exposed.
Venom laughed at his eagerness, then mirrored the gesture on the hero's pants, before lying on the floor with his back up. He then raised his hips and arched his back, looking at him over his shoulder. Klaus leaned on top of him, chest pressed against his back, and pecked his cheek repeatedly.
"I told you it would be fine..."
And it was, indeed, fine.
They spent every single day with each other, 'playing' around everywhere they managed, and so becoming a pain in the ass for the cleaning ladies. It wasn't half as bad as Klaus expected, he was actually getting used to the whole life style.
They were currently lying on the grass under a willow tree, its leaves shielding them from the others as if embracing them in a world of their own. Venom's head was on the hero's chest, whose hand was caressing the villain's smooth hair. Klaus was preparing to ask him something that has been on his mind for a while now. As soon as he found his words, he broke the silence.
"Remember when they were bringing you here for the second time? As in, after that exposition happened..." he murmured, to which his lover nodded. "Well... I remember noticing... horns? And you were acting... different."
Venom sighed, shrugging. "It happens when I loose control of myself, which I rarely do. It only happened a few times, but the very first time it did was..." he spoke monotonously, before his voice suddenly turned weaker than the whispering wind. "... was when I killed the other hero..."
"You don't have to talk about it..." Klaus spoke, pushing his curiosity away.
"There's not much to talk about... we were, you know... doing it, and in the heat of the moment I bit him. It was the first time I tasted super human blood so I went all demonic on him."
Klaus pecked his head. "I'm sorry." he said, slightly disturbed at the information. What bothered him more than what he did to a hero was the idea of another man touching his lover.
"There wasn't anything between us, we were just messing around..." Venom added, raising his head to peck his cheek. Klaus nodded, offering a smile. "And worry not, I won't mutilate you. Hopefully." he joked, to which Klaus scoffed.
"You won't get rid of me that easily."
Just then, a nurse approached them. "It's sleeping time, love birds!" she announced.
-------
About three months later, Klaus was in one of his weekly therapy sessions, Venom patiently waiting outside on the couch. Daniel had been fired after having misjudged Venom twice, and the new therapist was now a lady which Klaus managed to build a connection with. Little did she know that the hero was going to take advantage of that.
The hero used his power of detecting emotions on the woman, and he stumbled across an intriguing fact. She was into him.
"Good to see you, Klaus." she spoke, straightening the shirt of her Loft suit. After running a hand through her chestnut, curly hair, she offered a smile before continuing. "When we last spoke, we were talking about your father." she said, to which Klaus nodded. "Now, it is important that you tell me about it. Most cases of mental illnesses are triggered by family matters, because family has the hugest impact on people."
The hero's lips raised in a sad smile, behind which a smirk hid. "Sorry, but... it is sort of personal, Larissa." he spoke swiftly, feeling his chest flatten along with hers as she let a sigh of hope, indicating her emotion.
"Look, you know you can trust me." she tried, offering a nod of encouragement. At hearing the words, the hero officially started the first step of the plan: Gaining trust.
"How am I supposed to fully trust you when you don't trust me?" he asked, echoing the words his lover used on Daniel. "I mean, it should be mutual, but I am tied to a chair as we're speaking, because you don't feel safe enough around me." he continued, watching as her eyes widened in realisation.
"It's... It's the hospital's rules..." Larissa said, playing nervously with her pencil. The hero felt suspicion rise in her, so he hurried to speak.
"No, it's fine, I'm not implying anything. I was just saying." he shrugged, looking away. "But it's been a while since I hugged someone..." added Klaus quietly, holding back a scoff as he felt her heart beat increase.
The therapist stood up, hesitantly approaching his chair. "Just for a minute." Larissa decided eventually, leaning to untie his belt before doing the same to his straitjacket.
The hero stood up, stretching his arms widely as he sighed happily. He then wrapped them around the therapist, hugging her affectionately. Step two of the plan: Escape.
"You seem like a nice person, Larissa... I'm sorry about this."
With that, he snapped her neck, watching as her body hit the ground with a thud. Without as much as a glance towards her, he turned for the door and sprinted out. Once there, he grabbed the proud looking Venom and threw him over his shoulder, before running down the hall and towards the exit.
Step three: Leave the city.
And so, the couple found themselves in a small apartment in a big city, of which the crime rate not so coincidentally increased. The police back in Sunday Town weren't on their tracks anymore, seeing as leaving the city meant they weren't their problem anymore, and in this new one they were unsuspected.
The apartment they lived in was small but expensive, and it had a modest size because of their wish of being as close as possible. Klaus also bought his lover a piano, which Venom had a hard time getting used to seeing its flawless, new state -opposed to his other one-. The hero would often sit next to Venom as he played, Klaus occasionally singing along, having proved to own quite the voice.
The scenery was happening in a specific night, the lovers sitting on the piano's chair, Venom's head on Klaus's shoulder, a loner hand caressing the claps. The hero was biting his nails, looking around to make sure everything was perfect, and it truly was.
The rain was loud and clear behind the curtain dancing in the wind, on the sound of the piano's notes. Occasional lightning cast shadows in the flat, the shapes mirroring trees' slender silhouettes. With a nod of approval, Klaus decided it was the perfect moment.
Gently pushing Venom off of him, he stood up only to then kneel next to the piano chair, grinning at the blank expression on his lover's face. But, as he reached in his pocket, Venom's eyes widened in realisation, and his cheeks visibly turned a deep red. He shook his head frantically, lips involuntarily raising in an honestly happy smile.
Klaus cocked his head to the side, ink black eyes sparkling when another lightning occurred. He raised his arms to present a small black box, which he then opened to reveal a silver ring with a delicate red line in the middle, the ring shinning proudly in the dark.
Step four of the plan: Propose.
"Venom soon-to-be Swartz..." Klaus started, knowing too well the villain hated hearing his own family name for obvious reasons. Licking his lips, he struggled not to bite his nails as he looked up at the man he was bound to spend the rest of his eternity with.
"... will you marry me?" he asked softly, watching amused as Venom pressed his palms against his forehead, laughing nervously. He then looked the hero in the eyes, letting his hands fall by his sides.
The villain struggled to say the word, but all he managed to do was to gape, occasionally letting nervous chuckles escape. When the hero pouted jokingly, teasingly retreating the box, he grabbed his arm, kneeling in front of him as well.
"Yes!" he laughed, muscles twitching in excitement, before leaning to wrap his arms around Klaus's neck. The hero hugged him back tightly, feeling his heart frantically beat against the villain's in a matching pace.
Pulling back, he took his trembling hand in his, sliding the ring on his slender finger, sighing in relief at seeing it fitted. His view on it then vanished when Venom stole his lips in a deep kiss just as a thunder erupted.
"I love you, Kitten." Klaus stated.
"Me too, My Hero."
