"Venom, you almost drowned me back there!" Klaus complained while drying his hair as he sat on the bed. His lover was peeking curiously in the shopping bags, trying to find something to wear.
"Well, if I recall correctly, you told me to keep my hands at home. Not my legs." the villain protested, a frown making its way on his face as he studied the clothes. All he could find were large, non-coloured shirts. Suspiciously enough, all of them lacked top buttons.
"Right, because wrapping your legs around me while I'm underwater couldn't possibly go wrong." the hero commented sarcastically, before eyeing the villain. As he saw the puzzled look on his face, he grinned sheepishly.
Venom pulled on a shirt on, tying all the remaining buttons, and was annoyed to notice they ended just below his collarbone, the size of the shirt leaving most part of his shoulders exposed. The sleeves of it were too long, making him look and feel like a child. Female child. Moving his gaze to the hero, he glared as he saw the guilty look on his face.
"You must be kidding me." he deadpanned, crossing his arms. "Swartz, I am a man. That is the whole idea of homosexual relationships: it involves two men. If you want to hide my lack of breasts and underline my slightly feminine features, go find yourself a woman instead!" snapped the vampire, pulling the shirt off and slamming it to the ground.
"Venom, don't be silly! You just look-" the hero tried, but was interrupted by his lover's short, withheld, high pitched sneeze, which sent Klaus in a fit of laughter. "I told you, you were going to get a cold! Now dress up already and stop overreacting." he scolded, walking to the bags to pick a specific one up, before walking back towards the bed. Before he managed to do so, though, Venom grabbed his arm suspiciously.
"What is in there?" he asked, eyeing the hero. Klaus was in no way going to show him the content after his reactions to the shirts.
"Nothing." the hero hurried to reply, raising the bag out of the other man's reach, who swore could snap at any moment. After aimlessly jumping in attempt to reach his arm, Venom decided to wrap the hero in a koala hug, thus finally managing to reach the bag.
Getting back on his feet, Venom looked inside only to then freeze at the sight, eyes widening as a blush crept on his cheeks. He raised his head to glare at his lover, eye twitching in anger.
"Female. Lingerie." he growled, letting the bag drop to the floor. "Please tell me you bought this for a woman you're cheating me with and not for me."
Klaus ruffled his dark hair, before nervously flipping it away from his eyes. His gaze then fixed on the wall as he wondered what made him think the villain would ever accept wearing such things.
"That's it." Venom deadpanned, straightening up. "I am getting a haircut. A manly haircut. And I'm going to be taking steroids." he announced, slightly grinning at the horrified look on Klaus's face.
"Venom, calm down, I'll just throw the lingerie away and I'll go to your house to get your suits. No need to take drastic decisions." he spoke, raising his arms as if talking to a time bomb.
The villain pretended to be pondering, before he shook his head. "Army style haircut or crest haircut?" he voiced as he rubbed his jaw thoughtfully, struggling to keep back from laughing as Klaus whined. "Or, we could avoid all that, if you accept to bottom for me." he dared, a mischievous grin on his face.
The hero gaped, taking the time to imagine that situation. A scoff left his lips, before he straight up laughed as hard as his lungs managed, the offended look on Venom's face only adding to it. "That.." he struggled to voice between gasps. "...that would be just..." he tried, the sound of his laughter almost covering a knock on the door.
With another glare, Venom walked towards the door, the hero short on his tracks as he tried to calm down. The moment the door was opened, thought, his giggles died instantly.
"Cop Henry, I received complaints on noise pollution. I must ask you to..." the officer spoke, before doing a double take when seeing the men before him.
You see, policeman Henry was an inexperienced guy. In his whole career, all he did was take care of simple situations like these, never once had he done anything more than patrolling or warning troublemakers. So, when he found himself facing the two most wanted men in the city, which a whole crime department struggled to track down, all he could do was gape in shock.
