IMPORTANTNESS: The guy in the image is Josh. I know, Ian Somerhalder as a character, I'm being so original having chosen him!
~
Venom sat in the middle of the white room, on the pillowed floor, widened eyes never leaving the green blinking light of the camera watching him back. Every time the light would blink -for exactly 3 seconds- his heart would skip a beat. His eyes were teary, but his eyelids were frozen widely. He couldn't bring himself to close them, afraid the green light wouldn't appear again.
And he knew to well what used to happen when the camera turned off.
4 days have passed since Venom was sent to the hospital. Klaus counted.
He was walking the town's streets, in his usual routine of checking for any sign of crime. But something changed... His pace changed, the look in his eyes changed, his whole perspective on everything changed.
His once proud pace was now threatening and alarming, his black eyes that would normally scan the area were now covered by the hair bang he stopped flipping away, and as to his perspective on world, well...
Disgust and hatred.
Up until then, he didn't give much thought to the part of him that criticized people. He would just let it all out whenever attacking criminals. But now, he let it all occupy his mind as he watched the citizens around offering him hesitant greetings. He cursed every smile on each of their faces as they walked around feeling safe and grateful.
Of course, the fact that Venom was sent back to the mental hospital was big news, and everyone felt just so victorious and pleased that the villain got what he deserved. The very first time he was labelled as insane, everyone stopped seeing him as a being. He just automatically turned into a creature in their eyes, and he would never be anything else to them. The world didn't even stop to consider his feelings, the things he'd been and is going through at the moment, they just didn't!
To them, he didn't have his own tragic story and he didn't have a present. He just had the past of a killer and the future of a locked madman, whose existence was to be forgotten. And that was what made Klaus's perspective on world change drastically. And he knew why.
It was because he was proved to be mentally ill, yet the unknowing people respected and saluted him warmly, despite being a killer himself. He knew that if his brain scan was to be published, everyone would instantly demand for him to be sent to the mental hospital. All it would was a simple paper to change their whole view on him.
Disgusting.

"Just let me talk to him for a second!" Klaus finally snapped after having had enough of the security guards' guts. Yes, he was currently at the Megan Mental Hospital, in front of Venom's cell room. Moving his eyes to the window, he felt his self-control slip even further from his grasp.
"For the nth time, hero, he can't leave the room for the first two weeks. He must adjust to his surroundings and escape the denial state. He will only then be allowed to walk out of his cell room and receive visits." one of the security guards spoke impatiently.
"You talk about him as if he's some animal! Just- just look at him!" Klaus shouted and turned towards the window, biting his nails. "Please let me in..." he pleaded quietly, distracted by the sight. Venom's eyes were wide, bloodshot and terrified as he stood in the middle of the room, watching the camera as if it was the reincarnation of Vlad the Impaler.
"No can do-"
"I will punch you in the guts." the hero growled, but arms grabbed his, and he was then dragged down the hallway, towards the exit. He stumbled out of the hospital as the security guard shoved him, and Klaus turned around to maturely offer an offensive hand gesture. The guard ignored him and walked away, continuing his meaningless life.
The hero walked down the stairs grumpily, stopping at the bottom to look around the hospital's yard. Many patients wondered around, in their strait jackets, each one of them caught in their own incomprehensible mind. His eyes stopped on a girl that was watching him intently, the look on her face sending shivers up his spine.
Despite her tired pale face, a painfully big grin was plastered on it. It was clearly fake, which was obvious by the outstanding look of hatred in her widened eyes, one of them occasionally twitching. She was sitting on a bench, under the shadow of an old willow tree, wind caressing her short, messy black hair. The hero walked towards her intrigued, nibbling on the nail in his mouth. He then sat next to her silently, offering a questioning look.
"What do you suffer of?" the girl asked quietly, her voice a soft whine.
"I'm not a patient here." the hero murmured, flipping his hair away from his eyes.
"I know you aren't. I asked what you suffer of." she replied, blue, judging eyes never leaving Klaus's.
The hero squinted slightly, knowing she must be one of those persons. The kind that could figure anyone out in a second. "Schizophrenia." he answered. "Bipolarity." he then added, darting his eyes away. "How about you?"
"You already know."
That was true. He managed to sense her emotions, and those led him to classify her as suicidal. They weren't like Venom's, silently suffering under his super-human shield the hero couldn't get through . Hers stood out, proudly crying tears of hatred. "You're right, but if we look at it like that, there's no need for conversation. I figured you out, you figured me out, no questions would be needed." he replied monotonously. "Now, mind participating in this small chat?"
The girl giggled before placing her head on Klaus's shoulder. "They labelled me as suicidal. My name is Megan, and you must be Klaus, the famous hero. What brings you here?" she asked.
"Venom."
Klaus then chuckled as he felt her heart beat fasted and her blood rise in her cheeks at the sound of the villain's name. "Well someone has a crush." he teased half-heartedly, not glad about the idea of someone fancying him.
