When Derek was 6, he met Peter Pan at Disneyland and he told his parents he wanted to marry him. His parents told him that maybe it'd be better to marry Wendy but he insisted on marrying Peter. No one ever thought much of it, for a 6 year old it wasn't exactly surprising to want to marry someone they liked, whether a boy, a girl, or someone in their family. Everyone thought it was cute and Derek was pouting away in his room because he couldn't marry Peter just yet.
When Derek was 10, he went to Disneyland yet again and found Peter Pan. He got a picture with him and even gave him a kiss (a thimble) to Peter's apparent delight. Peter told him he'd hide from Wendy so that she wouldn't cry because it's annoying when girls cry and they cry a lot all the time anyway (Derek agreed completely). Derek's family teased him and Derek stuck his tongue out at his siblings while the grown ups were gushing over how cute it all was.
When Derek was 12, he realised he liked Peter Pan more than he liked Wendy and he didn't know how to tell his parents. He kept it to himself and when they had a family outing at Disneyland, Peter Pan asked him why he looked sad. Derek answered that he understand what it felt like to grow up and that it wasn't a nice feeling. Peter said that growing up sucked, paused, and asked why it was so bad. Derek said that sometime you realised you liked the Prince more than the Princesse and that it wasn't easy to explain to anyone. Peter said it was alright and that girls were annoying anyway. Derek went the rest of his day feeling much better.
When Derek is 14, his Peter Pan is replaced by a new Peter Pan. Derek is kind of moody at first but doesn't mind it as much when he sees the new Peter who has really nice caramel eyes and a kind smile. Derek develops a crush on the new Peter very fast and he doesn't tell anyone. He's afraid his family aren't gonna love him anymore and he doesn't want people at school to be mean to him. So he keeps quiet and pines in his corner.
When Derek is 17, he's still not out to his family. He and the back then new Peter Pan became friends sort of. Peter would see him and ask him how it was to grow up and Derek would say it sucks. Peter would ask him why and Derek would say that sometimes someone likes the prince more than the princess and that they're afraid they wouldn't be loved anymore if they told anyone. Peter would then say that it was fine and that girls were annoying because they cried all the time anyway. Derek would agree and they'd talk about traveling and seeing the universe with a pause to allow someone to take a picture with Peter every once in a while.
When Derek is 18, he says goodbye to Peter Pan, making him pout and whine about people leaving him all the time because they grow up. Derek bursts out laughing and promises to come back as soon as he's done with college. Peter gives him a kiss (a thimble) he just so happen to have from Wendy ("but don't tell her I gave it to you or else she'll cry") and tells him to hurry up. Just before Derek leaves, Peter asks if he still likes Princes better. Derek says that he does but that he's still scared. Then he leaves and he hopes he can hurry back.
When Derek is 21, he and his boyfriend decide to split up. His boyfriend is going to Dartmouth and he's going home after next year. They're both sad but they both need to focus on their studies which helps the heartbreak away. Derek thinks about Disneyland after seeing a mouse run through the halls of his dorm (why is no one cleaning up this place for god's sake) and somehow thinks about Peter Pan and the nice eyes and the kind smile. Derek remembers that he has to go back soon and he works even harder than before. He hopes he can get back to Peter soon.
When Derek turns 23, he can finally go home. The first thing he does when he gets home is go to Disney. There he sees his Peter who spots him nearly immediatly. He tells Derek that he lied because he took a very long time and that he changed a lot too and that if growing up means changing a lot and leaving for a long time then he really will never do it. They fall back into their banter and people in the park (characters and visitors alike) enjoy it and find it sweet like they did before.
When Derek is 25, he goes grocery shopping because his fridge is completely empty and it's just sad. He decides to buy some chocolate for his late night Netflix binging when he sees a man a few years older (but not by much). When the man looks up, Derek recognises his Peter immediately and his eyes can't help but widen. He waits for the man to come a bit closer before saying some very stupid thing about him looking better without a Peter Pan costume on ('as cute as Peter is, you look better without the costume on'). His Peter looks up so fast Derek worries for the man's neck. Peter's eye soften when he sees that Derek called him and he smiles wide. He stutters something out about his real name and about needing Derek's number for reasons ('My name's Stiles, want me to write it in your phone so you don't forget it? I can add my number in as well, it would only be fair since I need yours anyway'). Derek grins.
