"So, you never told me why you were out up on Commodore Point that night," Will mentioned out of the blue. He and Ryan were currently lying on Ryan's bed the Friday night after mock exam week.

It had been a month since Ryan's cast had been put on but it still needed a few more weeks to heal some more, so they decided to just spend their Friday night lazing around. It had also been over three weeks since the debacle that was Oliver at Dale's store but luckily, not much else had happened. Mainly because Will hadn't seen much of him since, partly because he knew seeing him would cause more issues but also because he'd locked himself away to study for the mock exams. It was his final year of high school after all, it was all very important and he didn't need anyone messing it up. Ryan, to his own dismay, still had to do the exams, so he was happy to be locked away with Will, studying hard for them too.

The two were laying in a T, with Will's head on his boyfriend's stomach. As Ryan played with his boyfriend's hair, he thought over his answer to Will's question. "Well, as you probably remember, Mia and I had just broken up that afternoon. So, I'd gone to the party to distract myself. I didn't wanna just laze around at home, getting all hung up on the break up, y'know. I probably would've gone crazy, to be honest. So yeah, when I got there, the guys had brought some weed with them, an-"

"You smoke weed?" Will cut in.

"Yeah, from time to time," Ryan admitted, having somehow not mentioned it once in the four months the two had been dating. "Anyway, the guys wanted to smoke, so we went round the headland to that little cove place, I forget the name. But yeah, they were just passing it round and I had a few puffs but, I don't know, I just didn't really feel like it? I kinda just wanted to go home, really. So the guys told me to fuck off 'cause I was being such a downer and 'harshing their buzz' – 'cause apparently we still live in the '70s," he explained snarkily.

Will remained quiet as Ryan talked about his friends. The last few months between Ryan and his friends had been tense, to say the least, mainly because they didn't take too well to the news that their male friend was dating another guy. Sure, they'd stood around and laughed when they watched Ryan hit on Will, but they didn't realise that it was more than a joke to Ryan. So, part of Will understood the shock they must've felt when their "straight" friend just casually mentions he's dating a guy now, but that never excused the terrible things they'd say to Ryan whenever Will was brought up in conversation. In the end, Ryan jut spent less and less time with them and spent more time with Will and his friends.

Will felt bad sometimes, to be honest. Dating him meant Ryan had to give up his friends. Dating him caused that, in Will's mind anyway. Ryan just brushed it off as Will overthinking things whenever he brought it up, but it ate at Will. He often felt like Ryan had given up so much for the relationship while he hadn't given up all that much himself. Ryan was loyal and would do anything for him, while Will was getting confused anytime Oliver showed interest. Ryan was just utter perfection and Will was absolute scum.

"Lucky they told me to get lost though, or I wouldn't have run into you," Ryan said, breaking the silence they'd been in. "And I wouldn't end up being the happiest I've ever been in my life, even with this broken leg," Ryan laughed. Will couldn't help but smile, his head vibrating along as Ryan's body shook in laughter.

Will manoeuvred himself to lie on top of Ryan, wrapping his arms around the other boy in a tight hug. "I love you so much," he mumbled into Ryan's neck.

Ryan wrapped his arms around his boyfriend, hugging him as tightly as he was being hugged, and positioned his mouth close to Will's ear. "I love you more," he whispered sincerely.

Neither one of them knew just how true that statement might have been.

It was about an hour or so later that they heard dance music pumping loudly a few houses down from Ryan's place. The two hadn't moved for the most part, just enjoying the embrace of one another as they whispered to each other about nothing in particular.

Will was the first to hear the music. "Wonder who's throwing a party," he thought aloud, before remembering, "Hey, wasn't someone throwing an 'end of exam' party or something?"

Ryan bit his lip as he thought it over. "Oh yeah, Priya was," he recalled, vaguely remembering a Facebook event about it. "She does live down the road from me, so that would make sense."

"Do you wanna go?" Will asked because, well, he kinda wanted to. Sure, he enjoyed just lazing around but they'd been cooped up in Ryan's house for weeks now. They needed to get out in the world for a bit and stop being anti-social hermits.

"Do you want to?" Ryan asked back. Will sighed, knowing if he asked if Ryan wanted to go again, he'd just ask right back, going around in circles until one of them caved. It was something they seemed to be doing quite a lot these days.

"Why not?" Will shrugged, caving first.

"I guess if we have to..." Ryan sighed melodramatically. Will laughed, lifting himself off the injured boy below and sitting on the side of the bed. Ryan scooted his way next to him, his casted leg still giving him a little trouble. The pesky bastard was still tricky to manoeuvre, even if he'd had it for a month already. "So, up for giving me a sponge bath?" he suggested cheekily, wriggling his eyebrows in an ill-attempt of seduction.

Will just shook his head. "Not gonna work, mister. You can clean yourself," he announced, standing up and walking over to his bag of clothes next to Ryan's desk on the other side of the room.