"Uh... This is... warning and I'll go now." he murmured, turning to walk away, before Klaus gripped his shoulder roughly and pulled him inside the apartment.
-------
Venom wiped the blood off his chin, panting as he sat on his knees, above the dead cop. The hero sat on the floor, next to him, through the entire process, watching thoughtfully the way his lover passionately enjoyed the rosy liquid now staining the wooden floor.
"Josh will be too caught up in our case to notice his missing." he murmured absentmindedly, cocking his head.
He could remember the cop from the many times he had been in the police station. No one really payed attention to him, the man was so forgettable. "But eventually, the cop's wife will report it, and after being informed, Josh will instantly ask for the address he'd last been at." he added, standing up and walking towards the bed, on which he then lied down, sighing as he looked out the dusty window. "It will take a few days for the wife to report, though, seeing as he often times spends nights around, so his woman is used to him not returning home. It will take some time for her to figure out something's wrong."
Between the sorrowful looking buildings, the sunset peeked shyly, casting a wave of orange over the apartment, wrapping it in a mysterious, thrilling atmosphere, the dead body on the ground only adding to it as the light reflected in his blood.
"Should we move then?" asked Venom quietly, lips raising in a smirk as he unbuttoned the cop's shirt.
"At one point..." murmured Klaus, eyes closing against his will when the villain started humming, the way he often times would.
By the end of his humming, the villain was fully dressed in the policeman's uniform, gripping the handcuffs tightly so they wouldn't clank as he approached his clueless lover. "Keep your eyes closed..." he whispered in his ear, his free hand gently raising the hero's arms above his head. Klaus frowned curiously, but obeyed nonetheless.
Venom clicked a handcuff around his wrist, bringing the other around a bar of the headboard, before wrapping it around his other wrist. By then, Klaus's eyes were widened in not only surprise, but lust as he noticed what the villain was dressed in. The police hat was too big, tilting to the side a bit and covering his eyes. Whenever it did, Venom used the police bat to push it upwards, the gesture teasing the hero to no end.
Klaus sat up, struggling the arms above his head in despair. "Do not tease me, Venom." he pleaded as his lover made himself comfortable on his lap, his bottom not so coincidentally pressing against the hero's throbbing groin.
The sight was just drool worthy. Seeing the negative personage in an authority's uniform was just alluring in its irony. His evil features, obvious in the paleness of his skin in contrast with the dark circles around his mischievous eyes looked so kinky in the police uniform, it made the hero excited in a matter of seconds.
Venom slowly leaned in, lips leaving a ghostly touch against the hero's, who kept approaching as the villain backed off, making him groan in frustration. Eventually, the villain unbuckled his belt, pulling his pants down, before unbuttoning a few buttons of the shirt, exposing his collarbone, to which the hero grinned like a child receiving Christmas presents.
Venom chuckled, letting his lover nibble on his skin as he ground against him eagerly.
"Kitten, are you still sore from that other guy?" Klaus asked breathlessly as the villain slowly pulled the hero's boxers down.
"No, the cop's blood healed me, My Hero." he replied, already lowering himself as he hugged his lover tightly.
"Good, you might need more blood after we're done..." murmured Klaus huskily, moving his arms roughly, the bar of the headboard breaking in the process. Venom yelped.
Josh stood in his office, on the boss chair he was spinning nervously as he tugged at his hair. It's been a week and two days since the couple ran away, and he had no clue as to where they could possibly be. They received a few missing reports from a specific part of the city, but that didn't help at all seeing as it was the place with the biggest crime rate.
He stopped spinning the chair when another detective entered his office, a proud expression on his face. "Morning, Josh! I have some news that might interest you."
Josh, unfazed, gestured him to speak by waving his hand absentmindedly. David, the other detective, scowled at his attitude before speaking.
"Policeman Henry went missing. His wife informed me yesterday. I asked around, and the last time he was seen he was heading towards this address, having been complained to about noise pollution." he spoke, placing a piece of paper on Josh's desk, who shot him a quizzical look.
