Klaus slowly walked towards the roof's edge, dreading the sight he was bound to see. As he got next to the wine bottles, he slowly leaned over, panting, eyes closed. Dead bodies weren't something he couldn't bring himself face before, but something about imagining the villain dead gave the hero goosebumps.

He hesitantly opened one eye, the other one following quickly in shock. He didn't have time to process the sight of the spotless pavement, lightened by a loner streetlamp, because faster than he had the chance to gasp, a hand pushed him. He felt his blood freeze in his veins as he was about to fall, his whole body going numb.

But then he stopped, feet barely on the edge of the roof. The same hand from before was gripping his, the hero's free arm hanging loosely in its numbness. He heard giggling, but Klaus's widened eyes stood fixed on the sidewalk below him. Far, far below him, the only factor keeping him from meeting said sidewalk being a giggling maniac, insane villain.

Venom pulled him back on the roof, trying to hold him as the hero stumbled, which proved to be a difficult task considering his own fragile frame and drunken state. "You should have seen the look on your face!" he giggled when Klaus managed to pull himself together.

"Venom... Are you nuts? You could've killed me!" Klaus snapped, taking deep breaths as he ran a hand through his hair.

"Pffft." was Venom's only response as he leaned to grab the remaining wine bottle. He bit off the cork, bringing the bottle to his already wet lips. But before he got the chance to drink, the hero grabbed it out of his grip and raised his arm so it would be out of his reach. That didn't stop Venom from trying, though. He kept jumping after it, the hero occasionally drinking from the wine himself just for the hell of it.

"Dance for me, my kitten!" Klaus laughed, the alcohol having reached his head. Venom whined, letting his head drop on the hero's chest. He wrapped his arms around his neck, then raised on his toes to peck his cheek.

"Can I have my wine now?" he asked politely, eyeing the nearly empty bottle. Klaus patted his head and handed him the bottle, watching as he gulped it down eagerly.

Focused on drinking, the villain didn't notice his unbalance, and almost fell backwards if it wasn't for the hero grabbing his waist. Venom then threw the bottle to the floor, grinning as he heard it shatter. "Lets dance." he proposed, placing a hand on Klaus's shoulder. He interlocked their hands and started pacing slowly.

"There's no music, and I don't know how to dance." laughed Klaus, his arm slightly tightening around the villain's waist. He moved as gentle as he managed, afraid he might break the vampire's fragile body.

"Since there's no music, there shall be no choreography." Venom spoke, swinging his hips as he moved after the hero's pace. After spinning around for a bit, their dance turned into attempts of staying on their feet, but it was a dance nonetheless.

At one point, Venom stumbled, the way he did every now and then. Up until then, the hero would just tug him back and send him in a pirouette, but that time he didn't. Instead, he just held him and studied his blushed face, wet thin lips and playful hazel eyes as they stared at him in amusement.

"This is the part where you kiss me." Venom whispered, a grin on his face.

"I'm not drunk enough." Klaus replied just as quiet.

"Well, I am." the villain insisted.

With that, he raised his head, lips meeting Klaus's in a kiss. The hero responded before giving it any thought, tongue escaping his mouth to meet Venom's. On its way, it brushed by the villain's fangs, causing it to bleed. He didn't mind, though, he was just pleased he would make the vampire enjoy it even more.

Venom moaned as he tasted the super-human blood leaking between their tongues. It felt so, so good... Not just the blood, but the whole kiss. It was gentle yet messy, and it made him feel truly cared about.

Klaus interrupted the kiss, watching as a drop of blood left the corner of the vampire's lips. He traced his thumb up his chin, and sighed as he watched Venom lick his finger, eyes never leaving his. Venom then pulled back from his hold and started pacing backwards, occasionally spinning in pirouettes as he hummed. Klaus watched in awe the beautiful man, brain too intoxicated to process the oddness of his behaviour.

What he did manage to process, though, was the way he was quickly approaching the edge of the roof. He frowned, shooting him a questioning look, but the moment he saw the grin on his face, he knew Venom was aware of the danger he was approaching. "Venom?"

He froze, unable to run after him as much as he wanted. The vampire made a last pirouette, blowing him a kiss as he turned around, and then just... fell.

The rooftop door being slammed open got the hero out of his numbness, sending him running towards the edge. "Venom don't!" he screamed, despite knowing he must have already been down by then... And he was right. And he would never forget what he saw. Despite the distance between them, he could clearly see the weird angles his limbs stood at, the puddle of blood underneath him, the hint of a tear on his cheek...

He was always dumbfounded by the way his eyes were always lifeless and empty... But as he watched them now, staring at him widely, colourless, he realised just how much emotion they used to hold.

Klaus bit his nails as he watched the healing man on the hospital bed, a bag of blood above his bandaged head. The end of the tube wasn't connected to his arm, of course, but placed between his lips as he unconsciously sipped. Josh was sitting on a bed behind Klaus, nervously playing with an envelope.

The hero was thinking about all that happened, finally sober. Back when he got in the hospital, as he tried to catch up with the stretcher Venom was being carried on, a wave of nausea hit him, and so he spent about half an hour in the bathroom vomiting, Josh there to pat his back until the hero eventually fainted. He woke up hours later, in the same room they were standing in at the moment,  in the bed now occupied by Josh.

With a sigh, the detective spoke. "What the hell happened up there?"

