Chapter 3:

Parker's POV

It's was late when I walked up the back steps and through the door. I had found my shorts by a random bush and had put them back on.

I opened the back door slowly so I wouldn't wake anyone. But luck wasn't on my side tonight as the door creaked so fucking loudly that people miles away could have heard it.

I opened it the rest of the way normally, not really giving a fuck, and then shut it. I stalked towards the kitchen to get something to hold me over til morning.

I noticed there was a small lamp light on on the table next to the couch when I exited the kitchen. I could tell who it was by their scent.

"Hey, dad. Sorry for running off earlier, I just had to get a few things straight about Luke is all." Oh how ironic.

My father just sat there, no emotion on his face. "I understand that finding out Luke is your mate was a shock, but why did you run? Why didn't you tell him?"

I could feel myself growing angry and I didn't even know why. "Why didn't I tell him? Why would I tell him?! I can never tell him. I bet he's not even gay. He would have told me. He can have a happy life with a nice girl." My voice started out loud and then grew softer with each passing word.

My dad's face took on a sympathetic expression as he stood. "Parker, he's your mate for a reason. We may not know that reason now, but we will in time. He will feel the pull towards you soon."

I looked down at the ground, his words floating around in my head. I walked forwards and shared a short hug with him. I then turned towards the stairs. "Is he home now? I know it's late but I need to tell him about werewolves before I can tell him about mates."

He shook his head, "No he said he was staying at a friends house." I stopped in my tracks and spun around.

"A friends house? Who? When did he leave?" I shot off random questions needing to know if he was safe. My dad thought about it for a moment before answering.

"He left an hour after you ran off, he thought he did something and that he should give you some space. Um, he went to...Nick Davidson's house. I believe he goes to your school and works with Luke." He had no idea how much this statement pissed me off.

I growled, my vision becoming clearer. "Nick....why the hell would he go to his house?! Nick is a senior. Nick and Luke have been friends for a while now and it never bothered me before, but now...now it pisses me off because he is gay. Nick is fucking gay!"

Now I'm no homophobe but I really don't want him to be there. Spending the night? Hell no!

"Where are my keys? I need to go get him. He-Luke can't stay there. I won't let him." My voice was low and dangerous and it didn't sound like much like mine.

My dad stepped forward placing his hands on my shoulders, forcing me to look at him. "Son...Parker, look at me. Now." He spoke using his Alpha tone and I had no choice but to obey.

His face was serious. His lips set in a tight, thin line before he spoke, "Parker, you need to calm down. Luke doesn't know yet. If you just barge over there demanding he come home will come across as very rude, considering how you left this morning."

I went to disagree, to say he was wrong, anything. But he continued on as if I haden't moved a muscle. "Luke is fine, he can take care of himself nothing is going to happen. He'll be fine. You'll be fine. He'll be back tomorrow." He finished calmly.

I immediately began to protest, "But, he always goes over there. And to do what? They've probably already fuc-"

My father cut me off giving me a disapproving look for my choice in language. "Deep breaths, Parker, deep breaths."

I took a deep breath, then two, then three. It didn't really work, knowing my mate was not at home. That he was at some other guys house doing god know what.

I nodded slightly, "Okay. I'm just...I'm tired now. Good night."

 Luke's POV

"I think we should."

"You know we shouldn't, not yet, Luke."

"Yeah but...well why the hell not?" I asked, from my position of underneath his arm, growing a bit frustrated because this was the same conversation from last week, and the week before.

He looked down at me with a helpless look on his face, "You know what will happen, what people will think. I love you too much to watch you be in pain."

I smiled a bit, "I love you too.''

He smirked and shook his head. "Why are you so fucking adorable?" he whispered as his face got closer and closer to mine.

I giggled and shrugged with an 'I don't know' face, while leaning back down onto the couch. Nick laughed and put his legs in between mine, shifting so that he was resting on his hands, hovering over me.

"I'm glad you could stay over tonight, we've got some catching up to do." Nick said seductively. I barely had time to smile and nod before his lips touched mine.

I threw my arms around his neck, pulling his body flush against mine. He dropped to his elbows as I felt his tounge slide across my bottom lip.

I parted my lips slightly, granting him access and allowing his tounge to explore my mouth. We fought for dominance for a while before he won.

But I didn't really mind that's how it always goes with Nick. I pulled away because I thought I would explode from the lack of desperately needed oxygen.

Nick peppered kisses from the corner of my mouth down to my neck and under my ear lobe where he knew my sweet spot would be.

I moaned and arched my back into him. "Wait, Nick." I managed to get out between breaths. He stopped and pulled back allowing me to see his hooded eyes and swollen lips.

"Can I at least tell Parker, my best friend?" I stuck out my bottom lip, pouting a bit. He groaned, "Fine." I smiled triumphantly and grabbed the back of his neck, slamming our lips together again.

I really do love him and I am also really glad that I would be staying over.

Parker's POV

I was unable to sleep last night due to the thought of what Luke and Nick could be doing. But my dad was probably right; nothing was going on.

But that didn't stop me from punch four holes in the wall and breaking two chairs.

"Parker? Mr. and Mrs. Kane? Is anyone home?" I immediately recognized the voice of Luke but came to the realization that he wasn't alone.

I switched the t.v. off and poked my head out into the hallway, "Hey Luke...Nick." I scowled. Why the hell is he here?

My parents walked into the living room and sat on the couch. I did the same after Luke had asked me to. He was nervous, I could tell.

I just didn't know why.

What I did know was that Nick was walking way too close behind Luke for my liking.

After everyone was seated Luke sat next to Nick on the coffee table-again, too close. Luke swallowed thickly before speaking.

"Um, well, you see..." He was stuttering badly and he wouldn't make eye contact with anyone. Nick moved his right hand behind Luke so that I couldn't see it anymore.

I noticed how as soon as he did that Luke seemed to visibly relax. This time it wasn't him who spoke. It was Nick, "Luke is gay and we have been dating."

I froze, my whole body stifening, and my heart breaking. I clenched my jaw, "How long?" I needed to know.

Luke saw my expression and swallowed again. "Um, two years from a week ago." My heart broke even more until I realized this is what I wanted.

Luke can be happy now. He doesn't ever have to know about werewolves. I can live with this heartbreak, possibly.

I will make sure werewolves don't ruin his life, like they did mine.