"You think it has something to do with Klaus and Venom?" he asked intrigued. It was no secret that detective Josh abandoned any other cases to focus on that specific one, neglecting any other matter, his co-workers understanding seeing as Klaus was involved.
"Well, since all conversations are being recorded, I listened to that specific one which happened the day after the two escaped. Some old lady complained about the new neighbours above her being no less than loud during their sexual intercourse. Two males involved, and lots of German." he clarified.
Josh stood up, ignoring the spark of jealousy making itself clear by the twitch in his temple, and grabbed his car keys. "This is the address she mentioned?" he asked, grabbing the paper.
"Yes."
"And why did Henry's wife report this only yesterday?"
"You know Henry..."
Josh nodded in understanding, knowing from past experiences just how unfaithful the guy was to his wife.
Venom and Klaus were lying on the couch, the hero spooning his lover tightly as they watched a black and white speechless movie. Neither of them was sure about its theme or about what was exactly happening, they just calmly enjoyed each other's company, listening to the rain outside, the TV's purpose being to enlighten the space and add a drop of cliché to the atmosphere. The villain was on the verge of sleeping, his eyelids feeling heavier with each minute passing.
The reason he didn't want to sleep was the fact that he wished to live every moment of that little scenery they found themselves in. His body was tightly wrapped in the hero's, making him feel cosy, safe and warm, and Klaus's hand was delicately massaging his chest under one of the over-sized shirts he finally approved days ago to wear.
Just as he was about to fall asleep, he was brought back to conscience the moment his lover flinched behind him. Opening his eyes, he looked at the brick wall on which red and blue lights alternated from outside. He jumped off the couch, the hero soon following, and grabbed at his hair miserably. "Couldn't they wait until tomorrow?" he whined, referring to the fact that the next day they planned on moving somewhere else.
Klaus looked around frantically as he bit his nails. His eyes widened as they fell upon the crumpled police uniform, an idea popping in his head. Looking at the villain, he grabbed his shoulders and looked him dead in the eyes.
"Put that uniform on and wait for them to start searching the building for us. Then, put the handcuffs on me and turn me in, then walk away." he spoke, the villain shaking his head roughly through the second sentence. Shaking him, he shot him a pleading look. "Venom, please! It's the only way!"
"But..."
"No buts! I'll escape eventually, you won't get rid of me that easily." Klaus scoffed, cupping his face. "Put. The uniform. On."
Venom gulped, biting his trembling lip, before hurrying to dress up. He winced as the building's front door was slammed open, heavy steps echoing through the walls as they searched around. After being done, he tied Klaus's hands to his front, sobbing silently behind clenched teeth.
The hero leaned in for a kiss, the villain responding eagerly. Their lips moved desperately, as if trying to become one pair, together to stay for eternity. However, when the steps reached their floor, Klaus pulled back and positioned himself in front of the villain, who hesitantly pushed him out of the apartment.
As they walked down the hallway, he kept the over-sized police hat over his eyes, his hair tugged under it, and the others stopped to announce each other that one of them was found. Venom kept hiding behind his lover's back, each step he took towards the exit twisting his guts deeper in guilt.
As they reached outside, he pushed him all the way to a police car, where Josh watched in shock the approaching hero, probably not having expected to actually get him. Klaus watched him coldly, panting from the withheld anger.
"Congratulations..." Josh murmured, patting Venom on the shoulder without glancing at him, eyes fixed on the man before him. Venom nodded, eyes on the ground, before walking away shakily, nervous under the gazes of the many policemen around them.
"Now, where's Venom?" the detective asked his friend, clueless that the villain just slipped between his fingers. "I don't expect you to answer, of course, but it's worth a shot, isn't it, Swartzenfridge?" he teased, back to his habit of mocking the hero's name.