Klaus shrugged, shaking his head. "We danced..." he murmured, spitting a nail he chewed on, then continuing to another.

"What the fuck." was his friend's response, but he ignored it, instead focusing on Venom. On what he was wearing, to be specific... Which would be a strait jacket...

"Are we really going to do this to him?" he asked, watching as the villain's Adam's apple moved with each gulp he took. He looked so at peace... But soon, Klaus predicted, he wouldn't.

"So now you're against sending him back to that place. If I were to ask you this days ago, you'd beg for first line tickets just to laugh in his face as he was to be carried by men in white coats." Josh commented, standing up. "He cut himself, I let that slip. He jumps off the roof, here goes your ticket."

Klaus spit another nail, turning around to watch the two men waiting by the door. Men in white coats... covering muscles. He hoped Venom wouldn't struggle too much, those men could turn him into dust by only patting him. "He was just drunk... there's no need for this." he told Josh.

"He wasn't drunk when he decided to go to the roof. I don't think he was only planning on admiring the view."

"What if he was?" Klaus snapped, stepping towards the detective. "And it's not your place to judge what happens to him!"

"No, it's the neurology doctor's place to judge." he replied, taking the envelope off the bed and handing it to the hero. He opened it hesitantly, revealing a brain scan. "That, to the left, is the scan of Venom's brain. To the right is the scan of a normal brain."

Klaus gulped. He was no neuroscientist, but he could tell the outstanding difference between the two. "He's not sane, Klaus. It's for his best."

"For his best? You think his brain looked like this before 9 years of getting raped in that mental institution?!" he yelled, shoving the poster in Josh's chest.

"Klaus, nobody knew about that up until the released patients were questioned. And it won't happen again, the Megan Mental Hospital made sure the video tapes will be checked weekly by policemen."

"Yeah, because the man in the monitors room can't stop the recording whenever he feels like it!"

"If when checked the recordings are not complete-"

"But the damage will have already been done!" he yelled, aware of the way his temple twitched.

     "Klaus.."

     "What!"

"Maybe you should join him." Josh deadpanned.

"What the fuck did you just say?" Klaus asked through clenched teeth, stepping closer to him. Josh didn't back off, he just faced the hero daringly. They had the same height, making the staring match intense. Keeping his eyes on the hero's, he grabbed another poster from inside the envelope.

"While you were unconscious, I asked them to take you to the neurology department for a scan." he spoke, holding the poster in his face, blocking their visual contact. Klaus grabbed it and crumpled it mercilessly, the material cutting his palm. "Schizophrenia. Bipolarity, to be specific."

"You know me for 7 years, and a poster is all it takes for you to consider me mad?!" the hero shouted, about to punch him before the beeping of the heart monitor distracted him. He instantly let him go, approaching the villain hurriedly. His eyes were open, wide and confused, covered by ruffled hair which Klaus then brushed away. The vampire gulped a last bit of blood, before he froze.

Venom sat straight up, then turned to the side and vomited. Since his arms were pinned around his torso, he was just about to fall before Klaus grabbed him. He then held him as he threw up all the blood he drank up until that point, mixed with the alcohol that caused him the nausea in the first place. The hero couldn't help but notice how wrong it felt for such a delicate body to contract in such pain.

Josh handed Klaus a bottle of water. The hero raised it to the villain's lips, who was still hunched over the edge of the bed. His face couldn't have gotten paler than it always was, but his dark circles seemed to have deepened. He looked tired and confused as he rinsed his mouth.

After blinking a couple of times, he looked to his left to see Klaus watching him worriedly. Venom smiled slightly, wanting to wrap his arms around him, but he realised too late he couldn't, which sent him face first into Klaus's chest. The hero hugged him nonetheless as Venom slowly processed his arms were pinned.

"No..." he whispered, starting to struggle. "No no no no no no!" he shook his head, praying he was just stuck in the sheets of the bed. As he looked towards the door and saw the two men approaching, he just screamed. The white coats... The judging faces... "No! Don't send me there! Please, just kill me already! Fucking kill me!" he shouted, his voice cracking.

The hero stood up, holding him protectively as he backed off until his spine hit the corner of the room. "Klaus, let him go." Josh demanded from behind the two men. The hero shook his head, turning around to face the corner, and held the shaking villain tightly.

"Don't let go, please don't let go." whimpered Venom.

Klaus broke the promise of not letting him go before he even voiced it. A twinge of pain in his arm made him flinch, before his vision got blurry and arms went numb. He collapsed on the villain. Venom turned around, causing him to lean on the wall on which he then slid down all the way to the ground, where he sat unconscious, eyes distant.

"Klaus... Klaus please..." the hero could faintly hear a voice, before a loud noise scratched his ears. It wasn't a scream, it was... more than that. There was no way vocal chords could make that happen... Opening his heavy eyelids was more difficult than he ever imagined it to be, but when he managed to do so, he felt a sob escape the lips he couldn't move.

Venom's head was turned towards him, but the rest of his body wasn't... His eyes were rolled back, and his torso was twisted at a disturbing angle. The veins on his neck looked about to explode... and... From his messy hair, the hero could trace the shape of... horns. They were curvy and dark and scraped... His scream was endless, and Klaus could hear it fade away as it disappeared down the hospital's hall.

     'Venom... is beautiful.'