"Venom really gets under peoples' skin, I'll tell you that. And I bet I'm not his only victim..." Megan spoke knowingly.
"No..." murmured the hero. "You're not."
Klaus was clenching and unclenching his jaw as he sat in the bar, Josh next to him in the booth. The hero was stubbornly looking out the window at the trees along the sidewalk surrounded by a thrilling rainy atmosphere. The detective insisted that they hanged out, since the hero had to offer the drinks he promised after having been proved wrong on the criminal killer's case. Klaus agreed, having been in need of a drink himself.
A hand sneaked up his leg suggestively, but he ignored it. Him and Josh had a weird friendship, really. He wouldn't consider themselves best friends since they didn't really see each other except when working or drinking. He couldn't label it as friendship with benefits, since they only had drunken sex a few times. They were just... bonded.
"Oh come on, Swartzavoski." purred Josh, as always screwing around with his name. "You know I love you, bipolar or not!" he added, tracing his lips up the hero's neck. "Or is this about Venom?"
"It is, indeed, about Venom. How come you send him to the mental hospital, but when it comes to me you don't do shit?" Klaus spat. "I'm mentally ill as well, aren't I?"
"Yeah, but you kill for justice. You're a good, good boy." Josh laughed, running his fingers through the hero's ink coloured, silky hair. "Lets just kiss and make up." he proposed, leaning to peck Klaus, but his lips landed on his cheek when he turned his head away, looking out the window once again.
"And you called me a hypocrite." the hero murmured, taking a few gulps from his beer.
"Wait, wait, wait, I can't hear you over the sound of how in love you are with Venom. Say that again?" Josh laughed before taking a few gulps himself. Klaus shrugged.
"That joke was bad and you should feel bad." he murmured.
Josh suddenly sat up on his knees, placing one on the other side of the hero's waist, straddling Klaus, his arms caging him as he placed them on the backrest. The hero sighed as Josh leaned in for a kiss, but responded nonetheless. It was reflex, really. The people working at the bar knew them as loyal clients, and cheered the way they always would at their intimate interactions.
Klaus bit on Josh's lip as he felt his hand sneak under his shirt and slide lower. The detective stopped the kiss, but kept his hand in the hero's jeans. Klaus predicted what was to come, so he hurried to ask "What would your girlfriend say about this, Joshua?"
"Don't avoid the obvious, Swartzengardenstein. Are you, by any chance, kissing me half-heartedly?" he asked suspiciously, a smirk on his face. "Is there someone else on your mind, perhaps?" he teased, moving his hand lower in the hero's jeans.
"Yes, there is, actually. That would be Venom. He messily licked and sucked my bleeding tongue after having had danced with me, what living creature could overcome that." Klaus replied sincerely.
"No, no, don't mind my ego. It will just silently suffer as I take in the fact that I lost my man to a psycho, scrawny, walking corpse." Josh sighed dramatically, letting his head fall on the hero's chest.
"He's not scrawny..." murmured Klaus.
Venom didn't know how many days passed, but time was never any of his concerns. Time meant nothing in his eternal life, that currently turned torture. He couldn't take it. Each minute seemed to drag on forever. How was being locked in a white, plain room and a straitjacket supposed to make him sane? If anything, it did the opposite. Each blink of the camera's green light made his head thump harder, his teeth clench stronger, his heart beat faster.
Until they all stopped. The green light stooped reappearing, his head felt empty, his teeth parted as he gasped, and his heart just froze. Shaking, he stood up and stumbled backwards to the corner of the room, eyes fixed on the camera, where he let himself slide down the wall. He then turned around, trying to make himself as small as possible, the only thing he could think of doing. What was worst about that room was that there was no, just no way to hide.
He heard steps on the hall, getting closer and closer to the door of his room. Well, he didn't actually hear them, all the cell rooms in the hospital being soundproof so sensible patients wouldn't hear noises from outside. His mind imagined the steps instead, getting louder and clearer and he knew it was just auditory hallucination, but he was certain they were there. And he was proved right.
The door opened.
His throat was still sore after having screamed that first day he got there, but it didn't cease to let a horrified whimper escape. He tried to go farther into the corner, but he just couldn't. There was no escaping it, he knew too well.
"Kitten?"
Venom let out a sob of relief as he turned his head. "My Hero..."

Yaes! It might be confusing, though, because I didn't mention how much time actually passed :) two weeks, that is. I just jumped over them and wrote the last scene, in which the second week ended. You know, when visiting would be allowed. Yaes :]
Comment maybe? it means a lot to me! If anything, I would prefer comments over votes :p it's just... when one votes, they just click a button to let me know that they liked the chapter, and I really appreciate votes, don't get me wrong XD It's just... when people comment, I can truly be convinced that they like the book, because I then know they took the time to write a few words. Even a 'this is dope' is enough for me, just the idea matters :']
so please comment, yaes? :')