Klaus darted his gaze away, frowning at a cop that squinted suspiciously towards the direction Venom went at. Josh followed his gaze, much to his horror. The man raised an arm, pointing accusingly at the disguised villain.
"Is that...?"
Venom was quickly trying to live the scene, wiping at his face as discreetly as he managed, gulping sobs. "Freeze!" someone yelled, and he impulsively obeyed, not because of the demand, but because of the shock of being discovered. "Turn around!"
Slowly, he turned around, sniffling repetitively, watching through blurry eyes the hero. He felt like a disappointment. It was such a great plan, yet there he was, having screwed it up, and betraying his lover's freedom while doing so. If they only switched roles, Klaus would have gotten away swiftly. But no, he had to be a scrawny man looking obviously out of place in a police uniform.
"Put your hands in the air!" a policeman yelled, and he did as told, arms shaking as he started sobbing freely, eyes moving to the ground, away from the gaze of the pained hero watching him affectionately.
Shaking his head, he took a step back, letting his arms drop by his side, suddenly deciding to make a run for it. "Don't move, or I'll shoot!" the armed man yelled, but the villain didn't listen.
Another step was what it took for the cop to pull the trigger, a bullet piercing the vampire's chest mercilessly. He felt his ribcage vibrate as it entered his heart. Venom's eyes widened, tears drying on his face as he let out a silent whimper. His legs felt numb, causing him to stumble backwards, giving the cop the wrong impression he was trying to run away.
That impression caused the man to shoot again, this time a bullet reaching the middle of his collarbone, cutting any sound that managed to escape his throat up until then. He fell on his knees, torso managing to balance enough to keep him steady as he tried to raise his hand, in order to signalise the man to stop.
The policeman, believing in the silly vampire movies he saw up until then, took that as some sort of witchcraft attempt, and so, he sent a last bullet to the villain's head. The impact violently sent his upper body backwards, his back hitting the cemented ground with a thud, arms sprawled.
And so, the heart that would always beat against the hero's slowly stopped. The blood leaking from above his collarbone slowly covered the hickeys left by the hero under a layer of dark red. The forehead on which the hero would plant kisses before sleep smoothed as his face turned blank in lifelessness.
Klaus looked away, the sight causing unfamiliar tears to slide down his face. He bit his nail violently, his finger starting to bleed as he ripped more of the nail than intended. A hand clasped his shoulder, and he looked at Josh, a frown on his trembling lips as he glared at him with pure hatred.
"He will be fine, Klaus. He'll heal eventually." he assured, face honest as he continued. "And you'll be there to see him when he does."
At hearing that, the hero blinked in confusion. "But I'll be in jail..." he spoke, voice trembling childishly. Josh smirked, ruffing his hair.
"I sent your brain scan to the mental hospital, and they agreed to take you as well. You'll just have to wait two weeks until leaving the room will be allowed, and you and Venom will be able to screw like bunnies where ever you manage." he promised, winking, before opening the door of a police car and ushering him inside.
Before entering, Klaus turned around. "Thank you..." he spoke sincerely. Josh shrugged, leaning to offer the hero a short peck on the lips.
"I'll visit you, so let me know if you're up for threesomes." he joked, to which the hero shook his head at the idea of sharing his Venom with someone.
On the road, he eyed the unconscious man next to him, leaning on the door of the car silently as his empty eyes gazed through the ceiling of the vehicle. Klaus scooted closer to him, leaning to plant soft kisses on his neck, jaw and cheek.
"Can you hear me?" he whispered gently, a small smile on his lips as he thought of the moment they'd meet again in two weeks. "We'll be fine. I'll be there with you, maybe in the room across yours if I ask Josh nicely." he spoke, before burying his face in his lover's soft hair.
He then placed his head on his shoulder, lying on him as they approached the hospital, trying to focus on the day he'd get to see his neutral, superior, mischievous expression again.
"It will be fine, kitten..."
This is NOT the end! Just throwing that out there :3