"Awww but that's no fun!" Ryan whined. Will could hear the pout that Ryan had on his face. Since the night of the frosted cupcake, Ryan (and Will, to some extent) had become horned up and ready for action. But still, they hadn't gone all the way yet. It was Will, to be perfectly honest, who was holding back, because it was evident that Ryan was raring to go. Why though, Will wasn't entirely sure. Waiting for the perfect time, he guessed, though even he knew that was a crock of shit. Nothing in their relationship happened at the perfect time. But was it wrong to want this to be the time it happens perfectly?

Will was shocked out of his train of thought by a pair of arms circling his waist and a light kiss being pressed on the nape of his neck. "What're you thinking about?" the other boy asked into the back of Will's neck. Will sighed, enjoying the sensation of Ryan's lips moving on his skin as he spoke.

"Nothing important," Will replied, brushing off the matter. When it happens, it happens. Nothing he could do would change what fate had in motion. "Let's just get ready," he added, turning around to wrap his arms around Ryan's neck and give him a quick peck.

"If we share a shower, it'll be quicker," Ryan suggested innocently, though Will knew that wasn't going to be the case.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

They did end up sharing a shower. And it was not quicker. Actually, it was probably longer than if they'd gone separately. But they still made it to the party, even if they were fashionably late.

Having hobbled his way into the party with his crutches, Ryan now sat on one of those outdoor loveseat swings and his injured leg was propped up on a stool Will had dragged over. Will was curled up next to him on the swing, sipping on a bottle of cider he'd snagged on the way over.

Not really knowing anyone at the party, the two teens struck up conversation with the group of girls sitting near them, who all giggled over how cute a couple they were and "oh my god, gay guys are the best." Will checked out of the conversation when they started discussing how lesbian sex work, all clueless since none of them had given it a thought before. Ryan, oddly knowledgeable on the subject, chipped in on what he knew, though Will doubted porn was an entirely reliable source. The conversation moved on with Will joining back in when drinks were brought out and they began discussing who the best Friends character was – Phoebe, of course – and ended when the girls had to leave a few hours later.

The two guys waved goodbye from the loveseat as the girls drunkenly stumbled away giggling, having exchanged phone numbers and snapchat names, though Will doubted they'd speak to each other again after that night. To be honest, Will couldn't even remember most of their names and they'd only left like a few seconds ago. Maybe he was drunker than he thought. He had been drinking quite a bit that night, having a bit of everything the girls had offered him. His mind was hazy. The world was spinning around in a confusing mess. He really didn't know what was really happening anymore.

What did register in his brain though was the crystal blue of Oliver's eyes, like two tiny beacons staring at him from across the patio, Stacey hanging off of him as they sat on a wooden bench. Will was surprised, not having noticed him earlier in the night. He raised his hand to give him a wave but Oliver's only response was to pull Stacey close to him and give her a deep and proper kiss. As he continued to stare deeply into Will's eyes.

Will wasn't sure what was happening or why Oliver was staring at him so intently, but he started to feel riled up. Oliver's penetrating gaze felt like a challenge to Will. In the hazy mess that was Will's drunken mind, it felt like Oliver was saying, "my relationship is better than yours." It made no sense as to why he felt like that, but not much made sense right now. 1+1=2 probably wouldn't have made sense to Will at that point. So, his only response was to pull Ryan in and make out with him furiously. Ryan, just as drunk as Will, didn't think much of it, just going with the kiss and not noticing that Will was staring just as intensely back at Oliver.

The two couples continued on, trying to one-up each other. As Will and Ryan heated up, Oliver and Stacey took it further with Stacey straddling Oliver's lap. Will soon copied before laying Ryan down and lying on top of him. Neither couple seemed to care that they were at a party surrounded by classmates, even as the dry humping began. Will was fully getting into it, completely forgetting where he was. He'd even forgotten about his staring contest he was having with Oliver, though the penetrating blue was still present in his mind, loud and clear. But all he could really focus on at that point was the pleasure he felt being this close to Ryan.

It felt intense. It felt amazing. It felt... Perfect. Just perfect.

"Do you wanna go back to yours?" Will managed to get out between stifled moans. It was time and he could feel it. If there were any time to go all the way, it was now, and goddammit, he was gonna take it.

"God yes," Ryan groaned in happiness, jumping up and grabbing his crutches as quick as he could. Will laughed loudly at Ryan's enthusiasm as they made their way out of the party and back to Ryan's place.

Too absorbed in what was going to happen and wanting to keep the heat alive between him and Ryan, Will didn't seem to notice when they passed Oliver on their way out, who was just arriving to the party as Stacey ran up to greet him.

Finally getting the front door open, Will pulled Ryan inside, closed the door, and pushed Ryan against it to kiss him ferociously. The heat and the passion were burning madly in both of them. With a bit of struggling, the two boys giggled madly as they stripped one another on the way up to Ryan's bedroom. It was the time they'd both been waiting quite a while for. In the morning when Will would look back over the night, would it be the perfect situation like he'd wanted? Probably not. But it felt perfect, to his drunken mind anyway, so he guessed that was all that mattered. Because really, it was just time to let loose and just...

Fuuck...