When Derek is 27, he goes to Disney to see Peter Pan. Peter spots him fast enough and asks him to take a picture of him and a little girl and her older brother. Derek takes a picture and starts bantering with Peter making the little girl ask him in a very secretive manner if Derek is like a Wendy. Derek slightly chokes at the question but answers that he's exactly like a Wendy but that he ended up growing up while Peter didn't. The girl squealed and ran off with her brother.
When Derek is 30, Stiles doesn't work as Peter anymore. He's too old so now he works as an actor for a small but successful theatre. The two of them are still very good friends, such good friends in fact that they moved in together in order to get a better apartment without going broke. Derek, if he's honest with himself, still pines after Stiles. His crush isn't on Peter however, this time around, it's on Stiles. Stiles who has nice eyes and a kind smile and who likes to cuddle when he's tired. It's still a crush on Peter because Stiles' personality is the closest to Peter Pan's that Derek has ever met, but it's mostly a crush on Stiles. He honestly thinks he loves Stiles but then he remembers that he's never come out to his family and he hides away from everyone, including Stiles, for days on.
When Derek is 32, he walks in the apartment and finds Stiles nervously pacing. Derek stops him in his tracks and raises on eyebrow. Stiles just starts vomiting words. Word after word about how he likes Derek but he doesn't know if Derek likes him and how Derek's always been important to him even back when he was starting as Peter Pan and Derek was only in high school and how he started liking Derek right before Derek left for college and how he liked him even more when he came and how he missed him and how he should've told Derek all this long ago ('god, I'm stupid, I should have told you so long ago!').
When Derek is 32, he walks in the apartment and Stiles spews word after word and when Stiles quiet down, Derek told him that by he meant by princes when he was young wasn't fully true because, "I always meant that some people liked Peter Pan more than they did Wendy." And Stiles kisses him and they somehow end up in one of their bedrooms and then they're naked. Then there's pleasure and love and happiness. Once the two men are done, they grin and laugh and tell each other that they could have done that a long time ago.
When Derek is 33, he comes out to his family and when he's 40 he says I do in front of all his friends and family. When he's 41, he and Stiles get cats because cats are awesome and when Derek's 50 he's satisified with what he's done in the past 30 years.
When Derek is 55, he meets up with his boyfriend from college and they become close friends. When Derek's 60, he and Stiles become legal godfathers to lovely twins they've already know for 11 and a half years.
When Derek's 65, his father dies at 93 and when Derek's 66, his mother dies at 95. Derek decides they both had a great life and he doesn't feel as sad as he probably should.
When Derek's 70, he goes to Disneyland with Stiles and they enjoy reminiscing about where they met and how they met. The little girl that Derek took a picture of so many years ago somehow remembers them when she hears them talking and tells them she has a family of a teenager and two 10 year olds with her Wendy, making both Stiles and Derek grin quite a bit.
When Derek's 75, he offers his niece's daughter the kitten she's been wanting for 3 years to his niece's dismay and his niece's daughter's happiness.
When Derek's 80, he and Stiles look back on their life with no regrets apart from taking so long to realise they both loved each other.
When Derek's 85, Stiles becomes a bit sick and a bit weaker. Derek finds it odd because Stiles had always been the happier, more energised one.
When Derek's 90, he's the only sibling left in his family apart from his younger sister.
When Derek's 92, Stiles dies of natural causes. His sister follows very soon.
When Derek's 95, he goes to sleep one evening with the last of many cat he has owned sleeping on his chest. The cat never wakes up, neither does Derek.
The End

Neverland is wherever they go once they have passed, as I hope you understood. Have a nice morning, day, evening, night, whichever suits you best really and I'll talk to you soon hopefully.
